Five Years Later
Part 60
After speaking with Santana, Blaine realized he couldn't put off telling the guys any longer as they were slowing putting the pieces together as well. Thankfully though, since Santana only found out about the cheating, she hadn't been focused on anything else that had been occurring around him. Or if she had, she didn't mention it to him. And he didn't want his friends to constantly be put in the position of keeping things from one another. So, after speaking with Wes and Hunter, to have them ask all the guys to come over to Sebastian's the next morning, Blaine went to go and find him.
Living with what had happened to him wasn't easy, and now he got a reminder of how hard this was on Sebastian as well. When he'd gone downstairs, Stephen had told him that Sebastian had gone out the back entrance. Knowing that Sebastian wouldn't up and leave him, Blaine headed backstage and out back. There leaning against the wall was Sebastian, running his fingers through his hair. Upon calling out for him, Sebastian turned to look at Blaine who was walking up to him. Once he wrapped his arms around him, Sebastian did the same, holding him tight.
After sharing a brief kiss, Blaine let Sebastian know that he was going to let everyone know all that had happened to him after he spoke with Santana. That he knew it wasn't fair asking his friends to keep such a big secret. It was one thing for him keeping this to himself, but once more found out, it wasn't right. He knew that for Sebastian, Wes, and Hunter especially each time they had to deal with Kurt they had to stop themselves from saying what they really felt. Once Sebastian asked if that included telling the girls, Blaine told him they'd be finding out as well, but he wanted to tell the guys first. As he knew that this news was going to hit Rachel especially hard and she was going to need Thad. So, Thad needed to have a bit of time to process the news as well.
When they finally returned to everyone else, Hunter and Wes were pretty quick to tease the two about sneaking away. Normally neither would go there, but they knew they needed to deflect considering the guys were curious about the impromptu meeting the next morning. Plus they didn't want to raise the girls' suspicions any more than necessary. Considering Sebastian's earlier reaction, Santana decided to play along as well yet was careful not to push too far.
Once they got home that night, they decided to head straight to sleep knowing they had an early morning ahead of them. By the time they got out of the shower that morning, they knew they didn't have much time so while Sebastian brewed a pot of coffee, Blaine took the last of his celebratory cake out of the refrigerator to slice them each a piece. "Are you sure you want to do this B?" Sebastian asked as he got cups out of the cabinet. "I mean, it wasn't easy for you to tell me, let alone your parents. And you were pretty vague when it came to Wes and Hunter."
"And vague isn't going to cut it with everyone." Blaine finished as he grabbed out forks prior to putting the cake away once more.
"So you have thought about it."
"I've been thinking about it for awhile. Little did I ever think I'd be put in the position where I had to do this."
"You don't have to do anything B." Sebastian told him as he poured their coffee.
"Actually, I do. It hasn't been fair to you, Wes, or Hunter having to keep your mouths shut on the subject." Blaine said before taking a bite. "And while I don't want this to define who I am, keeping this quiet allows it to still control a part of my life."
"You have nothing to be ashamed of B."
"I know. All I can hope is the guys can understand why I hadn't told them."
"B, they'll understand as this isn't some little thing you didn't want to share with them. Also, it's not going to change how they see you." When Blaine looked at him, Sebastian leaned in and kissed him. "I said it because you thought once you told me, I'd see you differently. The only change it made for me was it made me see you were even more incredible than I thought you were. And you know it didn't change anything for Wes or Hunter either. What happened to you B wasn't your fault." Blaine nodded as that was one thing he understood rather well after talking with his therapist once he'd left Kurt. No matter how much Blaine might've felt he deserved what was happening at the time, she got him to see there wasn't much he could've done to stop it aside from what he did.
The two were still in the kitchen talking and eating when the doorbell rang so they grabbed their plates and cups to move into the living room. Once Sebastian set his things down, he went to get the door. Upon opening it, he smiled as Jeff and Nick stood there with two big boxes from the bakery nearby. After Sebastian looked at them, Jeff explained that they felt it was necessary considering how early it was. Sebastian nodded and proceeded to tell them there was coffee ready in the kitchen. The guys smiled as a cup of coffee was exactly that they needed.
When they reached the living room, they saw Blaine sitting there on the couch. Just as Nick stated they brought food, they saw Blaine place his plate down. "And here we thought we were the only ones in the mood for something sweet." Jeff told him as they placed the boxes on the coffee table. "But I guess not."
"Bas and I decided on cake as we wanted something quick. Not to mention, we're going out to brunch with his parents later."
"That makes sense." Nick told him. "Now, we'll be right back as we're going to get coffee so we can start enjoying." Blaine smiled before the two headed off as Sebastian sat down beside him. Shortly after Jeff and Nick returned, the bell went off again. That began what ended up being a bit of up and down for Sebastian in regards to opening the door.
Once they'd all arrived, Sebastian smiled seeing that they all left an empty space next to Blaine for him to take. He also was rather happy to see that Wes and Hunter had taken position on either side of him. With all the guys settled, Sebastian wrapped an arm around Blaine as he took a deep breath before looking at all of the guys. Since he'd thanked each of them for coming as they arrived, Blaine decided to just jump right in knowing the guys knew something was up. "I know you've all had a lot of questions about what happened when I was married to Kurt." After he said that, the guys all chimed in, in agreement. "And for the most part, I've done a good job at evading those questions. But I've come to realize, the more I evade, the more awkward things become and the more curious you all become." Blaine took another deep breath once he finished as he was happy to get that all out at once.
"While we want to know Blaine, we understand you don't want to talk about it." Thad told him. "It couldn't have been easy to find out he was cheating on you. Then for him to fight you on the divorce."
"That's the thing guys. I only found out that he cheated on me prior to you all finding out."
"Excuse me?" Jeff exclaimed and it was clear the others were all thinking the same thing considering the looks on all their faces; Jeff just beat them to the punch in speaking. "How could you have just found out? I mean, we all assumed that's why you left him once we were told." Blaine took another deep breath, before glancing at Sebastian who nodded reassuringly while tugging him a bit closer.
"There was way more wrong in our marriage than Kurt cheating on me, way more and…" Blaine paused and closed his eyes as he collected his thoughts as he'd become a bit overwhelmed in the moment.
"It's okay B, take your time." Sebastian told him before kissing him on the temple, then glancing at Wes and Hunter. "No one is going anywhere."
"Sebastian's right Blaine." Wes added. "Take your time as we're not leaving." After Wes spoke, a few of the others exchanged looks which essentially confirmed what they all knew Wes knew more than he was saying. Blaine then took another deep breath before speaking once more.
"Kurt verbally abused me during our marriage to the point where it did quite a number on my self-esteem. And when…" Blaine took another deep breath as he closed his eyes once more as it was hard looking at the guys in that moment, seeing the shock on their faces. "And there were times when we argued, if he felt I was lying to him…he'd…slap me." Blaine expected to hear something, yet what he heard once the words left his mouth, was silence. He turned to look at Sebastian who met him with another kiss, before squeezing him tight.
When nothing was said for a bit, Blaine looked at the guys and could see that the shock on their faces had turned to anger. It was clear to him that what he'd just told them, wasn't what they'd all imagined. "So that's why you said what you did to him on New Year's Eve?" Jeff said, trying to be calm but failing miserably. "That's to both of you in case you were wondering. As you both had us all wondering."
"Yet once we heard he cheated on you, we thought that's what it was about." Thad said while shaking his head in disbelief. "But now how you both reacted when he tried to slap you makes so much sense now." Thad then looked at Wes and Hunter who had similar expressions on their faces to Sebastian. "How long have the two of you known?"
"Blaine told me shortly after what happened on New Year's Eve after I questioned some of the things that went on that evening." Wes told them. "And if it wasn't for Sebastian, I would've headed straight to Kurt's to give him a piece of my mind after what he did to Blaine." When the guys looked at Sebastian, he smiled as he knew how odd that sounded considering Wes was usually very well composed.
"What about you Hunter?" Nick asked and that caused him to look at Blaine and Sebastian who nodded.
"I…I had an idea in the fall after a conversation Sebastian and I had but nothing was confirmed till around the time Wes found out."
"The fall?" Thad blurted out; surprised to hear how long Hunter had an idea of what was going on.
"He knew because I needed someone to talk to after B told me what had happened." Sebastian replied. "Needless to say, I was beyond angry once Blaine told me what had happened between them and I needed someone to talk to." After the words left his mouth, Sebastian noticed Thad's expression change. "I thought about talking to you about it Thad, honest. But B and I talked and came to the conclusion that it was best if I talked with Hunter."
"Why, considering I know Blaine better. No offense Hunter, but this doesn't make sense to me. I mean hell; I've known him longer than either of you!"
"None taken." Hunter replied while Sebastian nodded as he understood Thad's frustration with the situation. "But that's exactly why he came to me because of how close you and Blaine are. When Sebastian came to me, our conversation was extremely vague, dealing with generalities. And sadly, I knew only a few things could've upset him that badly."
"How'd you know to react on New Year's Eve if you hadn't known Kurt had hit him before?" Jeff asked.
"Like I said, I knew it could've only been a few things to upset Sebastian as badly as it did. It wasn't till I stopped Hummel and saw how Blaine reacted, did I know for sure." As Hunter spoke, Blaine had turned a bit and had curled into Sebastian somewhat as he hated seeing his friends like this. "And then Sebastian confirmed it. Much like Wes, I respected Blaine's privacy and didn't tell anyone." The guys all nodded as the explanation made sense.
"Okay, but how did you find out about the cheating then Blaine?" Beat asked as he wasn't sure where that fell in everything that had happened to Blaine.
"Hunter told me." Blaine replied. "After his conversation with Bas, Hunter decided to hire an investigator to look into Kurt while the two of us were married. And that's how I found out that Kurt had entire life that I knew nothing about."
"Hummel can't deny it either as there were messages and pictures as part of the evidence." Sebastian added. "Not to mention, B confronted him about it and well, he was shocked that Blaine knew."
"We're so sorry Blaine." Trent told him, his expression that of someone still trying to process what he'd been told. "No one deserves to go through any of that. And here we thought he was only a lousy cheat."
"Does anyone else know?" David asked.
"Aside from the people in this room, my parents who I only recently told, my lawyer, and my therapist." Blaine told them. "Part of the reason I didn't call any of you after I left him was because I was in a really bad place and, I needed to get my life back together first. The main reason I left was because when I looked in the mirror, I could barely recognized myself anymore. And in that moment of clarity, I knew I needed to get out of the situation I was stuck in, in a sense."
"It takes a strong person to get out Blaine." Nick told him and the others all agreed. "And while I'm sure you know we all would've been there for you, we understand that you needed time to yourself, no matter how our actions or emotions might seem at the moment."
"Nick's right." David added. "What matters now, is whether or not you're okay."
"I am. It's only been hard when Kurt comes around and acts so innocent and continues to paint me as the bad guy." Blaine told them. "While I know I made mistakes during our marriage, I wasn't the person he told people I was." He then turned to look at Thad. "So you know, I plan on telling Rachel and Santana so you won't be having to keep this from Rachel. I would also like you there when I tell her as I don't think this is going to take this well at all."
"Just let me know when and I'll be there as you're right, she's not going to take this well."
"Thanks. There is one other thing guys, now that you know, I…I really don't want to have to talk about it. And while I know you probably have questions as I was pretty vague, I…I can't go through it all again."
"You don't have to apologize to us Blaine." Jeff told him. "I'm pretty sure we all understand as telling us anything more, would be like reliving it and that's the last thing any of us would want you to go through."
"Thank you."
"There is one other thing guys." Sebastian said to them. "This doesn't leave this room. B told you as it was clear more people were figuring things out and he felt it best you hear things from him. We know quite a few of you have noticed things Wes, Hunter, or myself have said especially to Hummel."
"True, we have." Nick replied. "Now we'd like to know, how hell you've kept your cool around him Sebastian."
"Trust me, it hasn't been easy. But I know if I snap, B is going to have to deal with the ramifications of my actions. So, if you guys could try and control yourselves, it would be appreciated."
"Understood." David told them and the others all agreed. The fact that Sebastian had managed to keep his cool, the rest of them could try to do the same. Plus everything that Sebastian had said about should he react, Blaine having to deal with it, was the last thing any of them wanted. Not to mention they knew it had to be harder for Sebastian as they didn't doubt that Blaine had given Sebastian the details that he hadn't felt comfortable sharing with them.
They were all beginning to talk, when Blaine excused himself as his phone began to ring. Once he walked out of the room, Sebastian leaned back against the couch and sighed softly as he was thankful the guys didn't push Blaine for more details or freak out more than they did when he told them. "Is he really okay Sebastian?" Trent asked as he looked across at him.
"He is. Honestly, he dealt with a lot of it with his therapist as while going through the divorce he had to recount what happened quite often. The more Kurt fought the inevitable, the more often Blaine had to relive it. The best thing you can all do, is not act any differently around him now that you know. You guys knowing, doesn't change the person he is that you all know and care about."
"This can't be easy for either of you." Jeff told him and the expression on his face showed his concern.
"It's more frustrating than anything else. While it's hard knowing Kurt slapped him more than a few times, the verbal abuse and emotional abandonment did most of the damage and made him feel very alone. That's why he needed to wait to get in touch with anyone. He needed to figure out who he was once again. But now you all know why I don't want Hummel anywhere near Blaine."
"For good reason." Nick stated as he glanced at everyone. "Could I ask you something though Sebastian?"
"I don't know, are you capable of it?" Once Sebastian replied, they all got a good laugh as it was a typical Sebastian sort of answer. "Sure, what would you like to know?"
"How is it you haven't snapped because right now I want nothing more than to scream and hit something?" After Nick spoke, the rest of the guys chimed in as well as they were all feeling the same way. "The only reason I haven't is that I know it's the last thing Blaine needs to see as we could all tell it was hard for him to tell us."
"And there you have your answer." Sebastian replied before glancing towards the bedroom where Blaine disappeared to take his call. "I've been able to keep it together because of B. But I can tell you; since B was a bit more open with me the two of us had quite the cry which allowed me to expel a lot of what I was feeling. And if you ask Hunter, when the two of us spoke I wasn't the calmest individual." Those words brought eyes to Hunter who nodded.
"Was it bad?" Thad asked him.
"It was. It's how I knew it was something serious as I'd never seen Sebastian as upset or angry as he was the day we spoke. If we didn't have the conversation in public, who knows if he would have been able to keep as much composure as he did when we spoke." The moment Hunter finished, they all could easily understand the emotions Sebastian had gone through in that moment. And the fact that Blaine had opened up more to him, he had more things to process.
"The both of you know should you need anything, we're here for you guys." Beat told him.
"We do." Sebastian replied. "Just remember, because you know doesn't mean B's going to talk about it. It really is something he'd prefer to forget happened."
"We understand." Thad said. "Now we all know why you three are so protective of him."
"You guys knowing isn't going to change that." Wes added. "But we don't let that protective nature change the way we treat Blaine."
"Otherwise I'd be pissed." Blaine said as he walked into the room. "I don't want pity, guys. It happened; I've dealt with it so it's time to move on. As I said, I only told you because it was clear more people were figuring out more had happened." While Blaine spoke, he sat back down on the couch next to Sebastian, who promptly wrapped his arm back around him. "Did you all get your questions answered that you weren't going to ask with me here while I was gone?" When the guys looked at him, Blaine laughed. "Come on guys, it's understandable that you had questions you wanted answers to but were hesitant to ask me. Just as I'm sure you said things you didn't want to say in front of me."
"We did." Jeff replied. "I take it you and Sebastian talked about this beforehand?"
"We did." Sebastian told him. "You all essentially asked the questions B and I felt you would ask. We know it's not an easy topic to deal with so questions are inevitable. I mean, we talked for hours the night he told me."
"Blaine."
"Yes Trent."
"When you told us who knows, there was someone missing from that list."
"You mean Cooper?" Trent nodded in response. "I only told my parents last weekend and they asked me the same thing whether or not I was going to tell him. I know I need to as he can't be left in the dark, especially now that not only my parents know, but you guys know. But this needs to be a conversation he and I have in person and not over the phone."
"Do you guys want to go and do something?" Nick asked. "I mean, it would be good to go have some fun."
"As nice as that sounds, Bas and I have plans with his parents, remember." Blaine told him. "But we'll definitely have to do something soon."
"You let us know when, and we'll be there." David told him.
"Or, I can give you guys my schedule and you can figure something out that works for all of you." Blaine replied. "I mean, if I'm gone when you decide something I trust Bas to look out for my best interest." The guys smiled as that answer really didn't surprise them in the slightest. "Also, I can't even begin to tell you guys how much you coming to town on short notice last night meant to me."
"Your smile let us know how much it meant." Beat said in response. "There was no hiding how happy you were. It was pretty clear that me, David, and Trent being there was quite the shock."
"It was, but it was the best kind of shock. And as much as I'd love to spend more time with you guys, Bas and I really do need to finish getting ready so we can meet his parents."
"Got it." Wes said as he stood. "Know most of us aren't leaving town until later so feel free to give us a call later if you don't get back to late."
"I will keep that in mind." Blaine told him as they all got up. "Thanks again for coming over this morning guys."
"Don't mention it." Thad said with a smile, taking a bit of solace in the fact that Blaine seemed more like himself once again. "Now you two have fun with the parentals."
"We will certainly try." Sebastian replied. "And remember, this stays between us, got it."
"Understood." Nick told him before they all went to give Blaine a hug before heading on their way. Once they were all headed down the hall to the elevators, their composure began to change. "Please tell me I'm not the only one that wants to go find Hummel and tell him exactly what I think of him and what he did to Blaine."
"You're not." Wes said. "I wanted to do the same thing once I found out but it won't accomplish anything. As Sebastian said to me the day I found out, all me going off on Kurt would do is cause more stress for Blaine as he'd be the one dealing with Kurt's dramatics."
"Wes is right." Jeff said as the elevator doors opened. "So, we really need to respect Blaine's wishes that we keep this to ourselves, and well, we need to follow Sebastian's lead. Now that we know, I can see why he didn't tell us as he knew we'd want to do something about it." Jeff then turned to look at Thad. "Rachel and Santana are going to flip out."
"Tell me something I don't know." Thad replied. "The fact that this happened under their noses, they're not going to be happy in the slightest. And sadly, I think it's going to hurt Rachel more considering how shocked she was on New Year's Eve when he tried to slap Blaine. I am going to talk with them later and see if they can wait to talk to Rachel till after Tuesday though."
"Why is that?" Hunter asked.
"Rachel has another callback on Tuesday and hearing something like this will wreck her mindset in the moment."
"That's a good idea." Jeff stated. "As Santana has mentioned how hard she's been working and how much this means to her."
"Exactly."
"Has she told you which show it's for yet?" Hunter asked as they exited the elevator.
"No, and she doesn't plan to unless she gets it. So right now, I need wrap my head around what Blaine told us as the last thing I need is to still be dwelling on it when I see her later today."
"Not this morning?" Beat asked and Thad shook his head. "Working?"
"Yes, so I won't be seeing her till later this afternoon. And while that normally might bother me, the timing couldn't be better. Now I'll have time to try and process all this as well as do some homework. Right now my respect level for Sebastian has grown as I'm sure he wanted to tear Kurt to pieces."
"I thought the same thing." Nick stated. "Hence why I asked what I did. The fact that he didn't flinch when he said that the two cried quite a bit when Blaine told him, told us all we needed to know. So, the fact that Sebastian has been able to behave with all that information, the rest of us can to."
"When in doubt, remember what Sebastian said as I think about it quite a bit." Wes stated. "All us getting upset and lashing at Kurt will do is cause stress for Blaine which none of us want. Right now, let's put all our focus on the good things that are happening for him. In just under two months' time, our boy will have his first single played on the radio. And that's the best revenge Blaine could ever get as he's proving Kurt wrong in such a huge way." Once Wes finished, the guys all looked around at one another and smiled as they knew Wes was right. Blaine was getting revenge in the best way possible, not only was he happy, and in a loving and caring relationship, but he's proving he has the talent to make it.
It wasn't long after the guys left, did Blaine and Sebastian head off to meet Sebastian's parents for brunch. During the ride over, Sebastian held Blaine's hand tightly knowing opening up to the guys had been harder on Blaine than he was letting on. And that wasn't even getting into the guilt he was feeling for not spending as much time with Sebastian's parents, as Sebastian had spent with his. "Bas, I have a question that I realized is probably more appropriate for you to answer, than your parents. Though, I'd totally get it if you told me it was none of my business."
"And what would that be Killer?"
"Considering your parents accents, where were you primarily raised as you don't have one?" Instantly a smile crept to Sebastian's face at Blaine's questions as it didn't surprise him. Even though it wasn't as strong as it used to be, there was no hiding the fact that his Dad was British, nor the fact that his Mom is French. "I'm sorry, that must've sounded rude."
"Not in the slightest. I grew up mainly in the States, I was born here. But as you know I also spent quite a few years living in Paris. Though, if my Dad had more of a choice, we probably would've lived in England. Yet, since the firm he was working with before everything happened that had us come to Ohio dealt with International Law, he traveled quite a bit. And living in the States was easier."
"What about your Mom?"
"She has offices both here in the States and France."
"Offices?"
"B, she owns and runs her own design firm. Unlike a few of my Aunts, she needed something she was passionate about instead of doing the society thing. The same goes with my Dad, though more of his siblings work." When Blaine looked at him, Sebastian smiled. "Go ahead and ask B, as you won't be the first."
"No, as that would be rude and it's really not any of my business."
"Blaine, it's okay. Hell, the first time most of the guys came over to my place they were shocked."
"Most?"
"Yea, Thad had a better idea than the others about how wealthy my family is as we talked quite a bit on bus trips at Dalton." When Blaine began to chew on his lower lip, Sebastian placed his hand on Blaine's jaw, and turned him to look at him. "Does it bother you?"
"No, it's just…I, don't know."
"It's okay B, as I know it can be quite a bit of a shock. But as you can tell, while I have my moments, my parents taught me a good appreciation for what we have. And while I was quite the jerk about it in high school, a lot of that stemmed from the way those of us with money were treated by those that don't. So, I had some fun being the arrogant, rich, asshole everyone perceived me to be. Was I arrogant, sure, but not all the time."
"I know."
"And as I told you once before, I could've easily lived off my trust fund, but I didn't want that. I'm very much my parents' child in that regard as both of them work and they really don't have to."
"So, if we were to categorize your family would it be old money or new money?"
"Old, very old." Sebastian replied with a smile. "But unlike a lot of those with old money, my parents don't look down at those with new money as they know they worked hard for it. Though, I've got a few relatives that have sticks firmly wedged up their asses in that they think they are better than anyone else. Now, if you have any more questions feel free to ask my parents as they'll be quick to tell you if you're getting a bit too personal." Blaine smiled before stretching to give Sebastian a kiss on the cheek just as they pulled up to the restaurant.
Shortly, after they entered the restaurant, Sebastian's parents came walking in and hugs were instantly exchanged. Sebastian had to smile as Blaine apologized once again for let his news disrupt their weekend. But Xavier was quick to tell him he had nothing to apologize for as it's not as though he planned for that news to be given when it was. And that it was only right for him to share it with those that have supported him.
Once they were escorted to their table, they settled into conversation that was a bit more personal versus the one from the night before which had lots of questions about what was happening with Blaine. "Blaine and I have something rather funny to share with you both, though it mainly concerns you Dad." Sebastian said after they placed their order.
"And what might that be Sebastian." Xavier asked before taking a sip of his coffee.
"You've met Blaine's Mom before." Sebastian told him with a smile. "Isn't that correct B?"
"That would be correct." Blaine replied, causing Victoria to look at them both before taking a sip of her mimosa. "But, it wasn't in a social setting. She was a key witness for you in a case you brought forth about a year ago." Xavier looked closer at Blaine before looking at Sebastian whose expression slowly changed as his Dad figured things out.
"Wait, your Mom is Katherine Anderson?"
"Yes." Blaine said with a smile. "When I spoke with her last night, your name came up and that's when she put the pieces together.
"She prefers to be called Kate though." Sebastian said with a slight smirk. "We all got a good laugh about it last night."
"Bas is right. Up until last night for some reason we really hadn't really used any of our parents' first names with one another."
"And yours is one people tend not to forget Dad." Sebastian said before taking a sip of his mimosa.
"That's unbelievable." Xavier said. "Your Mom is brilliant Blaine. If it wasn't for the work she did there was no way I would've been able to prove my case."
"That's good to know as my Mom was quite impressed with your skills as well." Blaine told him. "Is it true that you went to Oxford?"
"I did."
"Now you know why going to Columbia is no big deal." Sebastian said with a light laugh.
"It's a very big deal Sebastian." Victoria chimed in with. "Let's not forget you also graduated with honors."
"Did you now?" Blaine asked as he looked at Sebastian beside him.
"I did, and I'm sure my Mom will be more than happy to tell you all about it."
"Sebastian."
"You know it's not something I like to make a big deal about."
"Bas."
"I will tell you all about it later B, though I'm sure she probably has a picture from that day on her phone as she took more than enough."
"Yet you know it had quite a bit to you getting into Law school." Xavier said trying to calm things as he knew how Sebastian felt about it.
"I know, but that doesn't mean I want a big deal made out of it." While Sebastian spoke, Victoria handed her phone to Blaine because as Sebastian thought, she did have a picture of him from graduation on it. "But now that you know you have at least met Blaine's Mom before, it should make that dinner a little less awkward for you all since you'll be having it without us." Once he was done speaking, Sebastian noticed Blaine looking at him. "What?"
"You didn't only graduate with singular honors."
"I know." Sebastian said with a wink before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek. "Now, am I going to be able to go to your graduation or are only your parents able to attend?"
"You'll be able to attend if you want to since Talia will have an extra ticket since her Dad won't be able to attend. Otherwise I would've had to enter the lottery for the chance for an extra ticket."
"Do you mind me asking why he won't be able to?" Victoria asked.
"He's currently out to sea. He's in the Navy and won't be returning State side till a month later." Blaine replied. "Needless to say, the first time they see each other is when we'll be on tour."
"While it might not be where he imagined, I don't doubt they'll make the most of it."
"Talia said the same thing. Plus, she can't wait for him to see us play."
"From what we've seen, he's in for quite the treat." Xavier told him, causing him to smile a bit wider before thanking him.
Once their food was brought, the conversation continued and Sebastian asked his Mom if she'd be willing to help them make some changes to the apartment so it felt more like their space and not his which Blaine moved into. After he asked, Victoria and Xavier both noticed both boys looked a bit tense as they'd only mentioned moving in together in passing conversation. "If you'd both like my help, of course I'd be willing to do so."
"We would." Sebastian replied after looking at Blaine who was relieved to not see Sebastian's parents taken back by the news. "While we have an idea of how to blend our two styles, we thought it would be best to ask an expert. And I just happen to have a close relationship with one."
"You most certainly do. I take it you both approve of each other's tastes?"
"We do." Blaine replied.
"You'd love B's place Mom as his actually got exposed brick inside his apartment."
"Do you want to bring that style into Sebastian's apartment or are you boys looking to create something new together?"
"A bit of both." Sebastian told her.
"If that's the case, after we're done if you don't mind, why don't we go by Blaine's so I can get a better idea of his style and we'll see what we can come up with."
"B, what do you think?"
"It sounds like a great idea."
"Then after brunch, we'll be heading to your place Blaine." Victoria told him, causing the two boys to look at one another and smile.
"Sebastian I hope you warned Blaine what getting your Mom involved entails." Xavier told him knowing how enthusiastic Victoria could get on certain projects. And he remembered all too clearly when she and Sebastian designed his apartment in the first place.
"I have and he understands."
