The Bus landed at around five-thirty the next morning and Maria had been passed out for most of the trip after refusing to take more pain killers, so Simmons had been forced to sedate her so Maria wouldn't be mean to anyone. Although most would rather a mean or irritated Agent Hill than a goofy one.
As soon as the agent awoke from her drug induced sleep, she quickly grabbed her car keys from the counter beside the couch.
"Well, thanks everyone, and Coulson, if you or someone on your team ever need a place to stay, feel free to call and they can stay at the tower. I'm sure Pepper and Stark wouldn't mind." Maria explained, looking pointedly at Skye and nodding.
Coulson nodded, "I will keep that in mind. Have you informed Captain Rogers of your arrival?"
"No, haven't gotten the chance seeing as I was sedated," She started, glaring at Simmons before turning back to Coulson, "I figured i'd surprise him. It is early, after all."
"Never stopped you before." Emily muttered, earning a glare from Maria as the teen approached Skye.
"Remember what I told you, alright?" Skye said softly, brushing a strand of dark hair out of Emily's face.
Emily nodded, "Okay, I put my number in your phone so you can text me or call me to talk or the next time you guys are in town."
Skye smiled, "Great minds think alike. Stay safe, Em." She said, hugging the other girl tightly before letting her go.
"Ready to go, Em?" Maria asked, nodding her head towards the parking lot of SHIELD's base.
"You're not driving, are you?" Simmons asked, crossing her arms when Maria gave her a, 'what the hell kind of question is that?' look.
"Yes I am."
"Oh fuck no! You're not driving considering the sedative is still wearing off! I want to get home alive, thank you very much! Oh and your shoulder is dislocated. You can barely drive with both hands!" Emily ranted, sighing as she added, "I'm driving."
"Can Emily drive?" Fitz asked, raising an eye brow.
Emily nodded, "Of course! I got my license back in October. I completely disregard the whole year long wait to drive friends crap. Haven't been caught yet, though. Our story is that they're my step siblings if that happens...I wish I had my car though...but it's getting the brakes and the airbag thingy checked."
Maria put her head in her hand, "airbag thingy, Em? And you wonder why I was so pissed at Stark for buying you that Prius. Especially after the last time."
"Steve let me drive his motorcycle! Blame him for that one...oh wait...you made him sleep on the couch after that one.." She said, trailing off as everyone looked amused, "Anyway, would anyone like to come with us? Make sure we get back safe?"
"I guess Leo and I will follow. Anyone else?" Jemma asked, looking at everyone.
May sighed, "I guess i'll go. Get in my car." She said, nodding to the SUV as Maria and Emily got in Maria's car and sped away.
"I think I found out more about those two than i've ever wanted to find out." Skye said, crossing her arms as she, Coulson, and Ward went up to the main area, "Oh, has anyone interrogated Marco yet, dad?"
"No need. I already have the information I need from him. A couple of Agents will come by soon to collect him and bring him back to the fridge where he belongs."
Marco looked up as the door to the interrogation room opened to reveal Skye.
"Well look who it is. Skye, does daddy dearest know you're down here?"
Skye sighed and walked over to the table, sitting down across from her ex boyfriend.
"Not necessarily, and neither does Grant and i'd like to keep it that way," She started, looking towards the surveillance camera wasn't on or recording, "Why?"
Marco sighed, "You're seriously making me regret not killing you five years ago." He said, attempting to put his head in his hands, only for them to hold him back.
"Well, you could've killed me whenever you had the chance, but you didn't. Your loss...but why are you HYDRA? Why do all of this? You can go back, you know. I can get my dad to pull some strings." She said, her voice soft.
Marco laughed bitterly, "Once you're HYDRA you can never go back. You should know how that is."
"Your father can't have any control over you, you know. You're your own person."
Marco glared at her, "Why are you here, Skye?"
Skye shrugged and leaned back in the chair, "I don't know to be honest." She said, quickly getting up as Grant came in with two other agents.
Grant unlocked the cuffs from the chair and placed both of Marco's hands behind his back, locking the cuffs again as he passed Marco off to the other agents.
"What were you doing, Skye?" He asked, his voice soft but stern. Skye looked away from the agents bringing Marco out of the room and looked at her boyfriend.
"I just wanted to talk." She said, looking down.
"Uh huh...you just wanted to talk...to the enemy? A member of HYDRA, a known killer, and you wanted to talk to him?" Grant said, making it sound more like a question.
Skye nodded, "Yeah, I mean, Emily's driving and I don't want her to get into an accident."
"And what did you talk to him about?"
"Why he joined HYDRA, why he can't just quit." She said, figuring there was no point in lying to him.
Grant sighed, "I don't want you to talk to him anymore, okay? I just don't want you to get hurt?"
Skye nodded, "Alright, i'm sorry." She said, not wanting to argue this early in the morning.
Grant was about to say something else when Skye's phone buzzed, alerting her to a new text message.
Hey it's Emily. We got back just fine.
Skye typed a response.
So how many animals had to pay the price for your driving?
She replied, smiling to herself before leaving the darkened room.
Coulson looked up as the door to his office opened and Skye came in.
"Hey, you've been in here a lot lately." She said, sitting down and sighing.
"Just been thinking. What about you?"
"Same. A lot has happened in the last few months, thats for sure."
Coulson nodded in understanding, "What're you thinking about?"
Skye sighed, "Dad, what's going to happen to the baby when all of us have to leave the bus for a mission? We can't bring her with us off the bus. It's too dangerous."
"Well, remember what Agent Hill said. If at any time anyone needs a place to stay, i'm assuming she also meant the baby, the tower is always open."
"But dad, I don't want to have to rely on others to raise my daughter. If we're in Russia or something and she's all the way in New York...they're on opposite sides of the world, dad. Most places we go are so much farther from here and we'd be leaving her a lot."
Coulson gave his daughter a soft smile, "I understand your concern, sweetheart, but if we did have to leave her with them, the longest would be two days. Who knows? We may not have to rely on anyone else to watch her, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
"But_" She started, only for her dad to cut her off.
"Don't worry about that right now, sweetheart." He said softly, getting up and giving her a kiss on the head before he left the office.
Skye sighed and got out her phone, noticing she had a text from Jemma.
Leo and I feel awkward. Maria and Steve are fighting...and Agent Romanoff and Mr. Stark.

Skye looked at the clock on her dads computer surprised that more than half an hour had gone by and laughed out loud. Leave it to the biochemist to cheer her up.
Why? Is Agent May there?

Another reply. This time from Fitz.
Jemma's an idiot! She inadvertently mentioned that Barnes was responsible for Agent Hill's injuries and now the two of them are in the other room arguing like crazy! And Agent Romanoff and Stark are arguing because..well no one should have to explain. She's pregnant and the slightest thing pisses her off. What's he doing? Talking about his suit. Agent May had enough of the arguing so she left...she's gonna be back soon, so Jemma and I might need a ride back...

Skye bent over the desk and laughed before she typed a response.
I'll pass along the message! Who's Steve more mad at? Barnes for hurting Maria or Maria for provoking him?

Skye sighed and got up, heading out to find her dad and give him the information.
