Too Hot
Saturday started as normal. Miroku got dressed, checked out of the hotel, and went to his favorite coffee shop for breakfast. Sometimes his friend Inuyasha would join him, such as today.
The married man was late like always; his kids and wife needed to be attended to first before he could even walk out the front door. Miroku had already ordered his coffee and was looking over some paperwork when his friend had arrived. For once, he truly wished his friend had been late. He had been reading over the story Kagome had given him, and to the writer's surprise, he actually liked it.
"What's that?" Inuyasha grunted. He plopped down in the wooden chair and started searching for a waitress. The man wore a pair of slacks and a red button down shirt. His long raven tresses were pulled back into a low ponytail. Miroku only spared him a glance as he continued to read the document in front of him.
"It is something a friend gave me to review." He shrugged. His friend accepted the white lie. The waitress arrived at the table before Inuyasha could question him further.
"Hello, sorry for the wait." She greeted anxiously. The teacher waved her off.
"Feh, no need to apologize. I'd like a black coffee to go." He ordered. She nodded and hurried off to get his coffee.
"Is it from that girl you've been talkin' to?" He asked. Miroku gave up trying to read Kagome's story with a sigh. Really, why must his friend be so nosy?
"For your information, yes it is." He replied smoothly. To his dismay, Inuyasha did not stop there.
"Why the hell would you be readin' porn in public?"
"It's not porn, its called erotica and this is not porn. It's a romance. It is about a girl who falls in love with a boy at her school. He is two years her senior and as far as she knows, he does not know her name. For years she suffered the agony over her one sided love. It was not until her second year at University did she decide to try and tell him her feelings; coincidently they both went to the same University-" Just than the waitress came back with Inuyasha's coffee. He paused and waited for her to leave before continuing to speak.
"I don't know why I try, you aren't interested in this stuff anyways." Miroku murmured.
"Damn right." Inuyasha snorted and picked up his coffee, taking a small sip. A second later he found himself pushing the cup away and sticking his tongue out.
"Too hot?" Miroku asked amused. Inuyasha glared at his friend.
"Fuck off." He sneered. "That's it. I'm leaving." Miroku frowned. Why would his friend leave so soon? Is it something I said, he questioned.
"Kikyo wanted me to pick her up somethin' at the store." He grumbled as if reading the males thoughts. Inuyasha grabbed his cup of coffee and stood.
"Don't forget to come to the party next weekend." Inuyasha scolded.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Miroku commented with a smile. His friend 'keh'd and exited the building. He moved back to read the document his Friday night lover gave him, but stopped when he suddenly realized something. Inuyasha left without paying.
Miroku sighed in defeat.
