A/N: Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, things have just been very hectic, but I hope to finish this story soon! Yay for another fight scene that I suck at writing! Oh, and in this chapter, there are possible spoilers for the new Captain America movie, but nothing really major! Enjoy! Oh, and to the person who basically told me my characters were selfish morons and that my story was entering retard land: Please don't use that word, and please define a selfish moron? These characters are anything but selfish! If you don't like the story and have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!
Marco punched the cold steel door with his fist before turning and untying the teenager, grabbing her by her elbow and taking her out of the room.
"Where are we going?" She asked, looking around anxiously as the pain in her wrist and back started to become almost unbearable.
"Just shut your mouth before you get us into trouble!"
"Funny, my sister always says that my mouth would get me into trouble one day."
Marco rolled his eyes and turned to her, shoving her into the wall as his nails dug into her.
"Listen, you are getting on my last good nerve. If you don't shut your God damn mouth, I will do much worse than what i've already done! Do I make myself clear?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"How much worse?"
"Worse than the abuse that you and your bitch of a sister went through...oh, I hit a nerve didn't I? Didn't think I knew about that? Well, Ryan told me everything. The physical and emotional abuse you and your siblings went through, the sexual abuse, the rape...everything. Next time, you might want to keep that to yourself and do a background check on any future boyfriends." He explained, smirking when he saw a tear slip down her cheek.
Before Emily could respond, a gunshot rang out, hitting Marco right in his shoulder. Marco screamed in pain, but not before he grabbed Emily and held her in front of him, holding her in a headlock; a gun pointed at her temple.
"Surrender, Marco, or we'll shoot!" Agent May ordered, her gaze burning into Marco's. To her left stood Ward, a gun also pointed at the other man, but Maria was no where in sight.
"Where's Maria?" Emily choked, hoping her sister was somewhere in the area as she struggled against Marco's grip with her one good hand.
"Not wise to split up, here. Instead of finding this one right here, she's going to run into our best soldier."
Agent Ward and Agent May shared a look of concern.
"You don't think...?" Ward started, trailing off as Coulson spoke through the comm. Link.
"Please tell me he doesn't mean Barnes"
Marco smirked, "Now drop your weapons or i'll shoot."
Meanwhile, Agent Hill walked up the stairs with her gun in hand. She had suggested that they split up and she had gone off alone, knowing that they'd find Emily much quicker, but what she hadn't accounted for was running into Barnes as she entered the main area.
"Agent Hill, if you encounter Barnes, just leave him be. Do not, I repeat, do not engage," Coulson warned through the link, but it was too late.
She had Barnes in her sights.
Barnes was looking over monitors and security cameras, too engrossed in what he was doing to notice her until she spoke.
"Well, long time no see, James. Found your way back to the Arctic, I see." She said, walking further into the room, her boots echoing throughout as she walked along the cold concrete floor.
Barnes slowly turned to look at her, his brown eyes boring into her grey ones, following her every move. He looked at her quizzically, almost as if he recognized her and was trying to pin point the exact location in which he had seen the woman, knowing she was affiliated with his old...friend, in some way or another, his metal hand making a fist at his side as she approached.
"Where's my sister?" She asked, unaware that Ward and May had already found her but were unable to inform her due to the situation they were facing down stairs.
No answer.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" She asked, unaware that she had gone too far until Barnes punched her in her stomach, sending her flying across the floor and into the far wall by the door, sending her gun skidding in the opposite direction.
Getting up on shaky feet, she blocked his next hit with her right hand, grabbing it in hers.
Big mistake.
This man was no match for her and twisted her arm behind her back and throwing her to the side, causing for her to scream out in pain as she heard a sickening pop, indicating that her shoulder had been dislocated. Groaning, she painfully got up, seeing Barnes reach for his gun, she dove head first and grabbed her own, aimed and she fired, the bullet hitting his metal arm instead before she turned and tried to take cover.
A gun shot rang out and a bullet tore into the base of her neck with two more bullets hitting her in the thigh before she collapsed to the floor, gathering enough strength to pitifully drag herself over to the wall.
I'm such a dumb ass.. She thought, trailing off as he slowly approached, picking her up by her neck and throwing her into the monitor, knocking the computer off of the desk. She looked at him as he aimed the gun at her head, fully prepared to shoot before putting it down and punching her in the face instead, leaving a weak Maria alone.
Back downstairs, Marco moved away from the wall as May and Ward complied and dropped their weapons, his grip on Emily never loosening.
"Since you care about this girl so much and she really isn't of any use to me, i'm prepared to make a trade. You can have Emily and I get Skye."
"Hell no!" Grant growled.
"SHIELD doesn't negotiate." May said, her eyes following Marco's every move.
"Well, that's too bad. I guess you'll have to say goodbye to miss bigmouth over here." He said, pulling back the safety on the pistol.
Emily shut her eyes, waiting for the bullet to pierce her skull.
But it didn't.
The man's grip on her loosened and she opened her eyes in time to see him collapse to the ground and turned to see Maria struggling to keep up right, holding a strange looking gun.
"So that's where the night night gun went." Grant said, giving a soft smile that turned into a frown when he saw the state she was in as she fell onto her hands and knees.
Emily rushed to the older woman's side and helped her lie down, resting Maria's head in her lap.
"What happened?" She asked, growing more frightened at the extent of her injuries.
"Don't piss off Barnes." She said, giving a shaky chuckle as Grant shook his head.
"You're a dumb ass sometimes, Hill."
Agent Hill only gave a weak nod before her eyes began to flicker.
"Hill, keep your eyes open. Don't fall asleep." May said, brushing a strand of dark hair out of her face.
Grant sighed and put Maria's dislocated arm around his shoulders and picked her up bridal style.
"Just keep talking. Focus on the sounds of our voices. We'll get you somewhat fixed up in the car." He said, nodding to the other two who approached Marco and grabbed one of his arms, putting them around their own shoulders and dragging him to the direction of the "caves" exit, Grant following behind with a barely conscious Maria.
"How bad is it, Ward?" Coulson asked, concern in his tone.
Grant sighed, "Not good, Coulson. Not good at all."
A/N: I know this chapter seemed a little rushed, but I was going through writers block and wanted to get it up ASAP! So, I hope y'all liked it! Please review :)
