#59 Grads

Names called one by one, everyone matching in long satin robes and topped with square hats. Derek couldn't believe that he had actually made it to this day. Derek Venturi had actually graduated from university with a bachelor's degree in Media and Film Studies. He knew that he wouldn't have made it this far without Casey. She had really pushed him and helped him earn the stellar grades that he had. She even helped him land an internship at a big film company during his junior year.

The crowd at the graduation ceremony was huge. Families, friends, and current students all came to support the graduating class of 2015. The Venturi-McDonalds were all there, cheering their hearts our when Derek and Casey walked across the stage to get their diplomas.

The University was holding a huge cocktail hour for the graduates and their families and friends. Casey and Derek promised that they would meet the family in a moment to take as many pictures as Nora desired but they just wanted a moment to take everything in.

Derek led Casey onto the now empty stage and pulled her to the center. "Can you believe it? We made it." She whispered, looking out at the campus. "It feels surreal. I guess it just hasn't sunk in yet." He admitted. 'I know I don't say this enough, but thank you Casey. I couldn't have done it without you." He thanked and she just turned and kissed his cheek, "I wanted to thank you too. You have helped me too you know. Without you I probably would have gone crazy without you." She said. "You've always been crazy. But I guess without my loving you would have gone a little more crazy than you already are," He teased, and she just stuck her tongue out at him.

"So what next? We can do anything, go anywhere, the world is ours." Derek said, his arm around her shoulders. "I have no idea," She admitted, "but I'm excited to see what's in store for us." She said and Derek just kissed her forehead as they hopped off the stage to join their family and start their future together.
