Five Years Later
Part 58
Considering the time when they got back to Sebastian's, he was a bit surprised to feel Blaine take ahold of his hand and walk him into the bathroom with him. With everything that had happened that day, Blaine had been rather quiet since they'd left the venue. After turning the shower on, Blaine stepped up to Sebastian before undressing. "I want you to join me." Blaine told him as he began to unbutton Sebastian's shirt as Sebastian watched him intently. When he went to undo his belt, Blaine swatted his hands away, wanting to do this on his own and Sebastian obliged. It was clear how much Blaine wanted this as he undressed Sebastian rather quickly before taking his hand once more, leading him into the shower.
Once the water was flowing over them, Blaine wrapped his arms around Sebastian neck while getting up on his toes to kiss him. While this wasn't unusual for them, there was something behind the kiss that was different as it seemed Blaine was trying to lose himself in it. When they separated for a moment to catch their breath, Sebastian held back before they could resume, causing Blaine to look up at him. "Just tell me why and I'm all yours." Sebastian said as he ran his fingers through the hair at the nape of Blaine's neck. After he spoke, Blaine blinked his eyes a few times before pressing his lips to Sebastian's for a singular kiss.
"To know that we're still good and to say I'm sorry."
"Why wouldn't we still be good B?" Sebastian said softly, though he had an idea in his head since Blaine said he was sorry.
"Because of what happened tonight. Your parents must hate that I've gotten you into this mess."
"For starters, you don't have to say you're sorry as you did nothing wrong B." Sebastian then pressed a kiss to his forehead. "And no, they don't hate it as this isn't your doing. Trust me B; my parents know I'm no angel. Plus I'm not the first person to get the wrath of an ex."
"Still, I can't believe he said that in front of your Dad."
"Kurt just showed my Dad the type of person he is when he did that. And while he wasn't happy, it allowed my Dad to call him out on his own behavior."
"That had to be priceless." Blaine replied as he felt Sebastian's fingers begin to massage his scalp.
"It was. Now, get any thoughts out of your head that I'm bothered by what happened and the same goes for my parents." When Blaine looked at him, Sebastian moved his other hand up to caress Blaine's cheek. "I promise."
"I just…"
"What did I say?" Sebastian said to him rather matter of factly. Once Blaine nodded, Sebastian pressed another kiss to his forehead. "So, now that the air has been cleared are you still going to ravage me or are you secure in knowing I'm not going anywhere?"
"I'm secure, but that's all the more reason to ravage you." Blaine replied with a smirk. "Let you know how much you mean to me." He then pressed a kiss to Sebastian's shoulder. "How much I desire you." He said before another kiss, slowly working his way down Sebastian's chest, each kiss accentuating his point. And while it was clearly late, it was clear they weren't going to be going to bed anytime soon and could very well be running on caffeine when Sebastian's parents arrived for brunch the next day.
Since they'd planned ahead for brunch Sebastian had purchased everything they were going to need so neither had to run out and shop, allowing them to linger in bed as long as possible. With the way Blaine had felt when they'd gotten back to Sebastian's, he had a completely new outlook once they got up. Everything Sebastian had said to him had made sense, in more ways than he could've possibly imagined. "Feeling better?" Sebastian asked as he came up behind him and wrapped his arms tightly around him. Blaine nodded as he could see Sebastian watching him in the mirror. "Good, otherwise I'd ask my Dad to convince you and if you think I'm stubborn, you haven't seen anything yet."
"So that's what the like father, like son comment was about when you were on the phone?"
"Yes. While I often denied it, I no longer do. I am every bit my father's son." Sebastian then pressed a kiss to Blaine's cheek. "But I get my artistic eye from my Mom."
"Speaking of, my Mom can't thank you enough for copying those pictures for her."
"It was my pleasure Killer. I've got to admit, I was a bit surprised she wanted a couple of the two of us."
"You don't mind, do you?"
"No. So, this is probably a good time to tell you, my parents have some as well."
"Do they now?"
"They do. After talking with your parents and hearing what your Dad was saying about the aesthetics of them, I showed a few to my Mom who loved them as well. Last night while you were getting ready she told me you're even cuter in person."
"Is that so?" Sebastian nodded again, a smile creeping to his face.
"You truly impressed them last night Killer. Much like your parents, the venue wasn't some place they'd usually go. But listening to you, made up for not necessarily fitting in." He then pressed a kiss to Blaine's cheek. "Much like me, they could listen to you anywhere."
While the two were getting ready to get started, the Smythes were getting ready to leave their hotel and head over to Sebastian's. "Are you sure you won't tell me what Blaine's ex said to Sebastian to get you so upset?" Victoria asked as she put her earrings in.
"Yes, as it will only upset you." Xavier replied. "Just know that boy is as insufferable as Sebastian said and has no respect for his elders regardless of who they are."
"Xavier."
"Trust me my love, I'm not exaggerating. That boy is everything Sebastian ever said about him." When she looked at him as she turned, it was an expression Xavier knew all too well. "While I'd expressed that I thought maybe Sebastian was exaggerating, he wasn't. And from what Blaine has mentioned, his attitude has only gotten worse since the boys got together."
"Are they going to be alright?" She asked as she adjusted the collar of his shirt beneath his sweater.
"Yes. When Blaine's performing they have Scott and the rest of the team looking out for them. Not to mention he has no clue where they each live. So, for him to be around them it's most likely at one of Blaine's performances."
"And once things really begin to take-off for Blaine?" Victoria asked as he helped her on with her coat so they could get going. "Slandering him doesn't seem out of the realm of reason."
"I mentioned that to Sebastian who said that Blaine actually had a clause put in his divorce about publicly speaking ill of one another."
"Really?"
"Yes, it seems the lawyer his Dad found for him took into consideration Blaine's possible career path and made certain he was protected."
"Hopefully it's not necessary." Victoria said as she grabbed her purse off the dresser. "But should it be, things can be handled through proper channels."
"Precisely as one has to know should something like that happen to Blaine, there is only so much self-control our Sebastian has."
By the time they arrive at Sebastian's, they fell into a very comfortable banter as they got comfortable on the couch after Sebastian pours mimosas for everyone. From their conversations with Sebastian, it wasn't too surprising to see a guitar stand off to the side with one of Blaine's guitars sitting in it. "Should we ask how much time the two of you spend commuting?" Victoria asked after taking a sip as she looked at the two.
"Let's just say our monthly unlimited cards more than pay for themselves." Sebastian replied with a smile. "Even with a healthy give and take of who goes to see who."
"You graduate in May, don't you Blaine?" Xavier asked.
"I do." Blaine replied.
"Then after that you boys are going on vacation, correct?" Victoria asked.
"Yes, Mom that's when we're going on vacation."
"How soon after do you go on tour Blaine?"
"Ten days." Blaine replied. "Once we get back I'll be in rehearsals as well as having to sit for numerous interviews." Once he spoke, Sebastian's parents looked at each other before looking back at the boys, noticing Sebastian was smiling.
"Interviews for what, if you don't mind me asking?" Xavier asked, causing Blaine to look up at Sebastian who pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"The record label is releasing my first single off the album before we head off on tour. So the interviews are with numerous radio stations in the area to promote it, though one is a national show so I don't have to travel too far." Blaine told him as Xavier and Victoria's smiles grew. "Needless to say, once Bas and I get back I'm hitting the ground running."
"That's fabulous news Blaine!" Victoria exclaimed as she got up to hug him. "We're so happy for you! When did this all happen?"
"I was told Friday morning." Blaine told them.
"Yesterday morning?" Xavier asked after giving Blaine a congratulatory hug once his wife had let go of him.
"Yes. With everything else that was going on it's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this is happening."
"B's the most humble musician you'll ever encounter." Sebastian said. "When he told me, it took a bit for me to process as well. We knew it was going to be happening, but to know when, is something else."
"Have you told anyone else?" Victoria asked.
"Outside of my parents and my brother, Cooper, you're the only ones that know outside of my band. But, that means Jeff knows as there is no way Morgan didn't tell him."
"How were you able to keep this news to yourself?"
"I didn't want to share it with anyone until I was able to reach my parents. So, by the time I spoke with them we were going out to dinner and then it was show time. I plan on letting our friends know Monday after you leave."
"You don't need to wait to tell them on our accord." Xavier told him. "From what we saw last night, your friends are so proud and supportive of you. They'd want to know."
"We know." Sebastian told his Dad. "The thing is, once they know they're going to want to go out and celebrate."
"Call your friends." Victoria told them. "For something this huge we have no issue sharing our time with you." When Blaine glanced up at Sebastian, he smiled at him. "Sebastian knows we don't say things we don't mean Blaine. Share this news!"
"But…"
"B, start making the calls and I'll get to work on brunch."
"I'll help him dear and we'll go from there."
"Bas."
"Start making those calls Killer. But I want that phone to be on speaker when you call Rachel of all people."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm positive. Plus you doing this now, means I won't have to try and hide from Hunter on Monday morning. Think of what I said once got home last night, keeping this to myself last night was hard as hell. Especially when Kimberly asked if I'd heard anything about music getting released."
"Alright, I'll start making the calls." Blaine then stretched enough to kiss Sebastian on the jaw. "And I'll make sure you hear Rachel's calls."
"Good."
Once that was decided, Sebastian's parents followed him into the kitchen so that Blaine could begin. Before he even had a chance to take anything out of the refrigerator, his Mom pulled him into a hug. "You must be so happy Sebastian." She said as she looked up at him. "And so proud."
"All of that and then some." Sebastian replied as he looked at his Dad who was smiling proudly. "I'm so sorry I didn't say anything but this wasn't my news to share."
"We understand." Xavier told him. "Blaine made the right decision in telling his parents first."
"Actually, he told me first." Sebastian said with a smirk, causing his Dad to laugh and his Mom to shake her head. "What, it's true." He told them. "I can't even begin to tell you how badly I wanted to just leave school so we could go celebrate. He's worked so hard for this and truly deserves it."
"Why didn't you then as it was certainly a good reason to?"
"Blaine had a class he couldn't miss. Even with everything that's going on; he hasn't neglected school which has caused him to keep some crazy hours." Sebastian told them. "Luckily he's got this ability to sleep at random hours." He then asked him Mom to let go of him so they could get to work on brunch. Once they began, Sebastian would pause every so often when he heard Blaine's happy laughter as no doubt another of their friends was making a fuss over the news. It soon got to the point, Victoria shooed him out of the kitchen as she as well as Xavier felt Sebastian should be there, sharing this moment with Blaine.
"I can't believe they were going to wait to share such wonderful news only because we're here." Victoria said as Xavier moved closer to help in any way that he could.
"Only further proves that this weekend with us was as important to them as it is to us." Xavier told her. "It also explains why Sebastian was acting the way he was last night. This really is such a huge moment for Blaine."
It was only about ten minutes later when they heard a loud squeal by a girl which led them both to believe that Blaine had just shared the news with Rachel. Considering the number of calls Blaine had to make, they managed to get through them all before brunch was ready. They were getting up off the couch when Xavier came walking in to tell them it was about ready. "Everyone's ecstatic for him!" Sebastian said proudly as he wrapped his arms around Blaine.
"We figured as much from what we could hear. Was that squeal, Rachel?"
"Rachel, and Santana actually." Blaine replied with a smile. "There are only a few more calls we need to make but they're going to wait till a bit later. Most importantly we got in touch with everyone that is here in the city this weekend. And those we shared it with know not to say anything till we send a text letting them know they're free to talk about. The last thing I want is for some of the guys to feel left out that they heard the news from someone other than me."
"Were their reactions what you expected?" Xavier asked as they headed towards the table which Victoria was placing food on.
"Yes." Sebastian told him. "And we were right, they want to go out."
"Well, your Mom and I were talking and that's fine with us. But, we'd like to take you both out to dinner to celebrate as well." Sebastian looked at Blaine who smiled as he looked at him, as though a weight had been lifted being able to share the news. "Your call Killer?"
"That would be nice, thank you." Blaine replied as they all took their seats for brunch.
While they were starting to eat, those that had been told were calling each other to talk. Needless to say, Thad wasn't too surprised that his rang with a call from Rachel while he was talking with Hunter who had no problems ending their call so the two could talk. After hearing an overly ecstatic hello, Thad couldn't help but ask if she'd spoken with Blaine. "What do you think?" Rachel asked bubbly as ever. And in the process he could hear Santana talking with Jordan about the news. "I can't believe he was able to keep this to himself yesterday."
"Hunter and I were just talking about the same thing considering how huge this is for him. But we figure with the nerves he had about meeting Sebastian's parents in person helped distract him. Plus he had shared the news with someone as he immediately called Sebastian."
"Very true, and as Santana put it she's pretty certain they had their own little private celebration last night."
"Did you just allude to the fact that Blaine and Sebastian…"
"Yes, yes I did." Rachel told him and from the lightness of her voice he knew she was smiling on the other end. "And I don't blame them one bit as they deserve to relish this moment in so many ways." Thad couldn't help but laugh softly as Rachel had changed so much recently in that she was embracing life so openly and he loved it. "Don't be so surprised."
"I can't help it." He told her as he sat back on his couch. "Not even a month ago, that same thing wouldn't have come out of your mouth with such confidence behind it."
"Santana said something similar to me when you were laughing. She likes it, but you should know better."
"I just wasn't sure if recent events would carry into conversation so easily with others around."
"I'm full of surprises, what can I say?"
"You most certainly are." Thad told her. "So, do you have to work today as you thought or are you going to be able to come over here?"
"Do you miss me?"
"Of course I do. So?"
"I should know within the hour." Rachel told him. "But from what I was told, no. But once I know I'll text you. And if I don't, I'll head right over."
"Nice, but a heads up, I do have studying to do."
"Not surprising. Um, Santana and I were talking though and were wondering if you guys were going to do anything to celebrate Blaine's big news as we think we should?"
"That's the plan but it all depends on what's going on with the two of them since Sebastian's parents are in town. If anything it might have to wait till next weekend so everyone can be here."
"That won't work as they're going away, remember."
"Shit! Okay, let me go then so I can call Wes and remind him of that fact."
"Will do."
"Rach."
"Yea."
"Bring a change of clothes just in case and anything else you'd need to get ready if you are coming over."
"Will do. Bye."
"Bye."
Once she ended the call, she looked over at the couch were Santana and Jordan were sitting all cuddled up with a laptop between them. "What are the two of you doing?" Rachel asked once she sat in the chair opposite them.
"I'm jotting the date down so I can cover it on my segment the Saturday before." Jordan replied with a smile. "He'd hinted it was going to be before they went on tour, but didn't confirm anything. I can't even tell you how many people I know that are going to be so happy about this."
"Hell, we're all thrilled as we'll finally be able to have recordings of Blaine singing." Santana added. "More than once I've been tempted to swipe Sebastian's IPod to copy that playlist Blaine made him."
"Why haven't you?" Rachel asked as she looked at them, as it was clear something else was going through Jordan's head as she was typing up a storm.
"One, Sebastian would kill me." Santana said with a laugh. "And two, those songs were recorded explicitly for Sebastian from Blaine. While I'm a bitch, I'm not going to take that away from them. Not to mention there could be some sweet messages in there as well that aren't meant for my ears. Now, how does Thad feel about all this?"
"He's as happy as we are as are the rest of the guys." Rachel told her. "He was actually talking with Hunter when I called. I also spoke to him about celebrating and he said he'd get back to us."
"Going out tonight would be the most logical."
"True, but Sebastian's parents are in town."
"Shit, that's right." Once Santana spoke, Rachel saw quite the smirk creep to her face.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Hummel's going to fucking flip-out when he finds out."
"Can we not talk about him as it's going to ruin the atmosphere?" Rachel asked as she tucked her feet beneath her. "We should cherish this moment even though it's the first of many releases, but it's the first."
"So true! Sam's going to freak-out in the best way possible."
"I know. I'm pretty certain he could be the head of the Ohio chapter of Blaine's fan club. He's so happy knowing Blaine's playing Columbus this summer. He's already requested the night off."
"I bet that has Blaine's parents happy as well." Santana said. "To see this happening for him has to be such a great feeling."
"Agreed." Rachel said as her phone went off. Shortly after answering she began to smile.
"I take that to mean you don't have to work and you get to spend the day with Thad?" Once Rachel nodded, Santana looked at her and smiled as well. "Do we need to have a talk young lady as you've been spending quite a bit of time with him?"
"No, as our last talk was more than informational." Rachel's response caused Santana to start laughing as she remembered their last "talk" about Thad all too well. When Santana's eyes began to tear because she was laughing so hard, Jordan looked back over her shoulder at her before looking at Rachel.
"Care to fill me in or is this a private thing?" Jordan asked as she moved her laptop onto the table.
"It was informational." Rachel said with a giggle. "Santana wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten some things in regards to men."
"Oh my." Jordan said with a laugh as Santana dried her eyes while getting her laughter under control. "Should I ask?"
"You've been with a guy before, right?" Santana asked as she tightened her hold around Jordan who nodded. "Well, considering it had been some time since Rach had been with a guy I felt she might need a refresher in what they like."
"In what regards?"
"Orally." Rachel replied, making Jordan's eyes go wide. "Yea, she went there."
"What did you do Tana?" Jordan asked.
"I might've made her watch a video to two on the matter."
"And you sat through it?"
"She actually found some pretty tastefully done videos." Rachel replied.
"They were labeled romantic." Santana chimed in. "Nothing vulgar for my girl."
"I appreciate that." Rachel told her. "Now if you both don't mind, I need to go pack a bag as Thad said to bring a change of clothes in case we all do go out to celebrate. You two have fun today and I'll be sure to let you know before I come back." When Rachel winked at them, Santana sat up a bit straighter as her eyes followed her.
"You did not just fucking wink at us!"
"I did." Rachel called out, smiling to herself in the process. Being able to tease Santana in this manner was something new to her, but she loved it. Getting a reaction out of Santana the way she normally got out of others was a great feeling.
"In that case, I still want to know how real life imitates art." She called out.
"I bet you do."
"Damn right, that is why I'm asking." Once she spoke, Santana settled back on the couch as Rachel didn't respond. "I can't believe she did that to us."
"Is it any different from what you do to her?" Jordan asked as she slowly rolled over so they were face to face. "Miss, I had her watch porn on the art of the blowjob."
"Yes, as she doesn't do this." Santana replied before Jordan kissed her. "Yet now she does. She's certainly coming out of her shell."
"It's what you wanted, isn't it?"
"It is and it's great. It's just going to take some time getting used to it. Now, do you have anything you need to do today before you head into work for those couple of hours?"
"No, so what do you have in mind?"
"Making use of the fact that Rachel's going to Thad's. What do you think?"
"Sounds perfect to me."
Once Rachel was on her way over to Thad's after exiting the subway, she smiled when she got a text from Blaine letting her know that he'd gotten ahold of Sam so she was welcome to call him. After closing that window, she noticed she had a voicemail as well. Once she listened to it, her mood got even better if that was possible as she had a message from her agent that she'd made it through to the next round of auditions. And he'd let her know what type of song she needed to have prepared next and he hoped she had one in her repertoire as the next audition was that Wednesday.
Rachel wasn't sure what had prompted her to grab her binder of sheet music when she left, but she was thankful that she had. With the next audition on Wednesday she wasn't going to have much time to prepare. So luckily Thad had studying to do as she was certainly going to be pre-occupied for a bit looking for the perfect song that describes her while also showing off her voice.
When she reached the door to Thad's apartment, she heard quite a few voices inside including that of a girls. Feeling a twinge in her gut, she shook her head as Thad had never given her any reason to be jealous. And with all the other voices in the room, it could truly be anyone. After knocking, it wasn't long till the door opened and she was looking at Wes. "Oh Thaddeus, you have company." Wes called out as he motioned for Rachel come inside. Once she was, she had to refrain from giggling as the female voices she had heard belong to Kimberly and Chloe, as Hunter and Wes were there as well.
The moment Thad came walking around the corner; he walked up to Rachel and gave her a kiss. "Sorry about this but we seem to get more accomplished in person." Rachel smiled before joining the others in the living room. "And thanks to your reminder, we know we need to do something for Blaine sooner rather than later."
"What about the others?" Rachel asked as she sat down beside Thad.
"Jeff and Morgan are in their own little world right now and said they were fine with whatever we came up with." Hunter told her with a smile while wrapping his arm around Kimberly.
"And Nick was given the task of getting ahold of the rest of the Warblers that Blaine knows that he didn't call personally." Wes told her.
"Why Nick?"
"Because Sophie is at work and it gives him something to keep him occupied." Thad told her. "And her being at work is a benefit since as of last night they were all going to check out an exhibit today before all the news broke."
"So, Sophie will be able to let us know if they show." Wes finished for him. "From what Blaine told me, their plans are up in the air right now because this news sort of turned their weekend on end."
"But the Smythes have told them they have no problems with them going out to celebrate tonight. They honestly encouraged it." Hunter continued. "Yet, it needs to be after they take the two of them out to dinner to do the same." When Rachel continued to look at them all, Hunter tilted his head. "What is it?"
"How do you guys know so much?" The three guys laughed, but quickly apologized as they weren't laughing at her.
"Wes and I each called Sebastian to ask questions while Blaine was making his myriad of calls." When Rachel cast her eyes down, Thad wrapped his arm around her. "It was a logical question Rachel, honest."
"So, what's going to be the plan?" Kimberly asked as she relaxed against Hunter.
"We thought it was only fitting to go to where this all started for Blaine and we're not talking NYADA." Wes replied. "After a bit of talking we realized it had been a long time since Blaine actually got to go out and enjoy a night as he's typically performing nowadays."
"If you guys want, I can call Quinn as I know she's in the city and she can talk with Stephen about doing something special or at least setting aside a place for all of us." Rachel told them.
"That's actually a great idea." Hunter told her, earning her a kiss from Thad. "Just make sure he knows this needs to be played low-key since it's Blaine." When Rachel looked at Hunter, he immediately pointed at Wes.
"That's my call Rachel." Wes told her after seeing the look she gave Hunter. "As much as Blaine wants to celebrate, we all know he doesn't like people making a fuss over him."
"Unless it's Sebastian." Kimberly said with a giggle.
"Very true, Sebastian's allowed to fuss all he wants. But the rest of us, need to respect Blaine's need to celebrate while also not going over the top. One has to know him agreeing to go out and celebrate is more about him making the rest of us happy than anything else."
"He's really that down to earth?" Chloe asked as she was still getting to know him.
"That he is." Thad replied. "So while others can go over the top and he'll have to go along with it so as not to seem like a dick. Those of us that truly know him need to celebrate in a way fitting Blaine."
