Niki squeezed her eyes together before they fluttered opened. Stretching her arms over her head, she felt the flower petals tickling her skin. Breathing in deeply, the sweet scent of the lilies filled her nose. She raised her feet up off the ground, pulling them up over her head and staring at her white knee socks and white Converses. Sitting up, she looked around, yellow and white petals sticking in her hair.

A tall figure clad in dark blue and black walked toward her. Niki squinted her eyes to try to make them out better, squealing when she recognized the outrageous arrangement of black spikes surrounding a handsome face with smirking violet eyes.

Zack knelt down next to her, giving her a heart-stopping smile. "Welcome back, Niki-chan," he said kindly.

Niki grinned and threw her arms around him. "Kandi says 'hi'," she told him, gnawing on his earlobe.

The SOLDIER returned the hug and smiled, his heart tugging a bit. "Thanks," he said, patting her back. He stood and reached for her hands. "Come on. Let's go check on them."

Niki grabbed his hands and jumped to her feet, giggling as he turned his back to her and knelt down a little bit for her to climb on. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and her legs around his waist, his black spikes tickling her nose.

"Can you show me how to do that thing?" she asked quietly.

"What 'thing'?" he asked.

"The feelings thing," Niki told him, burying her face in his neck. "Reno…he needs someone."

"Ah," Zack replied, turning his face to place a playful kiss to her nose. "Gotcha, Kiddo. You know who yet?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I think so," she said. "If it's just a crush, my feelings will make it stronger, right?"

"Yeah."

"But…how will Reno fall in love with her?" she asked.

Zack smiled. "Something will trigger inside him that will remind him of how happy he was with you," he explained. "Then the feelings he had for you will transfer to her. But he'll never forget you or stop caring about you."

"Will I stop loving him if I give her my feelings?"

Zack laughed. "I can tell you from experience, you won't," he told her. "In fact, as her feelings grow, so will yours. And you'll love it because the one you love will be happy."

They stopped at the pool and Niki slid off Zack's back. They looked down into the water and watched as a female came into view, her emotions clearly written on her features. They had caught her at a bad time. She was pissed.

Zack laughed again. "Her?" he asked. "Are you kidding me?"

Niki giggled. "I like her," she said, watching as the woman threw her clothes into a bag, screaming at a noble figure of a man standing in her doorway. "She's fun. And I think she needs it just as much as he does."

"Probably," Zack agreed. "If you're sure, all you have to do is touch her heart through the water. She'll take your feelings for him and they'll become hers."

Niki nodded, reaching into the water and touching the woman's chest. Energy trails came out of her heart and flew into the image. Nothing changed, but Niki felt lighter.

"Is that it?" she asked.

"That's it," he said. "Next time they meet, they'll connect."

The little brunette smiled and nodded. "Good," she said, watching as the woman stormed out of the pagoda and called up a pilot friend to take her to Costa del Sol one last time. "Take care of him, Yuffie."
