CH 10: New Friends
It was late in the morning on route 5 and Ash had been up since sunrise training with his pokemon.
"Pikachu Volt tackle!" Ash shouted.
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he covered himself in electricity and sprinted forward at a large rock on the side of the path.
Once he made contact, Pikachu burst through the rock and tore it into several pieces as he landed on the other side.
"Alright, nice work Pikachu." Ash said. He turned to Charizard who was standing next to an out of breath Pidgeotto and Butterfree.
Ash had pumped up Butterfree and Pidgeotto's training since he got his second badge. Not to the level of Pikachu or Charizard, but higher than he had been.
"Alright guys that's enough for now. Let's take a break and get some breakfast." Ash said.
"Ott."
"Free." Pidgeotto and Butterfree said sounding very relieved. Back at the camp Brock was preparing breakfast while Serena took out some plates.
"When is Ash and his pokemon coming back from training?" Brock asked.
"He could be a while, Ash trains his pokemon hard." Serena said. Moments later Charla was laying on the ground when she noticed Charizard land in the camp.
"Char." She said blushing.
Ash and the rest of his pokemon came into the camp behind Charizard.
"There you guys are, breakfast is almost ready." Brock said.
"Thanks Brock." Ash said before he took out his pokemon food.
"Eat up guys." Ash said as he poured food into each of his pokemon's bowl.
"Ott!" Pidgeotto said as he ate up his food like a savage dog.
"So how far are we from Vermillion city?" Serena asked.
"Quite a ways away. It could be several days before we reach the city." Ash said.
"There is a small town nearby, we can stop there today and refill on supplies." Brock said.
"I do need more ingredients for Charla's special food." Serena said. The group finished their breakfast before packing up the camp and moving down route 5.
"So what's this place called?" Serena asked.
"Sybo town, I've been there once on a family trip." Brock said.
"So Serena, what do you think you'll do for your next Showcase?" Ash asked.
"I'm not sure, I don't want to use the same routine again or something similar, I want to do something new, fresh." Serena said.
"I thought your performance in Cerulean city was beautiful." Ash said.
"Thank you." Serena said blushing.
"But still I have to come up with some original ideas. Hopefully I can think of something soon so I can start practicing soon." Serena said.
Several minutes passed before they reached the edge of Sybo town.
"Here we are." Ash said. The town greatly resembled a smaller version of Cerulean city. Many buildings with trees in between them.
They also noticed there were a number of pokemon trainers out, several having battles.
"I like the style of this town." Ash said.
"We should get to the pokemon center and have Nurse Joy check out our pokemon while we're here." Brock said.
"Really, or do you just want to see a Nurse Joy." Serena said.
"That is completely true." Brock said. Ash , Pikachu, and Serena sweat dropped before they went over to the pokemon center.
"Here are your Pokemon, they are in fine condition." Nurse Joy said.
"Thank you Nurse Joy." Ash said.
"Oh the love bug has bitten me now. Do you not feel the same." Brock said as his face turned red and he took Nurse Joy's hands.
"Uh." Nurse Joy said sweat dropping.
"Brock leave her alone." Serena said.
" Until we meet again." Brock said. The three walked outside through the back and saw a battlefield behind the pokemon center where two trainers were having a battle.
One of the trainers was a young man who looked about 19 years old. The boy had light skin and blue eyes and spike brown hair. He wore a blue hat with a yellow stripe for a center. He also wore a green short sleeved shirt with a sleeveless dark green vest as well as a matching green pair of pants.
Standing in front of the trainer was none other than a Pikachu, though this trainer's pikachu had one distinct feature, the fur on his head seemed to be scruffed.
Standing across from him was a young woman who looked about 24 years old. She was quite tall, taller than Brock in fact. She had light skin and red eyes with very long black hair that had two dark red streaks in the front.
The woman wore black pants with a spikes yellow waistline. She wore a sleeveless purple top that covered her chest, but left the top of her waist , stomach, and abdomen exposed. She also wore purple gloves that covered most of her forearms.
In front of the woman was a large black and violet snake like pokemon with its tongue out.
"What pokemon is that?" Serena asked opening her pokedex.
"Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokémon. Seviper is known for its angry disposition, immobilizing its opponents by wrapping its body around them."
"A Seviper, that's rare in Kanto. I guess we were lucky to see this battle huh Brock." Ash said.
"Brock." Ash said as he, Serena, and Pikachu all turned to him.
Brock's face had turned more red than they had ever seen it and his expression more infatuated looking than he had ever looked before.
"Brock?" Serena asked.
"Love! I know I've said this before but I know it now. I'm in love!" Brock shouted as he held his hands close to his face.
Standing on each side of the young woman was another young woman. One with dark blue eyes and short green hair. Another with long red hair and purple eyes.
"We can't give up Sparky, use Thunderbolt!" The boy shouted.
"Pika Pikachu!" The Pikachu shouted as he unleashed a bolt of electricity at the Seviper.
Ash and the others noticed the woman had a ver serious and almost interested expression on her face.
"Severe use Venoshock into Poison tail." She said in a very calm tone.
"Sev iper!" The snake hissed as he opened his mouth and unleashed a bolt of poison energy that collided with the Thunderbolt, causing them both to explode, creating a cloud of smoke.
"Sparky he's coming in, quick dodge!" Ritchie shouted. His Pikachu leapt up and over Seviper's tail as he swung it at the small electric mouse pokemon. Not a moment later, the poison snake slivered under the Pikachu and came back , smashing his violet tail into the Pikachu and hurling him into he ground.
"We can do this Sparky, use double team!" The boy shouted. His Pikachu got up with a determined expression on his face.
"Chu!" the Pikachu shouted as he made a dozen copies of himself and surrounded the Pikachu.
"Thunderbolt!" The boy shouted.
"Hmp, use Dig." The woman said as she closed her eyes. Just before the electricity could reach him, the Seviper burrowed himself underground avoiding the attack.
"Oh no." The boy said as his Pikachu looked nervous.
"It's ok, he doesn't know which of you is the real one." The boy said.
Moments later the Seviper burst up and under the real Pikachu , hurling him into the air.
"Sparky!".
"Poison tail." The woman said calmly.
"Seviper!" The snake hissed before smashing his tail into the Pikachu's chest, hurling him back into the ground.
"Sparky!" The boy shouted.
"CHu." The Pikachu said as he lay on his back with swirly eyes.
"The Pikachu is unable to battle, Pike Queen Lucy is the winner!" Said another young women who was standing beside the woman.
The woman had shorter yellow hair and green eyes. She fore red pants and a red top with her stomach exposed. Over her top she wore a white coat with a purple collar.
"Aww Sparky are you ok? The young man said as he went out and picked up his Pikachu.
"Chu." The Pikachu said with a slight smile. The young man got up and walked over to the young woman.
"Wow that was some match Lucy, you're really good." The young man said.
"That's queen Lucy!" The yellow haired girl shouted.
"Sorry I was just." The young man started.
"Come on Barbara you don't have to be such a jerk." The black and red haired woman said.
"You battled pretty good kid, I." She started before Brock sprinted over and knelt down in front of the black haired woman and took her hands.
"Such beauty and grace, my heart soars like a Pidgeot for you." Brock said.
"Hey get away from queen Lucy!" The yellow haired woman shouted as she and the other 3 girls all grabbed him by his shoulders and dragged him away.
Ash and Serena came up to the woman.
"Sorry about that." Serena said. Ash noticed the woman didn't seem freaked out like the other girls Brock fell head over heels for. To his surprise, he noticed her cheeks had turned slightly red below her eyes.
"Pika." Pikachu said also noticing this.
"Huh!. Oh yeah, I'm fine." The woman said as she shut her eyes and gave a serious look.
"Hey you have a Pikachu too!" The 19 year old shouted as he came over to Ash.
Ash and Serena turned to the young man.
"My name's Ritchie, this is my partner Sparky."
"Pika Pikachu." The Pikachu said.
"Pika." Ash's Pikachu said.
"I'm Ash, this is my girlfriend Serena. You've already met Brock." Ash said sweat dropping.
"Pleasure to meet you." Serena said.
"So you're Lucy correct." Ash asked the woman.
"Queen Lucy! Her name is Queen Lucy!" The yellow haired woman shouted as she and the other 2 woman ran over to them.
"Queen Lucy?" Serena asked.
"Barbara stop being so rude. My name is Pike Queen Lucy." The black haired woman said.
"I knew you were royalty when I first say you." Brock said as he came back and knelt down in front of Lucy before taking her hands again.
"Love delivers me too you and we can't let these feelings go." Brock said. Ash noticed Lucy's face turn slightly red again.
He also noticed there was something else about Lucy's aura. Something a bit familiar, he knew he had never met her before, but something about her aura seemed just similar.
"Hey we said stay away from Queen Lucy!" Barbara shouted as she and the other two grabbed Brock and dragged him away.
"Wait a minute Pike Queen Lucy, you're a Frontier Brain! The Queen of the Battle Pike." Ash said. Ash had never done the Kanto battle frontier, but had heard of many of the leaders.
"That's right, she's the Queen of the Serpentine." Barbara said.
"That explains you're skills Lucy, still you battled very well Ritchie." Ash said.
"Thanks, Sparky and I have been training really hard. I guess we still have some work to do." Ritchie said.
"Pika Pikachu." Ash's Pikachu said to Sparky.
"Pika." Sparky said back.
"I should probably get Sparky to the pokemon center." Ritchie said.
"We should get to the pokemon center too, mind if we join you?" Ash asked.
"Sure, come on." Ritchie said. Ash , Serena, and Brock followed Ritchie to the pokemon center. As they did Lucy watched them walk away, particularly Brock.
Her face turned slightly red before she closed her eyes.
"You know what, I should probably have Seviper looked at. I'm going to the pokemon center." Lucy said.
Inside the pokemon center, Ash and the others were sitting at a table with Ritchie.
"So I'm from Frodomar city, I decided to become a trainer about 6 years ago." Ritchie said.
"Who was your first pokemon?" Serena asked.
"Sparky was." Ritchie said.
"How did that happen? Pikachu isn't a starter pokemon." Brock said.
"Someone having a Pikachu as their first pokemon, cause it's not like you've never seen that before." Ash said as Pikachu looked at Brock.
"Right." Brock said sweat dropping.
"It's actually kind of a funny story, I was on my way to professor Oak's lab when I came across a very hurt Pikachu alone side the road. I was the only one around so I knew I had to help him, I considered taking him to the pokemon center back in Viridian city but that's when it happened." Ritchie said.
"What happened?" Ash asked.
"A trio of men revealed themselves, it turns out they were poachers after Pikachu.".
"How horrible." Serena said.
"I tried to take him away from them but they just kept coming after us. Eventually one used a crowbar on my leg. That's when I went to the ground. I thought it was all over until Pikachu got between the poachers and me. Despite his injuries he and hit the men with a huge Thunderbolt. When I woke up and saw him unconscious with his cheeks sparking."
"So that's why you named him Sparky." Serena said.
"Exactly, after he woke up I took him to the pokemon center in Viridian city. When he recovered Sparky wanted to stay with me. After that we competed in the Kanto League, we made it to the victory tournament, but lost in the 3rd round. " Ritchie said.
"That's too bad." Brock said.
"After that I decided to try out other regions. Earlier this year we came back to compete in the battle frontier, I figured if we could beat 8 extraordinary trainers we could tackle the Indigo league." Ritchie said.
"Again?" Brock asked.
"I already have the 8 badges, so I can reapply any time I want." Ritchie said.
Moments later the doors to the pokemon center opened as Lucy walked in.
She quickly walked over to the counter and placed her Seviper's pokeball on the counter before turning towards the group.
"I guess we need to find a table." Barbara said.
"Well there aren't any open, I'll have to sit with those guys." Lucy said.
"What are you talking about? I see at least 3 empty tables." One of the other woman said before Lucy walked off.
"Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here?" Lucy asked.
"Not at all!" Brock shouted.
He rushed over and knelt down in front of her as he took her hands.
"Fate has brought us together again, we shouldn't deny these feelings my" Brock started before Barbara and the other 2 grabbed him and pulled him away.
"Stop doing that!" Barbara shouted.
Ash noticed Lucy starting to blush a little again.
"So Lucy what brings a frontier Brain here?" Serena asked.
"Huh? Oh well I decided to take a little break from the Battle frontier. Ever since the Indigo league started more trainers have wanted to go after gym badges than frontier symbols, it got rather boring just sitting around, so I decided to start traveling around battling trainers, to keep my skills sharp." Lucy said.
"I found her here earlier today and asked her to battle me. I figured a battling a frontier brain of her stature would prepare me for harder gym leaders." Ritchie said.
"I was happy to oblige, you and your Pikachu did well." Lucy said.
"So tell us more about you guys." Ritchie said.
"Yeah." Lucy said almost directly to Brock.
"Well I'm also competing in the Indigo league too, I'm taking a break from the NPC." Ash said.
"Wait the NPC? You're a professional trainer!" Ritchie almost shouted.
"I guess so." Ash said.
"Impressive, getting into the NPC is no simple task. You must be some trainer." Lucy said.
"What about you Serena, you don't sound like your from Kanto." Ritchie said.
"I'm not, I was born and raised in Kalos." Serena said.
"So are you a trainer too?" Ritchie asked.
"I am, but I don't pursue gym battles, I perform." Serena said.
"Like in Showcases?" Lucy asked.
"Yes, In fact just the other day I placed second in the Cerulean city showcase." Serena said.
"So Brock, what do you do?" Lucy asked.
"I was hoping you'd ask. My dad intended on me becoming the Pewter city gym leader, but my real passion is pokemon breeding. Learning about how to care for pokemon." Brock said.
"Huh." Lucy said as her face turned slightly red again.
"Excuse me, your pokemon are ready." Nurse Joy said as she walked over to the table with Sparky on her shoulder and a pokeball in hand.
"Sparky." Ritchie said. Lucy took her pokeball from Joy.
"Pika Pikachu." Sparky said to Ash's Pikachu,
"Pika." Ash's Pikachu said back.
"Hey would you like to meet the rest of my pokemon?" Ritchie asked.
"Sure why not." Ash said.
"Well now that Seviper's better, we should get going." Barbara said.
"Actually, I want to see the rest of his pokemon too." Lucy said.
"What?" Barbara said.
"I do!" Lucy said insisted.
Outside the pokemon center, the group stood at the battlefield.
"Alright meet my family." Ritchie said as he let out 5 pokemon. A Chameleon, Butterfree, Fearow, Machop, and Ryhorn.
"These are our pokemon." Ash said as he let his other pokemon out.
Charizard, Butterfree, and Pidgeotto came out of their pokeballs. Serena and Brock let their pokemon out at the same time.
"Char." Charla said as she came out with Nidoran and Absol.
"Woah." Ritchie said when he saw Ash's Charizard.
"You're Charizard looks so powerful." Ritchie said. Lucy looked at Brock's pokemon as her face turned slightly red for a moment.
"You're pokemon seem very well taken care of." She said.
"Thanks for noticing, I work really hard to keep them in prime health." Brock said. He then came over to Lucy and knelt down in front of her as he took her hands.
"I'd show you as much care and love as I show them, every day and every ni" He started before Barbara and the other two grabbed him.
"We said stay away from her!" Barbara shouted as she dragged him away. Lucy kept her hands up as her face turned red.
"Did you nickname your other pokemon too?" Ash asked.
"I sure do, this is Zippo, Happy, Cutter, Hardhorn, and Arch." Ritchie said as he showed his Charmeleon, Butterfree, Fearow, Ryhorn, and Machop.
Zippo looked over and saw Charla standing beside Serena. His face slowly turned red as he turned his head slightly to the side.
This caught the attention of Charla .
"Char." She said confused.
Zippo tried to walk over when he gave a look of pain and fell flat on his face.
"What the? Is he ok?" Serena asked.
"Oh no not again." Ritchie said.
Ritchie, and the others went to go check on him.
"She's been having a lot of pain in her feet lately, I've had Nurse Joy look at her, but even she can't figure it out." Ritchie said.
"Let me take a look." Brock said. He knelt down and looked at Zippo's foot.
"H'mm." Brock said as he looked closer and felt her feet and toe claws.
"Wait a minute, I think I see something." Brock said.
"What is it?" Ritchie said.
"It looks like a long time ago one of his toe bones was dislocated. It was never put back into place. Since then it's only been getting worse. I can see how this might have been overlooked." Brock said.
"Wow, I can't believe you were able to find that out like that." Ritchie said.
"Yeah, that was , amazing." Lucy said as her face turned red again.
"Alright grit your teeth, this might hurt." Brock said as he took Zippo's toe and sharply moved it into place. There was a small snapping sound as Zippo yelped. Moments later, Zippo opened his eyes as he felt the pain and discomfort that he had been feeling for the longest time was gone.
"Char." he said as she gave Brock a lick.
"Thanks Brock." Ritchie said.
"No problem, I love helping pokemon." Brock said as Lucy continued to blush. With his foot feeling better Zippo got up and looked at Charla.
"Char." She said a bit confused.
"Char." Zippo said as she raised his arms and flexed. Ash and the others didn't notice this, only the pokemon did.
"Char." Charla said sweat dropping. Zippo looked over at Charizard and realized what was happening.
He growled at Charizard.
Charizard closed his eyes as he shook his head. Zippo and Ritchie's other pokemon all sweat dropped as Pikachu also shook his head.
"Char." Charla said sweat dropping.
"Hey Ash wait a minute." Ritchie said.
"What is it?" Ash asked.
"I couldn't beat Lucy, but if you were in the NPC you might be a good match for her." Ritchie said.
"You think Lucy and I should have a battle?" Ash asked.
"That would be exciting, Lucy did seem very good and it would be a chance for Charizard and Pikachu to face someone on their level again." Serena said.
"That is true, you guys haven't had a real challenge in a while." Ash said.
"Pika."
"Grauu." Pikachu and Charizard said in agreement. Pikachu had gotten to face Flint's Golem, but he was still wasn't battling as many equal opponents as he had. Charizard felt even more anxious for a good battle.
"I haven't seen your Charizard in a real battle yet. Seeing a battle like that would be just awesome." Brock said as Lucy's face turned slightly red again.
"Well It's not every day I get to face a challenger like you. Alright I'll have a battle with you Ash." Lucy said.
"Alright." Ash said.
"This will be awesome." Ritchie said.
"Best of Luck to you my dear, such passion drives me." Brock said as he knelt in front of Lucy and took her hands.
"Who's side are you on!" Serena shouted.
"Come on Lucy." Barbara said.
"Huh, oh right." Lucy said as she tried to hide her red face.
Ash stood on one side of the battlefield while Lucy stood on the other.
The two women who came with Barbara stood behind Lucy as Serena, Brock, and Ritchie stood on the sidelines with their pokemon out.
"The battle between Queen Lucy and Ash Ketchum is about to begin. This will be a two on two battle, either trainer can substitute pokemon. Choose your pokemon." Barbara said.
"Alright this will be a real battle for us. Go Milotic!" Lucy shouted as the large water dragon came out of her pokeball.
"A Milotic, how beautiful." Serena said.
"Alright I choose you, Charizard!" Ash shouted as Charizard flew over and landed in front of him.
"Milotic use Hydropump." Lucy said in a very calm tone.
"Mi lotic!" The Milotic shouted as she opened her Mouth and unleashed massive jet of water at Charizard.
"Charizard use Inferno then into the air." Ash shouted.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared as the flame on his tail grew massive and he unleashed a hurricane of fire. The fire met the water as the two began to cancel each other out, creating a large mist of steam in front of them.
Charizard stayed in the air as Ash felt around for the Milotic's aura.
"Found you." He said as he told Charizard where Milotic was. Charizard's eyes glowed blue as he saw what Ash did.
"Air Slash!" Ash shouted.
Charizard flew in quick and slashed Milotic across her body.
"Gotcha." Ash said.
"Not so fast, aqua tail." Lucy said. Ash didn't noticed another pair of blue eyes as Milotic surrounded her tail in water and smashed it into Charizard's back.
"Grauu." Charizard grunted in pain.
"Oh no." Serena said.
"That had to do a lot of damage." Brock said.
"How did she find him. I know he was close , but the mist was still there." Ash said.
"Milotic use Hydro pump." Lucy said.
"Charizard dodge it and gain some altitude." Ash said. Charizard quickly flew into the air as Milotic opened her mouth and unleashed another colossal jet of water at Charizard.
Charizard's arial speed and agility allowed him to avoid the attack, before turned back to face Milotic.
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted.
Charizard roared as he flew in and unleashed a beam of violet dragon energy right at Milotic.
"Milotic use Dragon tail." Lucy said calmly. Her Milotic raised her tail up as it began to glow violet. As the pulse of dragon energy hit her tail, the energy was absorbed by her tail.
"Aqua tail." Lucy said.
"Charizard look out!" Ash shouted. Milotic raised her now water covered tail and hurled it at the massive Charizard. Despite his immense size, Charizard was narrowly able to avoid the tail before smashed his wings across Milotic's face and flying back into the air.
Despite being hit the face by Charizard's wings, Milotic recovered and looked up at him.
"Lucy is good, no wonder she's a frontier brain." Serena said.
"She's really good, and I never even got to face her Milotic." Ritchie said.
"Yeah she's so awesome." Brock said blushing.
Serena glared at Brock.
"Charizard come in and use a ring of fire." Ash said. Charizard flew down and unleashed a massive jet of fire in a circle around Milotic, getting only closer.
"I know what you're doing, Milotic use Hydro pump."
Milotic opened her mouth and unleashed a massive jet of water right at Charizard.
"I don't get it?" Ritchie asked.
"I think Ash planned on Lucy trying to put out the fire and creating another mist to conceal Charizard. But she didn't fall for it." Brock said.
"Drop!" Ash shouted. Charizard tucked his wings in and dropped straight down , narrowly avoiding the Hydro pump.
Charizard then reopened his wings and flew straight through his own fire.
"Dragon Pulse!" Ash shouted.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared as he blasted Milotic with a beam of Dragon energy.
"Milotic grab his tail."
Before Charizard could get past her, Milotic wrapped her tail around his and dragged him back before throwing him back the way he came.
"Hydro pump." Lucy said.
Milotic opened her mouth and unleashed a massive jet of water that slammed hard into Charizard, filling him with shearing pain.
"Charizard!" Ash shouted.
"PIka!".
"Another direct hit, that's not good." Ritchie said.
"Come on Charizard, you've endured worse!" Serena shouted.
"Char!" Charla shouted at him.
"Char" Zippo said smiling . Charla turned to Zippo and growled at him.
Charizard opened his eyes and regained himself as he growled.
"One more Hydro pump will finish him." Lucy said.
Milotic opened her mouth and unleashed another massive jet of water at Charizard.
"Charizard Inferno right at her!" Ash shouted. Charizard's tail flame turned massive as he opened his mouth and blasted the incoming water with a maelstrom of fire. He continued flying at her as his fire canceled out her water.
"Trying to get in closer are we, I don't think so. Milotic use Aqua tail." Lucy said. Milotic raised her tail and covered it in water as Charizard got closer.
"Seismic toss!" Ash shouted.
As Milotic hurled her tail at Charizard, the fire dragon caught her tail in his arms at a lower section away from the water.
"Gotcha." Ash said as Charizard dragged Milotic high into the air , then did 3 spins before flying straight towards the ground and hurling Milotic into the dirt just before impact.
When the dust cleared Charizard stood over an unconscious Milotic.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared.
""Milotic,is, is unable to battle." Barbara said uneasily.
"Alright we did it!" Ash shouted.
"Char." Charla said blushing.
"Alright Charizard did it." Serena said.
"He's awesome." Ritchie said.
"Milotic return, you did your best. Very impressive Ash, I can see how you were in the NPC. Time to see my main pokemon". Lucy said as she tossed out another pokeball.
None other than her Seviper came out and hissed at Charizard.
"Charizard return, great work out there Charizard. Alright Pikachu I choose you." Ash said as Pikachu leapt down from Ash's shoulder and stood in an aggressive stance in front of him.
" Wow another pikachu facing Seviper." Ritchie said as Sparky's eyes widened.
"Pika!" Sparky shouted cheering on Pikachu.
"Let us begin, Seviper use dig." Lucy said.
The poison snake hissed as he burrowed underground.
"PIkachu get ready to move." Ash said as Pikachu readied himself. Using his enhanced senses, Pikachu felt Seviper moving under him.
Just before Seviper came up, Pikachu leapt out of the way.
"Iron tail!"
"Poison tail." Lucy said. As Seviper burst of the the ground, Pikachu smashed his now metal tail across the snake's face. Not a moment later the snake's own poison tail smashed into Pikachu's stomach.
"They both got hit." Serena said.
"After battling Lucy myself and watcher he battle Ash I think I've got her strategy down. She doesn't seem to use defensive moves or strategies. She seems to go all out attack." Ritchie said.
"I think you're right." Serena said.
"I know isn't she amazing." Brock said blushing. Serena smacked Brock on the back of the head.
Lucy noticed Brock and blushed a little.
"Pikachu Thunder!" Ash shouted.
"Venoshock into Dig." Lucy said.
"Sev iper!" The snake hissed as he opened his mouth and unleashed a bolt of poison energy as Pikachu unleashed a massive bolt of lighting. The two collided, but it was clear that Pikachu's Thunder was overpowering the Venoshock.
Pikachu kept up the intensity, but didn't know that Seviper had burrowed his way underground .
Ash tried to warn Pikachu bit it was too late, Seviper came up under Pikachu and hit him with Dig.
"Oh no, that dig is super effective on Pikachu." Ritchie said.
"Pikachu's taken worse then that." Serena said.
Despite being hit with the super effective attack, Pikachu got right back up.
"PIkachu use Thunder!" Ash shouted.
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he unleashed a bolt of lighting that hit and lit up Seviper.
"Not bad, Seviper use Flamethrower."
"Pikachu Volt tackle!" Ash shouted. Severe opened his mouth and unleashed a jet of fire right at Pikachu as he covered himself with electricity and sprinted at Seviper like a slash of lightning .
Pikachu ran right through the fire, using his electricity to shield himself from the fire.
"Dig." Lucy said. Just before Pikachu could reach Seviper, the poison snake burrowed his way underground.
"After him!" Ash shouted. Pikachu leapt down the hole and after Seviper.
"What?" Lucy said as the others looked just as confused.
Moments later the group burst as Seviper flew out of the ground and several feet into the air with Pikchu climbing out of the hole moments later.
"So powerful." Ritchie said.
"Pika." Sparky said in amazement. Severe hit the ground with electicity sparking around him and his eyes swirly.
"Severe is unable to battle."Sigh" The winner is is Ash." Barbara said reluctantly.
"Great work Pikachu." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said sounding proud.
"Pika Pikachu." Sparky said sounding admiring of Pikachu.
"Seviper return, you did your best." Lucy said. She walked over to Ash and Pikchu, who had climbed back onto Ash's shoulder.
"Well Ash you are as good as you sound, I'm impressed with you. I feel like I should give you a Luck symbol." Lucy said.
"Well I it wasn't an official match so he doesn't get one." Barbara said.
Lucy sighed.
"I should probably get my pokemon back tot he center. I'll meet you back here." Lucy said.
"I'll be waiting for you." Brock said blushing.
"No you won't" Barbara said dragging him away.
"Wow Ash, your pokemon were amazing." Ritchie said.
"Chu." Sparky said to Pikachu.
"Pika." Pikachu said back.
After Lucy returned the group went to a restaurant for dinner.
"This is a nice restaurant. I'm surprised we got in so fast." Serena said.
"I have connections." Lucy said.
Beside the table, the groups pokemon were eating. Sparky and Pikachu were sitting next to each other and having a nice conversation.
"Pika, Pikachu." Sparky said.
"Chu." Pikachu said. Pidgeotto and Absol looked at Pikachu, then Sparky, then back at Pikachu.
"Sol."
"Ott."
Charla was gawking at Charizard as he ate.
"Char." They she said blushing.
"Char." Zippo said growling.
Charizard shook his head upon seeing this.
"Alright are you guys ready to order?" The Waiter asked.
"I'll have the medium ribs." Ash said.
"Me too." Ritchie said. The rest of the group went through their orders before the waiter asked for drinks.
"I'll have tea with lemon." Serena said.
"I'll have a coffee." Brock said.
"I'll have coffee too." Lucy said.
"What kind?".
"Dark roast." They both said.
"We have so much in common." Brock said blushing.
"I'll just have water." Ash and Ritchie said.
"Huh you both ordered the same thing." Serena said.
Ritchie looked down at Sparky and Pikachu, he noticed that the food in their bowls was the same kind of food.
"Wait a minute do you feed him special customized electric food too?" Ritchie asked.
"Yeah, what ingredients do you use?" Ash asked. Ritchie went over all his ingredients.
"Wow those are the same ingredients I use." Ash said.
"Huh look at you two, it's like you have a twin brother." Brock said.
"He does have a twin brother." Serena said.
"Oh." Brock said sweat dropping.
"Still you two have a lot in common, I mean you both have a PIkachu as a starter that you carry on your shoulder. You both have similar pokemon, and you even feed them the same thing." Serena said.
"Not just that, I've battled both of you and I can tell you both have very similar battle styles." Lucy said.
"That's interesting." Brock said.
After finishing dinner the group stood outside the restaurant.
"It was nice meeting you guys, I hope we can meet up again some day." Ritchie said.
"Me too." Ash said.
"Pika." Sparky said.
"PIkachu." Ash's Pikachu said.
Ritchie waved goodbye as he walked off.
"Well we should probably get going too." Barbara said.
"No, fate has brought us together my love. Come with us, please travel Kanto with us." Brock said as he knelt down in front of Lucy and took her hands.
This time Ash and Serena noticed Lucy's face turn red.
"Ash is she?". Serena asked.
" We said back off!" Barbara said as she and the other two woman dragged Brock away.
"Wait." Lucy said as she closed her eyes.
"I still want to travel around, I think I will travel with you." Lucy said.
"What!?" Barbara and the other 2 shouted.
"Yes, if you guys don't mind, I'd like to travel with you." Lucy said as her face turned slightly red.
"Really!" Brock shouted as his face turned red.
"But Lucy." Barbara said.
"I need you guys to take care of the Battle Pike for me. This is what I want to do." Lucy said.
"Come on guys, don't let her go with us please!" Brock screamed as he grabbed Ash and Serena.
"Brock it's ok. Lucy we'd love to have you with us." Ash said.
"Really!" Brock shouted.
"Yeah, Lucy you seem like really nice person. Plus it will be nice having another young woman around I can talk to about woman stuff." Serena said.
"Unless she's like Korrina." Ash joked.
"Yeah." Serena said sweat dropping.
"You better treat her like the queen she is!" Barbara shouted at the group before she and the others walked off.
"So where is our next destination?" Lucy asked.
"Vermillion city, my next gym battle." Ash said.
"Alright to Vermillion city then." Lucy said. Moments later Nurse Joy approached them with two pokeballs in hand.
"Excuse me , miss I have your pokemon."
"Thanks, I was just about to." Lucy started before Brock's face turned red and he knelt down in front of Nurse Joy.
"Such beauty , the stars gaze upon you." Brock said.
Ash and Serena saw Lucy's expression turn from normal to very enraged. Inside Lucy's aura Ash could feel one thing, jealousy.
Lucy came forward and grabbed Brock by his right ear, the dragged him away from her as he grunted in pain.
"That's enough lover boy." Lucy said.
Ash, Serena, and Pikachu all watched in a bit of amazement.
"Well I guess we don't have to worry about that any more." Ash said .
After Lucy took back her pokemon the group made their way back to route 5.
Brock was rubbing the back of his head as he talked with Serena a few feet ahead of Ash and Lucy.
"Hey Lucy, I'm sorry you had to see that. I saw how you blushed around Brock and well." Ash said.
"Ash it's alright. I knew Brock had that problem a minute after I met him." Lucy said.
"Huh?" Ash said as he and Pikachu looked a bit confused.
"It took me just as long to see him for who he was. How kind and honest he is, how much he loves and cares for pokemon. Just as much as I do." Lucy said as she smiled and blushed.
"You really love pokemon don't you." Ash said.
"They are beautiful , amazing , wonderful creatures. I couldn't imagine this world without them." Lucy said.
"Wait how did you know that about Brock instantly, and how did you know Brock was like that around girls before Nurse Joy?" Ask asked.
Lucy turned to Ash.
"I knew the same way you knew." Lucy said as she took off her gloves. Ash and Pikachu's eyes widened as they saw none other than a pair of hidden blade holders with a mega evolution stone embedded in the bottom of her left hidden blade.
"Well how about that. I knew there was something about you." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said smiling.
Author's note: Yup Lucy has joined the group, I hinted at this in the last book in an AN, and she will be filling the ear pulling role, I've actually really wanted that to happen for a while
Expect Ritchie to appear a few more times before the Indigo league.
And yes Lucy is an AG, it is one of the reasons she is attracted to Brock so quickly, she can feel his aura and tell his true nature, and can tell how much he cares for pokemon.
To make it clear what happened with her, Brock, and Nurse Joy at the end , she didn't feel betrayed by Brock, just jealous of how he was attracted to her.
Like I said she already knew he was like that by reading his aura.
Their relationship will progress through the story, I probably won't have them hook up as fast as Ash and Serena did in the last story though.
