A/N: Hiya! Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, school has been hectic! Here is the next chapter, hope you like it!
Once in the car, May put Marco in the back, using a rope to tie his hands and feet incase he woke up while they were driving back, handing Ward and Emily a first aid kit. Emily grabbed the tweezers and the gauze while Ward held Maria still as May drove as fast as she was capable of driving back to the bus.
Grant put a hand on Emily's that held the tweezers.
"Do you even know how to tend to a shot gun wound?"
Emily nodded, "Yeah. My dad used to be a doctor and we lived in a bad area growing up, so he took care of a lot of gun shot wounds. I've also seen Bruce take care of the others when they're hurt on missions. I know what i'm doing, Maria has saved my ass on multiple occasions, the least I could do is return the favor." She said, ignoring the pain in her hand as she probed at the wound at the base of Maria's neck, finally getting hold of the bullet and coaxing it out.
Taking the gauze, she pressed it to her neck and took Ward's hand, pressing it onto the cloth.
"Keep pressure on the wound." She said, taking more gauze and tying it above the wounds in Maria's thigh instead of directly on the wound.
"What about the bullets in her thigh?" Grant asked, watching curiously as Emily applied pressure to the leg with both her hands.
"I don't know if the bullets punctured her femoral artery. If it's punctured, those bullets could be the only thing that is slowing the blood loss and if I take them out, she could very well bleed to death in a matter of seconds. Better to have FitzSimmons or a real doctor take them out." The teen explained, her voice shaky as she lifted a blood stained hand and held Maria's. The woman's breathing was fast and ragged, and they could tell that she was trying her best to stay conscious.
Ward put a comforting hand on Emily's shoulder.
"She'll be okay."
Emily gave a weak smile before returning her attention to her older sister.
They arrived back to the bus in just ten minutes, Grant carrying a now unconscious Agent Hill.
"What happened!?" Skye asked, rushing to the others , Coulson and FitzSimmons hot on her heels.
"She had an unfortunate run in with Barnes." May said, taking Marco out of the SUV and dragging him to the interrogation room as if he weighed nothing.
"Get Hill to the pod." Coulson ordered, nodding at Grant while Emily looked confused.
"We kinda have a hospital room that we use as an infirmary that we borrowed from a SHIELD trauma center in Switzerland from the time that I got shot." Skye said, seeing Emily's confused expression.
"Then why not just call it the infirmary?" She asked, following the others past the lab and into a small hospital like room where Grant gently placed Maria on the bed.
"We like using cool names for things." Fitz answered, grabbing an oxygen mask and placing it over the Agents nose and mouth in attempt to help her breathe while the others watched Jemma grabbed a pair of scissors and cut off the left pants leg of her jeans to get a better look at the wounds.
"Emily got the bullet in her neck out but not her leg."
"I didn't want to risk having her bleed out." The seventeen-year-old explained, crossing her arms and watching warily as Simmons grabbed a pair of tweezers and gently extracted the bullets out of Maria's thigh.
"Well, it wasn't needed. It doesn't look like the artery was hit at all, but came close." She explained, taking the bullets and placing them in a container to be tested.
"Skye, can you take Emily back to the lab while I do this? Maybe get her some clean clothes?"
Skye nodded and took Emily by her elbow, only for the girl to struggle.
"No! I'm not leaving!" She exclaimed, struggling as Skye's grip was replaced by Grants. Coulson sighed, expecting for this to happen and nodded at Simmons, who gave Fitz the needle and thread to begin stitching up Maria, who's breathing was becoming some what stable, and grabbed a clear syringe with a clear liquid and walked up behind Emily, injecting the clear sedative into her neck.
Emily relaxed in Grants grip, her green eyes drifting shut.
"What was that, Jemma?" Skye asked, her brows creasing in concern as Grant carried Emily out of the room.
"Just gave her a sedative. She'll come around in a couple of hours." Jemma explained, returning to work unaware that Coulson had left the room.
