Five Years Later

Part 82

By the time Blaine got home from rehearsal that day, he was surprised to find Sebastian lying on the couch with his headphones on and his eyes shut. While it was tempting to lie down beside him, Blaine didn't want to startle him since he was most likely awake. So he carefully knelt down beside him before placing his hand on his arm. That was all that was necessary for Sebastian to open his eyes, turn his head and smile. After removing his headphones, Sebastian reached for the remote and paused what he was listening to. "I was wondering when you were going to get home." Blaine then leaned over and gave him a kiss. "For a kiss like that, a bit of a wait was worth it."

"Well, tomorrow when we have more time I'll make it up to you in ways I know you'll enjoy." While he spoke, Blaine moved to sit beside him. "Care to tell me why you were wearing your headphones?"

"I was listening to your album." Sebastian replied while taking ahold of Blaine's hand. "Didn't want to risk listening to it too loudly. By the way, I'm now looking forward to tomorrow more than I already was."

"Good." Blaine then kissed him once again. "Also, thank you for listening to it that way. It won't be much longer till you can at least listen to one track without them."

"Too true. How'd your day go?"

"We got some work done on new material, plus I had a nice lunch with my parents. You?"

"Long, so I'm ready for the weekend and quality time with you. How does that sound?"

"Perfect." Blaine then moved so he was lying down beside him as Sebastian scooted over. "It's as you said when we went away; we need to enjoy our quiet time while we can. There are times I wish that things weren't happening so quickly Bas."

"I know B, I feel the same way." Sebastian told him before wrapping his arm around him. "Yet we have to embrace it or it's going to get the better of us." When Blaine glanced back at him, Sebastian smiled. "I might've spoken with Hunter about it. Certain things are out of our control, while others aren't. Those that aren't, are what we need to concern ourselves with, not the others."

"Essentially, me being gone is the main thing out of our control."

"Precisely, and I plan on coming to see you as often as I can."

"Are you still planning on joining us in Maryland for the Fourth since we're there for a few days?"

"Jeff and I already have our rental booked. So, at least for a few days you'll get to sleep in a real bed versus your tour bus."

"I have a feeling by that time; I'm really going to appreciate that." While Blaine spoke, he relaxed more against Sebastian. "Speaking of the tour bus, on Sunday Vincent would like to take me to see what we'll be basically living in for the summer, and he mentioned you're more than welcome to join me."

"What about brunch with your parents?"

"I mention that to him, and he's fine with going later."

"That sounds good as I'd like to see where you'll be staying before we pack you up." Sebastian then leaned forward a bit and kissed the top of Blaine's head. "Is he sending a car or are we driving ourselves?"

"He said that is up to us, but the sooner he knows the better. I figured we could tell him tonight once we make a decision. Do you have any studying to do?"

"Surprisingly, no. I finished my last paper when I got home today, hence my need to lie back and relax." Sebastian told him. "Clearly, I'll have a bit of reading to do on Sunday, but nothing crazy. So, we essentially have a quiet weekend to ourselves Killer, except for your performances."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously." Once Sebastian spoke, Blaine carefully rolled over so the two were facing one another. "What is it B?"

"I can't remember the last time we had essentially a quiet weekend besides the weekend we went away."

"Me either, the advantages of the school year ending or in your case, school finishing." Sebastian then tightened his arm around Blaine while looking at him. "So, do you want to nap right now or do you have something else in mind?"

"Cuddle for a bit." Blaine told him. "Then food, and from there…we play it by ear, though you know a nap is going to happen at some point."

"Works for me B, works for me."

With Blaine and Sebastian enjoying some quiet time, the Andersons decided to head out to dinner knowing they'd need to take a nap themselves if they wanted to make it through Blaine's show that night. During their walk to dinner that evening, they were surprised to see Thad and Rachel walking towards them. "Must say we weren't expecting to see anyone we knew." Patrick said once the four of them stepped out of the flow of foot traffic after exchanging basic greetings. "What has the two of you out and about in this part of the city?"

"I just picked Rachel up from rehearsal." Thad replied. "We're going to get some dinner before she takes a nap and I get back to studying."

"How are rehearsals going Rachel?" Kate asked as Rachel leaned against Thad.

"They're going very well actually which is a good thing considering it's not too much longer till I debut."

"Are you excited?"

"Excited…and nervous." Rachel told them. "Today I sat through make-up for the first time and well, it truly hit me in a new way."

"That's to be expected." Patrick said to her. "It took everything to a new level of realness. Blaine talked of the same sort of feeling when he got into the studio and started recording. While he'd been doing his thing for a while, it now felt different. Is it different joining a show versus being in it from the start?"

"Very different. It's easier, yet harder. It's easier because I've got an amazing cast around me, but it's harder because of how quickly it all needs to come together." The Andersons smiled as that response made complete sense to them. "Are you coming to Blaine's show this evening?"

"We are." Kate replied. "From what we've been told he's added in some news songs, plus he's changed up some others."

"That he has." Thad told them. "He keeps us on our toes, which is fun. I'm pretty sure the only one that ever has a bit of an idea is Sebastian, yet Blaine manages to even surprise him once in a while. Much as he did at his showcase last night."

"We noticed that from the smile on Sebastian's face, particularly with his final number." Patrick said. Now, I know this probably isn't something either of you want to talk about, but are you okay after what happened when Mr. Hummel came to town?"

"Yes." Rachel replied while Thad nodded. "He told me he didn't know what was going on between them when he came by my place Sunday to apologize for how he behaved. Yet I doubt he fully believes everything Blaine told him. I know Kurt, at least for the most part, and there is no doubt in my mind that he spun the situation."

"That's to be expected Rach, as he'd never admit to his Dad what he did." Thad said. "In his mind, it's his word against Blaine's."

"Thad's got a point." Patrick told them. "I just wanted to make sure you're alright as Blaine said the situation got a bit awkward, as did Sebastian."

"We're alright Mr. Anderson. They can say all they want, it won't change the truth. And while it's tempting to get into it, especially with Kurt, we all know it would only keep the situation going. The sooner we can all come to grasp with it, the sooner it can be put to rest."

"I'm impressed, goes to show you boys and girls, have certainly grown up."

"I'm not saying it's easy, but we know it's the case, no matter how badly we all want to scream and yell."

"We know the feeling well." Kate told them. "Well, we're going to get going to dinner as we need to get back to take a nap before Blaine's show as we're not as young as we used to be."

"We'll be doing the same thing Mrs. Anderson." Rachel told her with a smile. "We'll see you this evening."

"We'll see you then."

Once each couple went in separate directions, Thad gave Rachel's hand a squeeze causing her to look up at him. "What?" Rachel asked as she noticed a certain look in his eyes. Yet the moment he began to smile, she understood a bit better. "I know. I actually had a conversation with them, without freaking out."

"They aren't who you imagined, are they?"

"Not in the slightest." Rachel told him. "Further proof, that I never should have allowed others opinions to have that much influence on me."

"Exactly. Also goes to show that Blaine's parents weren't Hummel's biggest fans."

"That is something that's become crystal clear to me. Now, are you sure you're ready to meet my Dads as they can be quite the handful?"

"Positive, can the same be said for you knowing my parents are going to come into town the following week?" Rachel nodded as she looked up at him. "Then it sounds as though we're all good to go."

By the time they all started to arrive at the venue for that evening, it was clear that those that were finishing up the school year needed a night out. With Nick and Wes in town as well, they brought their girlfriends, plus Santana and Jordan were actually out on a Friday night as Santana had changed shifts. "Just so you all remember Blaine's parents are in town." Jeff said as he looked at everyone. "So, that means, keep certain comments to yourself."

"But it's so fun to tease Sebastian about those that are clamoring for his boy." Santana said with a smile causing Jeff to shake his head. "Come now Jeff, you know it's fun as well."

"True, but I also know the closer it gets to them leaving, it's the last thing he needs."

"The same could be said about you." Hunter chimed in as he looked at him. "Them leaving isn't going to be easy on either one of you, more so than the rest of us." Once Hunter spoke, most everyone's expression changed as the realization truly began to hit them. In a matter of a few weeks, Blaine along with his band were leaving town for most of the summer.

"I know, so it's a good thing he and I each have things to keep us occupied for the most part this summer. Plus, we're going to see them as much as our schedules allow. It's one of the benefits of them not traveling too far…as of yet."

"Nice addendum." Wes told him. "Because I know Blaine said that while their schedule is relatively set, changes still could happen." Jeff smiled since he was well aware of that fact. "Do you know if we're going to need to get tickets for the release party?"

"They will be mailed to each of you." All of their eyes went up at the sound of Sebastian's voice. "It's one of the reasons why B asked for all of your addresses." He continued as he sat down beside Jeff. "While most will have access to B that night, those tickets will guarantee you prime access. It's not as though B's security team doesn't know most of you, but there will probably be more on hand that night." Sebastian then looked over at Jordan. "And you my dear will have a different sort of access."

"That I will." Jordan replied. "By the way, I'm sorry you guys couldn't film Blaine's segment before you left for vacation."

"That's alright." Sebastian told her. "It's one of the reasons we're leaving the day after he graduates so we don't lose a day. Vincent even apologized for the change in plans but we actually expected something to happen once the release date was set."

"What did you mean when you said Jordan will have different access?" Nick asked as he looked over at Sebastian.

"She's actually covering the release, so it can be part of her segment on Tuesday." Sebastian replied. "Not to mention, with how she's handled things so far, Vincent felt it was only right. With B being a new artist, they're controlling coverage. Though, Tuesday is going to be crazy as B's on the go practically all day."

"Yet you'll be with him." Santana pointed out.

"Yes, I'll be with him."

"Where are Blaine's parents?" Jeff asked as he noticed the sound tech on stage meaning they were about to go on.

"They're going to be watching from the wings as this crowd is a bit different from last." Once Sebastian said that, the others couldn't really argue as the crowd was certain loud that night. Not to mention, with some of the things they'd heard, it was probably best Blaine's parents weren't around to hear it.

The night ended up being like most others when Blaine performed, as the crowd was into the show from the very start. Though there were certainly a few times when the others were glad they were surrounding Sebastian and Jeff from their reactions. While they knew comments were going to be made, they couldn't believe how blunt some people could be. The fact that they would have certain conversations in public and not private was surprising.

By the time the show was over, everyone was quite eager to see Blaine and the others as they'd played quite a few new covers that evening that had their own special twist. When Sebastian and Jeff were about halfway to the stage door, they stopped when a man walked up to them. "Something we can do for you?" Jeff asked.

"Where do the two of you think you're going?" When the man spoke, Sebastian glanced at Jeff as the man was clearly inebriated.

"We're on our way backstage to see the band." Sebastian replied. "So if you wouldn't mind moving out of the way, we'd appreciate it."

"What gives you the right to go back there?"

"We're friends with them." Sebastian then pointed to the lanyard around his neck. "See. Now excuse us as they'll be waiting for us."

"I bet you two are with those two fine ladies…aren't you? What I wouldn't…"

"You should stop right there." Sebastian stated as he knew Jeff was already in a mood considering some of the things he'd heard that night. And while Sebastian wasn't thrilled with what he heard either, it was somewhat easier hearing girls fawn over his boy than what some of the guys in the crowd wanted to do with Talia and Morgan.

"Come now, nothing wrong with…"

"Yes, there is something very wrong with objectifying them in that manner." The fact that Sebastian's voice and tone had changed with each response wasn't shocking. "Now get out of our way!" They went to push passed, but were quickly made aware that the man wasn't alone. "You're kidding me, right?"

"He wasn't done talking to you." Another man told them.

"Well, we're done talking with him." Jeff replied.

"Afraid if you don't get back to your girls they're going to find someone else?" Sebastian and Jeff both rolled their eyes as none of these guys had a chance with either of the girls. "That was uncalled for."

"Actually, it was the politest response considering the girls wouldn't give any of you the time of day."

"We'll see about that." There was something about the look on the man's face that pissed Jeff off, causing him to push him. "Did I touch a nerve blondie? Afraid you're not man enough to keep your girl satisfied."

"Trust me, she's more than satisfied." Jeff replied. "Now get the hell out of our way!"

The man was about to respond when a couple members of Blaine's security team came walking over. "May we be of help guys?"

"Who the hell are you?" The man asked as Sebastian and Jeff smirked.

"Part of the band's security detail. You see, they were wondering where these two were, so we came to see what was keeping them."

"Told you." Sebastian replied. "These gentlemen, and I use that term loosely, believe that it's wrong that we get to go backstage."

"Well, that's not up to them is it, it's up to Blaine. Now, shall we?" Sebastian and Jeff smiled before following one guard while the other followed behind. They weren't even a few feet away when the comments started to fly causing the members of the security team to exchange glances. "I guess we'll be keeping a closer eye than usual on the girls when we leave tonight."

"That's probably a good idea." Sebastian told them. "The crowd tonight seems to have their hormones in overdrive. It's not only about the girls either as some of the ladies in the audience would love a chance with any of the guys as well." While Sebastian replied, they'd made their way through the stage door which promptly closed behind them.

"It really was a good thing Blaine's parents watched from the wings." Jeff told him as they headed towards the dressing room. "I don't think they'd be comfortable hearing some of the things we heard. Hell, I wasn't comfortable with it."

"You weren't the only one. I think every one of us was uncomfortable on some level." Sebastian added. "I don't think I'm ever going to get used to hearing people talk about Blaine in that manner."

"Only you can objectify him?"

"Exactly." Sebastian responded with a laugh earning a laugh from Jeff. "Just as only you can say things about Morgan." By the time the two reached the dressing room, they saw the Andersons standing outside the door. "How'd you enjoy the show?"

"We loved it." Patrick replied. "And you two?"

"The same." Sebastian told him as he was still smiling. "I take it they are changing." Each of Blaine's parents nodded. "Will you be joining us tonight?"

"No, we're going to head back to the hotel as last time it took us a bit longer to recover than we're used to." Kate said in response. "Plus this way you guys won't have to watch what you say as we noticed there is quite the group present."

"You'll need to at least come by and say hi." Jeff told them.

"Jeff's got a point. Come, have a drink, and then head back to your hotel." Sebastian added. "I'm sure B would agree with me." Kate then looked at Patrick who was clearly contemplating the boys' words.

"Alright, we'll go." Patrick told them. "Yet I don't get why you guys would even want us around."

"Maybe it's because we know you don't get to see Blaine all that often so we're not going to monopolize his time." Jeff replied. "Not to mention, you guys are fun to be around." While the words were leaving Jeff's mouth, Todd opened the door wide before turning back without saying a word as he clearly looked exhausted. After entering the room, it didn't surprise Sebastian that Jeff immediately kissed Morgan considering the earlier conversation.

"Is everything alright?" Blaine asked softly after kissing Sebastian after noticing the other two were still kissing. "Jeff seems to be kissing her with quite the purpose."

"Let's just say hearing what some guys would like to do to her, got to him." Sebastian told him before leaning down for another kiss. "I don't blame him personally." The way his expression changed when he spoke, Blaine took ahold of his hand and gave it a squeeze. "Probably sounds odd coming from me, huh?"

"Not really, especially since you said you're quite protective of what is yours." When Sebastian raised an eyebrow, Blaine smiled up at him. "Your expression and voice gave it away Bas. You do know you have nothing to worry about, right?" Sebastian nodded with a smile.

"Yet that doesn't stop it from bothering me. Some people are downright vulgar, and you know I'm far from being prude." Sebastian then ran his fingers through Blaine's curls. "You know, it's guys and girls talking about you, right?"

"It's been brought to my attention by a few people." While he spoke, Blaine rested his head on Sebastian's chest. "That doesn't change what I said."

"I know." The words were leaving Sebastian's mouth when Blaine wrapped his arms tightly around him. "Your mine as I'm yours."

While the two spoke, the moment didn't go unnoticed by Blaine's parents who made certain to give the two space. Seeing them like this, reinforced everything they saw the first time they came to town and saw the two together. The connection the two had was strong and from the expressions they were seeing, they weren't afraid to talk about what they were feeling in the moment. Considering the last time they'd been at one of Blaine's shows, they could only imagine what the two had been talking about. But something told them both, it was probably best if they didn't ask.

It didn't take Blaine and his band long to pack up, so they were soon headed on their way. The Andersons asked if they needed to reach their friends, but Blaine told them a place had been decided upon earlier. During their way out, Sebastian filled Talia in on what happened to him and Jeff as Morgan had quite the reaction after Jeff had told her. "It's going to get to the point where you and Jeff aren't going to want to sit with the masses." Patrick told him as they made their way to the awaiting car.

"It's certainly getting there." Sebastian replied before glancing at Blaine with a smile. "How was the view from the wings?"

"Better than we expected." Kate told him. "Part of that was due to the fact that they didn't set up all the way up front."

"That's because Justin is paranoid of getting grabbed again." Blaine chimed in with causing Justin to look over. "It's true."

"Not denying it, but you and Morgan share my sentiments." Justin replied. "I now have a full appreciate of the security gates set-up in front of the stage at most concerts. Doesn't matter the venue, people are crazy! Love the enthusiasm, but keep your damn hands to yourself." When the others agreed it wasn't too surprising.

The moment the band stopped to start signing autographs; Sebastian escorted Blaine's parents to their car knowing it would take some time. Not to mention, this was a time where some of the comments from inside returned and the Andersons didn't need to hear it. Once they were settled, Sebastian leaned his head back in his seat while still looking out the open door. "Are you alright Sebastian?" Kate asked as she looked over at him.

"Yes, it's been a long week, that's all. I'm looking forward to actually getting to sleep in to…" He pauses long enough to check his watch before continuing. "…later today." The soft laugh that escapes him brings a smile to Patrick and Kate's faces. "What are the two of you doing later today?"

"We're actually taking in a show this afternoon since Blaine wasn't sure if he was going to have rehearsal." Patrick told him. "He'd told us things have been a bit chaotic at times for him as of late."

"That's a good way to describe his schedule. With him finishing up the school year along with everything else he's been pulled in plenty of directions. Not to mention, he moved during everything."

"Yet that was something he wanted to do during that time." Kate reminded him.

"I know, and it's something I wanted as well. We just could've chosen a better time to do it."

"Neither of you realized how crazy his schedule was going to get Sebastian." Patrick told him. "Plus, it gave him something else to focus on which he needed."

"He said the same thing. It also helped that the guys helped quite a bit as it broke up the monotony of studying." Sebastian had just finished when Blaine slid in beside him, leaning over to give him a kiss as the door closed behind him. "Someone is happy."

"I'm slowly adjusting to the craziness." Blaine told him as he took ahold of his hand. "Our mini-tour helped in that aspect. Should I be worried about what the three of you were talking about without me?"

"Not really." Kate told him with a smile as they pulled away. "Sebastian was telling us how crazy things have been and how he's looking forward to sleeping in." While she spoke, Sebastian glanced at Blaine and smiled. "You look like you could use the sleep as well, adrenaline only last so long."

"That is something I'm well aware of Mom."

"She's only looking out for you Blaine." Patrick told him.

"I know." Blaine said softly, as he knew his Dad was right. "That's why tonight won't last too long." His parents smiled as spoke, while watching him lean his head against Sebastian who leaned on him in return.

By the time they returned to the apartment after going out with everyone, Sebastian led Blaine straight to the bedroom. Once through the doorway, Blaine looked up at him and was about to move up on his toes to give him a kiss, when Sebastian pushed him back onto the bed. Since it was a bit unexpected, Blaine watched as Sebastian began to unbutton his shirt before him. This was a sight Blaine would never tire of as he thought Sebastian's body was perfect. After watching him toss his shirt aside onto a chair, Sebastian stepped into the space between Blaine's legs and leaned over him, bracing his arms on either side him. "I hope you realize you're not going to sleep anytime soon Killer." Sebastian told him with a smirk. "Especially after you were such a tease." When Blaine looked up at him so innocently, before batting his eyes, Sebastian shook his head. "Yes, you."

"I…I don't know what you could possibly be referring to." The tone of Blaine's voice when he spoke caused Sebastian to bite his lower lip. "I'm innocent, not to mention, my parents were out with us."

"So, you caressing my thigh, and then your hand making its way to my crotch and palming me was all my imagination?"

"It's quite a vivid imagination you have there Bas."

"If that's the case, why don't we find out how vivid your imagination can be B?" After Sebastian spoke, he noticed a twinkle in Blaine's eyes that hadn't been there moments prior. That was all he needed to see before pushing back so he could begin to unbutton Blaine's shirt. Having Blaine trust him so completely, it was a good thing they had nowhere to be that day, because who knew when they'd finally be going to sleep.

With as hectic as Blaine's week had been, even their friends knew to give him and Sebastian the day to themselves on Saturday. When they met up in Central Park later that afternoon, it felt a bit odd not having the duo around. It wasn't much of a surprise to Rachel when Hunter asked her if she'd heard from Kurt since the weekend his Dad appeared. The moment she told him she hadn't, Jeff and Thad exchanged looks as they could tell Hunter didn't like what he'd heard. There exchange didn't go unnoticed by Wes and Nick as well. "Someone care to tell us what's going through those male brains of yours?" Santana asked as she looked around, noticing all the girls saw it as well.

"Just with as tense as things were, I wouldn't take him as someone that would go radio silent." Hunter replied. "While we weren't all there to hear what went down, I got a chance to talk with Sebastian and…it wasn't pretty."

"Then you need to add-on the brief conversation we had with him." Thad added. "It was clear from my point of view at least that what Rachel told him made an impact."

"Exactly, so why hasn't Hummel lashed out."

Hearing that bit of information out loud, it was understandable why the guys were acting the way they were as it didn't fit with how things had played out. So for them to be concerned was understandable considering what was approaching. "It could be possible that Sebastian's Dad, along with the Andersons figured out a way to keep him quiet." Wes said aloud when things had gotten eerily quiet considering how many of them were there. "I say that since Blaine mentioned to me they were working on something."

"Sebastian mentioned it to me as well." Hunter told them. "The problem comes is that nothing Hummel has really done is illegal. Though, his actions are certainly getting closer the more he rears his head. According to Sebastian, his Dad as well as some of his friends have look at things from every possible angle."

"Essentially you're saying, if Kurt doesn't do anything to truly hurt Blaine, they can't keep him from him." Santana stated, earning a nod from Hunter. "That's bullshit!"

"Trust me, I know. But, Sebastian did mention there was one possible way to make something work. Yet, his Dad wouldn't discuss it with him…only Blaine."

"Do you or Sebastian have any theories about what it could be?" Nick asked before glancing over at Wes to see if he had any ideas.

"We've talked, but came up empty. Whatever Xavier has up his sleeve, is between him and Blaine."
