Next Day

"Diego! Eva! If you aren't downstairs in 5 minutes you're both walking to school!" Laura called up the stairs as she waited at the bottom with her handbag and keys to walk out the door as she was opening the bakery.

"I'm doing my hair!" Eva called back from the bathroom she shared with her brother.

"I'm doing my hair!" Diego mimicked as he came down the stairs with his school bag on his back and his hair in all directions.

"Take this and go get in the car, you are so much like your father." Laura mumbled, handing him a comb and pushing him lightly towards the front door.

"That's a good thing," Antonio said, leaning on the doorjamb of the entrance way to the family room from the front hall.

"I'm sure it is. Shouldn't you be at work?" Laura grumbled as Eva came down the stairs with her school bag on her back as well.

"I took the day off remember, are you okay babe?" He asked, wrapping her in a hug and kissing the top of her head.

"Yeah, I'm just tired. I will ring you at lunch." Laura said, kissing him before following the kids and walking out the front door and to the car.

"Morning," Gabby yawned, walking down the stairs and heading towards the kitchen to get a cup of coffee.

"Morning, how are you feeling?" He asked, following her into the kitchen and picking up his coffee cup and taking a sip of the hot liquid.

"Getting there, what are you still doing here? Shouldn't you be at work?" She asked, pouring the liquid into her cup before replacing the coffee pot and taking a sip of out of her mug.

"We have that therapist appointment this morning, remember." he said, pulling a face at her and grabbing his plate and putting it in the sink to wash.

"It's early in the morning Antonio, so bite me." Gabby grumbled, sitting down at the kitchen table and leaning her head on her forearms.

"I see you still have your sass intact," Antonio smirked as Gabby glared up at him from where she was sitting.

"I'm going to go get dressed." She replied, standing up and grabbing her mug before leaving the kitchen and going up the stairs to the second floor landing.

An hour later-Irving Park Wellness

"I still reckon we should of gone to the CPD or CFD's counselor," Gabby mumbled as they waited in the waiting room.

"Well we will see how this goes first. Maybe you should rope Matt into coming to a session," Antonio mumbled back as people looked over at them.

"You just want to interrogate him," Gabby replied, pulling a face at him as she leaned back in her chair.

"What are big brothers for?" He smirked, narrowing his eyes at her.

"Remind me to ask Mom and Dad why they had you." Gabby joked, rolling her eyes at her.

"You are mean, aren't you." Antonio replied as the counselor walked out of her office.

"Antonio and Gabriela Dawson," Emmalyn Beaumont called as she looked up from the folder she was holding.

"Come on oldie." Gabby said, standing up and pulling Antonio up and they walked towards the office.

"Watch who your talking to." Antonio said, as they sat down opposite Dr Beaumont.

"My name is Emmalyn Beaumont, you can call me Dr Beaumont, Emma or Emmalyn. I don't mind. Now from what I have read from your file, you two were taken and held as hostages by a Columbian Drug Lord. Can you tell me how that all came about?" Emmalyn started as she looked down at the file on her lap before looking back up at the siblings and taking her notepad and pen to take notes of todays session.

"Uh...I'm a detective for the Chicago PD. And it all started when we received a case involving Pulpo, which is Spanish for The Octopus. My partner and I went to go and talk to one of his accomplices who was helping him deal drugs and murder innocent civilians when he shot a bullet through the door and hit her. She died later that afternoon in hospital. Soon after, we had him downstairs in The Cage, where we interrogate suspects when a fellow detective received a call from my wife. My 8 year old son, Diego, had been taken by Mateo, one his of accomplice." Antonio started, choking up on parts where he mention Jules being killed and Diego being kidnapped by Pulpo and Mateo.

"We got Diego back, everything was going great until Pulpo was released to help the CPD with a case. Antonio was shot and nearly killed later that day, Pulpo was once again caught and put away. However his henchmen found out and came after us." Gabby finished, as Antonio leaned over and held her hand.

"While they held us captive they attacked Gabby and she hasn't let men near her since. She only just started trusting me again," Antonio said and Emmalyn nodded and wrote everything they explained on her notepad.

"How about we start with a few trust exercises than we can sit and talk about what you are feeling Gabby," Emmalyn said, standing up and Antonio and Gabby followed suit.

"I don't trust him catching me. I swear he dropped me when I was kid. On purpose," Gabby joked, folding her arms across her chest.

"I did no such thing." Antonio said, standing behind her and holding his arms up as they did the same trust exercises in CPD and CFD training.

"Bull," Gabby mumbled, closing her eyes and falling back before her eyes shot back open as she stumbled forward with a gasp.

"You okay?" Antonio asked, watching her with concern.

"Yeah, can we skip this part and try again later?" Gabby asked sitting down quickly and burying her head in her hands.

"Of course." Emmalyn said as they all sat down.

1 hour later

"So just make an appointment if you want at the front desk and I hope to see you both again." Dr Beaumont said as they walked back out into the waiting room an hour later.

"Thanks," They both said before walking towards the front desk and making an appointment that suited both their work schedules.

Antonio and Laura's Household

"Gabby! Matt's here!" Antonio called from the front hall as he let Matt in.

"Hey," Gabby said, standing in the doorjamb and crossing her arms across her chest.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked, as they all sat down in the family room together.

"Good, how's everyone at the firehouse?" She asked, folding her legs under her and accepting the cup of tea from Antonio.

"They're missing you. The place isn't the same without you," He replied, leaning back in his chair as they all talked when the front door opened and Eva and Diego came running in with a tired looking Laura following.

"Daddy!" Diego yelled, jumping on his father and hugging him.

"Diego, be careful. Oh don't worry." Laura said, collpasing onto the couch and grabbing a cushion and laying her head on it.

"I better go, Chief will be wondering where I am." Matt said, as Gabby walked him to the door.

"Tell them I will see them tomorrow." Gabby said, kissing his cheek and closing the door behind him.

Family Room

"How about you go upstairs and get an early night," Antonio said, helping Laura stand up.

"Good idea, are you going to be okay for dinner?" She asked, barely suppressing a yawn as they walked into the front hall towards the stairs.

"We'll be fine, go rest. I will cook." Gabby said, hugging the kids close to her as they disappeared up to the second floor landing.

Hiya guys, the next chapter. Will Antonio and Gabby open up to each other and to the therapist? Matt's visiting tomorrow after they visit the therapist, will Antonio and Matt be able to make up for Gabby's sake?
