"For you child…He has the troops and extra backup standing by….For you he's the best he can be Oh child don't you know. Your daddy love come with a life time guarantee"- Sade

Joss moved about the kitchen as she finished putting away the rest of the left over Halloween candy. She had stayed at home to pass out candy this year as John took the girls out trick or treating around the neighborhood. This year Maya was a ninja and Sophie was a fairy princess.

Joss sighed; she couldn't believe it had been six years since the twins were born. A small chuckle escaped her; it was funny how fast time passed. It felt like it was just yesterday that she was a cop trying to arrest a criminal, now she was raising a family with the man who set her world a blaze with passion.

Joss looked at her watch, it was 9 o'clock at night, and it was time for the girls to go to bed. She moved into the living room to tell them it was bed time, but she stopped mid sentence. The scene in front of her was absolutely heartwarming.

They had all fallen asleep watching the Disney Channel Halloween marathon. John was sprawled out on the couch and Sophie was lying on his stomach and they both were asleep. Joss looked down in front of the couch and saw Maya lying on the floor next to one of the couch pillows holding onto Bear like he was a pillow.

Gosh their little girls were growing up so fast. Maya was the eldest by 4 minutes they had both gotten John's blue eyes and Maya most certainly got her height from her father, she was already 5 feet tall. They were both getting to that phase were they were going to need separate rooms. Between the two of them Sophie was definitely the girly girl, the only thing they had in common was the fact that they were both 'daddies' girls'.

Having the twins truly brought out the best in John and she could tell that John secretly cherished being called Dad every day. John truly loved them all and when he loved a person it lasted a lifetime.

Joss silently shook her head she was secretly dredging the day that the subject of boys came up. John was already the living definition of overprotective. Their little girls were absolutely beautiful, she knew it, Taylor knew it and John definitely knew it and that beauty was going to attract a lot of attention when they got older, she could already see John becoming a one man army the second either one of the girls brought home a boy. The last thing she needed was the whole neighborhood talking about her crazy husband brandishing firearms at unsuspecting teenage boys.

Joss quietly turned off the TV and gently woke John and told him it was time for the girls to go to bed. She watched as he slowly sat up and handed Sophie to her as he gently picked Maya up and they both made their way upstairs.

After they had tucked the girls in, Joss watched as Bear made his way into the girls room and curled up in his dog bed and went back to sleep. They both gave the girls goodnight kisses and 'I love you's'. Joss and John took one last look at the girls before they turned the lights off and silently closed the door.
