Me: Hiya!
Keith: *rubs his stomach* the memory is still painful
Karrie: geez, I didn't hit you THAT hard
Summer: Today's the first day of school, isn't it?
Me: yep!
Karrie: oh shoot me now
Keith: I would but Ash won't let me have a gun
Me: you would hold someone hostage for food behind my back for all I know
Keith: I wouldn't actually use it and you know it!
Me: *gives Keith a water gun*
Keith: not what I had in mind, but *shoots Karrie with water*
Karrie: I didn't mean literally!
Summer: those two are always so full of energy
Ben: and I'm not? *bouncing on a Pilates ball*
Summer: T.T I'm surrounded by energetic people with attention problems
Karrie: *holds up a bag full of cookies* I found Keith's stash!
Me: D= he's been hiding cookies from me?!
Keith: mah cookies! *tries to get the cookies*
Hannah: cookies! *whacks Keith in the head with a wooden sword and takes the cookies from Karrie*
Nick: *runs in*would you stop trying to eat all the cookies?
Hannah: but I like cookies =(
Nick: I know you do, but so do other people
Hannah: =( *walks out of the room with Nick with Keith's cookies*
Keith: I'm never getting those back, am I?
Me: O.O probably not
Karrie: how's your head?
Keith: *lumps grows on his head* painful
Summer: *puts ice on Keith's head* you guys are hopeless
Ben: pokelover0ash does not own anything. She only owns her OCs and her ideas!
Chapter 6
Summer was woken up promptly that morning thanks to Nathan pushing her out of bed, literally. She landed with a thud and immediately tripped Nathan on reflex. Lunick glared at the two of them for waking him up. Summer smiled sheepishly at him before running into the bathroom to get changed.
Nathan was in the process of dragging Lunick and Ben out of bed when Summer came out. It was kind of funny to see the grumpy trainer dragging the two boys out of bed kicking and screaming. Nathan crossed his arms and tapped his foot impatiently as the two boys scrambled to get ready. Apparently Nathan does not like being late to things, even if it is to things he is being forced to go to.
The four roommates walked to the auditorium where they were seated in the first year section. They listened (well Summer did, Nathan most likely just listened to some of it, Ben took a nap, and Lunick played tetris on his phone). Everyone was given schedules and manuals to look over.
"Sam, look! We have the same testing period!" Ben exclaimed and Nathan scowled.
"Cool," Summer replied as Nathan and Lunick stared at each other. It looked like the two of them were stuck with each other.
The first test of the day was academics. Summer was fairly confident that she aced it. Her best friend was a genius after all. The next test was pokemon identification and other pokemon related topics. Summer was more than confident that she aced that one. She grew up closely with pokemon and her brother was one of the best in that area of expertise.
One of the last tests of the day was something Karrie would have LOVED so much. It was a test of athletic capabilities. There was running, jumping, swinging, obstacle courses, and climbing.
"Alright! I'm going to ace this one!" Ben exclaimed.
"This is going to be fun," Summer commented with a smile. It was fun competing against each other and Summer began to feel as if she could be completely herself with Ben. The was one minor problem: Summer can't risk telling anyone in the school that she is a girl, not a boy.
The last test of the day was using a capture styler. Everyone was timed to see how fast and effective they could use a styler. The test made Summer glad that she used to borrow Kaleb's styler without permission and practice with it.
"How did you guys do?" Summer asked as they were approached by Nathan and Lunick.
"Won't know for sure until they post the scores tomorrow," Nathan replied before pointing at Lunick. "Totally kicked his *beep* though."
"That's funny," Lunick commented. "This is coming from the guy who didn't know how to use a capture styler."
"I come from the trainer regions, we do things differently over there, it's much different," Nathan replied as he put his hands behind his head.
'Like there's more equality between the genders there than here.' Nathan thought.
~with Karrie and Jewels~
"I swear if this stupid thing doesn't end soon, I'm leaving," Karrie mumbled as she sat during an assembly next to Jewels. The assembly had started two hours ago and was still going on.
"This is ridiculous," Jewels commented quietly.
"Excuse me, ladies in the back, is there something you would like to share?" The speaker asked. Karrie swore under her breath as everyone looked at her and Jewels. Karrie took a deep breath and looked defiantly into the speaker's eyes.
"Why yes, of course, where are my manners?" Karrie replied with a fake sweet smile. Her words dripped with sarcasm. "Oh, that's right, I must have lost them over an hour ago just like I have lost the feeling of my bum." There was some snickering, but people were quickly hushed.
"Are you trying to challenge me and the school's authority?" The speaker asked and Karrie rose her eyebrows.
"Well, ma'am, that wasn't my initial intention, but if you want to take it that way, then, by all means, yes," Karrie replied.
"If you do not apologize right now, you will be the first person to get detention this year," the speaker said and Karrie had to stop herself from laughing.
"Oh so first we get the right to pick whatever career we want taken away and now our right to speak our minds is taken away?" Karrie asked. "What's next? Are you going to try controlling what we think?" The speaker turned red and Jewels laughed.
"You have guts girl," Jewel commented and Karrie smiled.
"Ladies do not backtalk," the speaker exclaimed.
"Ladies also know when to shut up," Jewels countered with a grin. "Which is a skill you obviously lack. Ma'am, you have been talking about how great you and this school are for two, going on three, hours." The audience erupted into laughter.
"I'll see both of you in detention," the speaker said before continuing on with her speech.
After getting official detention slips, Jewels and Karrie participated in a series of placement tests. All the tests seemed fairly simple and the only test Karrie could have possibly failed would have been the one on proper feminine behavior.
"Hey first years," a bunch of girls called out and Karrie stopped while Jewels looked at them. "You two showed a lot of guts earlier."
"Thank you," Karrie replied though she was unsure if the girls were actually trying to compliment them.
"You also seem to lack respect and manners," one of the girls said as her friends cracked their knuckles. "Jewels, you're hair is too short, you sound weird, and act like you're better than all of us."
'That's because I'm a boy and I am better than you, you peasant.' Jewels thought.
"And Karrie, you think that you can do anything you want and get away with it, don't you?" Another girl asked. Karrie shrugged.
'Sorry I'm not a brainwashed girly girl?' Karrie thought before getting slapped.
"What was that for?" Jewels asked.
"Time to teach you both a lesson," the girls replied. Long story cut short, Karrie kicked all of their butts. She knocked out a few, broke someone's nose, and inflicted a lot of bruises on everyone else.
"What is the meaning of this?" One of the teachers asked and Karrie frowned as she held a girl up by her collar.
"Self defense," Karrie replied.
"We're screwed." Jewels commented under his breath. "Stupid she-beast."
"What was that?" Karrie asked Jewels harshly.
"She just attacked us," one of the girls exclaimed and Karrie let go of the girl.
"No, I didn't," Karrie replied. "You girls started it, I just finished it. Next time don't pick a fight you're going to lose."
"Karrie, violence is deplorable," the teacher scolded. "Jewels, did you fight?"
"Why would I get my hands dirty?" Jewels asked as his upper class upbringing started to kick in.
"Then go get some of the teachers to help escort these fine ladies to the infirmary," the teacher ordered and Jewels frowned before obeying. "Miss Chandler, you're looking at a suspension if you're lucky." Karrie frowned and crossed her arms.
"It was self defense, they called us out, one of the girls slapped me," Karrie replied. "They were going to try to beat me and Jewels up. Are you telling me I should have just taken it? I should have let them hurt me and another human being?"
"Why should I believe your word over those outstanding ladies?" The teacher asked. "And how do I not know if you provoked them to start a fight?" Karrie sighed and brushed her fingers through her bangs.
"No use trying to convince you when you have already made up your mind," Karrie replied. "Arceus, this place is messed up."
"Karrie?" Rhythmi asked as she walked over. "What happened?" Karrie explained her side of the story to the blonde operator. "Physical fights are a direct violation of the rules."
"Sorry, next time I'll try the friendly debate approach the next time a witch slaps me and tries to hurt me or others," Karrie replied sarcastically.
"Teacher, what if I work out a deal, instead of her being kicked out?" Rhythmi asked. "I'll take her under my wing and help her learn the accepted ways of a lady and an operator." Karrie blinked at the blonde.
"We'll see," the teacher replied before taking both girls to the headmistress's office. Rhythmi fought hard for Karrie even though Karrie absolutely loathed the school. What saved Karrie wasn't Rhythmi, but rather a call from the head of the operating department, Erma.
"I see," the headmistress said before hanging up. "It seems as though she wants Karrie to go through this school no matter what and we now have explicit orders that we cannot expel or suspend Karrie no matter what." Karrie wasn't sure if she should cry or cheer at the news. "So instead, you're punishment will be the following: you have to wear whatever Rhythmi tells you to wear for five months, take tutoring sessions with Rhythmi, tryout for the cheerleading squad, and be on either the gymnastics or the dance team for a year." Karrie's jaw dropped.
"She agrees to the terms and conditions," Rhythmi replied for Karrie. Karrie was a little annoyed, but grateful for the blonde teenager. Afterwards, Karrie thanked Rhythmi. "No problem, I made a promise to your brother that I would look after you."
"I don't need to be looked after," Karrie said as she put her hands behind her head. "But seeing as this school is full of crazy ladies, I have a feeling I might end up appreciating your help and that promise.
"Now that that is settled, what size are you?" Rhythmi asked and Karrie jumped in surprised.
"What?" Karrie exclaimed as she blushed. Rhythmi took out a measuring tape, a notebook, and a pen. She started to record measurements of Karrie's size. "What are you doing?"
"So I can get you proper clothes," Rhythmi replied. "This is going to be so much fun! I don't get the opportunity to shop for and dress someone other than myself often." Karrie shrank back in fear.
'Just what did Kellyn get me into?' Karrie thought to herself.
~meanwhile~
"Keith, status update," the head of the council said in a dimly lit conference room.
"The enemy has been using guns and other weapons against us," Keith replied. "I fear they might start becoming more bold and use bombs."
"Why is it they are giving our boys so much difficulty?" A council member asked.
"Most rangers are not equipped with the skills to handle combat and weapons, the enemy does not follow just one method of stealing pokemon, the enemy has no problem trying to kill them, and, oh, one more thing, the enemy has a lot of skilled females who have no problems trying to use their assets to get the upper hand," Keith replied calmly.
"What do you need from us?" Another council member asked.
"Permission to scout and recruit people who have the skills to equip my team with better chances at beating the enemy," Keith replied. "I need permission to look at more than just rangers as possible recruits for my team. I need people who know how to fight, to not be fooled by their opponent no matter what gender the opponent is. My team needs more skilled people and my team needs more training."
"You also need weapons, don't you?" A council member asked and Keith sighed a little.
"Ideally, yes," Keith replied. "I know it's not in our policy, but right now the enemy has the upper hand and could easily endanger the lives of our citizens and pokemon."
"I was planning on holding a shooting competition in the upcoming school festival, to see if we could lure in some of the enemy, but you might be able to use it to find what you're looking for," the head of the council said. "Everything needs to be run by the Union still, but for now we will grant you permission to scout for new members. Dismissed." Keith exited the room and let out a deep breath.
'That went over a little too well.' Keith thought. He walked down the hall and bumped into Kaleb.
"You're alive," Kaleb commented as he looked amused.
"Yeah, standing before the council is intense," Keith replied as he scratched his head. "I feel like I'm going to be condemned for something every time I walk through those doors."
"So how is it going?" Kaleb asked.
"I got permission to scout on my own for new members and not have to restrict it to just rangers," Keith replied before sighing. "Don't know where to start."
"Evaluate your team and make note of what you're lacking and need," Kaleb suggested. "That should help you start."
"Thanks Kal," Keith replied with a smile.
"How are things going with Rhythmi?" Kaleb asked and Keith shivered in fear. "Bad?"
"As long as she never finds out that I flirted with Kellyn's sister, I think I'll survive," Keith replied. "Are all girls so darn clingy and demanding?" Kaleb shrugged. "What's it like dating a trainer?"
"Ashleigh's pretty unique trainer wise, not sure if she's the best comparison," Kaleb said. In Kaleb's mind, Ashleigh was a goddess of light in comparison to Rhythmi. Rhythmi was, in comparison to Ashleigh, the queen of hell in Kaleb's mind. "From what I've learned experience wise with girls is that they should be treated with respect and as equals."
"Equals?" Keith asked in shock.
"Hey, I've met and known quite a few girls in my life who can keep up with us no problem," Kaleb replied. "I also have met quite a few girls who could easily kick one of our *beep*, no problem." Kaleb thought of Ashleigh and how she put many male trainers to shame during her glory days. He also thought of her friends: Ashley who was a stubborn girl with an attitude who also seemed to really not Kaleb for whatever reason; Erica who was an honest hardworking girl who had no problem competing against boys; Cassidy who was a crazy sassy girl who wasn't afraid to make a guy's life living hell; and Jade who proved everyone wrong by becoming one of the best pokemon professors in the world. Kaleb almost shivered in fear when he thought of Hannah, Sarah, and Teah. Even Rose seemed like a woman one should fear.
Of course, those were just the girls native to trainer regions who had no part in the Ranger Union. Kaleb would hate to think what Keith's reaction would be if he told Keith that Zenya, the silent strong mechanic, and Elita, the ice queen of Fiorre, were among those strong women he should fear more than Rhythmi, but for different reasons of course. Kaleb knew Keith already could guess that Karrie was among one the girls who could easily keep up with him seeing as she almost knocked him out with one punch. Summer could probably do the same to him, except she is now disguising herself as a boy.
"I would like to meet some of these girls then," Keith said and Kaleb shrugged.
"I'll see what I can do, but it's your funeral," Kaleb replied.
"Tell them to come to the festival," Keith said before running off.
'What the heck just happened?' Kaleb thought to himself as he watched Keith run away.
~later that day~
"Why am I carrying these boxes again?" Kaleb asked as he looked over Nick.
"Because Ashleigh asked you if you could help move luggage for a couple of her friends," Nick replied and Kaleb sighed. Sure enough, behind him, Ashleigh and her pokemon were carrying stuff as Teah talked to a few newcomers.
"I feel like we're being invaded," Kaleb commented.
"Welcome to my life," Nick replied. "It's just for the concert and festival."
"As long as her one friend that seems to hate my guts doesn't come, I'm good," Kaleb commented.
"The brown haired brown eyed chick with the pig tails is Lyra," Nick said as they worked. "She's a powerful trainer and a pianist." Kaleb nodded. "The obnoxious blue haired girl is Topaz, really athletic and impulsive. She's not the sharpest tool in the shed. The two girls who look almost exactly alike are Blue and Moon, they're sisters. The tallest is the oldest and most devious. She's like the brown haired version of Sarah, except she has boobs." Nick was whacked in the head by a cookie tray. "Sorry, ignore the comment on the boobs, for my health's sake." Kaleb tried not to laugh. "Moon is a bit of an airhead. She always seems to have berries and items to cure ailments for pokemon, for whatever reason. Garnet is the runt of a boy with black hair and red eyes. He makes the best food ever, just saying. Not sure why he's here though. Gold's black haired guy with the yellow eyes who keeps hitting on girls. Crystal's the blunette who keeps whacking him in the head."
"And you've met Emily and Cassidy," Ashleigh added with a smile. Kaleb smiled back as he put down some of the luggage.
"Don't forget about me!" A girl around Kiwi's age exclaimed. She had blue eyes and curly brown hair that was pulled into pig tails. "I'm Sakura." Teah walked over and picked the girl up by her collar.
"And you were supposed to be home," Teah commented and Sakura sweat dropped.
"Hehe, nice to see you too, big sis?" Sakura replied nervously. Teah sighed and put the girl down.
"Just don't get into any trouble, got it?" Teah said and Sakura nodded.
"Yo Kaleb!" Cassidy, a tall black haired teenage girl, exclaimed as she ran over. She slapped Kaleb on the back hard. "Long time no see! How far have you and my best friend gone?"
"CASSIDY!" Ashleigh exclaimed with a red face. "Could you at least try to keep your mind out of the gutter?" Cassidy thought about it for a moment and Emily, an orange haired blue eyed teenage girl, ran over.
"Ah, nope, don't think so," Cassidy replied. "But I'll try to keep a filter on while I'm here." Kaleb let out a sigh of relief.
"Ashleigh!" Emily exclaimed as she hugged her dear friend. She looked at Kaleb and smiled. "It's good to see you again, Kaleb."
"Same," Kaleb replied with a nod.
"So what did Keith want you to do?" Ashleigh asked after everything was put in its rightful place. She was leaning on top of the couch as he sat on it. Everyone else was gathered in the area.
"He wants me to tell some of the women that I think could keep up with rangers and/or could kick all of our rear ends to come to the festival," Kaleb replied. "He finally got permission to scout and recruit non-rangers for his team."
"Oh, I remember seeing a flyer for that!" Ashleigh exclaimed. "Who can participate in the shooting competition anyways?"
"You can shoot?" Kaleb asked, a little surprised.
"No, but Blaziken wants to try it out," Ashleigh replied with a smile.
"You know, you're pokemon really scare me sometimes," Kaleb commented as he sweat dropped.
"If it's open to the general public, I don't see why not," Hannah commented. "I want to try their cookies."
"You and your cookies," Nick commented as he put his hands behind his head.
"I was planning on going to advertise for our girl power concert anyways," Teah said. "I am one of said women you were talking about, right?"
"Yeah, call it intuition or whatever, but I get the feeling that you have no problem kicking butt even in high heels," Kaleb replied. Teah smiled as he was spot on.
"I love festivals," Lyra commented with a smile. "I'll go too."
"Count Em and me in!" Cassidy exclaimed.
"I'll knock 'em dead!" Topaz exclaimed.
"Just don't do anything stupid," Garnet commented.
"Nathan will be there too so it will be fun with all of us!" Moon exclaimed. Kaleb rose his eyebrows.
"Messing with boys is an old hobby of mine," Rose said and Kaleb felt a shiver shoot down his spine.
"That sounds so messed up," Sarah commented as her brother clung to Hannah who was blushing.
"Save me, Nana," Nick exclaimed.
"Don't call me Nana," Hannah replied.
"If there's games and girls there, I'm in," Gold commented only to be hit in the head by Crystal.
"You're not a strong woman," Crystal replied.
"But I can still go!" Gold protested.
"Fine, you can come, but no funny business," Crystal replied. "I'll be keeping my eye on you."
"It's a perfect opportunity to try to set people up," Blue commented. "So I'm in!"
"Keith really just might end up digging his own grave," Kaleb commented before sighing. Ashleigh hugged him from behind and he put his hands on her arms. She put her head next to his.
"But at least he has someone like you to turn to for a friend," Ashleigh replied before kissing him lightly on the cheek. Kaleb blushed and turned his head to kiss her on the lips.
"So adorable!" Blue exclaimed as Sarah took a picture of it.
Now if only we could get our other pairings to do that," Teah commented.
Ashleigh and Kaleb smiled at each other as they ignored Blue's and Teah's comments. To them, they knew they were two of the luckiest people on earth to have each other and there was no way they were going to let something ruin it for them.
"Now Nick, copy Kaleb and kiss Hannah!" Sarah exclaimed and Nick turned bright red.
"Why?" Nick asked.
"No! Kiss me instead!" Rose exclaimed.
"No way he's kissing you!" Hannah exclaimed.
"Sarah! Look what you started!" Nick complained.
"If you would kiss the girl you love, then you wouldn't have this problem!" Sarah exclaimed.
"But she might kill me!" Nick exclaimed.
"Grow some balls man!" Cassidy exclaimed.
"You're pathetic," Dark commented. "You've liked her for how long?"
"S-Shut up!" Nick exclaimed as he let go of Hannah. Rose went to kiss him and Hannah pushed Nick away. Nick scrambled as he tried to fall on the floor. He sped off to one of the bedrooms and shut the door behind him. The house fell silent as Rose accidentally kissed Hannah.
Kaleb looked over at the scene before looking at his girlfriend. Ashleigh shrank back and moved silently to the arm of the couch so that she would have at least a couch in between the two powerful women. Kaleb froze in fear as he wondered if he should try to escape like Nick did.
"WHAT THE *beep*!" Rose exclaimed. "You're not Nick!"
"Like I wanted to get kissed on the lips by you!" Hannah yelled.
"Nick! Look what you caused!" Sarah yelled.
"No! It's dangerous!" Nick yelled back.
"That kiss was reserved for Nick only," Rose said as she glared at Hannah. Hannah glared back and the friction and hostility between the two women was so intense Kaleb thought that someone could like a match and an explosion that could wipe out Almia in one blow would ignite. "You'll pay for that."
"That kiss was unwanted," Hannah replied. "How many times do you need to be told to keep your filthy hands off him?"
"And how many times do I have to tell you that Nick is mine?" Rose asked.
"Never realized how bad Nick had it when it came to women," Kaleb whispered quiet enough so that only Ashleigh could hear it. Unfortunately, Rose and Hannah overheard him. Kaleb suddenly had two swords pointed at his neck. One was Hannah's, a katana, and the other was Rose's, a rapier. "Please don't kill me."
"I want a sword!" Topaz exclaimed.
"Never happening," Garnet replied. A sword fight broke out in the living room between Rose and Hannah.
"Is this normal?" Kaleb asked.
"Kind of," Ashleigh replied. "It only really happens when Rose and Hannah can no longer tolerate each other's presence."
"For everyone's sake, we try to keep them separated as often as possible," Teah added.
"It used to be a whole lot worse, trust me," Sarah commented.
"I'll take your word for it," Kaleb replied.
~meanwhile~
"Let's go swimming!" Ben exclaimed as he tried to drag Summer to the swimming pool.
"I don't want to!" Summer replied even though she really liked swimming.
"But this is the last chance we have until we have to wear the wetsuits to swim!" Ben complained.
"It's just water," Lunick commented as he took off his shirt. "This is the last time we're going to have free reign in long while. Live it up!" Summer tried not to blush.
"Yeah, what are you so worried about?" Ben asked after taking off his shirt.
"If we tag along, you promise you'll stop bugging me?" Nathan asked.
"I made no such promise," Lunick replied with a smile.
"Not going then," Nathan said. "Waste of my time." He started to walk away.
"Hey! If I have to go, then you have to go!" Summer exclaimed. Ben grabbed her shirt. "What are you doing?"
"Helping," Ben replied as he yanked her shirt off. Summer screamed as she covered her chest. She hadn't started to develop anything in the chest yet, but it still made her feel very exposed, like people would be able to tell her true gender. "Woah, you have such a little frame!"
"Didn't think a guy could scream with that high of a pitch," Lunick commented and Summer blushed.
'Crap, crap, crap!' Summer thought to herself as she bit her lip.
"It really startled me," Summer said to defend herself.
"I suppose it makes sense, if you haven't hit puberty yet," Lunick commented with a nod.
'To think not going through puberty yet is saving my rear end.' Summer thought to herself. Lunick grabbed hold of her wrists and pulled her arms away so that Ben and Lunick to investigate why she would try to cover her chest.
"You're so tiny!" Ben exclaimed with a smile. He reached out and felt her ribcage. Summer blushed and bit her lip.
"You really need to eat more, kid," Lunick commented.
"Wonder if you'll fill out with more muscle once we go through puberty," Ben commented as he accidentally touched where Summer's breast would one day develop. Summer pulled her arm down and elbowed Ben in the head hard. "Ow!" Summer put her hands on her hips.
"Stop feeling me up dude!" Summer exclaimed.
"Just wanted to make sure you were a guy," Lunick replied as he blushed. "You don't exactly act like a typical guy."
"Sorry! Sometimes I can't help but touch what I'm looking out!" Ben exclaimed as he frantically waved his arms in the air. Nathan picked up Summer's shirt and dropped it on her head. He looked at Ben and Lunick coldly.
"What are you, gay?" Nathan asked. "You two don't act like typical boys half the time either."
"I'm straight!" Ben and Lunick yelled. Summer put her shirt back on before sighing.
"We're a bunch of weirdos," Summer commented. "Just because someone acts different from the norm doesn't mean that their the opposite gender or gay. Even if that's the case, no reason to call them out on it and act out to put the other person in an embarrassing awkward situation." Summer brushed herself off. "Nathan, you don't act like a typical guy either, glaring at everyone." Nathan glared at her which proved Summer's point.
"Sorry Sam, guess we got too carried away," Ben said as he bowed apologetically. "Come swimming with us next time!" Lunick and Ben ran off and Nathan sighed.
"That was close," Nathan commented. "Thank goodness you're flat chested." Summer picked up a rock and threw it at Nathan's head. "What was that for?"
"The flat chested comment and not coming to my rescue sooner!" Summer exclaimed.
"Tsk, girls are so touchy when it comes to being told some facts," Nathan replied.
"You are so coldhearted! You have no inclination to acknowledge other's feelings!" Summer exclaimed.
"The truth can hurt," Nathan replied. "I am aware that sometimes people react negatively to what I say and do. I just don't care."
"You're worse than Kaleb," Summer commented as she threw her hands up in defeat. They walked back to their room together.
