A/N: Hey guys! Here's the next chapter, and it may seem like in some parts that Maria doesn't care about Emily, but we all have different ways of dealing with things. Some drink away the pain, some eat, some do drugs, etc. but she does care about Emily, she's just not used to showing her feelings and only answered Skye's questions to get her to shut up, and we've all done that at one point. We're in a situation and someone is bothering us so we talk to them and answer their questions to get them to shut up. I know i've done that before. Lol enjoy!
Maria was on the Bus for no more than ten minutes when Skye once again started bombarding her with the same questions she had asked the day before.
"Really? My sister is missing and you want to know about me and Steve? By the way...what the hell are you eating?" Maria asked, gesturing to something in the younger girl's hands that she continued eating with a spoon.
"Nutella. Want some?"
Maria was about to say something else when she shrugged and took the tub of hazelnut spread from Skye and grabbed her own spoon and began eating, shocking Skye, who was about to say something when Coulson walked in.
"Your sister is missing and you're eating Nutella?"
"She's eating away the pain, dad." Skye said, nodding to Maria, who looked increasingly distressed, angrily stabbing the Nutella with the metal spoon before taking a spoon full and eating it, then repeating the process, ignoring the dizziness she was feeling.
Coulson sighed and looked at his daughter before looking at Maria, "Aren't you allergic to nuts?"
Maria looked at him and shrugged, "Bite me. My allergies aren't even that bad! If I eat nut products that I can't directly taste or smell the nuts, such as Nutella, the worst I get is hives...if I eat an excessive amount though, I throw it back up. Made that mistake a couple times. It's only if it's something that I can taste or smell, such as peanut butter or trail mix, then my throat closes up."
"Jeez, did you ever try to attempt with your nut allergy?"
Maria glared at Skye, "I might of, but I can't really remember. If I did my brother probably had an epi-pen on hand."
Coulson rolled his eyes, "Well, either way i'm still not taking that chance. Especially ten minutes into this trip." He said, taking the Nutella from the twenty-seven-year-old and handing it back to Skye as he added, "Besides, we've got your sister to find and you won't be of any use if you're sick." He said, leaving the kitchen.
Skye took this opportunity to take a couple spoonfuls of Nutella and plop them onto the inside of the lid, handing it to Maria. Maria's eyes suddenly went wide in realization and placed the lid on the counter.
"I'm such a fucking dumbass!"
Skye's head snapped up in alarm, "What?"
"I put a tracker in Emily's phone AND in the necklace that she's always wearing around her neck!"
Maria had almost forgotten that for Emily's fifteenth birthday she had gotten her a silver, dolphin pendant, the teens favorite animal, and at the base of the pendant where the two dolphin's tails met was a diamond, and in that diamond was the tracker. Emily hadn't wanted it at first, arguing it was too expensive, it was, but in reality Stark had given Maria his credit card and told her to go buy something nice, and that's what she did; ultimately forcing her sister to accept the gift.
"Do you know if it's activated?" Skye asked, bringing Maria out of her thoughts.
"If I hook my phone up to the computer it will show me if it's activated." She answered, allowing for Skye to get up and disappear into the bunk that she now shared with Grant, returning moments later with her laptop and a cord to hook the Iphone up to the computer.
"So, it may take awhile to get all the data, so you can tell me about you and Steve." Skye said, grabbing the tub of Nutella once more and eating it, causing for Maria to sigh and cross her arms, raising an eye brow at her.
"If I answer all of your pointless questions will you shut up and focus on helping me find my sister?"
Skye nodded enthusiastically, her brown eyes lighting up like a child's on Christmas day.
Maria sighed, "What were they again?" She asked, glancing back to the computer screen.
"When did you get married? Well, you already answered that but feel free to answer again! How'd he ask you? Where did he ask you? Where'd you go on your honeymoon? And are you guys going to have kids?"
Maria sighed for the umpteenth time that morning and ran a hand through her dark brown hair.
I can't believe that i'm answering these questions instead of finding Emily just to amuse a twenty-one-year-old with the mentality of a six-year-old. She thought, taking a deep breath before speaking, "You're so lucky that you're pregnant and that your dad is Coulson because i'd have punched you by now...We got married on January twenty-first at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn bridge, we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, he asked me when we were in Florida after our camping trip with the rest of the Avengers for, as Stark called it, "team bonding", we went to Discovery Cove. We went out to dinner for our one year anniversary and he asked me there." She explained, sighing in exasperation and annoyance, hoping Skye would get the hint and stop asking questions if she knew what was good for her.
"Woah, you guys got to swim with Dolphins and Sting Rays last summer? I thought you didn't know how to swim?"
"Yes. And I did know how, but after witnessing something when I was eight and not going into the water for a long time as a result..and then a mission in which I was tortured by actually being water boarded, my body forgot. Thor and Jane actually taught me by throwing me into the water repeatedly a few days before. Now, do you have any more questions!?" She asked, raising her voice.
"Well, you answered four out of five...are you guys going to have kids!? I know my dad would be overjoyed if you did."
Maria put her head in her hands, her patience wearing thin. All she wanted to do was get the information from her sisters tracking device and find her, but Skye had to make things difficult.
"I know he would, I don't know if we will...not for a few years at least."
Skye smirked, "That's what most married couples say...then by the end of their first year of marriage they end up having a baby."
Maria looked up, alright, two can play at this game. She thought, an idea forming in her head.
"Well, Steve and I aren't like most couples. What about you and Grant? Thought about getting married? Any more kids in the future? Where would you get married? How would you want him to ask you?" Maria said, raising her voice once more and bending down to look at Skye, her face inches from hers.
"Alright! Jeez, that is annoying! I'll try not to dig into your personal life anymore...no promises! But to answer your questions, we did talk about marriage. Don't know if we are, but if we did it'd be after the baby was born."
Maria nodded and got up, suddenly feeling lightheaded once more as she clutched the counter, her knuckles turning white.
Probably just the effects of the drug that's still trying to get out of my system. What the hell did he give me!? She thought, about to voice her thoughts out loud when the computer beeped, signaling that Emily's tracker had been activated.
"Found her."
A/N: Let me know what y'all think! Any predictions, ideas, etc, i'm all ears! The picture of the necklace that Maria talked about is on my profile! Please review :)
