AN: I don't own LWD
#55 Not Friends
One night Casey and Derek came home from a night out at the bars with some friends. They staggered into their apartment that they shared to cut costs at college, and were a little tipsy. They stumbled into things, Derek knocking over a vase, and Casey just giggled, too euphoric to care.
Suddenly they crashed into each other, and Derek caught Casey from falling over. They both stopped and looked each other in the eyes. Casey slowly leaned in, ready to kiss him for the first time, when Derek leaned away. "You don't, you don't want to kiss me?" She stuttered, feeling confused and a little hurt. "Case, don't get upset. We've become good friends since college started and I don't want anything to ruin it." He said honestly.
"But you are always getting with girls, what's wrong with me, am I not good enough?" She asked quietly. "You are more than good enough, you're perfect. We get along so well and I don't think we should risk it. We should stay friends." He replied, grabbing her hand affectionately.
Casey snatched her hand away, "I don't want to be friends, or just friends." She said soberly, 'Derek, I think I'm in love with you." She whispered, leaning in closer to him again. She leaned her forehead against his, her hair falling around her face, making a curtain around the two of them. He cupped her face between his hands, and slowly massaged her cheeks with his thumbs. "I just don't want to mess this, us, up. I tend to mess things up all the time, but I don't want what we have to get messed up by me." He replied honestly.
"You won't mess this up. Der, what we have is something that not even you can mess up, because we'll be in this together." She whispered, and Derek just smiled, a true genuine one, his dimples coming out. "Now will you let me kiss you?" She asked, and he smiled, quickly leaning in and slamming his lips against hers.
