Chapter 34: Waking
When Blaine woke up that morning, he was surprised to see the sun already high up in the sky.
After putting on his clothes he went down to the kitchen to get some food and ask the servants for an explanation on why he wasn't woken.
"Well, we thought after your trip home and seeing your husband you would need your rest." A servant said.
"You thought wrong, bring the food the to doctors office." Blaine said before walking off.
Entering the office he saw the nurse fiddling with something on Kurt IV.
"Oh hello Your Majesty. I'm just adding his third bag of antidote. He's been getting much better, all the color to his face returned and his pulse is almost back at normal speed." The nurse said.
"Thanks. Can I have a moment alone?" Blaine asked and the nurse nodded and left the room.
"Hey honey, I just wanted to let you know that I'm here for you. I'll be right here when you wake up, I just need you to wake up. I love you." Blaine said and then laid his head next to Kurt's.
"Hey sweetheart." Catherine said as she entered the office.
"Hey mom, what are you doing here?" Blaine asked as he stood up.
"Oh please sit down, I'm not an invalid. I'm here to see Kurt. Has he gotten any better?" Catherine asked.
"Not since I got here, the nurse said that his pulse is steady." Blaine said.
"He'll get better, he's a strong man, Blaine. He'll pull through." Catherine said kissing Blaine's forehead.
Suddenly Kurt began to convulse, and Blaine yelled for the doctor.
"Relax, we can't do anything, if we try to hold him down he'll just hurt himself more." The doctor said as Kurt fell limp again.
"What was that?" Blaine asked.
"Not enough blood to his brain." The doctor said.
"Do any of you know his blood type?" The doctor asked.
"No." Catherine answered for both Blaine and herself.
"I know someone who might." Blaine said.
"But I'd have to go into town." Blaine continued reluctant to leave Kurt alone.
"I'll stay with him, we need his blood type, now." Catherine said looking into Blaine's eyes.
And then Blaine ran to the stables not noticing that on the way someone had joined him.
"Your majesty." The person said.
"Yes." Blaine asked as he turned around seeing Dean standing there.
"You shouldn't be going alone." Dean said.
"I can go with you." He offered.
"I would like that, thank you." Blaine said as he saddled his horse as Dean did the same.
They quickly sped off towards the town, once there Blaine asked where he could find Finn Hudson.
"He's on the market place, Your Majesty." The villager said and Blaine ran away before he finished his sentence.
"Thank you." Blaine said and then sped off following Dean.
As he entered the market place and jumped off his horse to the stand where a woman and her son were standing.
"Are you Carole and Finn Hudson?" Blaine asked.
"Your Majesty." Carole said shocked bowing and pulling Finn down with her.
"No need but I do need you to follow me to the castle we need Kurt's blood type, he's in grave danger." Blaine said and Finn jumped over the stand to what Blaine presumed were they're horses.
"Let's go then." Finn said as they all jumped on they're horses and then sped off to the castle.
"His blood type is A." Carole said still urging her horse to go faster.
"Same as mine." Blaine said as the castle came into view.
As they entered the castle Blaine was running so fast that he almost slipped on the marble floors but eventually he reached the doctor's office, the other not far behind.
"Blood type A, I have the same." Blaine said and the nurse immediately pushed him down in the chair and started taking blood.
"Will he be okay now?" Blaine asked.
"He'll be better." The nurse answered as she hooked up the blood to Kurt.
A few days later
Blaine was once again sitting by Kurt just waiting for him to wake up, when he heard a cough.
"Kurt?" Blaine said as he looked at Kurt's face and saw Kurt trying to open his eyes.
"Doctor he's waking up." Blaine yelled and took the water that was standing on the bedside table.
"Blaine." Kurt croaked while Blaine poured a little water in Kurt's mouth soothing his throat.
"Kurt. How do you feel?" Blaine asked helping Kurt sit up.
"Better." Kurt said.
"Hello Kurt, would you mind if we just check a few things?" The doctor asked as he entered.
"Sure, just go ahead but can Blaine stay here?" Kurt asked.
"Of course." The doctor said and started checking Kurt's vitals and asking questions about how he felt.
"Well, it seems like you are good to go, just take the anti-dote every 2 hours for the next 3 days and you'll be fine." The doctor said as Blaine helped Kurt stand up and they walked to their room.
"I lost him didn't I." Kurt asked looking at his stomach.
"No, it didn't affect him at all." Blaine said just as Kurt felt the little guy kick.
"Thank god." Kurt said and they kissed happy to be reunited.
