"I got my plans, I don't know about you. I'll tell you exactly what I'm gonna do. Get in the groove and let the good times roll. I'm gonna stay here till I soothe my soul If it take all night long…We're gonna stay here till we soothe our souls"- Sam Cooke (version)

John cast out his fishing line as he sat on the dock. It had been awhile since he felt so peaceful. Harold had given him a weekend off to spend time with Joss and Taylor…sort of. At first he refused to go because he was worried about what would happen if he wasn't around. Before he could say anything else he felt a prick in his back, the last thing he saw before he passed out was Shaw holding a syringe.

When he woke up in the bed at the cabin he realized Shaw had drugged him and judging by the innocent look Joss gave him, she was in on it. She had taken his phone, gun and hid the car keys so they were stuck at a nice cabin near a lake.

After his initial moping he gave up and decided to enjoy their weekend off. They all went hiking, water skiing, he taught Taylor some survival skills.

John was brought out of his thoughts when he felt a kiss on his cheek. He smiled and turned around and kissed Joss back as she handed him a bottle of water. They stood on the dock enjoying the serene sounds of nature as the sun began to set. The silence was broken when a loud bark caused him to turn around; before he could stop Bear the dog had already jumped at him. He stumbled backward and bumped into Joss. He closed his eyes when she yelped and he heard the splash of water.

John let Bear down and turned around slowly and saw Joss wading water in the lake. He couldn't control himself, and starting laughing out loud at her. Joss yelled at him and complained about her hair. John took pity on her and decided to help her out of the water. As he moved to the edge of the dock to help Joss he heard Bear bark again, before he could react to Bears bark he felt dog paws push him face first into the water. When he re-submerged from the water he heard Joss laughing at him. When he looked back at the dock he saw Bear running back towards the cabin.

John smiled as Joss wrapped her arms around his neck, he couldn't remember the last time he felt this good. He closed his eyes and savored the happiness that was soothing his soul as he enjoyed his family vacation.
