Prue had never been through a portal before, so the swirling vortex made her stomach twist into knots, and she could feel her breakfast coming back up. She looked around her, trying to see, but all she saw were bright, swirling lights. Everything was moving too fast, making her head spin. She landed on a hard floor with a thump and groaned. Her head was throbbing, and before she could even open her eyes, someone hoisted her up to her feet as she heard Chris yell angrily.
"Wyatt don't you dare touch her" he screamed, and when she opened her eyes, she found her son standing next to a blonde man in black clothes, while another grabbed twisted his arm behind his back, and held him by the neck. She looked to her right when she heard a surprised gasp, and found Piper trapped between two demons, just like she was.
"Leave us" the man whom Chris called Wyatt bellowed, and Prue was still having a hard time believing that this man was the sweet baby boy who saved her life.
"But my lord" one of the demons interjected, only to be cut off by Wyatt.
"I said leave us" he boomed, and they all immediately shimmered out, including the one who was holding Chris.
Prue's hands shot out instinctively, and she pulled both her son and her sister behind her.
Wyatt gave an amused chuckle, "oh Aunt Prue, always the selfless one, the overprotective one, the one who places herself in harm's way to save her family, thinking that she was invincible, until one day when she wasn't" he sneered, and she felt Chris shudder behind her at the mention of her death.
"If you were hoping to surprise me with the fact that I really am dead in the future, then you're mistaken" she growled.
"Well, well, well. I see our diligent Chris finally decided to stop being a mamma's boy and disregarded all that you taught him about time travel" he taunted, as he shook his head in mock disapproval, "who would've thought that the son of the mighty Prue Halliwell would be so careless?" he continued, as he sashayed in front of them. His knowing smirk turned into a growl, when none of them flinched, gasped or even looked surprised.
"Once again, if you were hoping to catch my by surprise with the knowledge that he is my son, then think again. A mother would always know her own child" she hissed.
"So did you know me, mom?" he asked, looking at Piper.
"Wyatt, what are you doing? What is this? You're working with demons, killing good people and fighting with evil" she listed in horror.
"There is no good vs evil, there is only power and those who aren't afraid to possess and explore its limits. If I wasn't meant to have all of this power, then why was I twice blessed? Why was I the most powerful witch to ever exist?" he asked.
"You're not the most powerful witch; you, Andie and I are equals. We have as much power as you do, but you don't see us going around killing other people now do you?" Chris yelled.
"That's because you both fell victims to the foolish ideals that your dear mother taught you, if you join me, I assure you that you will see things for what they truly are. You will see the world from a different perspective, and I will open your eyes to all the great potentials" Wyatt said arrogantly.
"You're the one walked around killing people, including children, and letting loose every single demon in the Underworld run loose and hunt mortals to their hearts content, and I'm the one who was a victim to foolish stories?" Chris yelled incredulously.
"You're no match for me Chris" he warned.
"I think we just established the fact that I am" Chris retorted.
"Not when Mommy's here, because you will either protect her, or yourself" he taunted, before hurling an energy ball in her direction.
Prue instinctively put her hand up, and to all of their surprise, the ball actually bounced back off her hand.
"What the..." Wyatt whispered in horror and shock alike.
"Rule number one of time travel, if your counterpart doesn't exist, then you keep your powers" Chris yelled, before he threw Wyatt into the wall behind him.
"I'll hold him off, you guys find the spell" he yelled, as he pushed them out of the way of a fireball, and waved his hand, sending icicles at Wyatt, who put his shield for protection.
Piper and Prue obeyed, but Prue kept her eye on him, using her own powers to send things in Wyatt's direction, careful not to kill him since Piper was standing next to her, and she wasn't sure she was ready to kill her own nephew just yet. Piper frantically flipped through the pages, till her eyes finally landed on the page. She grabbed Prue's arm, and pointed towards the spell. They both immediately started chanting, and as soon as they were done, the triquetra on the wall glowed bright blue, and they saw the swirling vortex once more.
Chris raised both his hands, and Wyatt got surrounded with a combination of wind and ice, just as he released a fireball in Chris's direction. To both Piper and Prue's surprise, the fireball went through Chris and into the portal without harming him. They were both staring at him, wide-eyed from the shock.
"Come on, let's go. Get the spell so he can't send someone else" he ordered, and Prue was quick to follow. She tore the page, and grabbed a still shocked Piper, and her son's hands and jumped through the portal.
Once more, she found herself in a swirling vortex, and she felt like she was inside a tornado. Her stomach turned once more, and the bright lights blinded her. She once again found herself on the floor, but instead of shocked gasps and angry yells, she head sighs and exclamations of relief, and felt a weight fall onto her.
She hadn't even had a chance to open her eyes, and see what is happening, when she felt small arms wrap around her neck, and a tiny face nuzzle it as the sobs finally reached her ears.
"Mommy" Andie cried.
"Don't worry baby, I'm right here" she soothed, as she pried her eyes open. She had decided that she really didn't like portals.
"What the hell happened?" Phoebe yelled.
"Language" Prue hissed under her breath, with a pointed glare.
"Oh really, my language is the least of your concerns right now. Who opened that portal? Where did you guys go? And who was hurling fireballs at us?" she listed, as Paige pulled Prue off the ground, with Andie still in her arms.
"The answer to the first and last question is Wyatt, and the answer to the second one is the future" Prue replied.
"So it's true, Wyatt is really evil?" Paige asked in shock, and Piper nodded solemnly.
"How could I have let this happen?" she mumbled.
"You didn't, no one knows what happened. But we all agreed that you weren't the issue, but whatever it is, it kept eating away at him for years" Chris argued softly.
"Aunt Piper, you were a wonderful mother, this wasn't your fault" he added, immediately realizing his slip and averting her gaze.
"Were? So I die in your future?" she asked, not sure if she wants to know the answer, but the solemn expression on his face is all the answer she needs.
"Well, I owe you a big apology. I never should've treated you the way I did, I never should've complained about the demon hunts or how incovenient it was. I mean you said you were trying to save my son, and I was still bitching about it. I shouldn't have kicked you out when you told me the truth about Wyatt, and I sure as hell should've known that you were my nephew. So from now on, you will not hear a peep out of me, if you saw jump, I will say how high" she said sincerely, as she walked towards him.
He gave her a small, but sincere smile, "thank you" he said softly, stiffening slightly when she hugged him, but he hugged her back nonetheless.
"I am very proud to call you my nephew, and thank you for trying to save my son" she whispered against his shoulder.
"Chris, we really are sorry. We were horrible to you, and we have no excuse for that. Even if we hadn't known that you were family, we still had no right to treat you like we did" Paige apologized, as Piper pulled back.
"We just hope you can forgive us" Phoebe added, and he smiled gingerly at them.
"Mommy, what is happening?" a confused Andie asked, and they all chuckled.
"I don't even know where to begin to explain this" Prue exclaimed.
"I am very glad that I am not you right now" Piper pipped up, smiling cheekily at Prue's glare.
"Well, Andie" Leo chimed in, "your aunts and I were very mean to Chris, and we are apologizing to him" he explained gently.
"Was I mean to you too?" she asked uncertainly, and he couldn't help but smile at his elder, but right now significantly younger, sister.
"No, you never were" he said truthfully, and she immediately reached for him. He took into his arms, and returned the tight hug that she gave him.
First off, I am very very sorry for the very long wait, but this story is really proving difficult to write. I know how things will go, but I just cant seem to be able to put them into words.
Second, I am also sorry that it is short, but I will try to get another longer one in during the weekend.
Thank you to all who read, followed and reviewed the story, and most importantly, thank you for sticking with the story and being patient, I appreciate it greatly.
Let me know what you think.
