#58 Golf

"Derek please!" Casey begged her boyfriend as they walked into their apartment. "No can do Princess. I don't play golf, it's weird." Derek replied as he opened up the fridge and looked for something to eat. "But you love sports! Golf can get pretty intense." She bargained. Derek turned to her and shot her a dubious look before going back on his food quest. "Please.." Casey whined desperately. Derek finally found something and headed to their couch, ignoring his girlfriend's whining.

"Casey, I would rather get my teeth pulled then play golf. Then on top of that you would want me to behave and be super polite and let your boss win, and though golf is not my favorite sport I always play to win. So no." He said firmly, clicking on the television. "Fine, at least my boss's husband is some eye candy for me to look at." She sighed quietly, turning away from him, hoping her ploy would work.

Though he tried to always remain cool, Derek definitely suffered from jealousy when it came to Casey, and her comment sparked his interest. "What did you say?" He asked curiously, standing up and following her into the kitchen. "Nothing. It's not like anything could happen anyway, he's married.. to my boss at that." She said, trying to keep it cool so her plan would work. "And also you have a boyfriend." Derek reminded urgently, "How many times have you met this guy anyway?" Derek asked, looking at her intensely. "Only a few times Der, he's just a really nice guy." She said, trying to keep her voice casual. He was trying to keep his jealousy in check. He rubbed the back of his neck, "You know what Case, actually I think I will come with you." He said. "Okay, only if you're sure." She said, trying to contain her joy. "Yeah, I'll definitely be there. I'm gonna go shower now." He replied, quickly kissing her on the cheek before walking away. Casey just smirked, knowing she hooked him.

The next day, Casey woke Derek up early to make sure that they arrived at the country club exactly on time. She also made Derek dress nicely, which earned a loud groan from him. After much convincing, and a kiss or two from Casey, Derek was showered and dressed in a red polo and cargo shorts. Casey wore her hair down and wore a black tank top and a light pink skirt. "Let's go Der!" She called, dragging him out the front door.

The drive to the country club was a short one. When they arrived at the gated facility, Derek groaned. "This place is worse than I imagined. You probably play with gold balls here." He said sarcastically. Casey laughed, "I know this place looks ridiculous but my boss adores the place so please behave and no jokes.. Until we get in the car." She finished, looking at him mischievously, causing a smirk from Derek.

They got out of the car and immediately Casey spotted her boss and her husband. Casey grabbed Derek's hand, "Please be nice. Later it's all you and me." She whispered in his ear. "Fine I promise I'll be good." He replied. "Hey there Casey!" Her boss called, Casey then replied, "Hi Kerry, it's good to see you!" She greeted warmly. "And who is this?" She asked, nodding at Derek. "I'm Casey's boyfriend, Derek Venturi, Nice to meet you." Derek said in a friendly manner.

"Well we should be able to head out in a minute, Nick should be out in a moment. And as if on cue, a man jogged out and joined the three of them. "Hey Case, nice to see you again." Nick said, shaking her hand. Derek cleared his throat, "Hey, Derek Venturi Casey's longtime boyfriend. Nice to meet you." Nick dropped Casey's hand and reached his out to Derek, "Hey man, nice to meet you. I'm Nick Swan, Kerry's husband." He introduced. "Okay, let's get out there!" Kerry exclaimed, heading over to the golf carts.

The course was huge, and Kerry and Nick wanted to play a full course game. Hole after hole after hole, Casey thought it would never end. The sun was blazing down and it was scorching hot out. Casey was not really a sports girl, and golf was no exception. She already lost 3 balls by hitting too hard, and at this point she was just dragging herself along. Derek had started getting into the game, and was really competitive at this point.

By the fifteenth hole, even Kerry was tired of the game. "Why don't we just call it a day and get some drinks at the café?" Kerry suggested and Casey nodded in agreement. "We still have five more holes!" Nick reminded, eyeing Derek like a hawk, trying to see how his next shot went. "But it's so hot out and we've been out here for hours." Kerry complained. "Yeah, c'mon Der, let's give in for the day." Casey added, taking a seat on the golf cart. "No can do Princess, I'm in it to finish." He said, his eye still stuck on the game. "Why don't you ladies just head back to the café then and we'll finish the game and meet you back there?" Nick suggested. "Does that sound okay to you?" Kerry asked Casey. "Yeah sounds good, okay with you Derek?" She replied, "Sounds fine, we'll see you later." He answered, neither guy taking his eye off the game.

Kerry got in the driver's seat and the two ladies drove off, leaving the men to their competitive game. "Men and their sports." Kerry said, rolling her eyes, Casey just smiled, she knew Derek wouldn't come back until he was a winning man. Derek always won, in every aspect of his life, and Casey wouldn't have it any other way.
