John was tired not only did the machine spit out four numbers he and Joss had another fight. It had been a few months since they decided that they wanted to be together.

As soon as they decided where they stood with each other, life got in the way.

Joss had unwanted attention from the press and the FBI .The mayor wanted her promoted and she was in the process of sending Taylor to college.

While she handled her business he was taking care of numbers and dealing with Decima. When they did get a chance to see one another it usually involved a number.

Sometimes their arguments were a result of him being careless, she was absolutely livid when she found out he jumped out of a window.

They're recent argument was his own fault.

They had argued about her job and the fact that he wanted her to quit. Not only was she in line for a promotion by the NYPD but she had also received several renewed offers from the FBI as well as offers from Homeland Security.

He got angry with her because she was honestly considering the offers.

John lay back on his bed and wiped his face with his hand, he had put his foot in his mouth. He had told her in a not so subtle way that she couldn't put her career ahead of being with him.

As soon as the flood gates opened they got into a yelling match about everything from where their relationship was going to matters about his dangerous work and what would happen if the CIA came looking for him again.

Not wanting to have to answer her questions he stormed out of her house. But even now all he wanted to do was lay in bed and hold her.

Even with all of the complications of life piling up before them he knew that if he had her by his side,everything would be okay.

It was kind of ironic, he and Joss where anything but normal when it came to their professions, but as a couple he was slowly realizing that they were just ordinary people.

After a few moments he pulled out his phone and called her.
