Joss sat at the Island in John's kitchen drinking a mug of coffee and playing solitaire. Joss looked at the clock on the stove in John's kitchen, it was 4:43 in the morning and she had been up all night waiting for John to get home.
If someone had told her five years ago that she would be shacking up with a former CIA operative she would've looked at them like they were crazy, but sure enough five years later she was crazy in love with John Reese and she wouldn't have it any other way.

A smile spread across her face as she heard the tumbles in the lock of John's front door turn. Joss put her mug down and moved over to the door as John walked in. As soon as he took of his coat and suit jacket she pulled him into a hug.
