Hey all! Sorry for the late update! Many things happened around me and my beloved laptop and my parents. Now, I'm sorry again, but this chapter is unbeta'ed. I suddenly lost contact with Oracleshadow and she still haven't answered my e-mails from December 23rd. So... yeah. Sorry for all grammar mistakes and typos.
And, this chapter is dedicated to Knight Yuuki, who gave me little one-shot at IG(That angst...), and Matrixim who supported me with Knight Yuuki at IG. Hope you two could enjoy this~ And to let you all know, I'm not planning to change my Beta yet until she tell me herself that she cannot Beta my story anymore.
A shame because I wrote two AkaKuro one-shot that will become part of my AkaKuro collection stories involving many AU and their life in those AU. No more secret, the name of the collection is Our Eternal Love Story (Cheesy, but I don't care anymore now~) Note that all stories will be published as one-shot and not related to each
other (If it does, I tell you all of course)
Edit : This chapter is already beta'ed by C.C Brittania
Alright, I'm done with the self-promotion, on with the story! Again, sorry for any mistakes!
Chapter 8 :Their Contract –How To Sever It-
Almost a month and half has passed since Akashi and Kuroko's meeting,, since both of them started their contract. While Kuroko finally got a moment of peace, at least from the hunters, inside the castle, a sudden mission came from the King directly to their captain.
"A mission at this time... Tetsuya, call all of them here. We will hold a mission briefing." Akashi commanded. He immediately burned the sealed letter from the king to ashes before walking outside. Leaving Kuroko alone in the office.
"A... mission briefing?" Kuroko asked, before Akashi's memories around mission briefing answered his question. "I see..." He mumbled. Kuroko walked outside, not forgetting to lock the door, and went to the nearest office. Midorima's office. Kuroko knocked twice, and a voice telling him to come in was heard.
Kuroko opened the doo and walked in. After stopping right in front of Midorima's desk, he bowed. "Good morning, Midorima-kun. I'm sorry to disturb you." Kuroko greeted.
"No, it's alright. What is it, Kuroko?" Midorima asked.
"Akashi-kun has ensued a command for everyone to gather at our office. A mission briefing." Kuroko said, and Midorima brows furrowed.
"A mission when the hunters just attacked Akashi's office? Kuroko, do you know something about this?" Midorima asked.
"I'm sorry, but I also don't know any details regarding the mission." Kuroko answered. "Then, Midorima-kun. I still have to notify Kise-kun, Aomine-kun and Murasakibara-kun. If you would excuse me."
"Yes. I will be in your office shortly." Midorima said, and Kuroko bowed before leaving. The next office was Aomine's. Like before, he knocked twice but this time there was no answer from the other side.
"The door isn't locked." Kuroko mumbled.
'That could only mean...'
Kuroko opened the door and walked in. Looking at the state of the office, Kuroko's prediction was true. The navy haired vampire were sleeping soundly on his couch . Several stacks of paper were filling the office, same thing could be said about the state of his desk. . Kuroko walked to the workdesk, and checked all the drawers. Sure enough, he found an... indecent magazine.
Kuroko sighed, before moving to wake Aomine.
"Aomine-kun." Kuroko said while shaking Aomine's body, but there was no reaction from the tanned man.
"Aomine-kun!" Kuroko said, this time louder and shaking him harder. This got a slight reaction, but Aomine didn't wake up.
"Aomine-kun, I just saw a blonde with big bust, curvy body and long legs in front of your office." Kuroko tried, and Aomine immediately jumped, his eyes practically shining with drool dripping from his mouth.
"Where? Where? Is that Anna? Or Bella? Or Steph? Or maybe my fan?" Aomine asked, his eyes scanning the room.
"Aomine-kun, there is no Anna, Bella, Steph or your fan in here. Please sit properly because I'm here in regards to Akashi-kun's order." At the mention of Akashi, Aomine ran to his desk and sat in the seat while pretending to do his work.
"So? What was Akasi's order?" Aomine asked, lifting his feet to the table like someone that owns the world.
"I said, sit properly." Kuroko commanded, and Aomine immediately sat like a proper lady.
"Y...Your voice... It became a command..."
"Now, Aomine-kun. Akashi-kun has ensued an order to gather at our office," Kuroko said while pointing himself, referring to his and Akashi's office. "Right away. It's a mission briefing."
"Kay... Be there soon." Aomine said. Kuroko nodded then bowed, before going to the next office, Kise's. Kuroko knocked twice rather hesitantly because of what happened after Kise found out about the barrier but he received a cheerful voice saying to come in. It has been more than a week, so Kise's voice could be used already.
"Kise-kun, I just wanted to tell you that Akashi-kun has summoned all of us to gather at mine and Akashi-kun's office for a mission briefing. Sorry for the disturbance." Kuroko said from the doorway.
"Briefing? Sure. I'll be there." Kise said while smiling, but his eyes didn't leave his work.
"Those women?"
"Ah... I'll be sure to wake them soon. I'm certain their body's weak after I drained their blood." Kise said as he looked away, smiling at the two of them.
'Ah... It already passed the one-month punishment without any blood supplies.' Kuroko thought before taking a step back.
p "Yeah... Good luck with your work." Kuroko said and bowed, then he left for the last office, Murasakibara's. However, before Kuroko could arrive at his office, about one meter away, his movement was stopped abruptly.
"A barrier? What is this sweet scent? Candy?" Kuroko asked as he inspected what had just hindered his way. "It's quite strong, but..." Kuroko said as he placed his palm at the barrier. It dissolved and made way for Kuroko to walk through. "I can still breach it."
'Without a doubt, the one who put up this barrier is Murasakibara-kun, but for what reason?'
"Murasakibara-kun? I'm coming in..." Kuroko said as he entered Murasakibara's office.
"Eh? Kuro-chin? How can you come in here? I already placed a barrier." Murasakibara asked. In his hands was lollipop candy.
"Of course I passed through the barrier, Murasakibara-kun. Why did you put a barrier? If anyone wants to pass, it will be a hindrance to them." Kuroko asked.
"Eh? But... Kuro-chin already here... And they're connected..." Murasakibara mumbled. "It's because I don't want Aka-chin to see my office..." Murasakibara admitted, and Kuroko only nodded. Murasakibara's room were full of snacks, particularly candy. That would explain the sweet scent Kuroko caught from earlier..
"Anyway, since I already know right now, I'm sure Akashi-kun also knows." Kuroko said. "Akashi-kun has ordered all of us to gather at the office. A mission briefing." He explained.
"Hmm? Okay..." Murasakibara said. Kuroko then excused himself and met Akashi at the main corridor leading to their office.
"Akashi-kun, good work. I'm just done notifying the member about the briefing." Kuroko said, walking beside Akashi. Looking from his side, Kuroko saw that Akashi looked more tired than usual. His eyebags were visible and he's getting thinner. Despite the fact that he is tired he still looks dashing and handsome, Kuroko noted.
"I see." Akashi said as he stopped, looking at Kuroko intently. Kuroko lets him, although when his eyes meets Akashi's, he cannot help but stare. Something inside him twisted when he almost lost himself at those pretty eyes, effectively waking him from his trance. "Ah... I'm sorry for staring..." Kuroko said as he looked away.
Akashi touched Kuroko's cheek, sliding his thumb over it, then stopped at Kuroko's chin. "It's alright. I do not mind." Akashi purred. He stared into Kuroko's eyes a while longer before breaking the contact and taking a few steps back. "Tetsuya, wear the uniform's jacket. You look cold." He commanded.
"Ah... yes, sure." Kuroko said. Akashi smiled softly at Kuroko, before ruffling his hair. "Oh and I forgot to tell you about Murasakibara-kun and his..."
"I know." Akashi cut him off. "I felt your challenged feeling when you hit his barrier."
"You can even feel something like that?" Kuroko asked curiously.
"Yeah, even what you are feeling deep in here," Akashi touched Kuroko's heart. "And even when you don't realize that feeling, I'm still able to feel it." Akashi explained.
"There is really no privacy between us." Kuroko said.
You knew that already ."
"Yes. No lies and no privacy." Kuroko said while smiling softly.
"If you understand then all's good. Let's go." Akashi said as he took Kuroko's hand and both of them began walking together. Kuroko opened the lock and both of them went inside. Kuroko immediately looked for his jacket at his desk but he couldn't find it. He became frantic and started searching for it everywhere. Akashi just watched with amusement while Kuroko ransacked their office.
"You forgot your jacket?" Akashi asked. "You're not living in the forest anymore, but the dormitory is quite far from here. Here, wear this." Akashi said, giving him his spare jacket. Smiling a little from remembering Kuroko's particularly 'far home' when he offered to take Kuroko back to his home when they first met.
"Ah, thank you." Kuroko murmured softly as he wore Akashi's jacket. The thought of wearing someone else's clothes was unusual, so he ignored the fluttering feeling he felt.
Fifteen minutes later, they were all gathered at Akashi's and Kuroko's office. Without furter ado, Akashi started explaining the details of the mission.
"The mission itself is not that hard. We just have to kill one of the hunters' 32 Pillars of Beginning, the fifteenth, code name is Kenji." Akashi explained.
Piece of Information:
32 Pillars of Beginning in Hunter Association is the very first hunters that made the association, there are thirty-two hunters, ranked by their individual strength and team work.
"One of the Pillars? That is quite a mission. The reason?" Midorima asked.
"He likes to kill. Not just vampires, but humans too. The obvious sign of his works is that his victim's brain and other one part of their body, would be found gone."
"Brain? Eww... This guy has a bad taste. If it were me, I would only kill women with small breast and leave the big busted in my side." Aomine commented.
"Before Akashi-kun decides to kick you out of here, let me say that he and I don't need your indecent comments." Kuroko monotonously said behind Akashi.
"Thank you, Tetsuya. Now, continuing," Akashi said, and Aomine was left out sulking in the corner. "We need to kill him without raising any suspicion and of course, keep it clean. Retrieve as much information as you can before killing him. For this, I have decided that Ryouta and Daiki will be the ones to partake in this mission."
"Okay... What's mine and Kise's job then?"
"Ryouta will be the one drawing information, using his face of course, and you will be the one to do the killing together with him. Lay low and do not create any ruckus." Akashi said. "We're fortunate that this Kenji doesn't know Kise's face, he knows mine and Shintarou's."
"We will send our status report to you every six hours, as always." Kise said, completely serious. Aomine, who grew curious, poked him.
"Hey, what's wrong with you today? Usually you would start making jokes and such." Aomine asked.
"I'm afraid of Akashicchi and Kurokocchi! They punished me without a reason! I was mute for a week and those girls didn't gave any of their blood for a month because of something I don't even know!" Kise exclaimed. His memories regarding that false assumption were erased by Kuroko using his voice, while Aomine was made to swear an oath that he wouldn't tell anyone about that... incident.
"Ah right..." Aomine said. Remembering how scary the newly wed duo were when Kuroko started chanting some spell in an alien language, and Akashi at his back staring at him with a deadly aura around him. Aomine sighed,
'Though knowing your personality, after another week, you will go back to the usual you.'
"Dismissed!" Akashi's word effectively distracted Aomine from his thought regarding the blonde's action. "Daiki and Ryouta, prepare yourself. Both of you will leave in two hours." Akashi commanded.
"Yes." All of them, excluding Akashi, said in unison.
Kuroko walked around the building, having completed his tasks. Akashi was nowhere to be seen so he wandered, intending to find the library because he had heard that this place also has a library, though not big. After fifteen minutes of searching, he finally found it. He walked inside before noticing that there were two other occupants in the library, conversing.
"Why?" One of the two asked. Kuroko then looked around and found Midorima and Akashi beside each other. Something inside him stung, but he ignored it, more interested on hearing what those two are talking about.
"It's because he was dying. He's too precious to die there. He's special, and I knew that right from the first time I laid my eyes on him." Akashi replied Midorima's question.
"You bound him with a contract without his consent!? Why?"
"We have our own reason. You don't need to know, Shintarou."
"But you do know now right? That contract have been unbreakable. Should have been unbreakable! No lie could pass through that contract! But now... Now that the two of you have the same power..."
"I know, Shintarou. I also didn't expect that the power we will share is the power of my voice."
"Your command can forcibly make the target's mind and body move just the way you wish it to. It controls everything and anything and the soul binding contract is not an exception." Midorima explained. "If one of you said a lie in that commanding voice, the 'should be unbreakable' contract would break, and the one that will die is the person who ensued that command."
"I know all of the risk and the outcome, Shintarou. I know. As long as none of us says a lie, we will be fine. I won't lie. I can't lie even if I want to. Not to him. He will know right away if I tell him any lie." Akashi said.
"I just wanted to tell you that. Let's go back. I'm sure that you also still have many tasks to finish."
"Yes." Akashi said, and Kuroko instinctively hid. After he heard the door being closed, he sighed and let the new information sink into his brain.
'The voice power could affect our contract.'
'It could control anything and everything, without any exception.'
'One lie, and this contract would break.'
"Akashi-kun..." Kuroko muttered under his breath. "His feeling was distorted when he was talking with Midorima-kun. A mix of anger, sadness, and... fear." He said, voice barely a whisper. He placed his hand on the place where Akashi touched earlier, his heart. "So that's why there should be no lie between us. One wrong move and..."
If one of you said a lie in that commanding voice, the should be unbreakable contract would break, and the one that will die is the person who ensued that command.
