"BRINGGGG BRINGGG!" Lizzie McDonald blindly swatted at the snooze button on her alarm clock. Slowly, she arose from her bed, and stretched, tired and not ready for a day of class. She knew that she should probably get ready for class if she was going to make it to the coffee shop across campus before her first class.
She took a quick shower and then got dresses. Lizzie had grown up to be beautiful, just like her older sister. She remained to be more of a tomboy than Casey, but she had the same beautiful long brown hair as her and grew up just as tall as her. Lizzie shrugged on a plain black t-shirt, a green and black plaid shirt, leggings, and combat boots. She quickly headed out of her dorm room. She quickly walked over to the coffee shop and got her usual order; black coffee, and today she also bought herself a bagel.
As she turned around to look for a seat, she suddenly heard her name being called. "Liz!" She turned around and saw Edwin waving her over. It was kind of funny; the similarities between Casey and Derek and Lizzie and Edwin, both filled out into nice adults; Edwin grew tall and muscular, and the pair both went to the same University, but instead of going to Queen's (don't own) like their oldest siblings, the pair both went to the University of Toronto (don't own). "Hey Ed." She said as she sat down on the seat across from him. "So did you study for that Lit test we have today?" Lizzie asked as she took a sip of her coffee. "Nah, I was busy with other things." Edwin said smugly, motioning to a girl sitting in the corner of the shop, who smiled flirtatiously back at him. Lizzie rolled her eyes, "You're disgusting Edwin." Edwin shrugged and smiled.
The two enjoyed their breakfast in silence, until Fiona, Lizzie's best friend slid into the seat right next to her. "Hey Liz, guess what's happening tonight?" Fiona asked excitedly Edwin watched the duo with an amused expression, he loved watching the two interact; Fiona was bubbly, crazy, and joyful, while Lizzie was the collected, serious, and reserved one; they were the perfect balance. "What?" Lizzie asked, preparing herself for Fiona's latest plan. "The Biggest Fraternity of the Year! That's what!" She said, clapping her hands together excitedly. Lizzie couldn't help but smile at her friend's enthusiasm, "Wow, that's the coolest thing." Lizzie said sarcastically, earning a gentle smack from her friend. "Don't make fun of me! It's gonna be awesome! You have to go, right Edwin?" She said, nodding to Edwin for backup. "Yeah sure." He shrugged, and Lizzie shot him a glare. "C'mon Liz, It's going to be so fun! And it's a good way to celebrate the end of finals!" Fiona pleaded. Lizzie sighed, "I don't know Fi, parties aren't really my thing." Fiona then gave Lizzie the puppy dog face, "Please at least consider it." "I'll consider it." Fiona's face lit up and she stood up, "Great, later babe!" She quickly bounced out of the coffee shop. As soon as she was gone, Edwin burst out laughing, "What?" She asked with a glare. "N-nothing." He mumbled, trying to get the words out mid-laugh, "I'm just trying to picture you at an actual college party." He said, laughing more. "And why is that funny?" She asked, crossing her arms. "Well you're kind of a homebody like Casey, you don't let loose ever. Anyway if you did go, you would just complain, sit in the corner, and probably come in sweats." Lizzie was angry now, "I can go to a college party like a normal person, I'm not an alien Edwin. If I'm that embarrassing to you why do we even bother socializing in public." Lizzie said angrily. "Liz, calm down, and that's just who you are and that's great, I like you for who you are." Edwin said calmly. "Screw you Edwin." She said, storming out of the coffee shop. When she got outside, she whipped out her cell phone and quickly called Fiona. "Liz? What's wrong?" Fiona asked. "Nothing at all. I just wanted to let you know that I'm in for the party tonight." She said. Lizzie would make sure Edwin ate his words.
That night after classes, Lizzie headed right to her dorm room to get ready for the party. She had just gotten into the room, when Fiona, who also happened to be her roommate, came in. "I'm so excited that you're coming tonight!" Fiona said happily. "Yeah about that. I want to get the full college effect, so will you help me get ready?" She asked, and Fiona's face immediately lit up, "Yes yes yes! Don't worry about a thing, I will completely take care of you!" Fiona quickly scurried to get her makeup and hair supplies.
About 45 minutes later, Fiona was all finished. Lizzie then went to go examine herself in the mirror. She had smoky colored makeup, her hair in loose curls, a royal blue tank top, dark denim shorts, and combat boots. "Whoa," Lizzie whispered, almost just talking to herself. "I know right." Fiona agreed. "You look hot." Lizzie blushed, she had never really thought of herself as pretty, and it was a shock to see her look so different. "You ready to go?" Fiona asked, bringing Lizzie out of her thought. Lizzie nodded, looked at herself one more time, then followed behind Fiona out of the dorm.
When the two arrived at the Fraternity house, the party was already in full swing. Music blared, and there were swarms of people, in the house, and all outside. Lizzie gulped; she had never been to anything like this before. As if reading her mind, Fiona whispered, "Relax, it's gonna be fun." into her ear.
As the pair walked into the house, Fiona led a nervous Lizzie to two fraternity brothers, one who was president of the fraternity. "Hey Greg! This party is great, thanks for the invite." Fiona said, giving Greg a friendly hug. "Anytime Fiona, you can always come over, you're always welcome." Greg said with a smile, and a subtle blush washing over his face. As the two made lovey eyes towards each other, the other boy coughed as to interrupt. "You haven't introduced this cutie yet." The boy said, pointing at a now blushing Lizzie. "Oh sorry Rory. This is my best friend and roommate Lizzie McDonald." Rory smirked, "Pleasure to meet you, I'm Rory." He said grabbing her hand as if to shake it, but instead brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. "Where have you been hiding?" He asked seductively. "No where, I've been around if you've looked." Lizzie replied bluntly. Lizzie was about to ditch the guy when she saw Edwin walk in. He soon spotted her, and the look on his face was priceless. He looked like he was about to head over, so Lizzie quickly grabbed Rory's arm and gave him a flirtacious look. "You wanna dance?" Rory asked. Lizzie nodded, giving Edwin one last look before allowing Rory to drag her to the floor.
As they danced, Lizzie became more uncomfortable with Rory. He insisted on grabbing her hips, and pulling her close. She didn't want to be proven wrong by Edwin so she allowed him to keep his hands on her. He flipped her around, so her rear was grinding up against him. She was about to tell him to back off a bit when he whispered in her ear, "I'm thirsty, let's take a break." She nodded and followed him.
As he pulled her hand, she realized that they had gone right by the drink table. "I thought we were getting a drink?" Lizzie asked suspiciously. "No I said I was thirsty. I didn't say what for though." Rory replied slyly, quickly pulling her close to him.
He then leaned in and started kissing her neck. He had his arm tightly locked around her rear, and was softly sucking her neck and bare shoulders. "Rory, no." Lizzie said firmly. He shushed her, and continued kissing her, now squeezing her butt. "Hands off my ass, now." Lizzie said, her nervousness causing her voice to shake. The shakiness caused Rory to ignore her and continue groping her. He strongly grabbed both of her wrists in one of his large paws, and started moving his free hand all over her, and Lizzie was now feeling angry, but also very scared. The only thing she could think to do was to knee him straight in the groin. Her soccer skills gave her great strength and he released her while cupping his now hurting groin. "No means no, asshole." She said, getting ready to walk away. "Bitch." Rory yelled angrily, and Lizzie had no intention of turning around until he heard another voice behind her. "What did you just call her?" The second voice, who Lizzie quickly realized was Edwin, asked angrily. Lizzie turned around and found a very angry Edwin, giving Rory a death glare. "I called her a bitch, she kneed me in the balls." He replied, getting equally as angry. "Well I saw the whole thing and it looked like you can't take a pretty damn obvious hint that she wasn't into you. A man who treats a woman like that is the real bitch. Yo-" Edwin was cut off by Rory, "What did you just call me?" Rory asked, trying to puff out his chest, Edwin, who had grown up to be a tall muscular man, just smirked at his attempt to scare him. "You heard me." Edwin said calmly.
Rory quickly lunged for Edwin, and the two started fighting. Lizzie was horrified, she tried to break up the fight, but ended up getting smacked right in the eye by Rory, stumbling onto the floor. At this point, people noticed, and two of Edwin's friends helped him, and pinned Rory to the wall while Edwin helped Lizzie up. "Are you okay for a minute?" He asked seriously and Lizzie just nodded. Edwin then turned to Rory, "Listen asshole. You do NOT EVER treat a woman like that. You need to apologize to her right this minute." Edwin said crossing his arms. "Sorry." Rory mumbled. Edwin then nodded at his friends to drop Rory, who fell to the ground. "What no more?" Rory asked spitefully. "No, you're shit, you aren't worth any more of my time." He said, turning around to Lizzie. Her eye was quickly swelllng a purple, bluish color. "Jeez Liz, that is quite a shiner." He said, bringing his hand up to her face. As they touched, both felt an electricity run through them, causing both of them to blush. He ran the pad of his thumb over her cheek, looking straight into her beautiful eyes. "C'mon, let's get you fixed up." He said, nodding toward the exit. The two walked in silence, Edwin quickly draped his jacket over Lizzie's tiny body. The pair quickly reached Edwin's dorm room, and he opened the door for her.
She quietly sat on the bed, while he got some ice for her. "Thanks." She said quietly as he handed her the ice pack. "Does it hurt?" he asked gently, as he sat down beside her. "Yeah." She said, wincing slightly as she placed the ice pack to her eye. "I'm so sorry Liz." He said suddenly. "Why? It's not your fault that Rory is a dick." She replied.
He turned to her then gently cupped her chin to get her to face him. "Well I'm sorry about that, but I meant for what I said earlier. About you going to a party. I didn't mean it to sound like that. I was just surprised, and a little scared." He said honestly. Lizzie took her ice pack down to look at him fully. "Scared?" She asked. "Well I thought that if you saw party life, then you would change, and I love you the way you are." He replied, looking down. "Well I don't think party life is for m-wait you love me?" She asked, Edwin's words suddenly sinking in. "I always have Liz, I've been trying to get your attention for years. I've tried jealousy, giving you space, teasing, everything, trying to get you to notice me. Who knew that all I had to do was punch a jerk in the face?" He said, trying to joke. Lizzie was stunned, "I've noticed you for years. I just didn't think that you would ever go for someone like me." She said quietly. "I love you Liz. Always have, always will." He said simply, and with that she leaned in, cupped his face between her hands and kissed him, letting out years of lust into that one kiss.
Sorry this one shot is so long, I kind of got carried away!
