Hello. It's been . . . a long ass time since we last saw each other. I would first like to apologize to the person who was offended at my rant against Caleo - it was totally justified, especially since I haven't gotten around to changing my summery to warn about the Leyna in earlier chapters. You were right, I was just in a pissy mood when I wrote that. I have since come to appreciate the couple and am sorry for causing you negative shipping feels.
And to everyone who wondered if I'd completely forgotten about this story. I assure you, I did not. For the most part.
*does a little kowtow*
In other news, I have been very bust with the terrifyingly (for me at least) long story I'm working on but cannot yet start posting, so I started feeling guilty for never posting anything and being away from this story so long . . . therefore, I did this! It's very short, but I hope it brings a smile to your face.
And prompts you to leave a review. Something for you, something for me.
This is unbeta'd, because I didn't want to disturb AbbieDabbie while she's busy with her dick of a driver's ed teacher. :(
I do not own Percy Jackson! But I think you know that already.
"Nico, Will!" Piper and Annabeth stopped the boys as they were walking towards the cabins. "Have you guys seen Percy and Jason? They were supposed to meet us for lunch."
Will and Nico glanced at each other.
"Uh, yeah," Nico said, as they looked away with matching smirks. "They're back at the sword arena. I just finished training with them."
Will snickered.
"Uh huh." Annabeth raised a suspicious eyebrow. "And I suppose you wouldn't know why they are running so very late?"
"Nope," Will said in a choked voice, covering his burgeoning smile with his hands. "Not a clue."
Nico elbowed him in the ribs and they both started past the girls, trying to stifle their giggles.
"They're probably still looking for what little remaining dignity they have left," Nico called back, and Will collapsed in mirth. The two boys stumbled away, half leaning on each other for support as their raucous laughter echoed across the camp.
"Oh, that can't be good," Piper sighed.
They found Percy and Jason lying next to each other in the middle of the dusty arena, Percy on his back, eyes glazed, and Jason on his stomach with his face smushed into the dirt.
"What are you two doing?" Annabeth asked amusedly while Piper knelt worriedly next to Jason.
"We're searching for our dignity," Jason mumbled into the ground in a muffled voice. "Help us look."
Annabeth nudged Percy in the ribs with a toe. He gave a low moan.
"Everything hurts," he gasped. "I have bruises in places bruises should never be."
"I think I blacked out for a while," Jason admitted. "There was a bright light, and I would have gone towards it if my legs didn't feel like they died."
"My world is spinning, bro. Make stop; I want to get off and barf."
"I would, bro, but my face just got married to this lovely patch of dirt."
"Bro . . ."
"Bro . . ."
"I hate to break up this cozy little moment of lame hurt/comfort bromance, but what in the name of the gods happened to you?" asked Annabeth sternly.
Percy reached up with a trembling hand towards her. She sighed and took his hand. He pulled her down beside him.
"Annabeth," he rasped. "Is that you?"
"Yes, Seaweed Brain," she rolled her eyes.
"I need . . . to tell you . . . something important," he whispered. "Come . . . closer . . ."
She leaned in and he put his mouth by her ear, wincing at the pain the small effort had caused.
"You . . . you should never, ever, under any circumstances let that little blonde kid watch while you're training with Nico," he said in a low rush. "Seriously, you will regret it on so many levels. Mostly the physical ones."
" . . . Okay," Annabeth said her mouth twitching. "I assume by 'that little blonde kid' you mean Will Solace, and I assume from his and Nico's satisfied smirks as they came from training that Nico kicked your guys' asses pretty bad."
"He was like a little black and white Italian ninja," Jason whimpered pathetically. "One second he was right in front of us, and the next Will was waving from the stands and he was kicking us in the back of our knees. I don't think that little shit even drew his weapon."
"I'm seriously going to ban Will from ever watching our training sessions ever again," Percy muttered. "No, better yet, ban him from even setting foot in the arena unless it is an absolute emergency and someone is about to die a slow and painful death. And if it slow, than at lest we'll have time to get the person to the infirmary before we have to call him."
"Absolutely. Damn little showoff. Training is supposed to be a time to test your skills against those equal to yours and learn from them, to further better both parties' abilities," Jason said, turning his face to the side and spitting out a mouthful of dirt. "Not a time to get the drop on your bros when they aren't ready, and most certainly not a time to showoff to the cute little blonde healer on the sidelines by putting your sparring partners in the hospital."
"Agreed . . . Wait, Annabeth, don't go, I need your help, I can't move . . ."
Annabeth jerked her head towards the Dining Pavilion. Piper nodded and stood up. They left Percy and Jason flopping around in the dirt, repeatedly trying and failing to prop themselves up amid moan of pain and curses.
"It hurts so bad, bro . . ."
"Bro . . ."
"Bro . . ."
Hopefully there will be more random, short but heartwarming oneshots to come.
