"Every second counts 'cause there's no second try….If today was your last day, and tomorrow was too late….Would you find that one you're dreamin' of? Swear up and down to God above that you finally fall in love… Would you live each moment like your last?... If today was your last day"-Nickelback

Joss stared blankly at the flowers and get well balloons next to her bedside. She had been awake for four hours; her family had left an hour ago, although she put on a front of being okay she was far from it on the inside.

She had died. Three times. Once on the way to the hospital and twice on the operating table.

The events leading up to her shooting were on instant replay in her head.

The breakfast she skipped because she was running late, the red light she ran, the seven cups of coffee she had throughout the day to wake up. But what she remembered the most was Johns panicked voice and the tears in his eyes when he was trying to stop her from bleeding out.

She felt her eyes burn as they began to tear up. She died and she never got to take a chance with him. It had only taken milliseconds for her heart to stop beating, for her to loose unconsciousness and drift into the unknown, never to open her eyes again.

Joss sat up in her hospital bed as the panic began to set in, that she could die at any second and be gone to the world forever and so many things would be left undone and unsaid.

Her head shoot up as her hospital door opened, as soon as she saw his face she yanked the IV out of her hand and bolted out of her bed towards him ignoring his startled voice as he asked her what she was doing.

She didn't care that her hand hurt form removing the IV or about the pain from the stitches she just tore, all she cared about was touching him, holding him.

As they sank to the floor, all she could hear in-between her sobs, was the chanting of her own voice as she told him how much she loved him.

She didn't care about the startled looks on the doctor and the nurses' faces as they came to check on her. They were going to have to sedate her if they wanted her to let go of him.

She could die at any second of any day and she would have many regrets about her life but letting John know she loved him more than life itself wouldn't be one of them.
