I'm still alive,I was kidnapped but after so much torture and insults and just plain annoyance, they couldn't take it and let me go. Work and all that stuff can be a pain in the bum but then what is life without a good swift kick once in a while. Anyway the votes are now closed and the results are CamiXTuffnut, ThuggoryXOC and HeatherXOC. If you didn't know about the vote, I did explain in the last chapter about it, so no excuses. Anyway, were finally moving away from Bark and on towards adventure. But first theres a pain in the arse dragon to deal with, lets see how this pans out. Enjoy.

Chapter 15 Here comes the boom!

The forge Gobber POV

*Bang! Clank! Bang! Clank!*

"It feel so different without the lad's quick-witted attitude aroun ere" I sighed as I pounded away at a bent sword.

It had only been a day since Hiccup and the others escaped on their dragons, now most of you would think I would be like the others in this village.

Mad. Betrayed. Relived. Angry.

Me? Well strange thing is, I feel sad and happy.

Sad that it had come to this, sad for Hiccup because he never deserved any of this.

And happy because Hiccup got his freedom with the love of his life.

Funny enough, Alfsted and Helga didn't seem too hurt when they saw Astrid fly off on that Nadder that was supposed to of escaped over a week ago.

And funny enough I know why.

But my thoughts are dragged away as I hear a squeak of the floorboards indicating new weight has stepped on them.

I turn around to see a worn out Stoick, his usual red braided beard was in a mess like it was never combed this morning, his horned helmet tilted to one side and by the looks of the bags under his eye's, has been a long tiring day for the chief.

"Rough day?" I said casually as I carried on with my work.

Rubbing the bridge of his nose while closing his eyes, Stoick sighed "I had to calm the whole village last night and throughout the morning, they were scared that dragons, were going to take the other kids too"

Shaking my head as put the newly straightened sword into the fire to heat up, still not looking at Stoick "I don' think yer son would come back an do tha" I said with confidence in my voice, I know Hiccup would never force people to do anything, he's a born leader granted, but not by force, the others who escaped with him left with determination rather than fear, they wanted to go with him, especially Astrid.

What I heard made me stop what I was doing as I heard a growl coming in the direction of the chief.

"Don't mention that traitor to me like that!" I hear Stoick angrily shout, I knew what was coming next.

"I have no so…"

*Whack!*

Stoick was on the floor in shock as I stand over him shaking my fist after giving him a hard punch to the face giving him an angry glare to rival his own.

"Don' ye ever! Say tha near me again Stoick! Ye might be my chief, bu I'll still give ya a beating fer even sayin somethin like tha abou Hiccup!" I shouted making other villagers near the forge freeze in their tracks, they never saw me get angry like this before, even after they mocked me about the Boneknapper chasing after me.

I hurriedly hobbled to the backroom where Hiccups stuff laid, as I grabbed a particular book off one of the shelves before heading back to the main room to where a still startled Stoick was slowly getting up, I hobbled over to him and shoved the book into his hands before looking into his eyes, trying to keep my glare up.

"Ye want ta know how the lad felt most of his life? Read this!" I said sharply as I turn around to get the now glowing sword from the fire so I could carry on repairing it "leave yer hammer on the table an I'll get to it in a bit" I said calmly. Stoick might be my best friend and chief but that doesn't mean he can get his arse kicked.

"Okay Gobber" Stoick said sadly knowing he pissed me off with his rant "I'll read it after chiefdom training with Snotlout, after all he is the heir now and he'll be chief someday"

That last bit made me shudder "no offense Stoick, but the day I accept tha Jorgenson brat as chief of Berk will be the day I kiss Mildew fully on the lips" I said trying not to gag, but I'd rather do that than see that arrogant little shit take the throne, and Stoick knew this, he sighs and slowly walks out of the forge so I could get back to my work.

I know in my heart Hiccup would make one hell of a chief, he's smart, agile, and always wants to see peace but still will defend those he loves.

It's a shame the village that wouldn't see all this is the village he was born and raised in thanks to the idiots around here.

Maybe one day.

Looking at the back room of Hiccup's I know what has to be done as I see the empty basket sitting on the bed.

Two more days till I see the lad again.

And at that thought, I smile.

Several Islands Away Hiccup POV

Looking at my left arm to see the healing symbol left by Gothi the night before, the Berk crest, usually saved for future chiefs.

But why tattoo it on my arm? Knowing my knowledge on this it was a mark temporarily left on the forehead then tattooed later on the chest next to the heart, indicating the heart of a chief.

Why did she give me this in the first place? Surely I would be the last person to receive this, being a traitor of Berk.

And why does it look incomplete? Looking closer at the healing mark, two lines sticking out of it like its connecting to something else.

Wrapping my head around this one thing alone I don't see the blond shield maiden sit next to me until she gently took my left hand too look at the mark herself.

"Still wondering why Gothi gave you that?" Astrid asked as she looked at the mark then looked at me with a genuine smile, to which I replied with a nod.

The second we escaped the ring and the others got their bag from their hiding spots, strange how they knew that we wouldn't be heading to the cove straight away, we headed north away from Berk to settle on a land called Sunstone Island, It was far from Berk so it would take days by long boat to reach us but short for us to head back to the cove and get our things back in a couple of days. I was a beautiful island with an amazing beach, plant life and whole array of minerals to which Meatlug nearly thought she died and went to Valhalla the way her eyes widened with delight.

Most of the plan to escape went off without a hitch except one thing I forgot which I face palmed myself for after we landed.

I forgot to pick up my camping bag!

But fortunately to mine and her delight, and a few wolf whistles from the others, Astrid openly volunteered to share her blankets with me, on the condition that there would be no hanky panky.

Astrid pouted at that but agreed.

What? You thought Astrid was the one to set that?

True that I do want her to be the one to take my virginity but we're both still young, and I don't want to take her purity, yet.

Although I know milady, if she had her way I'd be walking funny for a very long time afterwards.

But back to the matter at hand as I put those memories in the back of my mind.

"It seems strange she gave me the mark of the chief, and on the arm, what does it all me Astrid?" I said hoping she had an answer.

She shrugged not knowing herself "who knows what goes through the mind of an elder who can foresee peoples futures"

I nodded in agreement knowing what she meant, it was said fifteen years ago, Gothi took a vow of silence, but no one knew why, most could only guess.

Some would say that when her powers grew too strong, she took a vow of silence so she didn't kill anyone.

Some said her voice was so powerful that it could drive any Viking insane, like their personality couldn't get any more insane as it is.

One that stuck out the most was by Snotlout who stated that the reason never speaks is because when I was born, I was so small that it literally left her speechless and my father made up the vow of silence to avoid embarrassment for the Haddock clan, with my low confidence before all this happened, I believed him, but now I have a feeling something entirely different about it, yet I have a feeling it does involve me but not in the way Snotlout said it was.

One day I'll find out.

But for now I have some planning to do before we go back to the cove, a plan that if done right will benefit everyone…..

Including the dragons.

Two Days Later, the Cove, Normal POV

The cove was quiet and dark by the time the sound of leathery wings and small growls could be heard in the area as the five teens and their dragons, minus the Nightmare who wanted to stay behind, not wanting to go near Berk in case they tried to capture him again.

The five teens look around to both look around and to find their stuff, as they spot them they decide to land feeling still in defense in case they were being watch.

Unfortunately they were, but fortunately it was faces they could trust.

As Hiccup looks through one of the baskets to make sure all their stuff was there, he hears rustling from a nearby bush.

Hiccup quickly unfolds his scimitars in a defensive stance looking at the bush in question "who's there?!" he says trying to keep levelheaded but smile as he hears a familiar voice.

"Take a wild guess" Gobber replies as he exits the bush followed by Aflsted and Helga Hofferson, Gothi and young Gustav who all were looking at the teens with smiles on their faces.

Hiccup and the other however looked confused "Gobber! What are you lot doing here?" Hiccup said looking around in case there were others ready to jump out only for Gobber to laugh and wave his hand and hook about.

"Don' worry lad it's just us, the others are on long boats or in the village in case of a dragon raid" Gobber reassured the defensive teens, of course he would understand them being a little on edge since most of everyone branded the teens as traitors.

Hiccup and Astrid who looked to each other before looking towards Gobber and her parents and then to theirs dragons who sniffed the air and found no trace of anyone else giving the teens a sigh of relief before putting their weapons away.

"An' as fer us being here? We came to give ya the rest of yer stuff fer yer future journies" Gobber said as he held something underneath his arm smiling at Hiccup and the teens but mainly Hiccup.

Hiccup didn't fail to notice this "Err Gobber, what's that under your arm?" he asks the two limbed mentor of his.

Gobber's smile faded into a frown, making Hiccup a little nervous.

"I'm sorry Hiccup, but ye can't be my apprentice anymore" he said putting much sorrow into the words making Hiccup go wide-eyed at what was just said to him.

He knew he was banished but he always thought he would always be Gobbers apprentice for a very long time.

But what Hiccup failed to notice as he was trying to wrap his head around all this was that a sly smirk spread across Gobber's face.

"An' tha's because ye have learnt as much as I can teach ye Hiccup!" Gobber carried on as his former apprentice of ten years stood there mouth hanging wide open in shock.

Gobber who took this as a sign to hand Hiccup the thing that was under his arm which was a wooden box.

Hiccup recovered from his shock just in time to grab the box, which was heavy as he found out when nearly toppled over and slowly open it only to finds out why it was so heavy.

Inside the box was a brand new hammer, different sized tongs and a pair of leather gloves, Hiccup was speechless but was absolutely stunned when out of the corner of his eyes he saw young Gustav walk up to him, holding out a black leather apron, it looked brand new, not a scorch mark whatsoever, well you wouldn't be able to see it anyway, not even any loose stitching's out of place, but what caught h

Hiccups eyes as he picked up the apron was the front, it had the strike class symbol stitched in bright red. Hiccup looked from the apron to the tools to a beaming Gobber.

"Congratulations Hiccup" Gobber said smiling with pride "yer now an official blacksmith". At this point Hiccups eyes started to water as he smiled, Hiccup didn't know what to say about this.

So he didn't say anything, he just ran up to his former mentor and gave him a hug, to which Gobber returned the favor.

As the two shared a kind of father/son moment together, even if they aren't father and son, the other teens looked round to see if anyone else was in the cove.

Alfsted knew why they were looking and let out a cough to catch their attention.

"Err I know what you're looking for, but sadly they couldn't be here tonight" he said which made Fishlegs and the twin hold their heads down and frowned, they thought that their parents were ashamed of them for siding with Hiccup.

Alfsted only waved at them realizing what they must be thinking "on no no no, it's not like that, they had to go with the search party so Stoick didn't get suspicious, me and Helga got an excuse as we 'mourned' from what happened" he said gesturing to Astrid who realized what he was on about and gave him a deadpan look.

"Hey, you just gestured to all of me!" Astrid retorted then smirked as her parents laughed.

"Oh boy Astrid, I know you love Hiccup but now you're even picking up his sayings" Helga said trying to hold back a giggle as her daughter kept the smirk upon her face.

"Well I had to pick up a few things from him considering he picked up his anger from me, that right tree killer?" Astrid replied as he pointed at Hiccup who at this point broke from his hug and gave his girlfriend a glare.

"It only happened once…." He said trying to hold his frown before smirking "besides the tree had it coming after whacking me" he finished off as Astrid rolled her eyes and shook her head causing all to laugh, even the dragons.

After a short while Gobber broke the laughter and sighed before looking at Hiccup again "ye know lad, it'll be awfully quiet without ye aroun the village causing so much chaos with ye crazy inventions, an without ye as my apprentice, it'll be hard work te keep up with the work that will pile up" Gobber said finishing off with a sigh.

Hiccup couldn't feel but guilty that he was going to leave Gobber with all that until he smiled as an idea came into his head "Gobber, I have an idea" he said to his former mentor as he went towards Gustav and brought him towards Gobber "Gobber, meet your new apprentice" he finished off by gesturing to the young boy to which Gobber and Gustav looked shock.

Gobber was about to protest but Hiccup beat him to it "look I know it'll be a pain to train up a new apprentice however, I have personally trained Gustav here in the basics of blacksmithing, among other things, so you can teach him all the stuff you know" Hiccup paused remembering something he had in one of the saddle bags strapped to Toothless, grabbing an item wrapped in paper, he then rushed back to the confused Gobber as Hiccup handed him the wrapped item "And something to keep you occupied for the future" Hiccup said smiling as Gobber removed the paper wrapping the item to reveal a book?

Gobber looked baffled as to why Hiccup gave him a book, he was a Viking! Vikings aren't big readers.

Hiccup saw the baffled look on Gobbers face and smiled before turning the first page to reveal a drawing.

Seeing Gobber still baffled, Hiccup rolls his eyes before explaining what was in the book "okay Gobber, by the look on your face you're either confused about what these drawings mean, or you need to use an outhouse" he said with a smirk before getting a backhand to the head, rubbing the back of his head he decides to carry on "okay Gobber, let me ask you what you see when you look at this drawing?" Hiccup asked as Gobber takes a close look at the drawing in question.

"A stone like tower?" Gobber replies earning a nod from Hiccup.

"And?"

Gobber looks again "Four wing like things?"

Hiccup just rolls his eyes at this "sails"

"Huh?" Gobber confusingly says as he looks at Hiccup.

"Those wings are sails, they pick up the wind which makes it move, now what else do you see" Hiccup explains wanting Gobber to see everything.

Gobber takes a look again noticing a few others things.

"Well I also see, those gears of yers connected te some sort of sticks" Gobber finishes off seeing nothing else on the page except for a picture of a lake.

"They're pipes Gobber, hollow cylinder bars designed for transferring liquids, you see this whole thing is designed to use the power of the wind to pump water from a fresh source of water directly to the village, saving having to travel back and forth to get fresh water or to keep digging out wells every three summers. It could also be used as a way of putting out fires easier or even for water plants" Hiccup said hoping any of his words got through.

Gobber meanwhile was shocked at a design Hiccup did, in his mind it would make sense, but now another question was burning through his head as he flip through each page at every detailed design of other ways these thing could benefit Berk.

"W-why?" was all Gobber said still looking through the pages as Hiccup gave him a questionable look, Gobber decided to carry on with his question "why would ye do this fer the village tha fer most of yer life treated ya like shite?" Gobber was thinking that Hiccup would realize his mistake and take the books back, so was surprised when Hiccup pushed the book more towards him and smiled.

"True most of the villagers did treat me like that, but if I was petty as them I wouldn't be me" Hiccup said seriously as he looks among everyone in the cove "besides, not everyone despises me, just a large population" he finished with a smirk.

Gobber at this point could only laugh as he places his arm around Hiccups should as they walked away from the group to discuss the workings of each design, Gustav in toe who was prompted by Hiccup to join them.

Meanwhile Alfsted and Helga was looking at each other as they head back to the bushes they came out of producing three packages handing them each to Fishlegs and the twins "your parents wanted us to give you these since they couldn't give them to you themselves" Alfsted said as he watch the confused looking teens ripped off the packaging to which they turned their confused faces into that of smiles.

The twins each got identical items, a yak fur coat each and identical medallions containing dragon's teeth, they remembered the fur coat as a present over the sadness they felt when their parents had to send their pet yak away, as well as some delicious yak burgers that night, yeah go figure where those came from.

The teeth were a big memory, you see the night the twins were born, there had been a raid that very night, as their mother was having contractions, a Monstrous Nightmare burst through their house which meant their father and uncles tried to get it out to no real success, it was only till their mother was so pissed off because the dragon was taking up everyone attention that she stood up, ran towards the dragon in question and punched it square in the jaw so hard, several teeth fell out, I will tell you, never ever piss off Dara Thorston if you ever want to chew food again.

Fishlegs looked at his items with excitement, to others they looked like normal books, but to Fishlegs they were what he always wanted.

Three leather bound books, one had a picture of a flower printed on it which indicated the book was to do with plants and flowers, the third was a blank book but the printing on the front showed Viking details with a black dragon painted in the center, it looked exactly like the book of dragons, he always wanted to rewrite the book now he knew so much more about them and now this book would give him a chance to.

The final book was kind of odd, it looked worn with bits of paper sticking out of it, looking inside revealed what could only be described as charts and dates, like it was some sort calendar to certain events, Helga saw this and laughed, earning the attention of Fishlegs.

"Ah your father's book, I see he's passed it on down to you Fishlegs" she said watching the said boy looked confused again until Helga took the book from him "you see Fishlegs, Boris Ingerman was just like you when he was your age, fascinated with books and dragons, however his main hobby was to document the dragon raid activity to see if there is any changes to their pattern" she said as she turn the aged pages about "as you see the raid had gotten worse over time, but couldn't understand the pattern as to why they raided, he searched for hours, days, weeks, months even years to find the answer, but to no avail, he still didn't know why" she finished off as she closed the book and handed it back to Fishlegs before sighing wondering if they'll ever find out.

"The queen"

Everyone turned around to look at where the voice came from for it to come from the blond-haired shield maiden.

"What queen dear?" Helga asked her daughter wondering what she meant.

Astrid took a deep breath before beginning her encountering in the nest when Toothless took them there only to be confronted by the Red Death and how they escaped before she could eat them, earning a worried look from her parents and a gasped from the other teens, even Gobber and Gustav fell silent as they overheard Astrids telling of the event in question.

For a while they all fell silent afterwards until Fishlegs broke the silence.

"Of course! That would all make sense, this Red Death is like a queen bee and the dragons who raid are her drones" he said pounding his fist into his hands as he comes to the realization.

"Yeah and if what you described the size of the head, indicates the dragons body is the size of that very mountain" Ruffnut surprisingly said earning stunned looks from everyone except her brother who carried on after her.

"Good thing we never found the nest otherwise everyone would be dead by now, hell it could destroy the village just by farting!" Tuffnut said earning questionable looks from everyone "what? It could happen"

Everyone faced palmed themselves at Tuffnuts reference to Red Deaths size.

"They have a point…" Hiccup said breaking the silence and making everyone turn to face him.

"Really Hiccup? Ya think this big dragon has the power te destroy Berk jus by blowing one off?" Gobber said with a raised eyebrow.

Hiccup dragged his hand across his hair out of frustration "no, not that! I meant that the dragons are drones, and this giant dragon forces them to get her food, which means she gets bigger" Hiccup then turns to Fishlegs to address him "Fish, look in your dads note and tell me, how bad has it gotten with the raids in the past twenty years?" Hiccup asked Fishlegs to which Fishlegs nods and starts to scroll through the pages looking back at past raids to the present day.

"Well according to this, from the start of the twenty years they only had a couple of raids every three months, but as the years go by the amount of raids start to increase till we get to our present time to having a raid a couple of times a week" Fishlegs said as he skimmed through the pages.

Hiccup after hearing this information realized how bad it had a gotten, thinking inside his head he had come to the conclusion that he had been battling inside his mind.

Turning towards everyone with a serious face.

"It's time guys" Hiccup simply said as the four teens nodded and headed for their stuff to attach to their dragons.

Astrid hugged her parents before joining the others in getting ready but she did notice her parents walking up to Hiccup to ask if they could speak to him to which he nodded and followed them to the other side of the cove.

Once getting there both of Astrid parents looked at the young boy who would have been their son-in-law at some point making Hiccup feel nervous.

"Listen Mr and Mrs Hofferson, I'm sorry it had to come to all this, I-I never wanted Astrid to ruin her reputation as a shield maiden, but she has her own say in whatever she wants to do, and if I denied her then I wouldn't be respecting her wishes, she is my equal and…." Hiccup was interrupted by embracing hug from both parents shocking him a bit before they released him and he saw them smiling.

"And that's all we wanted to hear Hiccup" Aflsted said as he placed his large hands on top of the relieved boy which nearly knocked him into the ground "to know that you respect our daughter has earned both out blessings" this made Hiccups eyes widen.

"Wh-what, you mean even after all this you'd still give me your blessing to marry Astrid?" Hiccup asked as both parents smiled again and nodded.

"There was no doubt in our minds" Helga said as she gave Hiccup a massive hug before handing him something.

Upon close inspection, Hiccup saw it was a ring "This belonged to my grandmother Hiccup, she always said to pass it on to my eldest daughter if I had one and I want you to give this to my Astrid the day you wed" Helga said before being engulfed into a hug by a smiling Hiccup.

"And also while you're away, give us some grandchildren" Alfsted chuckled earning him an elbow from his wife who chuckled also making Hiccup blush but he smiled and nodded as all three headed back to join the others.

Meanwhile Astrid was just getting the last of her thing on Stormfly when she saw Gobber hobbling over to her brandishing what looked like a letter.

"Astrid before ye go, I wan ye to do me a favor" Gobber said as Astrid nodded to acknowledge him.

He handed her the letter before carrying on "If at any point in ya journey ye come across the Bog Burglars I wan ye te give this te either the chieftess or her heir, everything will be explained in the letter" Astrid understanding his request took the letter and placed it in one of her bags.

As soon as Hiccup got the last of his stuff onto Toothless, all five teens mounted their dragons, waving goodbye, but before they could take off Gothi stepped from where she was standing holding a bowl in on hand and her staff in the other as she walked towards each teen, she put the staff down and motioned each teen to come close to her, when they did, she dipped the fingers on her free hand into the bowl and drew a symbol of an arrow pointing up on each of their heads, they symbol of Tyr the sky God to watch over them as they journey into his domain. With that she picks up her staff, backs away and gestures to the teen that they are safe to go.

Not understanding what just happened, but they knew never to argue with the elders, a certain grumpy old man did that once and got sent to the other side of the mountain.

The teens waved goodbye before taking off and out of sight leaving the five people to stand there and watch them leave.

"Ye think they'll be alright?" Gobber asked no one in particular.

Gothi smile before she did something no one in the village have ever heard her do in fifteen years "oh they'll be just fine, Gobber, just fine" she said looking up at the sky silently praying to all the gods to watch these future heroes.

Up in the Sky

As the teens fly back towards their camp where a certain Nightmare is waiting for them, Astrid notices Hiccups looking into the distance and urges Stormfly to move towards him.

"Babe are you okay?" she asked worryingly, she only saw him like this when he had something on his mind.

But he didn't answer, he just turned to Astrid and smiled so she changed her question "what you thinking of?" which to her satisfaction and horror he did answer.

"I'm thinking this war has to end, peace needs to be established" he replied before she saw the fire in his eyes, fire of determination, and she knew it was something so crazily stupid that it might work.

"We're going to set the dragons free! We're going to kill the queen!"

Sunstone Island That Evening Hiccup POV

"Okay guys do we all understand the plan?" I asked everyone as I laid the drawing on the grassy ground, I look around and see Astrid, Fishlegs and Ruffnut nod in agreement but Tuffnut…

"Yes, yes,yes…..no" Tuffnut replied tilting his head down causing the rest of us to do the same.

I sigh before repeating the plan…..again "Right Astrid, you, Stormfly and Hookfang…" yeah I decided to ask the Nightmare what he would like to be called and he preferred Hookfang…go figure "….will fly around the Red Death and fire a certain places to find any potential weak spots, got it" Astrid, Stromfly and Hookfang nodded in agreement I turn to Fishlegs and Meatlug "You two will check it sensors, mainly be eyes, ears and snout, got it" the two Nodded, now I turn to the twins and Barf and Belch "you have the more easiest job, considering this one is right up your street, you four are going to get the dragon angry, in other words…" I say the next bit with a smirk "..be yourselves"

Now I know from experience that if you told someone their special skill is to piss people off, they would kick you in the bolas, the twins however, love pissing people off and acknowledged their agreement to the plan by head butting each other, muttonheads.

I clap my hands as I conclude with mine and Toothless' part "and finally, me and Toothless will taking the final part of the plan, where we try to coax her into the air, she's bound to have wings….."

"Trust me she does have wings Hiccup, she just hasn't used them since she landed her arse in the mountain" Toothless growled.

"Well that's settled that then, weaken her exterior, damage her sensors and get her so pissed off that seeing me and Toothless will make her want to fly" I said confidently, I'm sure this plan would work.

What could possibly go wrong?

Later That Night

Lying under the starry sky as my thoughts go through my head, this plan should work, it has to.

Suddenly I feel a familiar hand upon my chest as I look to my left to see Astrid laying down next to me smiling.

"You okay babe?" she asked with a concerned look, man, if someone would have told me a couple of years Astrid Hofferson would show concern for anyone, especially me, I would of tied them to a mast for having gone mad.

I never thought I'd see the day where the real Astrid came back to us, I thought I would have to lose a limb to do so.

I smile at her as held her tightly to me "yeah milady, just thinking about what to do after all this" I replied as she looked at me confused.

"What do you mean?" she asked raising an eyebrow at me.

"I mean once we stop the queen, I want to do something our ancestor used to do" I replied with a smile.

"What you mean get so drunk you start seeing trolls?" she said with a smirk.

I match her smirk with my own "very funny milady, but no although there could be point where I could get legless. But the main thing would be to travel the world" I said as I reached my bag with my free hand to produce several rolls of paper, I put all the rolls of paper next to me except one which I unrolled prompting Astrid to grab on end of the paper to reveal a map.

"You see Astrid every time Johann came into port I always asked him for maps of foreign lands he has either been to or from others who have been to" I explained as I pointed to several different areas of land on this map "this one you'll recognize as the barbaric archipelago, I have a feeling there are new lands to discover a possibly new species of dragons out there" I put down this map and pick up another one revealing a different cluster of land "this one Johann told me about, he said this land is named Asia, many things to go for when it comes to here, different cultures, serpent like dragons, and a different religious belief, I'd love to visit it" I said with a smile upon my face.

After an hour of showing her the other maps of different places, still with a smile upon her face, boy could I watch that smile all day and night long, we both relaxed into each other's arms watching the stars twinkle in the night sky, it reminds me of Toothless.

Speaking of Toothless, I wonder where he is right now.

I lift my head up to see if I could find him, I found Fishlegs rubbing Meatlugs feet making her feel relaxed…

*Rasp!*

Okay a little too relaxed.

The twins were fighting over the same fish while Barf and Belch were separating them by holding each twin by their vests.

And Stormfly….

Wait a minute, where's Stormfly?

At this point even Astrid was looking wondering what I was looking for until she noticed Toothless and Stormfly's absence.

We both stood up to go look for them, they can't have gone far, Toothless especially since he can't fly without me.

But as we climbed over some rock facing the beach of the island, we spotted both dragons laying down next to each other, wings on top of the other and their scaly heads pressed together as slow heavy breathing was coming from them.

"Well I'll be…." Was all I could say as me and Astrid stood there wide-eyed with grins on our faces.

"So that's where they've been" Astrid said as we watch the snoozing dragons look so relaxed, it was reassuring to know.

After that me and Astrid decided to head back to our tent and do the same.

After all, tomorrow is going to be a big day for us all.

The day we stop the war.

Next Day Close to Helheim's Gate Normal POV

The waters seem calm and quiet as the five dragons and their riders head closer and closer to their destination, all were nervous the dragons more than their partners.

Toothless even more so knowing how big a role he and Hiccup will be playing in this, he never liked the queen, in fact he hoped to kill her one day, she took him from his egg family and made him serve her as the weapons destroyer while the other dragons stole food for her, he never wanted to do that but under her control, even the unholy offspring of lightening and death itself can't resist her voice, it was soothing in one part, but forceful the next, he thought he would be stuck doing her bidding forever.

That was until Hiccup hit him with the bola, breaking the trance and freeing him, sure it cost him his tail fin, but it also found him his true bond, something he found out from Hookfang who had seen his fair share of winters, including a few where he served under the alpha himself, the one who told him about the true bond, sadly Hookfang never found his yet but doesn't mind it one bit, when it happens it happens as he explained.

Hiccup could feel his scaly brother's worry and could understand why, just one little mistake and they could be screwed, but Hiccup has something he hoped he shares with Toothless.

Being stubborn as hell.

As they neared the fog, they could all hear the queens call clearly, however only the dragons seemed to be the ones affected by it.

Suddenly the dragons stop in midair, refusing to move no matter how hard the teens tried to get them to, Hiccup decided to check Toothless to see what was wrong by looking into his eyes and was startled by what he saw.

His pupils were so thin you couldn't see them, looking around at the other dragons he saw they were the same too.

That's when they all heard the voice again.

"NO TWO LEGGED HATCHLINGS WILL STOP ME AND MY MINIONS! YOU WILL DIE BY THEIR FIRE!" the Red Deaths voice echoed throughout the area.

Hiccup turned from the others and towards the fog which made him gasp at what he saw coming towards them.

Dozens upon dozens of dragons all in the same trance as the others heading towards them ready to do the queens bidding.

The start to circle the teens and their dragons, Fishlegs was hiding his face in fear for what was about to happen, Astrid readied her axe fiercely, with a look in her eyes that she won't have to use it and the twins….. well, being the twins, they goad the dragons by sticking two fingers up on each of their hands so that they were flashing the dragons the 'V's.

Hiccup however was feeling a slight headache coming on from the queens bellowing echo, making him close his eyes.

"KILL THE TRAITORS MY PETS, BRING THEIR HUMANS TO ME TO FEAST ON THEIR FLESH!"

Hiccup feeling the pain even more, like before when he, Astrid and Toothless was there before, he had to think something else.

"KILL MY PETS! DO AS I COMMAND FOR I AM YOUR QUEE….." but was interrupted when Hiccup, after he could stand the Red Deaths voice any longer finally snapped and opened his eyes and shouted to the sky.

"SHUT UP YOU SCALY FATHEAD! YOU WILL NOT CONTROL THESE DRAGONS ANYMORE!" he shouted with so much force, so much volume, so much power that it out-yelled the queen by so much that all the dragons, including those that were circling them, broke out of their trances, making their eye's dilate back to normal, they all looked confused at what just happened, one minute they were about to kill these teens then all of a sudden the scrawniest of the group shouted so loud that they could gain control of their bodies again.

Hiccup saw this and smirked, he looked all around the wall of confused, yet curious dragons before pointing towards the opposite direction of the fog "GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" he yelled with the same force, and without hesitation, the wild dragons took off in the direction Hiccup pointed towards leaving the shocked teens and their dragons behind to look at Hiccup like he just turned into a Zippleback except for Astrid who saw this happen before.

Hiccup shrugged it off before positioning himself back into the saddle as he patted Toothless' neck "you okay bud?" he asked the black dragon who turned his head towards Hiccup before replying.

"Hiccup, I don't know how you managed to do that again, but please warn me next time, that scared the crap out of me" Toothless replies which earned a chuckle from his rider followed by Toothless' ear flap slapping Hiccup across the face making stop chuckling and raised his hands in surrender as he rolled his eyes "okay okay bud, I'm sorry" Hiccup said patting the scaly head.

With a nod towards the others, Hiccup and Toothless took off into the thick fog dodging pillars and rock, and at some point, a familiar ship embedded into one of the pillars.

Eventually the fog thinned out to reveal the large mountain, they made it to their destination, now for the plan.

"Okay guy remember the plan we need to draw the queen out, and I know a way" Hiccup said to the gang as he points towards an opening and the base of the mountain, he then turns towards the twins.

"Ruff, Tuff, I want you to fire six shots into that hole there, it'll hit into the main chamber and hopefully at her" he said hoping the twins got the idea.

To his surprise, well not much, the twin got it straight away as they head towards the hole with their dragon, sure it comes to something stupid like plans and strategy and you end up being a parrot trying to explain it again, if it comes to blowing something up and hitting something in the butt then they get it straight away.

As they near the hole they tell Barf and Belch to fire in the hole six times to which they did and went back to the others waiting for what will happen next.

"D-do you think it worked Hiccup?" Fishlegs nervously asked knowing that if it did then he would have to check out the dragon's stats, but in a way he felt excited inside to get to document this Red Death in his own book of dragons.

Sudden a loud roar followed by an earthquake so bad the gang had to take off on their dragons to stay balanced.

"Yeah, I'm guessing it worked" Hiccup said in a deadpanned voice as he looks up to see all the dragons escaping in fear as the mountainside explodes revealing the Red Deaths head.

"HOW DARE YOU FIRE AT THE QUEENS TAIL! NOW YOU WILL FEEL MY FULL WRATH!" the giant dragon roars in rage looking directly at us.

The gang gasped at the size of the Red Death, the dragons started shaking in fear until their riders soothed them.

"It's okay guys" Hiccup said to the other teens and dragons as he smiled with confidence "separately we wouldn't stand a chance, but we're a team right?" seeing the determined look on Hiccup's face, the gang took the confidence radiating from Hiccup and used it for their own nerves as they nodded in agreement"

And with that, Hiccup and Toothless took off into the sky to battle the large dragon following by the others.

Fishlegs and Meatlug took the stats of the dragons to find any weaknesses "I was right girl, large armored body, no use in firing at that!" Fishlegs shouts as he looks around at the queens limbs, seeing how strong the legs looked, there was no way they could damage those either, but what he did see could work to their advantage as he spotted Hiccup nearby and heads towards him.

"Hiccup, the wings and head are the only weakness I see, it has six eyes however they can't seem to focus on us much so I guess we can use that to our advantage" Fishlegs says to Hiccup as he nods in agreement.

"Good Fish, and what about the wings?" Hiccup asks hoping they the plan can go well.

"The wings look a little worn but still look strong, anything we can use to our advantage on that?" Fishlegs replies, but smiles as he see's Hiccup smile.

"Damage the wings and eyes with the others, get her really pissed off then let me and Toothless take the rest" Fishlegs nods as he heads towards Astrid and Stormfly to tell her the plan, Hiccup watches the scene in action Stormfly and Hookfang flying around the Red Deaths body as they fire at certain parts of the wings causing minimal damage but weakening the main parts, Meatlug then follows on by blinding the large dragon using her lava and finally Barf and Belch following their riders taunting making her even more angry.

Suddenly the large dragon gets so angry she starts blasting jets of fire in all directions, knocking Fishleg and Meatlug towards the ground luckily neither were hurt "I'm okay!" Fishlegs shouts as he looks over himself.

*THUD!*

"Not okay…." Fishlegs weakly says under Meatlugs weight.

Next is the Twins and their Zippleback who get thrown into the water.

"Ahh! It burns! It burns!" Tuffnut shouts earning a punch in the face "It's just water you idiot!" Ruffnut informs her twin who still give her a painful look, before anyone knew it the Zippleback heads are separating their riders apart before even more damage is caused.

Astrid and the two dragons were all that was left keeping up with the firing, which was until the Red Deaths tail whacks into Hookfang knocking him into the mountain side, knocking him out instantly.

Now the large dragon's attention was on Astrid and Stormfly who at this point ran out of fire and spikes

"Stormfly we need to get away from her head!" Astrid shouts in panic.

"I'm trying Astrid! She keeps moving towards me!" Stormfly replies as she flaps her wings as fast as she could to avoid the powerful jaws, but no matter how hard she flew the head moved just as fast, luckily she dodged the bites that followed them.

Unfortunately the Red Death had other plans as she starts sucking in air ready to fire at the pair, Stormfly who didn't have enough strength left to escape her force prepared for the impending doom.

Sudden a familiar screeching sound came through the air as a powerful blue plasma ball hit the large dragon at the side of the head knocking her to the ground with a heavy thud, releasing Stormfly and Astrid in the process, Stormfly decided to land as she felt exhausted from that, but both looked up at their guys praying to all the gods they remain safe.

Meanwhile, Hiccup and Toothless looked angry, more than angry, furious with the Red Death, injuring their friends is one thing but attacking their girls was another.

The large dragon got back up glaring angrily at her attackers "YOU DARE KNOCK ME DOWN TRAITOR?!" she roared at the pair.

"WE DARE KNOCK YOU DOWN! WE CHALLENGE YOU! COME AND GET US YOU WORTHLESS UGLY SALAMANDER!" Toothless roared back hoping to insult the large dragon enough to fly and chase them.

Lucky for them, or unlucky in some cases, she did take offense at that and started to flap her large wing and fly fast towards the duo.

"Well that got her attention bud, let's play a little game of cat and mouse with her" Hiccup said pointing towards the sea stacks in front of them, Toothless nodded and sped towards them, followed by the Red Death hot on their trail.

Speeding along with Toothless dodging left and right to avoid the stacks, Hiccup decides to look back to see if this would slow her down since she was too large to dodge them.

He slumps his shoulder at what he saw, the dragon just slams into them like they were nothing "are you bloody kidding me!" Hiccup yells believing what his luck was like. Frantically, he looks around for something to their advantage, looking left and right he saw nothing that will help, just more rocks, he decided to look up and suddenly smile at what he saw.

Clouds, dark clouds.

"Perfect!" he shouted to himself, earning a confused look from Toothless until he looked up too and grinned know what they both were thinking.

"Let's take her to my domain!" he rumbled at his rider as they started to ascend.

"Yes bud it's time to disappear!" and with that they took to the clouds just in time as the Red Death blew a stream of fire towards them and missed completely and followed them up.

"YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME PUNY WELP AND EVEN PUNNIER WELP! FOR I AM THE QUEEN OF DRAGONS, I WILL REINE SUPREME UPON THESE LANDS, I AM MIGHTY, I AM A GODESS! AND YOU ARE NOTHING!" the Red Death rambled on all the way up into the clouds, making Hiccup and Toothless really annoyed.

"You know bud, I'd give her real money just to shut her up!" Hiccup exclaimed earning a laugh from Toothless. Finally they were in the clouds and hidden out of sight with the Red Death closely behind, but Toothless being a Night Fury and Hiccup wearing his black armor blended in well into the dark clouds.

The large dragon didn't know where to look, she couldn't smell them as they were too fast for her to trace and the damage Meatlug did to her eye's made it impossible to see them, not to mention the ringing in her ears from Toothless' blast earlier on.

Suddenly….

*BOOM!*

She felt pain in her left wing as the blast hit.

*BOOM!*

Now the pain was in her right wing.

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

Again into her wings, with the damage from earlier added to the powerful plasma blasts causing her to flap fast just to start airborne, the gang who regrouped on the ground watch as their friend blast the living shit out of the Red Death.

Now she was pissed, fuming angry, so angry that she blew out her fire in all directions hoping to fry them no matter what.

Hiccup and Toothless avoided as best as they could, and almost dodged all the flames.

I say almost, Hiccup forgot the gods hate him as smells smoke and see's the tail fin on fire, steeling his look he knew it was now or ever.

"Okay but this it, all or nothing…."

"….together we stand or together we fall!"

They both smiled knowing with determination as they sped past the large dragon.

"Hey! Over here, come and get us you oversize bag of air with wings!" Hiccups shouts as they sped downwards to avoid the snapping jaw of the Red Death who quickly followed them.

"YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE ME THIS TIME! I WILL BURN YOU ALIVE AND BITE ON YOUR REMAINS!" the Red Death roars before charging herself up for a powerful fire blast.

Hiccup see this and waits for the right time.

Closer she comes.

"Not yet….."

Her jaws wide open and gas is building up.

"Almost….."

The gas has now fill her mouth.

"Now!"

Toothless turned around and fire his last shot into the maw of the large dragon causing a huge explosion which caused a chain reaction to the rest of her body and because of the damage done to her wings, couldn't stop herself either as the membrane of her wings rip apart.

"NOOOOO! HOW COULD THIS BE?!" was the last words the Red death ever spoke as she plunged head first into the ground exploding in the process followed by the rest of her body.

Hiccup and Toothless, knowing if they didn't go will end up being roasted alive so decide to head up. Unfortunately they forget about the tail fin on fire with all the adrenaline rush and before they knew it, they lost control of their flying.

But what Hiccup saw next scared him even more as he see the large clubbed tail of the former queen come straight towards them.

"No no no no no!..." was all Hiccup said before being knocked unconscious off the saddle and snapping his safety line attached to it, Toothless seeing his rider and brother in danger speeds down as fast as he can to try and save him before being engulfed by fire.

And he's dead, the story ends here, thanks for read goodbye.

Nah I'm just kidding, here's the rest.

Astrid POV

'Oh no, Hiccup and Toothless are falling into the blast' I think to myself trying to Hold back the tears at what I was seeing. Hiccup, my boyfriend, my partner, my world, being engulfed in flames and Toothless struggling to save him, but before I could get to Stormfly to jump onto her, a blast of what appeared to be dust blew over us, knocking all of us down.

Coughing I start to shout frantically for Hiccup or Toothless and so did the others.

*Cough* "Come on girl, we need to find them" I say to Stormfly as I hope onto her and fly overhead hoping to spot them from up in the air.

After what felt like ages of shout and trying to hold back the tears, eventually I spot a round block object on the ground "Guys! Over here quick!" I shout catching the attention of the others who follow me and Stormfly down towards the ground and next to the black object.

My suspicions were correct as the black object was covered in scales, and as a head slowly pops up from the wings.

"Toothless!" Stormfly yelled frantically seeing the black dragon stir and slowly open one eye, she went to gently nuzzle him as I searched around for any sign of Hiccup, sadly to no avail.

It was too much for me as I start to cry at my loss, they others saw this but they didn't mock me, but instead hugged me.

"Astrid, look!" Fishlegs says pointing at Toothless' wing that was opening up to reveal still Hiccup underneath.

Seeing this I rush right towards him and put my head to his chest only to hear the sweetest sound I will ever hear in my life.

*Lub-dub*

I smile at hearing it

*Lub-dub*

And again.

*Lub-dub*

His hearts still going, I can even hear shallow breathing, not much but indicates to me he's still alive, and with that I embrace him, cradling him in my arms, tears falling down my face, but not of sadness, but of joy, my Hiccup is still here with us, with me.

I then turn to see Toothless and Stormfly looking at me and I smile "thank you Toothless" I say weakly as I feel the build up of tears again "you brought he back to us" I finished off scratching Toothless' head in appreciation.

Fishlegs came closer to Hiccup to check on him only to look down at his left leg "well most of him anyway" he interjected as points towards Hiccup left leg.

Or should I say, what's left of it.
