"I've finally found the nerve to say I'm gonna make a change in my life starting here today there's only one reason that I would… it's you... I just wanna be yours from this day forth…Next year let's call this day our anniversary"-Jesse Powell
John looked at himself in his bathroom mirror. He was nervous, very nervous. He looked at his watch, he had been in the bathroom for almost ten minutes. Dinner and the Opera went off without a hitch, Joss said she enjoyed herself; they were currently back at his place sharing a bottle of wine.
The entire night was nerve racking for him, he kept fiddling with the small box in his coat pocket every three minutes. Tonight was the night he was going to proposed to Joss. Tonight his whole life was going to change, hopefully for better.
John removed his bow tie and exited his bathroom. As he made his way into the living room he saw Joss looking through his record shelf. He took a deep breath as he made his way over to her.
It took him 15 steps to close the divide between them. He was nervous he didn't want to mess up proposing to her. He even went as far as researching which knee he was suppose to get down on and by research he meant listening to Finch's 'fascinating' lecture about the origin of proposals and how medieval knighting ceremonies influenced the tradition.
John gently turned her around, once she was facing him he told her to close her eyes. When her eyes where closed John stepped back a little and knelled down on his left knee and held the open box and held it in his left hand.
He gazed at her as she stood before him with her eyes closed and he realized he didn't want to be anywhere else or with anybody else. Tonight he wanted Joss to know that he was fully committed to her. He wanted to wake up to her beautiful face for the rest of his life. Most importantly he wanted her to know that his heart and soul in its entirety, belonged to her.
Once he was situated he took a quick breath and told her to open her eyes.
