He's Just My Everything
Jane
~Sarah's P.O.V.~
At school the next day, I was timid and kept looking over my shoulder for vampires. I couldn't help but to feel like they all suddenly knew of my betrayal. But Erica had made me ignore them, and now I had no one to talk to. My back had to be turned to all of them.
Thank God.
"Yo, Sarah." I tensed when my name was called as I put my books away before lunch. I turned to see Aiden Powers, a vampire prick. He was the same skin tone as mine, with close cropped black hair and dark eyes.
He was beautiful, but so were the rest of them.
"Have you been avoiding me? Or rather, all of us? You really hurting our feelings, Sarah." He put on a pouty face, but he wasn't sad. He was angry.
"Of course not." I lied quickly. I turned and moved fast to the cafeteria. He was following me.
"That's good. 'Cause if you were by any chance, then we'd all be curious what secret you're hiding. Then we'd find out."
I shuddered. "Then it's a good thing I'm not, then, or else I'd have to kick your ass to keep you away from the secrets that I'm not hiding."
"Enough with this hypothetical shit." He stopped, but instead of joining him, I flashed to the cafeteria.
~3rd Person's P.O.V.~
Sarah stood in the doorway. All conversation from her usual table to the left stopped as they turned to look at her. The table in the far right, in the corner, where Erica, Ethan, Benny Weir, and that weird Rory kid sat was also disturbed. Erica and Ethan turned to look at her curiously, Benny had his chin resting in his hand as he watched her dreamily, and Rory, well, he was still talking.
It seemed all the vampires were curious about why Sarah had been avoiding them, and Ethan and Erica were trying to contemplate her movements.
Jasmine smiled at her and patted the seat next to her. Sarah took one step toward that direction, before her stopped and her face twisted in fear.
Erica couldn't take it anymore.
"Hey, Sarah!" She shouted. At this, everyone turned to stare at her. Everyone. In the whole cafeteria. She paled when this happened, but waved Sarah over. Everyone gasped.
Sarah looked over at the vampires one last time to see their star struck faces. Then turned at walked to the other table. More gasps, and everyone instantly started whispering to one another. She took a deep breath, but only stared forward. Erica smiled softly at her.
~Erica's P.O.V.~
Benny jumped and started panicking. "Oh my God! Sarah Fox is coming over!" He whisper-shouted.
"Benny, were you listening to me?" Rory pouted. I smiled at them. Benny struggled to adjust himself. He finally ran his fingers through his hair and poised himself in a sleek and casual pose. I wanted to laugh at him, but I blushed at how cute it was he tried so hard.
She got over to us, and Benny grinned at her. Sarah looked uneasy and unsure, so she took a seat beside Benny. His ears turned pink and his hands started to figit, and he looked like he was trying to decide what to say. Ethan put his arm around me and smiled.
"That was very kind of you to do." I blushed.
"She needed it." My ears tuned in to Benny.
"So... what's up?" He asked. Sarah smiled timidly at him.
After school, the five of us walked out of school, and Sarah had started to loosen up a bit.
But as soon as Rory's mom picked him up, and as Benny turned to leave, Sarah was suddenly slammed hard into the school wall.
"What the hell was that at lunch?" Said the vampire, holding her against the wall. It was Aiden, a cute but deadly vampire.
Sarah's eyes widened. "I-I-"
"You are avoiding us. We'll find out what you're hiding, Sarah. You have my word." I noticed Benny had turned around, and he looked mad.
"Hey!" Aiden turned to look at him. I gripped Ethan's arm in fear.
"What?" Aiden said. Benny swallowed.
"L-leave her alone. That's what." Aiden smirked and let Sarah go. She slid down the wall. He got close to Benny and before anyone could react, punched him in the gut.
"Hey!" Ethan shouted. Benny doubled over, then Aiden pushed him over.
"Feel good now, Prince Charming?" Benny curled into a fetal position. Aiden grinned and walked away. I didn't know what to do. Sarah crawled over to him.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. It was worth it." Benny said, starting to sit up. He winced.
"That was a very stupid, very brave thing to do." Sarah said looking angry, but also like she was trying not to smile.
"Well, no girl should be treated like that. Especially when they didn't do anything wrong." Benny said, now eye level with her. Sarah giggled and kissed his cheek, before getting up.
"Hey, I gotta go home. I'll see you three tomorrow." She ran off. Benny stood queasily and touched his cheek, watching her go.
"Oh yeah. Definitely worth it."
After this event, me and Ethan walked to his house. I was nervous. His sister meant much so him, and if she didn't like me, I was afraid he would dispose of me. We got there, and I felt like I was gonna faint.
We went in.
"Jane? I brought Erica for you." Ethan spoke softly. Suddenly, her face showed from beside a wall, as well as a tiny hand.
"Erica?" She asked in a tiny voice. I nodded. She stepped forward.
She was so tiny. She body was thin, her skin the same as Ethan's, her hair a light brown, but her eyes startled me. They were bright red.
"Don't be scared." She whispered, her eyes studying me.
"I'm not." She smiled.
"You see," Ethan started. "she's my little sister. She was ill when I turned her. She's under the allowed age to be turned. Children, you know, have trouble controlling themselves. She was turned at thirteen. The lowest has to be fifteen. I have to keep her a secret. As for the eyes, we don't know why they're red. It could be the disease, it could the young age. We'll never know." I could only nod.
Jane slowly approached me.
"What do you drink?" I asked. She smiled.
"Substitute."
I was slightly relived.
After a while of conversation, she demanded a make-over. I agreed, till I realized she meant me.
"Ah, no... no, not me. But I can do your make-up." Erica suggested.
Jane shook her head. "Come by tomorrow. I'll have Ethan buy an outfit for you. For now, you should go home. It's getting late." She dismissed me.
We left soon after. Ethan walked me home, and I invited him in. When we were in my room, I turned on him.
"You're not really gonna buy me an outfit, are you?"
"Of course not." He smiled, and I saw the honesty in his face.
I smiled and kissed him. His hands cupped my face and mine got tangled in his hair. He licked my bottom lip, and my eyes snapped open. I pushed my lips closed a little more. I wasn't ready. He didn't push me. He pulled away.
"Sorry about that. I got a little carried away."
"Don't be." I said, my head still spinning. He smiled small and kissed my forehead.
"I'll see you tomorrow. I... I love you, Erica." My eyes widened. He smiled sheepishly and turned to leave.
"Ethan!" He turned.
"Yes?"
"I-I love you too." I said quietly. My cheeks turned red and I looked down. He turned and tipped my chin up and kissed me again.
Then, after a couple smiles, he left, leaving me in a dream-like state.
Okay, I really didn't know how to end this. But ohh, we have stuff to look forward to! ~TrampledRose
