He's Just My Everything

Rory's Turning

~Sarah's P.O.V.~

And that is went everything went haywire.

In a flash, Aiden Powers pushed the two boys against a tree by their chests. An 'Oopf!' Came from the both, and Rory cried out. Aiden must've broke a rib. I started towards them, but Aiden bared his fangs at Benny, looking at me like I was helpless. And I knew I was. I froze and hissed in return, eyes glowing.

"V-vampires!" Benny shouted. Aiden snapped his jaws at him, and he hushed. My mouth went dry.

"Don't hurt them; I'll make you regret it. Let them go." I snarled.

"Nope." He said. I became irritated. "Tell me, Sarah," He pulled the boys away from the tree and positioned them beside him, putting his arms around their shoulders tightly. I could hear their hearts pounding from here, ten feet away. "Who do you value more?"

I couldn't help it. I glanced at Benny. Aiden smirked. He turned his head to the right, towards Benny, and I took a small step forward, growling. Aiden licked his lips.

"He does smell ever so good..." Aiden said. He turned his head the other way and inhaled. "But this ones making me ravenous..." Rory gulped, trying to lower his head so Aiden couldn't get to him. But he was too close.

"Stop it, you sadist!" I shouted.

"Hey!" I heard Ethan's voice from behind me, but I barely moved my gaze. Aiden, however, looked over my shoulder with wide eyes. He growled under his breath, and made a quick choice; he bit Rory.

"No!"

He cried out as Aiden drank, then dropped him. He had let go of Benny when he bit Rory, and he ran off, out of sight. Rory made a gurgling sound.

"Mmm, that wasn't bad." Aiden said, wiping his mouth off with his thumb. "There's no venom in his body, so he'll die from blood loss, or he'll drown himself. Up to you to save him, I guess."

He shrugged on the jacket drooping from his shoulders, then gave me a look of mischeif.

"By the way, be prepared. He's coming for you. All of you." Then he was gone. I didn't dwell on this, because Ethan was at my shoulder.

"Sarah, what did you do?" He said gravely.

"I didn't do it!" I cried. "It was Aiden." He nodded, and I knew he believe me.

"Sarah! Ethan! What happened?" Erica calls from a distance. Ethan looks over his shoulder.

"I can't let her see this..." He said.

"On it." I flashed to her to get away from the blood.

"Erica, you can't go any closer."

"What? Why not? What happened? Sarah, move!" She tried to side-step me, but I blocked her once again.

"Hey, hey, go check on Benny for me, kay?" She swallowed. "He went that way." I pointed and made sure she left.

I ran to Ethan and crouched beside him. He was covering his nose and mouth, eyes squinted and glowing.

"Can you save him?" I asked. He shook his head.

"It's too late. Is Erica far away?"

I looked at him and realized something; he wasn't near as strong at controlling his urges than I thought he was. He still struggled around Erica, like me. And this blood surrounding Rory must be triggering something.

"Yeah. I told her to go find Benny." He looked up at me, startled.

"What? After all that, you left her alone?"

"It's okay. I know Aiden's done." I said softly as Rory stirred.

"Still... I'm gonna go find them. I can't..." He looked back at the blood. I had a feeling if I didn't make him leave, he would lick off every blade of grass. It sickened me, 'cause I was about to do the same.

I shoved him hard toward Erica and Benny. "Go." He left, panting. I looked at Rory, who was gripping his throat.

"Water..." He weezed. I picked him up and brought him to my house.

I pulled the substitute out of my mini fringe from my room. Rory sat on my bed. His eyes were glowing, but looking at me curiously. I poured a sip or two worth in a small cup.

"Drink. Only this much, slowly. First time, in stings." He nodded and sipped it. He had a suprized face.

"Is this real blood? Am I a cannibal? Do I have to do this forever? Can I fly? Can-" I covered his mouth.

"Drink. And shut up." He took another sip and looked at me. "That's not real blood, but it works fine." He nodded and drank the rest.

"You can still sleep and stuff, so go home and do so. Go about your day. Take this. Only drink about that much for the next couple days, at regular meal times, and you'll be fine for now." With that he left with a thank you.

I sat down on my bed and thought. Aiden had attacked the boys, but it seemed his only perpose was-

Then it all clicked.

He was sent to find my weakness and take it down. But he was driven by his blood lust and fucked up. When he saw Ethan, he faltered and made a quick decision. He is scared of Ethan.

He may know my weakness, but now I know how to defend it.

~Benny's P.O.V.~

I ran and ran until I couldn't. I sat down under one of many trees, catching my breath.

Vampires exist.

The girl of my dreams was one.

I felt sick. And I left her there. She could be hurt. But it seemed Aiden didn't want to hurt her directly. I was still mad at myself. It was all so much...

"Benny! Are you okay?" Erica came over to me, panting.

"Yeah. I think." She sat beside me.

"Any idea how to get out of here?" She asked.

"Nope." She looked scared, then relieved. I looked up to see Ethan.

"What happened?" She demanded.

"Aiden Powers attacked Rory and Benny. He bit Rory."

"And?" She pressed. Ethan shook his head.

"He's one of us." I tasted bile in my mouth. Of course Ethan was a vampire. And now my best friend was one too. I choked back a sob.

"This is insane." I started going hysterical. Erica put her hand on my shoulder.

"Calm down." She said. I rocked back and forth, trying to become a child again, comforted by motion.

I took a deep breath and stood. "Let's get out of here. I need to head home." I need to process all this nonsence.

Ethan led us out of the woods in silence. I found my backpack by the scene of the crime, where Rory and Sarah were absent, and spinted home.

~Erica's P.O.V.~

I felt bad that Benny had to go through all of that. He must be freaking out. He had on a mask of just shock, but underneath, I saw him writhing and sobbing, scared and scarred.

Ethan put his arm around me and I sighed.

"Just take me home, please." I said tiredly.

Sarah was waiting on my porch, pacing. I didn't expect to see her here. When she saw me, her stride stopped.

"We need to talk." That was all she said. I let them in and we went to my room. My mom wasn't home, so she mustv'e called to tell me she was working over hours.

Sarah didn't sit. She never does.

"Listen, I figured out Aiden was sent to find my weakness and take it down. But he screwed up and as driven by his blood lust. When he saw Ethan, he got scared and rushed his choice."

I nodded. "So, you're saying Ethan needs to babysit Benny?" She looke flustered.

"I'm not telling you to; I can do it. But Aiden's not scared of me. Plus... Benny, he might..." She covered her mouth.

"He might not feel comfortable or safe around you." Ethan finished softly. Sarah nodded. I touched her shoulder lightly.

"Sarah, if he really likes you, he'll be fine." She looked at me warily, but nodded again.

"Sarah, is there anything else we need to know?"

She paced for a while.

"Not that I can think of." We nodded. Ethan stood.

"Would you like me to walk you home? And we can talk about getting Rory some substitude as well." She nodded and waited downstairs while I said my goodnight to Ethan.

"So, are you going to watch Benny?"

"Of course I will." He said softly. "He's our friend. It'll most likely be me and Sarah will revolve with Benny and Rory, taking turns babysitting and training."

I nodded and hugged him. But I couldn't help but to kiss him. It was getting kindof heavy when Sarah called for him to hurry. I pulled back, panting, and smiled. He kissed me again right fast, said I love you, and they were gone soon after.

~Rory's P.O.V.~

This was going to take some getting used to.

I had fangs. I have already cut all my fingers touching them, but they all healed.

On my way home, someone grabbed my forearm.

"Rory." I turned, and it was a girl with glowing green eyes and blonde hair put in pigtails. I reconized her as Aiden's plaything. They dated on and off forever. They were currently off. I pulled away, noticing her eyes and hissing.

"What do you want?"

"I thought you'd wanna hang out with us sometime. My friends are getting bored. Don't worry, I'll keep Aiden away from you." She brushed my arm, eyes calming to their more duller green. I couldn't help it: She was hot.

"Well..." I hesitated.

"Come on. Just give me a chance?" She batted her lashes.

"You mean us?"

"Maybe." She grinned. I repeated her.

"Why not?"

The end! Long, but important and informal. Did you catch Aiden's foreshadowing? Review! ~TrampledRose
