A/N: Hey guys! Sorry I left you on a cliff hanger, I know, im such an evil person! Here's this chapter, enjoy!
Maria awoke in the infirmary, her head pounding and feeling sick to her stomach.
"How do you feel?" Steve asked, holding her hand tightly in his own.
"I feel dizzy and sick...how long have I been out?"
"All afternoon. It's most likely from the drug that Marco gave you..we think it was a type of drug, anyway." Simmons said, a look of worry in her eyes as she added, "You have a mild concussion and the cuts on your neck started to get infected, but nothing severe."
Maria nodded, "Where are Skye and Emily?" She asked, sitting up much too quickly as her head screamed in protest.
Everyone exchanged worried looks.
"Skye is fine. She's with Lili and Agents Ward and Romanoff." Agent Coulson said, looking to the door as Natasha came in holding a sleeping Lili with Skye and Grant following behind.
"How's Clint?" Steve asked, looking at the assassin.
"He'll live, he just won't be in the field for awhile."
Maria sighed, getting annoyed that no one gave any information about where her sister was.
"Coulson, where's Emily?"
Coulson sighed, about to speak when Steve started to speak for him.
"Emily is...well..." Steve started, trailing off as he tried to think of what to tell her without making her panicked or angry in any way.
"Just tell me! Where's my sister!?"
It was Agent May that spoke.
"Marco took her and we aren't sure what he wants with her now, a few agents tried to stop him, but he was too_" May started, only for Skye to cut her off.
"Strong. He's stronger than I remember him being. Maria, with the way he held you by the throat, he almost crushed your windpipe." Skye explained, clearing her throat as she continued, "I know why Marco took Emily. He took her in order to get to me, figuring that if he has Emily, then he could use her in hopes that we'll make a trade."
Maria groaned and sat back in the bed, hands on her face.
"I'm going to be sick." She said, allowing for Fitz to reach behind Steve and get the trashcan beside the bed as the agent leaned over the side and threw up in the bin.
"It's the drug. Your body is just trying to expel whatever is in your system. Don't worry, we'll find Emily." Fitz said, putting the bin back down as Maria finished throwing up and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Well i'm going with you."
Everyone gawked at her.
"The hell you are! Not with how sick you just got." Steve said, giving a stern look.
"Oh please, you're treating me like i'm terminally ill! I'm sure i'll be fine by the time Coulson and his team leave. I'm probably the best chance they've got at finding her aside from Skye, and Emily will think that I don't care enough to find her if I don't go with them. I know my sister, and she jumps to conclusions pretty fast." She explained, sitting back up in the bed.
"She's right. Plus, Emily's strong just like Maria and she won't give them any answers about any of us or SHIELD...she won't break easily." Natasha said, sighing as she added, "I'd offer to go in her place, but I don't feel comfortable with leaving Clint."
"And could it also be the fact that you're pregnant?" Stark asked, finally speaking for the first time since Maria woke up.
Natasha glared at him, "That too...I honestly don't see what's wrong with Maria leaving with them first thing tomorrow morning."
Everyone looked at Steve, who sighed and put his head in his hands, knowing he wasn't going to win this fight.
"Alright, fine."
Tony clapped and rubbed his hands together, "Then it's settled, she'll leave with Agent and his team of misfits tomorrow morning and i'm going to head out and go get some shwarma." He said, grabbing his car keys and leaving the room.
"What's with him and shwarma?" Skye asked, coming to stand on the opposite side of Maria, who sighed.
"To be honest, I can't even think of food right now without getting sick and knowing my sister could be hurt."
The next morning, everyone stood outside of the bus to say goodbye.
"I'm going to be fine, Steve." She assured her husband, getting annoyed at the fact that it wasn't even eight in the morning and he was already worried about her.
"How do you feel though, Agent Hill? Sure you're okay enough to come with us?" Grant asked, walking up to them, holding Skye's hand tightly in his.
"Still a little nauseous and dizzy, but it's not as bad as yesterday. As i've said a thousand times before, I will be fine!" She snapped, looking between Grant and Steve, already starting to lose her patience; she just wanted to find her sister, kill Marco if they let her, and bring her sister back.
She turned to look at Tony, Natasha, and Clint, who had convinced the doctors at the infirmary when he woke up a couple hours before, to let him come say goodbye on the condition that he had to be in a wheel chair.
"Try and keep him from worrying. Maybe hit him with one of your tranquilizer arrows if necessary." She said, looking at the two of them.
"We'll try. Pepper, Jane, and Betty are sorry they couldn't come and say goodbye." Clint said, nodding.
"They stopped by this morning to say goodbye and that they hoped all went well."
"Good luck, Maria." Bruce said, giving a soft reassuring smile, "I'll be with the other doctors on standby when you find Emily, just incase any medical attention is needed."
"Yes, best of luck, lady Maria. We will wait for your safe return with lady Emily."
Maria nodded and turned back to Steve and gave him a quick hug.
"It's not like it's going to be forever." She said into his ear before pulling away and grabbing her bag, heading to the plane with Grant and Skye as Tony called,
"Yeah, try not to die this time!"
Maria rolled her eyes, "Yeah, as long as you try not to go through any portals with nukes!" She called back over her shoulder, before Coulson walked up to Steve.
"Don't worry, the most we'll be gone is a couple weeks if things go according to plan."
Steve nodded, "Coulson, if something happens to her_"
"You'll be informed immediately. Believe me, I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure she isn't hurt and makes it back safe." He said, giving a nod and a reassuring smile before turning and heading in the direction Maria had gone.
Things will be just fine.
That's what they thought, anyway.
