Chapter 29: Gender
The next day I was woken up by the smell of something burning, I sat up in alarm and ran to the kitchen seeing the pan on fire.
"BLAINE! I THOUGHT WE AGREED THAT YOU COOK NOTHING!" I yelled in distress grabbing a blanket and tossing it over the fire as Blaine was looking at the fire frozen.
After the fire was put out I went to Blaine.
"Blaine are you okay?" I ask taking his head in my hands.
"I'm fine, just didn't know that my cooking skills were that bad." Blaine says still looking at the place where the fire was a minute ago.
"Well this is a bit worse than the pancakes from last time." I say laughing making him laugh too.
"Yeah tell me about it." Blaine says.
"I don't think we'll be able to eat this." I say poking the charted pieces of the egg.
"It's a nice effort, thank you." I say kissing Blaine on his cheek.
"Can you make something?" Blaine asks looking sheepishly at me.
"Sure." I say grabbing four fresh eggs and cracking them in a new pan making them sizzle.
"Here you go Blaine." I say as I lay two of the eggs on his plate.
"Thank you." He says as he kisses me on the mouth.
I sit down on the opposite side of the table and dig into my own eggs devouring them as if I hadn't eaten in years.
"You hungry?" Blaine asks seeing this.
"The little one is making me hungry." I say rubbing my belly.
"Well you have an excuse to eat for two." Blaine said smiling.
"I don't need an excuse." I say kissing him over the table.
"That's right." Blaine said and then digs into his own eggs.
After dinner Kurt went to sit on the back porch looking out the to the lake.
"Every thing's packed to get back to the castle." Blaine said.
"We'll come back here?" Kurt asked.
"Of course." Blaine said kissing Kurt on the mouth.
"Thank you." Kurt said as they walked towards the boat waiting to pick them up.
"Your Majesty." The Captain said as Blaine walked from the walking plank onto the ship.
"Captain." Blaine said as he helped Kurt get over the gap between them.
"Your Highness." The Captain said to Kurt who blushed and nodded to the Captain.
"Captain I suggest you see to it that our baggage is hauled on the ship and stored." Blaine said.
"Come on Kurt." Blaine said as he took Kurt's arm and led him to their cabin.
Once back on the main land Darren and Lacey came running towards Blaine and Kurt who swung them around and then hugged them close.
"Did you have fun Kurt?" Lacey whispered in Kurt's ear.
"I had loads of fun, Lacey. Thank you for asking." Kurt whispered back making Lacey giggle as though she had just been told a secret.
"Kurt, Blaine you've returned." Daniel said giving the both of them a big hug.
"Catherine." Kurt said giving Blaine's mother a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh, you've gotten big." Catherine said as she felt his stomach.
"I've felt the baby kick now a few times." Kurt said and put Catherine's hand on his stomach so she could feel the baby kick.
"Oh, that's amazing." Catherine said.
"Quite the kicks he's got." Catherine said.
"I'd like the doctor to take a look." Kurt said as he and Catherine went inside the building chatting.
Once they reached the doctor's office Kurt knocked and then said:
"Catherine, I'm sure that Blaine will want to see you."
And then turned to the doctor who had just opened the door.
When Kurt exited the office twenty minutes later he was smiling and holding his stomach.
"Blaine, Blaine! You'll never guess what I found out." Kurt said as he entered their shared room.
"Well, let's not keep me waiting." Blaine said as Kurt joined him on the bed.
"It's a boy." Kurt said smiling. "We're going to have a little boy."
"Oh my God." Blaine said as he hugged his husband close.
"We should tell your parents." Kurt said as Blaine nodded and grabbed Kurt's hand running through the hallway's to the dining room.
"Mom, Dad we have some news to tell you." Blaine said as they entered the room.
"Well go on." Catherine said.
"We're having a boy." Kurt almost squealed.
"Congratulations." Both Catherine and Daniel said.
