Five Years Later

Part 51

Once they arrived back at Blaine's apartment after dropping his parents off, neither were quite ready to call it a night. So after changing, Sebastian came walking back into the room to find Blaine sitting up in bed after taking a shower. "And here I thought we weren't going to bed." Sebastian stated before getting comfortable beside him.

"We're not but it makes more sense to just talk here than do so in the living room. Plus, as comfortable as my couch is, my bed is more comfortable." Blaine told him before resting his head on Sebastian's shoulder.

"You won't get any complaints from me B." Sebastian told him before wrapping an arm around him. "You could tell your parents were happy to see everyone there to support you."

"It's been quite some time since they saw any of the guys." Blaine replied while placing an arm over Sebastian's chest. "It's moments like after the show that makes me wonder what my life would've been like if I didn't given in to his request that I cut off contact with the guys."

"Don't think about it B as nothing can change what's happened. Just embrace what you're experiencing now. But I do have a question; exactly what are you going to tell your parents tomorrow?" Once he spoke, Blaine moved onto his side and cuddled a bit closer, causing Sebastian to tighten his hold a bit.

"Well, I'm going to start by telling them why I was hesitant about having Scott around. It being that I didn't feel it was necessary. That's something they'll understand."

"B, they're going to realize that things got nastier than you initially said that Vincent felt you needed a bodyguard." The moment Sebastian finished speaking, he heard Blaine sigh rather loudly. "I know you didn't tell them B what happened during your marriage, but you might want to mention that Hummel tried to smack you on New Year's Eve. I mean, considering his dislike of me and his accusations of cheating it's not that fair fetched. That is, if they knew he accused you of cheating."

"They know. But my Dad knows more about how he constantly accused me of doing so." Blaine said softly. "I tended to talk to him more about everything as anytime I spoke with my Mom she got rather emotional."

"Considering what I saw tonight, I take it that only elevated his feelings."

"You could say that. I'm pretty certain he probably would've thrown a party the day I told him I filed if my Mom would've let him." Sebastian couldn't stop himself from laughing as after the time he's spent with Mr. Anderson, he could clearly picture it. "If I had said that earlier, you wouldn't have believed me."

"I would've pictured Cooper doing it, but not your Dad. But now, it's so something your Dad would've done."

"He popped a bottle of champagne instead."

"How did he react once it was finalized?"

"He took my Mom out to dinner to celebrate."

"What about you, what did you do before you showed up at my door?"

"I finished off an entire bottle of wine. I was going to go with something harder but I knew I had class the next day. And then since I was so relaxed and my mind so free…"

"You began to masturbate…to thoughts…about…me." The playful tone in his voice didn't go unnoticed by Blaine who playfully hit his chest. "You can't deny it wasn't true Killer."

"I know since that moment brought me to you. But remember, no one and I repeat no one will ever know that besides the two of us."

"Fear not B, that bit of information will stay between us." Sebastian then leaned down and kissed the top of Blaine's head as Blaine moved his hand down Sebastian's side till it was resting on his hip. "What are you thinking B?"

"Not much honestly. And before you think I purposely changed the subject…I am considering telling my parents everything."

"I'm not going to force you to do anything you're not ready for B as I know how hard it was for you to open up to me."

"I appreciate that. But you're right; they do need to know he tried to slap me as that did set everything else into play."

"I'd say that sounds like a good plan especially since your parents can read you pretty darn well. I think the only reason you were able to keep things from them is that they weren't here." When Blaine glanced up at him, he didn't say a word yet his eyes spoke volumes. "They love you so much B."

"That's something I'm well aware of." Blaine told him. "I can't even begin to tell you how much them letting me handle this on my own meant to me."

"You mean, aside from your Dad finding you a lawyer?"

"Yes, but he did that as he was looking out for me. But the final choice of lawyer was mine; he only recommended a few to me to check out." Blaine then stretched a bit and kissed Sebastian on his jaw. "Enough talk Bas." While he spoke Blaine's hand moved from Sebastian's hip to his inner thigh. The higher it went; Sebastian noticed Blaine's gaze hadn't left him.

"What do you have in mind B?" Yet instead of getting a verbal response, Sebastian felt Blaine's hand slip inside his boxers and wrap around his growing erection. "You sure?" The words barely left his lips before a soft moan escaped them. "I guess I'm not the only one with residual feelings from the performance."

"You're not." Blaine told him while moving onto his lap before leaning in to kiss him. Yet once they began to kiss, Blaine felt Sebastian's hands on his hips. It was in that moment, he felt Sebastian smirk into the kiss. "I thought it would make things easier."

"It does." Sebastian replied. "So what are you waiting for?"

"Nothing anymore."

While they normally would've woken of their own accord the next morning, with Blaine's parents coming for brunch they'd made a point of setting an alarm before falling asleep. When it finally went off, neither wanted to move, yet all it took was one of them remembering Blaine's parents to coming to get out of bed. After a quick shower, Sebastian set about getting things straightened up while Blaine ran to the store for groceries. Even though Sebastian had offered, Blaine told him to stay as he knew his way around the local grocery better than Sebastian meaning he could get in and out quicker.

With Blaine out and the apartment straightened up, Sebastian decided to get a bit of studying done. He'd gotten so into what he was reading that he honestly jumped when Blaine came walking back in and called out to him. After setting his book and laptop on the table, he went to helping Blaine get brunch prepared knowing his parents would be there shortly. "I know this might sound strange B, but this isn't going to be awkward for your parents as they know I stayed here last night."

"No, it won't be awkward Bas." Blaine told him before getting a bowl out of the cabinet. "You being here is no different to them than being with Cooper and his girlfriend." He continued before beginning to crack eggs. "Now since we're on topic, will it be awkward for your parents next weekend should we do something similar?"

"Nope." Sebastian replied while setting up another pot of coffee. "They're of essentially the same mindset your parents are though I don't have a sibling. They're comfortable with who I am." Blaine smiled before they went back to preparing. Everything was ready to go when the knock at the door came. Blaine looked at Sebastian before going to answer it as he got things going.

Upon opening the door, Blaine was surprised to see how awake his parents were considering the late night they had. After giving them each a hug and a kiss they came walking in. "What's in the bag Mom?"

"We picked up a coffee cake from that bakery around the corner. We couldn't resist as everything smelt so good as we passed by." She replied before handing the bag to Blaine so she could take off her coat. "Where is Sebastian?"

"In the kitchen." Blaine replied as they entered the living room. "So, feel free to go say hello. Also, coffee is ready."

"That, I'm happy to hear." Patrick said before walking passed him towards the kitchen.

"I take it he's more tired than he looks." Blaine said to his Mom before they took a seat.

"He is, but it's not too bad. How are you?"

"Good, but…"

"Go help Sebastian dear, we'll be fine." Kate then leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. Blaine smiled before heading back to the kitchen. Once he was gone, Kate began to look around as it had been some time since they'd visited Blaine. As she looked around, she spotted the decorative boxes on the shelves and was a bit shocked to realize they all held songs. She then spotted Sebastian's text book on the coffee table which was still open. "Thank you." She replied as Patrick handed her a cup of coffee. "How are they?"

"They look like they've been doing this much longer than they have." When she went to get up, he placed his hand on her thigh. "You can wait to say hi to Sebastian as they're a bit busy."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, as Sebastian even mentioned it when I was getting us coffee." Patrick told her. "And he's as awake as Blaine is which goes to prove they have age on their side for those crazy hours they're keeping."

"We used to be able to do that."

"I know, but we were their age when we did it." Once he spoke, Patrick turned his head and spotted a picture of the two on the end table. Knowing his wife would like to see it, he picked it up and placed it in her hand. "You might want to ask them for a copy."

"They look so happy Patrick, and cute." Kate replied as she looked at it. "I wonder where it was taken."

"It was taken at Bas's." Blaine said as he and Sebastian walked into the living room.

"Good morning Sebastian."

"Good morning Kate." Sebastian replied before leaning over to give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes."

"Who took the picture?"

"Bas did." Blaine told them. "He took a bunch of shots of just me after on New Year's Day, but we ended taking shots of the two of us together."

"This is a wonderful picture of you both. If the two of you wouldn't mind, we'd love a copy of it. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the shots you took of Blaine. That is if you have them here." While she spoke, Blaine and Sebastian looked at one another.

"That shouldn't be a problem Mom." Blaine told her.

"I can show them to you after we eat." Sebastian added bringing a smile to both of their faces. "Let me get that stuff out of the way since this is where we'll be eating." He then moved to gather his things and move them onto a side table. Just as he was finishing, a timer went off and the four of them headed towards the kitchen.

"So, do you guys have plans for today?" Blaine asked his parents as he served up the frittata Sebastian had made while he poured juice for everyone. "Or are you just winging it?"

"We were actually hoping to spend time with the two of you." Patrick replied. "But we both saw the books on the table so it's pretty clear Sebastian has studying to do."

"I do, but it's not enough that it would take my whole day." Sebastian told them. "But if there is something you want to do that will take all day, I won't be offended if the three of you go out."

"While we appreciate that Sebastian, part of this weekend is getting to know you better." Kate told him before they all headed back to the living room. "So, you let us know what would work for you both." Once his Mom spoke, Sebastian looked at Blaine and smiled.

"I'm sure we can figure it out Mom." Blaine replied before they all got seated. While the four of them ate, they kept the conversation rather light but they all knew it was only a matter of time till they finished their conversation from the previous night. By the time they all finished, Blaine and Sebastian cleared the plates to clean up allowing them all some time to digest. "I'm going to tell them Bas." Sebastian glanced at him before placing another plate in the dishwasher and his expression must've spoken volumes as Blaine continued. "Everything. That is if you don't mind having to witness their reaction as I'd appreciate it if you were around for it. I know some might feel I should tell them in private, but I…"

"I'll do whatever you want B, I understand what you're trying to say. It's easier to open up that way if you don't feel so alone." Blaine nodded before handing him another plate. "Just remember, your parents love you and nothing you tell them is going to change it."

When the two came walking back into the living room, it was clear to both of Blaine's parents that something was going on due to the hold Blaine had on Sebastian's hand and the look in both of their eyes. "Do you want us to go?" Patrick asked as he began to stand.

"No." Blaine replied. "Sit back down Dad." He continued as he and Sebastian got comfortable once again. "I need you both to promise me something."

"Anything Blaine." Kate told him as she felt Patrick's arm wrap around her.

"That you let me finish talking before either of you say anything."

"Blaine." Patrick said and the concern obvious in his voice. "What's going on?"

"I have something to tell you both that I probably should've told you a while ago. But considering the conversation we had last night, it's time you know everything." When his parents' eyes went to Sebastian, Blaine took a deep breath. "Bas already knows everything that I'm about to tell you. So, he's going to stay for this conversation." Both of his parents nodded and it was clear they were bracing themselves for the worst.

To set the tone for the brunt of the conversation, Blaine filled his parents in on everything that transpired on New Year's Eve. Needless to say, neither of his parents were happy in the slightest to hear that Kurt tried to hit Blaine or that he would've succeeded had Hunter not stopped him. Having that information certainly added clarity to the reason why Blaine now had a bodyguard on night's he was performing. Even though he'd asked his parents not to speak, after telling them that, he let them knowing they had to have a lot of questions. He then came to tell them that his request was made so he could say what was needed without interruption. Because if they had interrupted him, he wasn't sure if he would've been able to tell them what he was.

Yet once he began deflecting some of their questions, Sebastian slid his arms around him and held him close. Once his arms were around him, Sebastian felt Blaine relax a bit within them before taking a deep breath. "You can do this B." Sebastian said softly before kissing him on the cheek. "I'm not going anywhere." Blaine then took another deep breath before looking at his parents who he could tell were still processing what he'd told them.

"While what I just told you is probably hard to comprehend, there is still more, a lot more." Blaine then began to tell his parents about the breakdown of his marriage, this time around though he wasn't leaving out pertinent details. He wasn't even halfway through and his Mom was crying while his Dad was doing what he could to let Blaine finishing speaking. Hearing everything Blaine had gone through from being emotionally abandoned to the abuse they now knew why he'd changed as much as he had. By the time Blaine finished all four of them were crying as it was too much for Sebastian to hear again, not to mention the toll he saw it take on the Andersons. It also proved why Blaine really didn't want to talk about it often as he was now emotionally exhausted.

"Does anyone else know everything that happened besides those of us in this room?" Patrick asked as calmly as he could though one look at him there was no denying how angry and upset he was. Yet he tried to keep that internal as his focus was on his wife and son at that moment.

"My lawyer and my therapist." Blaine replied. "But, Wes and Hunter know that Kurt had hit me previously because of the way I reacted on New Year's Eve to what happened, as well as what Bas said to him specifically afterwards."

"What about the rest of the guys?" Kate asked as she wiped at her tears that were only now slowing.

"From what Wes has told us, they all feel something clearly happened during the marriage but they won't push." Sebastian told them. "From the get go, they've accepted it's best to let B open up to them on their own terms."

"Bas asked them not to push me for information before we all reconnected." Blaine continued. "And they've done just that. But you know Wes, he can only hold his tongue for so longer so he asked me about it and I confirmed it."

"And Hunter mentioned it to me."

"How did either of them take it?" Patrick asked.

"Wes wanted to go and have a few words with Kurt and it took quite a bit of persuasion to convince him to drop it." Blaine told them.

"And Hunter had an idea something like this had happened considering he's the one I vaguely vented to after B first told me. That meant he wasn't as shocked when I confirmed what he thought after New Year's Eve. I also think that's one of the reasons why his instincts were on high that evening knowing things could get ugly when Kurt saw the two of us together. If we weren't all in public that evening, who knows what Hunter might've done, as you could see in his eyes how pissed he was."

"It's because of those instincts that we know Kurt cheated on me." Blaine added.

"I don't want him ever to get near you again Blaine." Kate told him.

"I don't either Mom, but there really isn't any way to make that happen. Just know that Scott looks out for me when we're performing along with the rest of his new team. As for us running into each other, it's just something I have to deal with for the time being."

"Are you sure?" Once she asked, Blaine glanced back at Sebastian.

"He is as I've spoken with my Dad about it." Sebastian told them. "After New Year's Eve, I was pretty determined to do what I could to keep Kurt away from B so I called my Dad. But since Kurt really hasn't done anything besides be a pest, there isn't anything we can do. Yet my Dad told me that B needs to keep track of every interaction he has with Kurt so should something happen we have a record of behavior."

"That son-of-a-bitch hurt my son yet there is nothing to be done!" Patrick snapped, startling the three of them.

"There's nothing to be done Dad because I never filed a police report against him for anything he did to me. Maybe if I had…"

"This isn't your fault Blaine." Kate reassured him. "Know that. Right now your Dad and I have a lot to process. We only wish you'd opened up to us when it was happening."

"I was too embarrassed to, plus it didn't help that…"

"Don't you dare say you felt you deserved him laying a hand on you or any of the other behavior." Patrick stated. "No one ever deserves that Blaine. People make mistakes all the time and it's up to those in your life to either forgive you or move on. But nothing justifies the way he treated you. Not to mention the fact he was cheating on you. If he was so unhappy, he should've left you. Hell, he never should've agreed to marry you if he'd never forgiven you for your lapse of judgment." When Blaine looked back at Sebastian, the Andersons noticed Sebastian's hold around him had tightened.

"What aren't you telling us Blaine?" Kate asked as Patrick had to calm himself once again. "Sweetie, what is it?"

"That…" Blaine stopped and looked at Sebastian once more who proceeded to kiss him on the cheek.

"We have a theory." Sebastian stated. "That the reason Kurt didn't leave is he was determined to make Blaine continually pay for that one mistake. And since he knew Blaine still felt guilty, he could play on that guilt. He's quite the vindictive….you know what I'm trying to say."

"Then why is he coming around now?" Patrick asked.

"He's in disbelief how B's taken control of his life once again and now his career is taking off, something Kurt never believed would happen. Plus after the first time he ran into the guys after a show, his curiosity got the best of him as he saw the two of us, but didn't know it was me with Blaine."

"I need to ask this, but does Rachel know?"

"She has no clue Dad." Blaine told him. "I truly hid everything that was going on. For all she knew the reason I was becoming so quiet it was because I was losing my confidence on stage. As I said before, the only ones that know everything besides those of us in this room are my lawyer and therapist."

"What exactly do Wes and Hunter know?" Kate asked him.

"They know he hit me, plus all of the guys know he cheated on me. But they don't know about everything else as I wasn't comfortable saying more than confirming their presumptions about what had occurred." Once Blaine was finished, Sebastian kissed him on the cheek once more as they kept an eye on his parents. But after a bit of time, Blaine reached out and took ahold of his Mom's hand. "I'm sorry I dumped this all on you guys as this was supposed to be a fun weekend about you getting to know Bas better."

"Blaine, you never have to apologize for telling us anything." Patrick told him. "As your Mom stated earlier, we only wish you'd opened up to us sooner. But I understand you had to do this your way as you're not a child anymore."

"Thank you. I'd thought of telling you guys a few times but I, I couldn't do it."

"May I ask what prompted you to open up to Sebastian?" Kate asked him as she gave her son's hand a squeeze.

"Santana came over one day as she was concerned and as the conversation progressed, I got overwhelmed and left the room. Then when Bas came into the bedroom to check on me after she left, he found me crying. It came from me not wanting to speak poorly of Kurt as I really want to push everything from my mind. Not to mention after everything he'd said about me, it would just sound as though I was trashing him because I was upset and…" When Blaine's speech began speeding up, Sebastian tried to calm him down.

"Yet I told him, it wasn't trashing him if it was the truth." Sebastian said as Blaine composed himself. "Then slowly, he began opening up and by the time he was done he'd told me everything that had happened."

"Is that true Blaine?" Patrick asked as he looked at the two.

"Yes. Before I knew it, I was telling him everything and in the end, it was really cathartic for me. Needless to say, more than a few tears were shed that night between the two of us."

"That couldn't have been easy for either of you."

"The hardest thing was hearing everything that…" Sebastian took a deep breath because he feared saying anything inappropriate. "Hummel did to him. B's the one that lived through it which is the worst part."

"Is there anything we can do for you Blaine?"

"There really isn't anything to do Dad. Though, I hope you both know that just because I told you it doesn't mean this is something I want to really talk about again. I want to leave all this in the past and continue moving forward in my life."

"We do know and understand." Kate told him. "But I'm curious about one thing, are you going to tell Cooper?"

"I honestly don't know Mom." Yet before his Mom could reply, Blaine excused himself as his phone went off and it was Vincent on the other end. If it was anyone else, Blaine would've let it go to voicemail but he wasn't going to ignore a call from his manager.

"Is he really okay with all this Sebastian?"

"For the most part, I think he is." Sebastian replied as he watched Blaine walk towards the bedroom talking. While he probably wouldn't have answered this under normal circumstances, he and Blaine had actually discussed something like this happening earlier. It went to show how well Blaine knows his parents. "But I'm sure there will probably always be moments that cause him to react in a specific manner because of what's happened. Honestly, he's handled himself really well when he's seen him."

"How about you?" Patrick asked. "It couldn't have been easy to witness what happened on New Year's Eve."

"You're right, it wasn't. But in that moment, B was my only concern. Did I say a few things to Hummel, of course. But I couldn't help it considering how angry I was. And anyone that knows me wouldn't have expected me to act any different. Yet I certainly curbed my tongue because I know how B feels about all this. And if I said too much, probably more than Hunter and Wes would've started to put the pieces together."

"Since Blaine said Sam was there as well that evening, do you have any idea why he didn't pick up on what happened?" Patrick asked.

"From what we guessed, it was that he was trying to calm Rachel down as the whole scene really threw her for a loop." Sebastian told them. "The last thing she ever expected was Hummel to try and hit Blaine."

"I can't believe we had no clue this was happening to him." Kate said.

"As B's put it, he put up a good front as no one close to him had a clue. Rachel and Santana were around them all the time and had no clue. The only thing they both noticed was B closing in on himself and his lack of confidence when he got on stage." Sebastian told them. "They couldn't put a finger on it, but they knew something was wrong. And the only answer they ever got from Hummel was that Blaine was feeling down because he wasn't the center of attention any longer and was having problems adapting."

"That's a bunch of…" Patrick didn't finish as Blaine came walking back out into the living room. "What's going on son?"

"Vincent was calling to ask if I was home because he has some papers he needs to drop off for me to read." Blaine told him before sitting back down next to Sebastian. "Did you have a nice talk about me once I left?"

"Blaine, we…." Blaine put a hand up as his Mom began to apologize.

"It's okay Mom, honest. Bas and I talked about it beforehand as I knew you'd ask about me. And knowing Bas the way I do, he wouldn't answer questions about me, even to you without my approval." Blaine then turned his head to kiss Sebastian on the cheek. "Now, since Vincent is coming by and I have some things to read it is up to the two of you if you want to stick around or go out exploring the city."

"Would us being here bother either of you?" Kate asked and the two boys exchanged looks before shaking their heads. "Are you sure?"

"Positive Mom. And with the two of you staying as soon as Bas and I are done we can all go out and do something."

"If you want something to do, I did promise to show you the pictures I took of Blaine." Sebastian told her. "And there are plenty to go through."

"Is that so?" Kate asked with a smile.

"Guilty as charged." Sebastian replied. "I couldn't help myself." When Blaine laughed softly, his Dad looked directly at him and cocked an eyebrow.

"What?" Blaine asked.

"It's nice seeing you both so comfortable around us." Patrick said. "Now, since we're going to be waiting for Vincent. Sebastian why don't you get those pictures pulled up so we can start going through them while the two of you get on with your day."

"Sounds good." Sebastian replied before going to get the external drive he had all the pictures on.

Once Sebastian had the Andersons set-up, he and Blaine got settled as well as he was going to work on a new arrangement while Sebastian studied. While they waited for Vincent, Blaine and Sebastian exchanged numerous looks as his parents spoke while looking through the pictures. It wasn't long after they got started did Blaine tell them that there was a notepad nearby so they could jot down the numbers of the pictures they wanted Sebastian to copy for them.

With the others in the apartment, Blaine didn't hesitate to put his headphones on after a bit as he had a feeling it wouldn't be long till his parents began asking questions. So when there was a knock at the door, Sebastian didn't hesitate to answer it. Upon opening it, Vincent smiled before Sebastian invited him in after replying that Blaine was working. When they walked into the apartment, Vincent said hello to Blaine's parents while Sebastian let Blaine know he'd arrived. "Hey!" Blaine said as he set his headphones beside him. He then looked at the thick envelope in Vincent's hand. "That's a lot of reading."

"I know, but I marked the important parts as lots of it is legal mumble-jumble." Once he spoke, he noticed Sebastian looking at him. "Yes, I know Blaine's still going to read the whole thing but this way he can get the gist of it before getting into the rest. And so you know, a copy has already been sent over to your legal team."

"What's it detailing?" Blaine asked as he took the envelope from him.

"It's essentially outlining how this summer is going to go."

"My vacation after graduation, is accounted for, correct?"

"Yes. Those ten days are accounted for. Just remember, that the day after you come back you guys are going into the last push of rehearsals before you leave."

"I know." Blaine replied before glancing at Sebastian who was standing beside his parents. "Anything else?"

"The label has decided that they'd like to release your first single before you hit the road."

"Which song?"

"That's still being decided, but once that decision is made they want to make a video to accompany the release."

"Really?"

"Yes, really." Vincent told him. "And while you think recording sessions can be a bit stressful, video shoots are an entity of their own."

"Better or worse?"

"That'll all depend on the concept that they come up with." When Blaine looked at him, Vincent smiled. "Yes, you'll get a say into what the video looks like."

"Are you sure?" Sebastian asked.

"Yes, I'm positive Sebastian." Vincent replied. "And when Blaine signed his deal, his lawyers made it clear from the get-go that he has a say in song release, video, and how he's marketed."

"Told you the lawyer your Dad recommended was good." Blaine told Sebastian with a smile. "He listened to me and made sure I got what I wanted. While all this is wonderful, I don't want to be turned into something or someone that I'm not." While he spoke, his parents could only look at each other and smile as they were both so proud of Blaine in that moment. So many people would be willing to throw away who they are to achieve success, but Blaine wasn't. He was going to stay true to himself.
