"Since I met you, I've begun to feel so strange…Could it be I'm falling in love with you, baby…..You've made me such a happy boy…. Meeting you was my destiny"-The Spinners
John sat on Joss's bed with his shoes off holding an ice pack to the side of his head. As he watched Joss throwing bloody gauze away and putting her first aid kit back in her bathroom. John looked down at his recently bandaged hand.
He had the unfortunate luck of having to take down a doped up crack head. The man would not go down easily. He shot the man six times before he finally gave up. Unfortunately he didn't escape from the fight untouched. His hand got cut with a razor and he got a knot the size of a golf ball on the side of his head, and a busted lip.
He could have had Shaw patch him up but instead of going back to the library he went to Joss's place.
He was afraid to define the strange emotion he got whenever he was around her.
Ever since he met her he felt a pull toward her. At first he just enjoyed ruffling her feathers because her reactions made him smile. Whenever she got agitated he thought she looked adorable.
He kept his thoughts to himself she would probably knee him in the groin or shoot him if he called her adorable while she was angry.
When she came back out of the bathroom she placed a small hand towel on her night stand and then she took a Q-tip and put some Neosporin on his busted lip.
He watched as she got under her covers and then grabbed the ice pack from his hands and wrapped it in the towel. She then sat a pillow in between her legs. She gestured for him to lie down.
Once his head touched the pillow she pressed the towel covered ice pack to the side of his head and she leaned back against the headboard and then flicked the lights off and un-muted the TV, and they lay in her bed watching the military history channel.
After a few moments of trying to control his heart beat and emotions John reached up and lightly touched her free hand. A smile spread across his face when she interlocked her fingers with his.
