"Round and around and around and around we go not really sure how to feel about it something in the way you move, makes me feel like I can't live without you... funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving…I want you to stay"-Rihanna
Joss looked at the green florescent colored numbers on her clock. It was 3:48 in the morning. She turned on her side and faced her bathroom door and gazed at the yellow light coming from underneath the door.
She didn't know when or how it started, it just seemed like one day they were barely acquaintances and then the next they were more than just friends. For almost two years they road the merry-go-round of emotions with one another.
It started with slight glances and hesitant touches then progressed into longing glances and convoluted desires disguised as playful taunts. Then one night it changed. They had been sharing a drink after she had spent the entire day in court. Causal small talk eventually led to them sleeping together.
At first they decided it wasn't going to happen again, but it did and it continued to happen. What had started out as a onetime thing turned into a almost constant nightly affair. At first he only came to her when she asked, then he started to ask her.
If what was between them was just sex it would make her life easier, but it wasn't just sex. Sometimes they would just lay in the dark and talk; sometimes they would just lay in the dark and hold each other. Other times he would cook for her, and sometimes he would come to her so she could patch up small wounds and then they would just lay in her bed and watch the History Channel.
Joss heard the toilet flush and the sink turn on and after a few minutes she saw the light go off and the door open. She watched as he crept across her room gathering his clothes.
One constant that had become an unspoken rule . No matter what they did or when he arrived he would always leave by 4AM. When, whatever that was between them started, she had never asked him to leave afterward, he would just go on his own accord.
But as the days turned into months, she was slowly losing control over her emotions. She almost laughed at her growing dependence on him. It was like John was her savior even though he was the broken and emotionally damaged one.
Joss felt the foot of her bed dip as she heard John putting his shoes on. After a few seconds she heard him head towards her bedroom door to leave.
Before she knew what she was doing she shut her eyes and let her heart talk.
"John,please stay?"
