AN: I don't own LWD
#39 Former Flame
"Der can you go to aisle 5 and get some soap, shampoo, and conditioner? I'm going to go get some towels." Casey, newly Venturi, asked her husband as she looked at her list of things they needed for their new house. "Sure babe." Derek said as the two headed off in different directions.
Casey headed down to look at towels and accents, she had a specific vision for the theme of their house and was sure that the vision would become reality. As she found what she was looking for, she ran excitedly over to the aisle she sent Derek to. But as she reached the aisle she heard his voice talking to someone who sounded like a female's. Casey slowed her pace, and hid around the corner and peaked down the aisle.
When she looked down, she saw Derek talking to a woman, and after a minute of staring, Casey soon realized that the woman was, in fact Sally, Derek's ex-girlfriend. She was still as beautiful as Casey remembered, and Casey couldn't help but noticed how animated their talk was. She felt a sudden uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach and she didn't like it all. As Casey was spying on the two intently, she was leaning against a display when suddenly the display came crashing apart, leaving a mortified Casey exposed.
"There's my klutz!" Derek exclaimed with a chuckle, as Sally and him turned around. Casey's face turned bright red and she bent down to help the coworker who had suddenly appeared clean up the mess.
After the display was all cleaned up, and Casey finished her rambling apology. Casey picked herself up and walked over to Derek and Sally. "Nice to see you Casey! It's been so long!" Sally exclaimed, pulling Casey into a tight hug. "Wow Case, you really know how to treat a store." Derek interrupted with a smirk. Casey glared at him, and Sally laughed. "Well I should probably going. It was nice to see you two. And congrats on your recent marriage!" Sally said with a wave before she head off, leaving the two.
Casey then just briskly turned on her heel and walked away, with Derek densely just following behind. After the two paid for their things, Casey took the bags and walked to the car without saying a word. She slammed the car trunk shut, and sat in the passenger side with her arms crossed. Derek leaned his hand over to hold hers, but she quickly snatched it away. "What's with you?" Derek asked looking at her. "Oh nothing at all, everything is just great!" She exclaimed sarcastically, and with that Derek harshly swerved to the side of the road and stopped the car.
"Case, let's not do this. What's wrong?" He asked, turning to her. "Hmm, let me think. Well first I see you talking so closely with your ex-GIRLFRIEND, who also happens to be beautiful. Then if that isn't bad enough, instead of helping me, you embarrassed me in front of her! Now what's wrong?" Casey yelled angrily. With that, Derek started smiling, and Casey fumed. "I'm glad I could provide you with some great entertainment! I'm walking home." Casey said, opening her car door. Derek quickly leaned over, shut her door, and grabbed her arm. "No it's not entertaining, it's flattering, sweet even." He said gently. "What is?" She turned to him curiously. "That you were jealous. It shows you love me and were scared to lose me, though it could never happen." He said simply. "It could happen." She said quietly, "Sally is so beautiful and perfect, why wouldn't you want to be with her." she looked down insecurely. Derek put his two fingers under Casey's chin and lifted it up to look at him. "No it couldn't. Yes Sally is pretty, but you are beautiful. There is nothing more perfect than you, and I could never be with anyone else because no one could compare to even a fraction of you. You'll never lose me, I love you." And with that Derek leaned in and tenderly placed a kiss to Casey's forehead, washing away all of her insecurities.
I may make a reverse role of this, hope you enjoy!
