Five Years Later

Part 76

It hadn't come as much of a surprise to Blaine that Santana came over to talk with Sebastian after everything that had happened. Nor, was Blaine surprised that she asked about the proof of Kurt cheating once again. While he hadn't looked through it, as he really didn't care to, he understood her desire to see it. From everything Sebastian as well as Hunter told him, he knew Santana would get quite a kick out of it. Yet Blaine told Sebastian he'd have to think about it, though logically speaking it would probably be best if they kept that information to themselves.

With everything that was going on that week, Blaine was truly looking forward to them having dinner with Victoria on Wednesday evening. It wasn't going to be anything elaborate with as packed as Blaine's schedule was, but that didn't matter to any of them. When Victoria walked into the restaurant, she was promptly greeted by Scott who told her where Blaine and Sebastian were seated. The closer she came, the boys stood, and soon Sebastian was helping her off with her coat before they were all seated once again. "Care to tell my why Scott is with you this evening?" Victoria asked after ordering herself a drink. "Or, do I already know the reason?"

"You know part of the reason." Sebastian replied.

"But, there is a bit more to it, yet it all stems from the benefit." Blaine added. "Needless to say, till things quiet down again, I'm not going anywhere without him. Heck, he's even been at school this week to make certain that Kurt stays away from me."

"Not something one wants, luckily though, Scott makes a good point of staying out of sight." Victoria told him.

"That he does." Sebastian said with a smile. "How about a better topic of conversation such as, how are the renovations is going?" He then glanced at Blaine who smiled before they turned their attention to Victoria. "How is everything going Mom?"

"Surprisingly well, I actually brought some photos of the work in progress so you two could see the conversion." Victoria then pulled her small tablet from her bag and handed it to them. "The deep, bluish-gray paint color you boys chose actually turned out better than I imagined it would. It truly highlights the dark wood bookcases going in."

"How so?" Sebastian asked as he was curious because the three of them had quite the debate going on about wall color for the living room.

"The color turned out softer than I thought it would considering the hue." In that moment, Blaine had paged over and they were getting to see what she meant. "While also not taking away the depth of the room as deeper colors can make a room feel smaller."

"I can see what you mean." Blaine told her as he and Sebastian looked at the picture. "The room still feels open, even with the deeper paint color and darker wood."

"Precisely." Victoria told them. "It's truly giving the apartment an entirely new feeling. What do you boys think so far?"

"I love it." Sebastian replied as they continued to go through pictures of the changes. "I do have one question Mom."

"What would that be Sebastian?"

"Where is the base of the dining room table? I see the glass top, but no base."

"It is currently being re-stained a couple of shades darker so it blends with the rest of the pieces better. We did talk about it."

"I know, I guess I thought they would do it there."

"There was no way that was happening as the fumes would've been too much." Victoria told them. "So, as of right now everything is happening according to schedule. If nothing happens to push us off schedule, you should be able to begin moving things in this weekend."

"I don't know how to thank you." Blaine told her as Sebastian handed the tablet back to her.

"You don't need to thank me Blaine, it's been my pleasure. Plus, you'd be surprised about how this process has given me a bit more insight into the two of you." When Sebastian sighed softly, Victoria shook her head. "Is that really such a bad thing Sebastian? I'd think the two of you would be more worried about the two families getting along so well."

"That might've crossed our minds." Blaine said with a smile as he took ahold of Sebastian's hand beneath the table. "Personally, my biggest concern was you meeting Cooper." The instant she began to giggle, Blaine looked at Sebastian who was smiling.

"See, I told you that you had nothing to worry about B."

"Sebastian is right dear, your brother was nothing but charming during the time we spent with him. It was clear early on how much he cares about you." Victoria told him. "Honestly, the only moment he was at a loss for words, was when he came walking into the kitchen not expecting your parents to have company."

"Well, he would've known if he hadn't surprised them since we knew the four of you were having dinner."

"Your Mom told him that as well. He was a bit shocked to find out who we were."

"That's because my parents and my ex's really didn't spend time together."

"I gathered that when Cooper exclaimed, now this is more like it, families spending time together because they want to, not because they have to."

"Cooper said that?" Blaine inquired, clearly surprised that those words came from his brother of all people.

"Your Dad seemed as surprised. And we got a glimpse into that as well as a further explanation after what happened at the benefit. Even before your Dad spoke his mind a bit; it was clear they really didn't get along."

"That's because I was the bad guy that broke his little boy's heart….ha!" The sarcasm in Blaine's voice was evident and caught Sebastian's attention. "Sorry about that, but this whole thing frustrates me from time to time."

"You don't need to apologize Blaine; it's understandable to feel so considering everything, especially with as long as the two of you have been apart."

"I've told him the same thing numerous times Mom, but B wouldn't be him if he didn't apologize for getting frustrated." Sebastian then leaned over and kissed Blaine on the cheek. "Isn't that the truth B?"

"It is, but as you said Bas, I wouldn't be me if I didn't apologize when I act in that manner."

The three spoke a bit more only pausing to order, and then eat. Throughout that time, a few different things were covered. Blaine filled Victoria in on his upcoming video shoot that weekend that Sebastian was going to attend as well as his senior showcase, and then graduation. Sebastian proceeded to let her know how classes were going as well, as confirming that everything was set up for his internship that summer. That was something he made a point to do as Xavier had been worried considering the boys were going vacation at the end of the school year.

While they enjoyed dessert, Victoria asked questions about Blaine's upcoming single release and the promotion that was going to be involved. From that question alone, the two could tell their parents spent quite a bit of time together as some of the tidbits were about things he'd told his parents. Since they were from earlier conversations, Blaine was able to give her a clearer picture of what was going to be happening. By the time they were all finished and ready to leave, the boys promised Victoria that they'd be by on Friday before Blaine's show to give everything a once over. That way in case something didn't look right, she had time to fix it before they began moving things in.

Once they went their separate ways, Blaine tried to convince Scott that he didn't need to accompany them home, but it was a pointless battle as he was going to make sure the two arrived home safely. The moment they were, Sebastian placed his hands on Blaine's shoulders and began to rub them. "You're tense Killer. Why don't we sit on the couch and you let me give you a massage?"

"I've got work to do Bas." Blaine said softly before glancing back at him, his eyes showing how good the little Sebastian had done felt.

"You're more than capable of multi-tasking B." Sebastian then kissed the top of his head. "If you don't relax, anything you write will be crap because you're tense. Hell, you should be impressed that I didn't offer up other means of releasing tension."

"I am, though only because I'd much rather do that, than work right now. I have so much going through my head Bas."

"All the more reason for you, to let me do this." It didn't take long after they were situated for Blaine to give in to how good what Sebastian was doing felt. He easily could've not done anything the rest of the night, but reached for his laptop so he could get some work done. Approximately ten minutes after Blaine opened, something clicked and Blaine began typing away. Normally Sebastian tries to ignore what Blaine works on, yet with how they were seated, it was hard not to catch glimpses of what he was typing. When Blaine felt the tip of Sebastian's nose teasing the outer edge of his ear, he turned his ear slightly. "Am I distracting you?"

"Slightly, but it feels good." Blaine told him before turning his head further to kiss Sebastian's cheek. "But don't do much else or I won't be able to concentrate and I'm about done. Once I am, I'm all yours to do with as you like." He wasn't too surprised to hear a hitch in Sebastian's breathing with what he'd said. "And I do mean anything you like." Blaine then felt Sebastian sit up a bit straighter, clearly wanting Blaine to finish up.

"Care to tell me the gist of the paper Killer?"

"It's technically chronicling our short tour during break and everything we had to deal with. Everything from the scheduled fare, to the things that were out of our control, as well as the unexpected. That week was quite the learning experience for all of us. I'm sure it would've been crazier if Vincent wasn't with us to handle it."

"Like hotel rooms missing from your reservation?"

"Jeff?"

"Yes, why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't think it was a big deal. After the initial frustration it all worked out. Justin and Todd got a good laugh about it as imagine the rumors that would've flown if someone knew my two female band members shared a room with me. Hell, one of the reasons I didn't stay with the guys is that they know I need a bit of quiet after a show. And they're wired more like Thad and Jeff who tend to take a lot of time to wind down after being so hyped up."

"So the girls stayed with you."

"Yes. I'm surprised you didn't comment about what Justin and Todd mention."

"I'm sure they covered it all, I'm good. Plus, I'm sure at some point people are going to think you are sleeping with one of them at least till it comes out that you're not into girls my love."

"That's quite mature of you."

"Well, the sooner I get a grasp on all the crazy, possible rumors, the better." Sebastian then wrapped his arms around him. "Now hurry up, I've got plenty of things I want us to do tonight."

The rest of the week seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye as Blaine slowly rolled over on Saturday morning to the sound of his alarm. Before he even turned it off he heard Sebastian mumbling into the pillow since Blaine had rolled away. Having to be up so early after a show wasn't easy, but knowing what was happening that day made it a bit easier. Upon coming back into the room with coffee for both of them, Blaine was told his phone went off by Sebastian who was still waking. Not surprisingly the message was from Vincent's assistant making sure Blaine was up and moving. Grateful a text response was all that was necessary; Blaine did so before starting to get dressed.

"Care to tell me why you're smiling Killer as I know you're tired?" Sebastian asked as he dressed as well.

"Waking to beautiful weather is a blessing as it means the original plans for the video are being used. If it had been raining, we would've had to use the back-up which was good, but I prefer where we are shooting today."

"And where might that be as you've been secretive about it."

"We're filming on the High Line." Blaine replied with a smile. "Also, be prepared since Brittany is part of the shoot."

"Thank you for the reminder as I was told she can be quite the handful."

"She can, but in the best way possible." Blaine told him before turning to face him. "You do know you can leave whenever you want today as I have no idea how long it's going to take."

"I know as you've made that clear." Sebastian said as he walked towards him as Blaine was sitting on the bottom of the bed putting his shoes on. "But I won't leave without telling you should I decide to at some point. Just know I probably won't as I'm quite curious about everything that goes into making a video."

"Works for me."

It wasn't a surprise when they got outside and saw Scott standing beside a car to take them to the shoot. During the ride over, Sebastian felt Blaine's grip on his hand begin to tighten the closer they got. While he knew Blaine was excited to do this, he was also nervous since this was a defining moment in everything that was happening. From the moment they were out of the car, they were quickly ushered into the elevator so that Blaine could get ready and filled in on some of the changes. Before they even reached Vincent, Brittany came running towards Blaine and was almost stopped by Scott who Blaine waved off. The moment she wrapped her arms around him, Sebastian couldn't help but smile at the sight. "It's good to see you Britt!" Blaine said after their hug broke. "You remember Sebastian, don't you?"

"I do. Hi Sebastian."

"Hi Brittany." Sebastian said with a smile as he extended his hand to her. "Blaine really happy you wanted to do this."

"I'm happy to be a part of this too; this is a big moment for him." She replied. "You better be taking good care of him."

"Don't worry Brittany, he is." Blaine told her as Vincent waved over to him. "And while I'd love to talk, I'm needed." Blaine then gave Sebastian a quick peck on the cheek before heading over to where Vincent was.

"Have you heard the song yet Brittany?" Sebastian asked since it was now only the two of them and he wasn't quite sure what to say.

"I have, it's really good. Though, I'm not supposed to talk about it because of some of the paperwork I signed. But, since you are Blaine's boyfriend I guess I can talk to you." Brittany then looked at Sebastian a bit more closely. "It's about you, isn't it?"

"As long as you don't tell anyone else about it, it'll be our secret." He said with a smile while not directly answering her question. "Now, why do you think that it's about me?" Sebastian replied as he turned to face her a bit more.

"Blaine sings about getting lost in green eyes the first time he saw them." Brittany told him. "And you have really pretty green eyes Sebastian." She said with a smile.

"Thank you, I appreciate that. Could you do Blaine a favor?"

"Anything." She said with a big smile.

"Don't tell anyone that little bit of information, okay."

"Deal, my lips are sealed."

It was only a few minutes later when Brittany was called away and Vincent's assistant showed Sebastian to a seat he could watch from while not being in the way. She also pointed to the chair beside him and informed him that it was for Jeff. Sebastian was about to ask where the others were when they all appeared and Jeff was prompt to sit down beside him. Watching them all change and get done up for the video was certainly interesting. For Justin and Todd their style was refined a bit, while the girls style was given a bit more of an edge. While watching Todd resituate his drums with the set designer, Jeff could tell Sebastian was eager to see Blaine who'd yet to come out from the tent.

The two were in the middle of a conversation when Jeff began to smile causing Sebastian to look over his shoulder to where Blaine was walking out of the tent. Almost immediately, Sebastian smiled as well and watched as Blaine walked passed him with two people, but not without winking at Sebastian. That little wink seemed to make Sebastian smile more if that was possible. "You might not want to stare so blatantly at your boyfriend's ass." Jeff told him with a slight nudge as once Blaine was passed, Sebastian's eyes had drifted there. But if anyone asked him, how could he not considering how great Blaine's ass looked in the black pants he was wearing.

"Only, if you stop staring at your girlfriend's ass and chest." Sebastian replied as he turned in his chair slightly to watch as Blaine and his band were now on set along with six others, one being Brittany. "They all look great, don't they?"

"They do." Jeff said in response. "I also noticed that Blaine is wearing his trademark piece of jewelry along with quite a few others."

"I saw that too." Sebastian said. "Seeing him perform without it on, would seem weird since he's worn it at every show. Though, he does wear it quite a bit even when he's not performing."

"To quote Morgan, it's so you're always close to his heart even when you're not with him." Jeff told him, bringing what would have to be described as a shy smile to Sebastian's face. "Do you know the concept of the video?"

"I do. While Blaine and the others perform, the others will be telling the story of the song in a sense. Take a good look at how the six of them are set up." Sebastian pointed out. "They are portraying three different couples."

"Why am I not surprised about that? That's really cool! I can't wait to hear it as Morgan is constantly humming parts of it."

"Trust me, after today; you'll be humming it too."

Once everything truly got started, Sebastian understood a bit more about how Blaine felt that when he was performing he felt like he was in a bubble of sorts. Though with this being a video shoot, everything was more choreographed as they needed to make certain Blaine, Justin, and Morgan were facing in the right direction in certain moments. It was during these times, they saw the three of them glance at Talia and Todd more than once since they were in a set position.

From the moment Blaine had mentioned where they were filming, Sebastian had been curious how things were going to play out with it being a public place. For starters, when they were actually playing, Blaine was lip-syncing the vocals and then when he did get to actually sing, the others faked it which was easy for all but Todd. With as choppy as things felt, Sebastian and Jeff were each given headphones so they could listen once they signed non-disclosure agreements. The moment Jeff heard the song for the first time in its entirety; his eyes flew open as he stared at Sebastian who chuckled at his reaction. Once he pointed at Blaine and then back at Sebastian, Sebastian had to cover his mouth as it seemed Jeff figured the lyrics out. "How cool is this?" Jeff said as they were taking a mini-break in filming. "He made his first single about you guys."

"Technically, Vincent and Malcolm did as they put the song at the top of their list of the three they wanted to use. Now you know what they all meant by it being catchy."

"That's one way to describe it. I don't quite know how to describe it though, but I'd have to say it's pop with a rock edge to it"

"I'd say that's a rather accurate description." Sebastian said to him. "And they've already chosen his second single which will be one of Blaine's infamous ballads." While he spoke, they saw Sebastian's phone light up on the table between them as he'd placed it there since he had the ringer off. When he laughed softly, Jeff tilted his head. "Hunter is back and wants to get filled in on all the craziness."

"He must've spoken with Thad."

"You think?" Sebastian replied. "One has to know Hunter would've loved to have seen Hummel's reaction that day since we all felt that way. Heck, even Wes wishes he was there as he has things he wants to say now that it's a bit more in the open."

"Considering how Wes feels about the whole thing, that would be something I'd want to witness as it would so be popcorn worthy."

While they were talking and watching everything that was going on, Thad and Rachel were out taking a walk as Blaine had mentioned where they were shooting that day. With it being such a beautiful day, it was the perfect day to be out and about. Once the High Line was visible, they could hear music coming from above which brought their eyes to each other. "It won't be long till we get to hear it." Thad said as he gave her hand a squeeze. "I'm really glad the weather worked out for them since Blaine wasn't looking forward to shooting inside."

"Me too." Rachel replied as she kept glancing back up at the High Line. "I've got to admit, I'm jealous that Brittany gets to be a part of it."

"There is nothing wrong with admitting that, as most of us wish we could as well. Did you girls all have fun last night?"

"We did." Rachel said with a big smile. "It had been too long since we were all together, even Quinn came to town."

"I've got to tell you, we all admitted it was a bit weird not having any of you at Blaine's show last night."

"It felt weird not being there. But since Brittany had such an early call time we knew if we were at the show, we wouldn't have been able to catch up. I still don't know how Blaine's performing tonight after doing this all day."

"According to Sebastian, the first chance they all get, they're going to take a…" Thad stopped speaking as well as walking causing Rachel to tilt her head as it was so sudden. "You've got to be kidding me!"

"What's wrong?" Rachel asked and Thad immediately pointed across the street to where a group of individuals were standing by the closed elevator. "There's nothing to worry about Thad."

"How so?" He replied while continuing to look at Kurt and his friends. "You know if he sees Blaine, he's not going to be able to keep his mouth shut."

"True, but do you really think they have Blaine out in public like this without Scott and the entire security team present?" Thad shook his head as he knew Rachel had a point, especially since Sebastian had mentioned the night before Scott was even at school with Blaine. "Not to mention, Vincent is there as well so I doubt they'd let Kurt anywhere near him or Sebastian for that matter."

"It wasn't too long ago; I was the voice of reason on this matter." Thad told her after giving her a kiss and they began walking again as they knew they had a bit further to go since the closet elevator was closed because of filming.

"You still are for the most part. I just know that with as important as this is, they're going to make certain nothing disrupts the process." They were about to turn the corner and head down the line a bit when they heard Kurt calling out for Rachel. "One would think after what happened he would've realized I don't want to talk with him."

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Kurt said as he approached them. "What brings you to this part of the city?"

"It's a gorgeous day so Thad and I thought we'd take in the sights from the High Line, not that it's any of your business." Rachel bluntly replied as Thad released her hand and slid his arm around her waist.

"You'll have to find another elevator as this one is closed as something is going on above us."

"It's a video shoot." Thad quickly replied. "See." He continued as he pointed to the sign outside the elevator. "From what I can hear, it sounds pretty amazing."

"If that's your type of music." Kurt stated forcing the two of them to stifle any reaction since they knew Blaine was up there. "You probably won't even be able to get near them to see who it is."

"According to the sign, they didn't shut that section down. It says there might be moments where foot traffic is stopped and they apologize in advance for any inconvenience."

"That doesn't mean you'll get close." Kurt then looked at Thad. "Have something to say Harwood?"

"I've got plenty to say, but I'm not going to waste my breath on you." He then leaned down and kissed Rachel on the cheek. "Come on Rach, let's get going." Once Rachel nodded, Kurt looked at them.

"Never took you as the type to let a guy tell you what to do Rachel."

"He's not telling me what to do. He just said we should get going, and he's right, we should."

"So this is how it's going to be now because of Blaine?"

"This is not because of Blaine, it's because of you and how you treat people."

"That's rich considering who you are dating Rachel."

"Then it's a good thing you're not the one dating him." Rachel replied bringing a smirk to Thad's face as he loved it when she got feisty. So her comment combined with Kurt's reaction in that moment was priceless. "Let's go Thad as I want to get in a bit of a walk before we meet Quinn and Stephen for lunch." Before Thad had a chance to react, Rachel walked off; grabbing his hand in the process once his arm was no longer around her waist.

While watching them walk away, Kurt's friends came walking up to him. "Wasn't that your friend Rachel?" Josh asked as Kurt was still watching till they disappeared into the crowd of people. "Kurt?"

"Yes, that was Rachel."

"Who was that with her as he looked familiar?" Another asked as they moved out of the way of foot traffic.

"That would be her boyfriend, Thad Harwood." Kurt replied. "The reason you probably recognize him is he's one of Blaine's friends." He told them. "It really makes no sense to me considering he's a pompous jerk. She used to be repulsed by people like that, yet now she's surrounded herself with them."

"Don't take this the wrong way Kurt, but maybe those guys seem that way because you don't get along." Josh told him with earned him quite the glare. "Or, maybe not."

"Those guys were arrogant the first moment I laid eyes on them, you could see it in the way they carried themselves. Arrogant, little rich boys thinking they're better than everyone else because of it."

"Yet you married one of those rich boys."

"And you see how well that worked out since he felt the world revolved around him." In that moment Josh had to refrain from rolling his eyes as unlike most of the others present, he actually knew Blaine and didn't agree with that assessment of him. "He's gotten even more arrogant since he started dating Smythe."

"Kurt, there is a difference between arrogance and confidence." One of the others said before Josh had a chance as he was thinking the same thing. "Anytime we've been around Blaine, he only comes off as confident which isn't surprising considering how his music career is going. But, I will agree with you that his boyfriend seems rather arrogant."

"Fine as I can see how Blaine's attitude might come off as different to me."

"That's because he acts differently towards you." Josh told him. "It's clear anytime he sees you; he wants to go in the opposite direction. Yet most often he can't so the two of you have to face one another. Personally, I'd be a jerk to if I had to keep coming face to face with an ex I dislike."

"For your information, I didn't go and see him last night as I was on a date."

"Good!" Josh replied without thinking of how it might come out.

"Really?"

"Kurt, I meant that it's good that you were on a date and not going to see Blaine. You deserve to be happy and that won't happen if you keep going to Blaine's shows since they often have lots of people present that don't like you."

"Josh has a point." Another stated. "Are you going to see him again?"

"I am actually, as this is the same person I went out with a couple of weeks ago. Things are going really well."

"Good, now don't sabotage it because you can't let go of your ex having success." Josh told him honestly as he knew he was one of the few people Kurt would actually listen to. While Kurt looked at him, he knew deep down Josh was right and he often needed to be told things no matter how harsh they might sound.
