He's Just My Everything
The Calm Before The Storm
~Third Person's P.O.V.~
Jesse pulled back, panting, fangs out. He laid back and the foot of the bed and looked at Sarah.
She was in a horrible shape. She was in too much pain to try to breathe, which was lucky, sence she didn't need to anymore. Her body curled up, naked and limp, bruises covering her body. Bruises darker than most wrapped around her wrists and ankles from binds, used for Jesse's experiments.
Newly made fang marks were dotting her neck, shoulders, back. A vampire biting another was considered a sort of claim on them, the way a hickie would be for a human. Her entire body stung, but one part ached so much, she thought it would never heal.
Jesse got up and went to his pants, slipping on his boxers. Then he grabbed a ciggerette and a lighter.
Sarah couldn't help it; she was curious.
"I didn't know you smoked." She commented horasely.
"I didn't know you cared about me." He smirked, looking back at her. Her gazed hardened and shifted. She was silent as he flicked the bic, lighting the ciggerette, and took a long swig. A pink-tinted smoke came out. As he inhaled, his eyes had flashed yellow.
"The nicotine is nothing." Jesse explained. "The tobacco is soaked in blood, then charred. They're so rare, they sell for hundreds. Want a swig?"
"No." Sarah said instantly, but secretly she wanted to try it. "I'll just take one from someone else."
Jesse chuckled. "Stubborn as always. But no one else owns these. No one else here even knows about them. You wanna try, it's only here."
"I-I can't move..." She said, still avoiding contact with him. Jesse sighed and got up, making Sarah tense. He walked over and held it close to her lips. She waited, still being stubborn, then did it.
She'd smoked before. When she was human and stole a ciggerette from her dad's stash. She knew how not to choke on it.
The flavor put a taste like fire-roasted blood in her mouth, and she felt her eyes flash with wonder. She exhaled the smoke and watched it dissappear. It was fasinating.
"Sarah, you used to care about me, right?" Jesse suddenly asked, his eyes glazed over.
Sarah tensed and hissed at him out of instinct. "Shut up!"
Jesse was unfazed. "So you did? Not the 'Oh he's cute' way, but true feelings?"
Sarah paused. "So what if I did?"
"You were so beautiful, Sarah. Even for a human. No matter what side someone fights for, feelings are feelings. And I loved you." Jesse said. Sarah wanted to be mad. She should've been frighened. But she was only depressed.
"Why, then?" She sobbed quietly. "Why did you hurt me? And turn me into this? If you loved me, why did you hurt me? And again just now?"
"My father, also a vampire, has taught me everything I know. He taught me a world if evil. I was convinced it was the right way. Then he was killed. I wanted something - someone - everlasting. A solid rock, as you would. And that night, the first time, you were just so mesmerizing... I couldn't stop myself. And seeing you again, I doubted the meaning of vampires, Sarah. We are Demons, but you are an Angel." Jesse took another puff, blowing out the smoke, and looked back at Sarah.
"Are your feelings still the same?" Sarah asked, her voice void of emotion.
Jesse smiled; not wickedly, not with evil intentions, but with the tender, dreamy look he used to give Sarah. When things were innocent, clear of crimes. "You don't get over a love like that, Sarah."
Sarah was silent, a slight gleam in her eyes. He did still care. He did. He had to.
"Then there's Benny..." Jesse's gaze drifted. Sarah's heart fluttered, then dropped at his name. "I'm not sure what you're relationship is with him. I've heard many different things. You're just friends, you're more than that..."
"Of course not." Sarah said quickly, jumping at her chance. "He's nothing to me. Erica is his friend. I've been..." She hesitated. "I've been trying to get her blood. I have to look like her friend, so, I got to know him too. Plus, have you smelled his blood?"
Jesse looked backed at her with a slight smile. "No, I haven't."
"It's amazing. Totally call dibs. I'd give you Erica, but I've worked so hard..." Sarah drifted off.
"That's okay. You can have both, for your efforts. So... how're your feelings for me, then?"
Sarah grinned. "The same: I think you're a hot prick. A hot prick I'd totally date."
Jesse chuckled, taking another swig of his cigerette. "The same as always, you. Wanna be my girlfriend?"
"Sure."
~Rory's P.O.V.~
I laid on the matress on the floor in Sex Room #3 with Gwen, her body laying beside me. It was pretty late, according to the clock. About four. I've laid here forever, it seems, trying to remember something. You know when you have that feeling you've forgotten something, but you can't tell what? Yeah that's what I'm doing.
I gasped when I remembered. I was going to get help for Sarah. The noises finally stopped; I could hear them from here.
"What is it baby?" Gwen said, looking up at me with cloudy eyes.
"Nothing. I was thinking of, uh, getting a snack. Want some?"
"I'm good. I had some before we started." She smiled at me, probably thinking of how amazing I was. I didn't have time to dwell on it. I kissed her cheek.
"Kay. I'll be back." I got up, slipped on my boxers and pants, and got out of that room. I walked casually through the house, but flashed away when I got out.
I didn't wanna bring Erica here, or else she'll be a meal, a hundred percent guranteed. Benny too. That left Ethan.
I didn't wanna talk to him yet, though. He bit me. He turned me into this. He made me join the Dark Side.
You wouldv'e died, Chided the small part of my brain that makes sence outta stuff. I shook my head. It didn't change anything. I still didn't want to ask for his help again. But I didn't have a choice. I turned around and started toward Ethan's house, a little slower.
When I got there, I heard a little girl's voice laughing.
"You at least gotta try, Ethan!"
"I can't! You're too good." Ethan said, sounding tired.
I knocked, a little too curious as to what was going on. It was silent. Then Ethan peaked through the curtiain before opening the door.
"Rory? What are you doing here?"
"I... Sarah needs your help."
His eyes flashed. "Sarah?"
"Jesse got her."
At the mention of his name, Ethan seemed to cringe back.
"Don't say his name!"
I took a step back. "Dude, calm down. I just need you to-"
"No. I can't do anything. Not anything involving him."
"Look, man, it was either you or Erica! Would you like it if I went to ask her to go to a house full of vampires?" He glared at me for a few moments. I shuffled and looked down. Maybe I shouldnt've threatened him like that.
"If you take Erica to that house, I swear to God, I will make you wish you'd never had been born."
"So, you'll help?"
He looked at his feet. "...I'll think about it. Can it wait till morning?"
"I-I guess."
"Goodbye, Rory. Do yourself a favor, don't go back to that house without me." He closed the door.
Well. That was the end of that.
A little filler chapter to show I still care. Still, much has happened... review! ~TrampledRose
