Power Rangers Digital

Chapter 7; Fears and Fights part 5, Kari's Dark Angel. Princess of Pinks "Galatic" Storm:

Henry faced his own inner demons as ThrashGargomon attacked him in his dreams. He also discovered a totally different side of Jun that not even her companions and fellow Ranger mentors knew. The Masked Rider aided the Titan Ranger face down his fear of losing control that was ThrashGargomon. Today it's Kari's turn.

Power Rangers Digital Charge

In the Kamiya apartment Kari is listening to the CD Jun burned for her as she went through a martial arts kata that looked more like a dance routine. Her mom wanted her to be a traditionally raised Japanese girl. She probably would be one if she hadn't been chosen as a Power Ranger. The Ranger gig opened her eyes to a lot of things and she was appalled at what she found. There was nothing glamorous about being a mindless drone who would wait for a man to save her and just let heself get raped or killed. She asked Jun if there were any martial arts styles that were like a dance routine and she wasn't dissappointed.

Recently though she had several violent nightmares. She knew she wasn't able to tell her parents about the ranger thing. She couldn't tell Tai either. Gatomon knew because she hung out with the others in the lab whil they fought. Idly she wondered what it was like to use the different powers her fellow Rangers used. She made a mental note to ask them later. First though she was going to see Jun about her nightmares.

In an old and fairly gothic looking castle a woman with black hair and violet eyes. Dressed in dark purple robes looks at her mirror. Playing with the Child of Light's dreams was quite fun. More fun than that little red head brat in the other city who actually believed she was her mother. At least with the Child of Light there was the fact her parents shielded her from the most arcane aspects of human woman giggled evily, since Bagra's data had been purified by that wretched Animus and created a new body for some wizard there hadn't been much fun. DATS kept thing carefully regulated and those damned Hunters were the S.P.D. officers of the Digital World under direct report to the King that blasted Shoutmon. If those damn rangers ever found out about the Fusion Daggers and completed their Digi-Zords Master Vile and Daemon's scheme would be toast. Laylamon laughed, the pink girl would go down.

Back in Odaiba Kari sees a boy who looked like he was fourteen. He was 5 foot 4. He had shoulder length midnight black hair twin bangs, and hazel eyes. He wore a red shirt, a black leather biker jacket, dark jeans, and black tennis shoes. Standing with him was a Dorumon. Next to him was a nine year old girl who had the same hair color only she had green eyes. The little girl can be seen with a Lalamon. Smiling Kari realizes that the two were siblings. Walking down the road she spies an older woman with green eyes and light brown hair held back by a pink hair band. Her clothes were a black tank top, a silver jacket, black pants, black boots, silver bracelets, and a silver necklace with a pink wildcat charm. Despite her mostly dark clothing she actually seemed nice. Having stopped to help an elderly shop owner with cleaning up around the store.

After wandering around for a while Kari felt a little dizzy. So she teleported to the command center. An elderly man in a red tank top, brown shorts, sandals, a blue over shirt, orange headband, and sunglasses holding a cane in one hand and a black device that looked like a mix of an mp3 player and a micophone smiled, "It will never cease to amaze me. My originals are helping the new kids with their journey. May the Power protect you Kari Kamiya. Pink Digital Ranger." With that thought the man and his digimon a Clockmon dissappeared. The digimon saw a robot walking around saying, "Aye yi yi what are the villians planning? Zordon where are you? Why can't I find the Rangers?"

Arriving in the command center she almost falls over. Henry who walking out of the Zord bay catches her. "Hey Junnie! We got a problem!" Henry yells. Jun walks out of the Zord bay spies Kari. She tells her student in the Ranger Arts, "Take her into the medical bay Henry. I'm going to call Dana." Henry does as ordered. Dana walks in and immediately sets to work on examining Kari. When the pink ranger comes to, she notices Dana. As well as the fact that she's in the command center medical bay. "What happened? The last thing I remember was teleporting to the command center." Kari asks. Dana replies, "You passed out. Henry caught you before you could land on the ground and brought you into the medical bay while Jun contacted me." Kari smiles, "Thanks Henry. Thanks Jun. I owe you guys one." Both Henry and Jun brush her off saying it was no problem.

After Kari is treated for her fatique she leaves wandering around. She spies a local martial arts dojo that had a flyer for a gymnastics demo in twenty minutes. It was free to the general public. She saw a blonde woman and an asian woman both wearing pink. They were talking about the demo.

Settling into her seat Kari watches as a gorgeous petite brunette woman with warm brown eyes goes through an amazing floor routine. The performance the woman gave on the uneven bars, balance beam, and her landing was absolutely beautiful. The announcer says, "Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for Kimberly Ann Oliver. We hope you enjoyed the demo." As she was leaving Kari was given a flyer for one weeks free lessons at Shining Crane Gymnastics. It was owned by the gymnast she had watched in the demo Kimberly Oliver. She might try to talk her parents into martial arts lesson if she said it would be to supplement her gymnastics intrest.

Laylamon smirked. The time was near for Kari Kamiya's demise. What the female demon lord didn't know a Lucemon who had been friends with the royal knight Omnimon was making plans of his own. It was time to talk to Impmon. The shadow morpher would be needed soon. He could feel it.

Kari walks around town. She spies a boy with blue hair and red eyes in a grey sweatshirt over a teal t-shirt, brown pants, black sneakers, and a red and yellow cabbie hat. Walking with him is a Dracmon. The boy looks at his watch. Another boy with plum colored hair and blue eyes walks up and says, "It's great to see you Ren. I can't believe you moved here." The boy Ren shrugs and replies, "I know Ken. It just means that we can see each other more cous. I had to leave all my friends behind though. Dracmon misses his friends too." The Dracmon nods to confirm this. Kari walked off leaving the cousins to their day. However, she failed to notice a portal had appeared at she walked through it. Finally looking up she saw she was at a castle. It was old, fairly gothic in style, and slightly in disrepair. She heard laughing all around her.

The pink ranger steels herself and speaks, "Show yourself!" What she saw was a dark version of herself. Black hair, dark purple eyes, and wearing black and dark purple clothing. Kari used her powers of light she gained when she became the pink ranger. Her dark counterpart smirked a wave of dark energy flung Kari backwards. Unknown to the dark Kari or the real Kari, a Digimelody, appeared. One who knew the Digidestined of Light and pink ranger. He needed to get his dear friends partner some help and fast.

Arriving in the real world the Digimelody found who he was looking for. The woman Kari saw helping the elderly shop owner. In a slightly raspy voice he spoke, "Karone Goodson, Astronema I beg you please help me." The woman identified as Karone whipped around expecting a battle. "Who are you?" She asked. The navy blue Digimelody took a more defined form, "I am Wizardmon. The current pink ranger is in need of your help." Karone was very torn. She did want to help but, "I don't have my galaxy morpher anymore. It's on Mirinoi with my Quasar Saber." A familiar spirit showed up, "Hello again Karone." Karone was really shocked. "Kendrix? Why are you here?" Kendrix smiled. "I'm here to bring you something." The spirit woman handed her the Pink Quasar Saber. Along with the pink galaxy morpher. Karone was greatful. "Thank you Kendrix. Wizardmon let's go save your friends partner."

Back with Kari and her evil counterpart, the two were both fighting rather hard to win. Though it's quite obvious that the evil Kari was winning. The real Kari was hit against a wall. Her wrists and ankles bound to the wall by black crystal. The evil Kari's form morphed until she resumed her real form of Laylamon. The female demon lord just laughed. "It's such a shame your going to die today, little girl. I've had a lot of fun playing around with you. It was much more fun than when I played with that Angie Hinomoto girl into thinking I was her mother." Kari struggled to get free, "Let me go! You wretched little creep."

Again Laylamon laughed. "Tough break little girl. Looks like the Child of Light will die here." Laylamon is about to end it. Kari closes her eyes unable to watch her own demise when a distinctly female voice shouts out, "Beta bow. FIRE!" Pink energy arrows hit Laylamon in rapid succession. The female demon lord looks at the black clad woman. "Who are you?" The brunette woman in black, pink, and silver grinned, "Call me Astronema." The name strikes familiarity with Laylamon. "Astronema, the Princess of Evil? HA. She was killed during Countdown years ago." The woman Astronema as she called herself smirked. "No my brother the red space ranger saved my life. It was Dark Specter and Ecliptor who were killed." With speed and precision Astronema freed Kari. "If you must know my real name is Karone." She held up her morpher, "Kari you ready to take this little skank down." Kari smirked, "Hell yes I am."

"Go Galatic!"

Digital Force, Go go Digital!"

Morphing sequence:

When Kari slashed the pink card through her digimorpher she was enveloped in light pink data. She did a cartwheel when a pink armor suit materialized on her. The pink card dissolved into data becoming her helmet.

Karone did a backflip as her suit materialized. Eash piece snapping on in rapid succesion. Dropping from the air her helmet snapped into place.

Karone sheathes her Saber and spins on her hands kicking Laylamon in the air.

Both Pink rangers charge their weapons with power before charging.

Kari and Karone hit Laylamon who starts disolving into data.

"Karone thanks for helping me. But how did you even know?" Hari says after a minute. Karone said, "I was asked for help by a Digimelody. It was of a digimon named Wizardmon. He asked me to come help you out." Kari smiled, "Good old Wizardmon. He was there when I needed him as a child. And he's helped me out again." Karone was confused, "He helped you out as a child?" Kari nods, "At the time my digimon partner Gatomon, was working for Myotismon. Her only friend was Wizardmon. Myotismon wanted to find and destroy the eighth digidestined child. Me, because I was meant to be the bearer of the eigth crest the Crest of Light. When Myotismon tried to kill me and Gatomon. Wizardmon took the full force of the hit. It killed him instead of me. Three years later, I saw him again. He warned us about what was to come and how to free Ken from the control of the big bad the second generation dealt with. He said, 'Kindness, will release the Golden Radience.' Ken held the crest of Kindness. He was the key to unlocking it's power."

Karone smiled. "He reminds me of my brother Andros' best friend. Zhane. He took a major hit from Ecliptor that was meant for my older brother. Zhane was placed in a cryo-chamber so he could heal. He joined the space rangers in the end. As a very invaluable member of their team, The six rangers won the battle known as the Countdown to Destruction." Kari was wide eyed in amazement. "Wow, really?" "Yep. Listen my friend Kimberly is doing a thing for all of the pink rangers at her place. Do you want to come?" Karone says. Kari replies, "Sure. Maybe some of the other pink rangers can help me with a problem."

Karone and Kari head up to the Oliver residence. On the vast front lawn there were several picnic tables lined with food and drinks. Gatomon who found Kari, insisted on going with her and Karone to this little get together for pink rangers. Kim walked on over to greet Karone, Gatomon, and Kari. "Hey there Karone. Who is this?" "Hey Kim. I'd like you to meet the newbie. Kari Kamiya, she's the Pink Digital Ranger." Karone replies. Kimberly hugs Kari, "Welcome to the family Kari. Help yourself to some food. Mingle with the girls. Get to know your sisters in arms."

Kari having got a plate for herself and one for Gatomon actually found the pink rangers to be great company. All of them having similar problems to her own. Kim gathered the girls around so they could hear Kari's problem and give her advice. Karone gives her junior a supportive squeeze on the shoulder. "Go on Kari. Remember we're sisters in our color."

Kari nods, "My parents have sheltered me most of my life due to the fact I had a weak immune system. As I got older, my mother said she didn't want a rebel for a daughter. She fealt that my being involved in the Digital World was a form of teenage rebellion. She refuses to let me take any type of self defense lessons. My mom keeps shoving these pamphlets for Ikebana(Flower arranging) in my face and for tea ceemony lessons. She says to me everyday, 'I don't like the fact you spend more time with guys. Men like gentle girls. I really don't care what you say Kari. Your going to be a proper Japanese lady if I have to take your digivice and ship you off to a finishing school.' I want to be able to defend myself and to have the options my friends on the cheer team have. My mom wants me to rely on a man for everything including my own defense. She basically wants me to be a mindless little drone. Laylamon was acting like a traditionally raised Japanese girl gone psycho. Seeing that made me realize I was afraid of losing myself and what makes me who I am if I just give in."

Dana just has a thoughtful and firm look on her face. "Kari I can see this is bugging you. But the only advice I can give you is to stand up to your mother and put your foot down. Your the only one who has any say in your future." A woman with very curly brown hair and light red-brown eyes says, "Dana's right. Your future means it's your choices. Tell your mom that this is your future and you refuse to let her dictate it to you." Kari agrees but has one request, "Could one of you come back with me? I'd like some support when I do this." Vida a woman in punk/underground DJ style clothes says, "I'll go. It's no problem for me to help you. You remind me a lot of my twin sister Madison. She's my teams blue. I know you'd help if it was me."

Kari and Vida head to the Kamiya apartment. Kari finds her mom looking at yet another Ikebana class pamphlet. Her dad, Tai, and Agumon watch as Kari lets in Vida. "Kari sweetheart I found the perfect after school activity for you. You'll be a proper woman in no time." Mrs. Kamiya gushes. Kari sighs. "Mom, if it's Ikebana or a tea ceremony class you can fucking forget it." Mr. Kamiya looks up at Kari. Mrs. Kamiya says, "Young lady I can't belive what you just said. Those boys are a bad influence I.." Kari cuts her off, "No mom. Your the bad influence. You keep trying to dictate my future. What's your deal? You didn't get what you wanted as a kid and now you force it all on me. That's what this is. I don't give a flying fuck about being a 'proper woman' mom. Times are changing and you refuse to even accept it. You are actually gonna shut your damn mouth and listen to what I have to say."

Mrs. Kamiya looks at her daughter in shock. Tai and his dad have identical grins. Kari finally snapped with Mrs. Kamiya's damn attitude. "I am never going to take Ikebana or tea ceremony lessons. I want dad to sign me up for martial arts and gymnastics lessons. I'd like Tai to actually teach me how to play soccer. I would actually, rather have my own opinions than be what you are mom. A damned mindless drone. You rely on dad for everything. You don't work. You don't speak up for yourself. And you don't defend yourself." Mrs. Kamiya snapped, "A woman defending herself is completely barbaric!" Kari grins, "Barbaric am I? Are all the female Power Rangers barbaric mom? Considering how many lives they save I'd say not. But I figure better to be as you say barbaric than be an easy target for rapists and murderers. I refuse to let a man walk all over me. I'm going to do something with my life. I could be a teacher. A doctor. A scientist. Anything I want. This is MY future mom. Not your second chance to live out the dreams you never could." Mrs. Kamiya goes to slap Kari, but she steps out of the way. Twisting her mothers hand behind her back. Mrs. Kamiya yells, "Let go you little punk. Your grounded Kari."

Mr. Kamiya says, "Kari's not grounded Yuuko. Tai I want you to take your sister, the digimon, and your sisters new friend to look around some local dojo's. Kari did you have a particular studio in mind?" Kari releases her mom and says, "Yes dad. Shining Crane Gymnastics. I was also looking into the Lost Galaxy karate dojo. It's cheap and it's gotten ecellent reviews."

A few weeks later Kari rolls her shoulders as she finishes her latest lesson at the Lost Galaxy dojo. "Hi Kari." "Hey Karone-sensei. What's up?" "Nothing. I was just wondering how things are going at home with you." Kari sighs. "For the most part their okay Karone. My mom won't even look at me anymore. It's like I don't exist to her at all. She keeps saying she's looking into finishing schools that wil get rid of my 'rebellious attitude' for her. Though Vida said she'd be glad to help me find my own place." Karone had spoke with Mr. Kamiya when he came to pick Kari up in her office and the two made an arrangement. Suzumu Kamiya goes home with Kari to find his wife looking triuphant. "What's your problem Yuuko?" Yuuko Kamiya smirks, "Nothing, Kari go pack. Your going to Miss Francessca's School for Japanese Female Arts." "When did I ever agree to this?"

An hour later Kari still hasn't packed when someone from the school shows up. Mr. Kamiya tells the headmisstress. "I'm so sorry you came all the way out here ma'am. But my daughter will not be attending your school. My wife never even consulted me about this and is trying to force my daughter to do this." The headmisstress nods her head and takes her leave. Suzumu calls Karone and immediately has her come over with her attorney. Taylor Meyers.

Ten minutes later Suzumu has just finished signing the papers that would transfer custody of Kari to Karone when Yuuko walked in. She mistook Karone for the headmisstress and the custody transfer forms for the admissions papers. She signs the papers and Taylor walks out. Karone walks in and sees Kari just packing the last of her things into the final box. Karone says, "You ready?" Kari nods. She walks out to her biological mom and says, "Hope you don't get bored here without me." Yuuko grins, "Enjoy finishing school." Kari smirks, "You didn't really believe the forms you signed were admission forms did you? Looks like I was right then. You really are a mindless drone. What those forms really were, is legal forms transfering custody of me to Karone here. You have no control over me what so ever now Yuuko. Suzumu and Tai will both still be in my life but you won't be ever again." Karone looks at her now adopted daughter. "You ready to go Kari?" Kari grinned as she hefted her pink duffle bag and back pack over her shoulder, "You bet...Mom."

Arriving at Karone's house Tai helps Andros, Zhane, Carlos, and T.J. load all of Kari's things into her new bed room. The room was painted light pink with silver fluffy carpet. A white bed, white desk, white dresser, and a mirror closet with silver for the closet door frame. Her bed spread is pink and white. It took twenty minutes between seven people and two digimon to unpack and put away Kari's belongings. Karone gave Kari a brand new desk top and lap top computer as a homecoming gift. Both of them were hooked up to the internet. Kari sighs in pure contentment. Her life was perfect.

That night Kari's chatting on her phone to Rika telling her about her new situation. Rika to say the least is thrilled. Kari is finally in a situation where she can be happy and be who she wants to be.

As Kari goes to sleep in her new room one thing is certain. She's gonna be alright.

"I just don't think I can do it." Davis has a hard time admiting he's scared of letting his problems with the thought if things went differently, HE could have been the Digimon Emperor. "This is the end of you blue ranger."

"Hey who are you?"
