#46 Come Around

"So that's when I said 'Hey pal, why don't you just go back to your trailer!'" the blonde boy, whose name Casey couldn't remember and didn't care to remember, exclaims obnoxiously. Casey nodded absent-mindedly, trying her best to pretend she was listening to the pompous jerk that she was on a date with for the night. "Fascinating." Casey said sarcastically, playing with her food boredly. The boy didn't seem to notice her tone or her unhappiness and started telling yet another story about himself, one Casey could guess amplified again how much of a snob he was.

After what seemed like centuries, the boy finally paid the bill for their meal, and though she was a firm feminist she gladly let him pay for the horrible night she endured. He drove her back to the apartment and went to a firm stop, not even making an effort to walk her out, though he did try to go in for a slimy, disgusting kiss. Casey quickly swerved her head and got out of the car. "We should do this again! I have more stories to tell you!" The boy called from his car, and Casey replied, "Yea I'm not sure about that, I might be moving to Mexico." and she quickly walked into her apartment building.

Sighing after yet another failed date, she trudged up the stairs to the fourth floor where the apartment she and Derek shared was located. Slowly she unlocked the door and let herself in. She threw off her shoes tiredly and shrugged off her jacket. "Rough date?" Derek asked from his seat on the couch. "Ughh" she grunted at him, plopping down on the couch next to a smirking Derek.

"Why don't you just stop being so stubborn and come to your senses already Case?" Derek asked smugly. "What do you mean Derek?" She asked innocently. "You know what I mean Casey. When are you going to realize that you and I are meant to be. We are endgame Case, and we both know it." He said seriously, standing up, and starting to head to his bedroom. Before he disappeared from sight he turned around with one last bargain, "I love you Casey and I know that you love me too. I know you're stubborn, but I'm stubborn too, I won't give up on us, I'm here whenever you're read to come around." He turned around, and suddenly, Casey knew she was finally ready.
