Ch 17: Primeape goes Bananas
It was early in the morning on route 7 and Ash was up with his pokemon doing some training. The area of route 7 they had entered was very rocky with large rocky mountains in the distance.
Pikachu stood in front of him before launching 3 large rocks at him with iron tail.
"Squirtle use Rapid spin!" Ash shouted. Squirtle got into his shell and hurled himself into the air spinning.
As he spun he knocked away the 3 rocks before continuing at Pikachu.
When Pikachu saw this he leapt out of Squirtle path and landed a few feet away. Squirtle came out of his shell and stood proudly.
"Great job Squirtle you knocked away all 3 this time." Ash said.
"Squir!" Squirtle said sounding proud.
"So should we continue or get something to eat?" Ash asked.
"Saur!".
"Free!".
"Ott!" Ash's other pokemon almost shouted, all very tired and very hungry from their long training session.
"Squir." Squirtle said holding his arms across each other. He didn't want to stop yet, but Bulbasaur and the other 2 were glaring at him.
Bulbasaur let out his vines and tried to snatch Squirtle's shades off his face. When Squirtle saw this he quickly grabbed the vines and held them apart.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted, telling Bulbasaur to stay away from his shades.
The two glared and growled at each other until Charizard got in between them and growled at them both.
"That's enough you two. I think some food and rest would do you guys some good." Ash said.
"Saur!" Bulbasaur said sounding victorious.
"Squirtle." Squirt said sounding disappointed.
Elsewhere Serena was practicing with her pokemon.
"Alright Nidoran Toxic spikes into Bite." Serena said.
Nidoran unleashed a series of shining spikes into the air before leaping up and catching a few in her mouth. She then bit down hard and hurled them into the ground, making a display. Nidoran came down and smashed into the spikes, causing them to smash into dozens of sparkling pieces that flew around her.
"Eevee!" Eevee said in amazement as he watched the routine.
"I'm glad you like it Eevee, when your old enough we'll train you to perform." Serena said.
"Eeve!".
"Alright guys how about some breakfast?" Serena asked her pokemon.
"Char."
"Ni."
"Sol." The others said nodding.
Serena and her pokemon walked over to Brock and Lucy who were sitting around a fire with their pokemon.
"So Brock, have you ever considered going to a school for pokemon breeding?" Lucy asked.
"Well the idea has passed my mind, but the thing is I like more hands on learning. Don't get me wrong, reading and studying is very important. It's how I learned half the things I know about pokemon breeding. But traveling around like this and working hands on is what I love more. Maybe be an apprentice to a good breeder." Brock said.
"That seems like a good approach to it. That's how most guardian pokemon doctors learn how to take care of pokemon." Lucy said.
"Really." Brock said.
"Yeah, they do focus more of their aura training on healing, but every one I know is still a certified pokemon doctor." Lucy said.
"Really." Brock said.
"You know if you wanted to, I could talk to a guardian doctor and see if they'd be willing to mentor you." Lucy said blushing a little.
"Really, you'd do that." Brock said.
"Yeah, it's no problem." Lucy said.
Brock's face turned red before he came over and took her hands.
"You're so amazing!" Brock said as Lucy's face turned redder.
Moments later Serena and her pokemon came into the camp.
"Morning Serena." Lucy said.
"Morning Lucy, Brock." Serena said.
"How is Eevee doing?" Lucy asked.
" He's going great, he was still asleep when I first let him out of his pokeball and I already gave him his morning pecha and oran berry like you suggested Brock." Serena said.
"Good, that will help him grow and keep him from getting sick." Brock said.
Serena could see Brock was cooking something when Ash and his pokemon came back to the camp.
"Morning Ash, how did training go?" Serena asked.
"It went well, Squirtle did awesome." Ash said.
"Squirt." Squirtle said standing proudly.
"Saur."
"Ott." Bulbasaur and Pidgeotto said sweat dropping.
"Well if your pokemon were training hard I have the perfect thing for them." Brock said before he stood up and revealed what he had been making.
"My world famous super nutritious and delicious pokemon rice balls!" Brock shouted as he revealed several small balls of rice held together with black outsides.
"World famous." Ash started.
"Rice balls." Serena finished as they both sweat dropped.
"These are extremely healthy for pokemon especially in post workout." Brock said before he handed one to each of the pokemon.
Pikachu sniffed the rice ball before taking a bite.
"Chu!" He said as he smiled and ate more.
"Pikachu seems to like it." Ash said.
Eevee also took a bite and quickly smiled.
"Eevee!".
Seviper and Milotic did the same with Charla, Absol, Nidoran , and Ash's pokemon.
"Wow Brock they love them." Lucy said.
"A pokemon breeder should know how to make a packmen's food both nutritious and delicious." Brock said.
"Squir." Squirtle said as he took another bite of his rice ball.
Moments later Squirtle heard something rustling in the bushes and turned to it.
"Squir?" he asked.
That was when a pokemon leapt out of the bush and stood in front of the group.
It was a bipedal Pokémon with a round body covered in whitish, shaggy fur. Its nose was similar to a pig's snout, and it had red eyes and triangular ears with brown insides. His hands, two-toed feet, and the tip of its curved, prehensile tail was brown.
"What is that?" Serena asked as she opened her pokedex.
"Mankey the pig monkey pokemon, an agile Pokemon that lives in trees. It angers easily and will not hesitate to attack anything."
Serena and the others noticed that the mankey seemed very calm with a happy expression on his face.
"That's weird he seems so calm." Serena said.
Ash and Lucy could feel the Mankey's aura was a bit strange. Almost as if it had two sides.
The Mankey walked up to Brock and sniffed one of his rice balls.
"I think he wants one." Ash said.
"Well I'd love to see how much a wild pokemon would like them." Brock said as he handed him a rice ball.
The Mankey opened his mouth and ate the rice ball looking and sounding very happy.
"Mankey."
"He likes it, success!" Brock shouted.
Mankey turned to Squirtle and who hadn't finished his yet.
"Mankey." He said.
"Squir? Squirtle." Squirtle said shaking his head.
Not a moment later the Mankey swiped the rice ball from Squirtle and scarfed it down.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted.
"Hey Mankey that wasn't very nice." Ash said.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted before he rammed his shoulders into Mankey knocking him onto his back.
Moments later Mankey jumped up with a completely different expression on his face. Ash and Lucy could feel his calm and tranquil aura had transformed into an aggressive rage.
His eyes now made him look like he could kill in an instant.
"Uh oh." Serena said as she picked up Eevee and held him away from Mankey.
"Squir?" Squirtle said sweat dropping.
"Mankey!" The Mankey roared before jumping onto Squirtle and unleashed a relentless furry of fighting type attacks.
"Squirtle!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
When the dust cleared Mankey stood on top of Squirtle who was covered in black marks and bruises.
"Squir." He said sounding sore.
Mankey reached down and took Squirtle's shades off his face before putting them on himself.
"He took his shades." Lucy said.
"Squir?" Squirtle said before he realized what Mankey had just done.
"Squir! Squirtle!" He shouted as he got up and shouted at Mankey to give him back his shades.
Mankey simply turned and ran off.
"Squirtle!" He shouted.
"That was one angry pokemon." Serena said.
"Squir." Squirtle said as he lowered his head and looked sad.
"Squirtle are you ok?" Ash asked.
"Squir." Squirtle said sounding sad.
Ash could feel from their aura connection that Squirtle's pride was hurt far worse than his body. Apparently loosing his shades was a big deal.
Ash connected with Squirtle's aura. He already knew Squirtle had been abandoned by his trainer, but Squirtle explained how he was beaten by other wild pokemon a lot and was close to starving. That was when he found those shades, after find them he saw them as a sign of strength and determination. From that day he trained hard and beat other wild pokemon, getting the food he needed. Not long after that he founded the Squirtle squad. "So that's why he cares so much about the shades." Ash said.
"Why do the shades matter to him that much?" Serena asked.
Ash explained to the others what Squirtle explained to him from their aura connection.
"Well I can see why they mean so much to him. To have his symbol of pride and leadership just taken away from him in an instant can't be easy on him." Lucy said.
"Well we're not going to stand for this, Squirtle we're going to get your shades back!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!"
Squirtle raised his head and looked up at Ash.
"Squirtle!" He shouted looking determined.
After the the group packed up their stuff they tried to follow the Mankey's trail. Ash and Lucy were using their aura vision for any signs of his aura.
"Mankey sure is a fast pokemon, I can't see any traces of his aura." Lucy said.
"He has to be around here somewhere." Ash said.
"Squir." Squirtle said sounding sad.
"Pika." Pikachu said patting Squirtle's back and telling him they'd find his shades.
"Squirtle."
"Maybe an arial view would help. Pidgeotto, Charizard fly up and see if you can find him." Ash said.
Charizard and Pidgeotto nodded. They both took off into the air and began scanning the area for the Mankey.
Several minutes later Charizard saw something below him. It was hard to make out but it looked like some kind of fight was going on.
He flew in lower and saw what was going on and saw it was none other than the Mankey he was looking for. The Mankey was attacking a pair of young trainers and their pokemon.
He quickly sent an aura message to Ash telling him where Mankey was.
On the ground Mankey used Low kick and Karate chop on a Diglett and Doduo. The two pokemon were hurled back at their trainers.
"What did we do to that Mankey?" one of the trainers said as he rubbed the bump on his head.
"I don't know but we should run." The other trainer said.
The Mankey turned to the trainers and their pokemon with his arms raised.
"Oh no." The first trainer said as he , his friend, and their pokemon started shaking.
Just before the Mankey could attack, Charizard slammed into the ground between Mankey and the trainers.
Mankey looked up at Charizard who was growling at him and let out a puff of smoke.
"A Charizard?" One of the trainers said sounding confused.
"Who cares he saved us." The other trainer said. Despite the size difference, the Mankey leapt up and tried to use Karate chop on Charizard. Charizard smashed his wings into Mankey as fast as Pikachu sprinted. Mankey was hurled back away from Charizard.
"We're saved." The other trainer said.
The Mankey got up slowly backed up and away from Charizard.
"Mankey." He said as a sweat drop came down from his face.
Moments later he heard something else and turned to see Ash with the rest of the group close behind.
"There he is!" Brock shouted.
"Look other trainers!" One of the hurt trainers said.
Squirtle saw his shades on Mankey's face and stepped up.
"Squirtle!" He shouted demanding his shades back.
"Mankey!" Mankey shouted back telling Squirtle to come and take them.
"Squir." He said nervously. He had never had a serious battle without his shades in years.
"Come on Squirtle we can do this together." Ash said as Squirtle looked up at his trainer.
"I'll be right beside you" Ash said. Squirtle felt his aura bond with Ash strengthen and it made him feel much less nervous as he felt Ash's presence beside him.
He took a deep breath and then stepped up to face Mankey.
That was when Serena, Lucy, and Brock noticed the two younger trainers on the ground with their pokemon behind Charizard.
"Wait who are they?" Brock asked.
"I don't know but I think Charizard saved their lives." Serena said as she sweat dropped with Lucy and Brock.
"That Mankey is crazy!" One of the trainers shouted.
"We were just passing by when it ran at us and attacked us and our pokemon for no reason!" The other trainer shouted.
"Well don't worry, Ash and Squirtle will take care of him." Serena said.
"Alright Squirtle start out with a Water gun!" Ash shouted.
"Squir!" Squirtle shouted as he opened his mouth and unleashed a massive jet of water at the Mankey.
Just before it could hit, the Mankey leapt up and over the Water gun before coming down at Squirtle with a Karate chop.
"Squirtle forward into Water gun." Squirtle slid across the ground on the back of his shell and unleashed a second water gun right where Mankey was going to be.
In the air Mankey was unable to avoid the attack and was hit dead on.
"Mankey!" He shouted as the water gun carried him across the air and into the ground.
"Yes direct hit." Ash said.
"Squir!". The Mankey leapt back up looking even madder than he did before.
"Mankey!" Mankey shouted as he hurled himself right at Squirtle with Low kick.
"Squirtle use Rapid spin." Ash said. Squirtle went inside his shell and hurled himself at Mankey just like he had in training. He avoided Mankey's leg and hit him in the center of his body, hurling the pig monkey back.
"Yes another direct hit." Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Squir."
"Squirtle is doing well." Serena said.
"I guess he's going to get his shades back." Brock said.
The Mankey leapt back up now with a cross shaped frustration symbol on his forehead before the rest of his face turned red and his eyes turned white.
"Mankey!" He roared before charging at Mankey with a berzerking rage.
Ash waited until Mankey got close enough and his arms were apart.
"Squirtle use Skull Bash!" Ash shouted.
Squirtle lowered his head and then unleashed himself forward right into Mankey's chest, hurling him back and into a rock.
"Alright we did it!" Ash shouted.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted happy he would soon have his shades back.
Just when it seemed like the battle was over , something else happened.
"What the?" Ash said as he saw the Mankey begin to glow white and grow bigger.
"Oh no." Ash said as the other's eyes widened. When the glowing stopped the Mankey was muck bigger than it was before. It's arms and legs were no longer furry but brown and covered in muscles with bands around the wrists and ankles.
"He evolved." Ash said as he opened his pokedex.
"Primeape the Pig Monkey is always outrageously furious . If it gives chase , it will tenaciously track the target no matter how far."
"That's not good." Lucy said.
"Squirtle can still beat him." Serena said.
"Squir." Squirtle said nervously.
The Primeape sprinted at Squirtle faster than he had before.
"Water gun!" Ash shouted. Squirtle opened his mouth and unleashed a powerful jet of water that hit Primeape dead on. However, it didn't stop him. Primeape continued sprinting through until he reached Squirtle and unleashed a relentless barrage of punches and kicks.
"He's using Thrash!" Lucy shouted.
"Squirtle quick into your shell!" Ash shouted. Squirtle tried to get inside his shell, but as soon as he did Primeape smashed his fist into the shell, sending Squirtle flying into the air. Primeape leapt up and smashed his fist into the top of the shell, plowing Squirtle into the ground.
"Squirtle!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu said growling as he sparked his cheeks. Before Primeape could come at Squirtle again Pikachu got in between him and Squirtle.
Pimeape looked into Pikachu's eyes then ran off faster than he did as a Mankey."
"He's gone." Serena said.
Squirtle came out of his shell looking even more defeated than he had before. He was just starting to feel better when Primeape reminded him just how bad he was without his shades.
Why did he think he could win without them.
Ash walked over and lifted him up.
"Squirtle are you ok?" He asked as Squirtle gave a sad sigh.
"Squir."
"Poor Squirtle." Serena said.
Brock and Lucy went over to help up the other two trainers and their pokemon.
"Thanks for saving us from that crazy Primeape." The first trainer said.
"So who are you guys anyway?" Lucy asked.
"I'm Michael." The trainer with the Diglett said.
"I'm Corey." The trainer with the Doduo.
"I'm Brock, this is Lucy."
"I'm Ash and this is Serena."
"Nice to meet you both, but we actually need to get out pokemon to a center." Michael said.
"Yeah that Primeape did a number on them." Corey said. He and Michael returned their pokemon before heading down the road.
"Well I guess this means we have to find Primeape again." Ash said.
"Squir." Squirtle said shaking his head.
"What?" Ash said as he and the others turned to Squirtle.
"Squir Squirtle." Squirtle said sounding very depressed.
"You don't want to go after primeape any more , but he has your shades." Ash said.
"Squir." Squirtle said as his eyes began to tear up.
"Squirtle!" He shouted before running off crying.
"Squirtle come back here!" Ash shouted as he and Pikachu went after him.
"Ash." Serena started before Lucy grabbed her shoulder.
"Let him go Serena, it's best he takes care of this himself." Lucy said. Serena turned to Lucy.
"With a problem like this a pokemon responds best when it's their trainer who lifts them up. The less distractions Ash has the better." Lucy said.
Serena turned back to Ash.
"I hope he can help Squirtle." Serena said.
"Of course he will, it's Ash." Brock said.
Elsewhere Squirtle was sitting against a rock with tears still coming across his face.
"Squir." He said.
Moments later he heard something on the rock above him.
He looked up and saw Pikachu standing there above him.
"Pika."
"Squir." Squirtle said.
"Squirtle, there you are." Ash said as he stepped out and in front of Squirtle.
When Squirtle saw Ash he held his head down.
"Squir." He said.
"Squirtle, I know loosing can be hard but it's part of growing." Ash said.
"Squir." Squirtle said. Ash felt him saying that what had just happened with Primeape was proof of what he feared. He thought just maybe he could battle well without his shades, and just when it seemed like he could he was snapped back to reality.
"Squir." Squirtle said as more tears came across his face. He claimed that he would never be able to beat Primeape without his shades and now he knew he couldn't beat anyone without his shades. That he was just as weak as he was when his first trainer abandoned him.
"Squirtle!" Ash said sternly as he grabbed Squirtle by his shoulders and looked him in the eyes.
"You can't believe that about yourself! You just can't! When things were hard for you, it wasn't the shades who toughened up and survived , it was you! It wasn't the shades that founded the Squirtle squad and put out all those fires it was you! It wasn't the shades that have been training like a champion these last few weeks, it was you!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted, backing Ash up.
"Squir." Squirtle said.
"I know those shades mean a lot to you, but their just plastic. They didn't allow you to be a stronger pokemon. They just made your more confident, but you don't need them. You're an amazing pokemon with or without them. You just need to remember that." Ash said.
"Squir." Squirtle said as he contemplated what Ash said.
"Squirtle." He said as he raised his head up and looked at the sky.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted as he gave a determined expression.
"Alright, now what do you say. Want to have a rematch with Primeape?" Ash asked.
"Squir!" Squirtle shouted as he held his arms up.
A few minutes later Ash met up with the rest of the group.
"Alright Charizard , Pidgeotto let's find Mankey." Ash said.
"Grauu."
"Otto!". They shouted before taking off and soaring high into the air.
"Let's go." Ash said.
As the group continued searching on the ground Serena and the others noticed how much more confident Squirtle looked.
"Wow Ash , you completely turned him around. What did you say to him?" Serena asked.
"I told Squirtle exactly what he needed to hear." Ash said.
"Which was?" Brock asked.
"I reminded him that he was the one who accomplished everything that he's done in his life, and not his shades. Once he realized that, he regained his confidence." Ash said.
"I'll tell you one thing Ash, you're great with pokemon." Lucy said.
Elsewhere in the sky Pidgeotto was scanning the area for any signs of Primeape.
A few minutes later he saw something below him. He flew in closer and saw it was none other than Primeape attacking another trainer and his pokemon.
"Otto." He said as he flew in and got a closer look.
On the ground Primeape was smashing his fists into a Sandslash, as well as his trainer beside him. After they were hurled back, the Sandslash groaned.
"What did we ever do to you Primeape?" The trainer asked.
"Ape!" Primeape roared
Pidgeotto quickly sent Ash an aura message telling him where Primeape was.
"Please just leave us alone." The trainer said as he held his arms in front of him and his Sandslash.
"Ape!" Primeape shouted as he held his arms up and at the trainer.
"Oh no." He said as he tried to cover his Sandslash's body with his own.
Just before Primeape could attack, Pidgeotto flew in and unleashed a gust of wind that carried Primeape back.
"Otto!" Pidgeotto shouted.
"Ape!".
The trainer got up and saw Pidgeotto in front of him.
"A Pidgeotto?" He asked sounding confused.
Moments later Squirtle came running forward with Ash close behind.
"There you are Primeape." Ash said.
"Squir!" Squirtle shouted.
Primeape turned to Squirtle with the shades still on his face.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted claiming he would defeat him.
"Ape!" Primeape shouted as he motioned Squirtle to bring it on with his hand.
"Come on Squirtle!" Serena shouted.
"Beat him!" Brock shouted.
Squirtle and Primeape stared agreeable at each other as they stood in battle stances across from each other.
"Ok what's going on?" The other trainer said as his Sandslash looked very confused.
"It's already we've gone through this before, you're going to be ok." Brock said.
"You've gone through this before?" The trainer asked.
"Yeah it's been a rather interesting day so far." Lucy said sweat dropping.
"Alright Squirtle are you ready to fight?" Ash asked.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle shouted sounding very determined as he faced Primeape.
"Alright let's do this!" Ash shouted.
Primeape charged right at Squirtle with his arms raised ready to use Karate chop.
"Squirtle use Water gun!" Ash shouted.
"Squir!" Squirtle shouted as he opened his mouth an unleashed a powerful jet of water right at Primeape. Just like last time, the water hit Primeape and slowed him down, but didn't stop him.
Primeape got closer and closer to Squirtle until he was within arms reach.
"Rapid spin!" Ash shouted. Squirtle got into his shell and hurled himself at Primeape aiming low. Primeape hurled his arms at Squirtle , but missed as Squirtle's shell smashed into Primeape's lower body. Primeape's lower body was pushed back as his upper body flew forward and rolled across the ground.
"He got him!" Serena said.
Not a moment later Primeape caught himself and propelled back at Squirtle as he came out of his shell and smashed his foot into Squirtle's chest, hurling him back.
"Looks like Primeape isn't giving up so easily." Brock said.
Squirtle backflipped and landed on his feet before getting back into an aggressive stance.
The Primeape charged right at Squirtle before unleashed a Low Kick at Squirtle.
"Squirtle use Tackle on his upper body." Ash said. Before Primeape could hit him, Squirtle leapt up and hit his upper body, making Primeape come forward and onto his back.
Primeape quickly propelled himself up and smashed the back of Squirtle's shell with Karate chop. Hurling Squirtle into the ground.
Squirtle was able to get on his back in time to see Primeape standing over him.
Primeape planted his foot onto Squirtles chest keep him from moving.
He then raised his arms to use Karate chop.
"Water gun!" Ash shouted.
Squirtle opened his mouth and blasted Primeape in the face with a powerful jet of water.
Primeape tried to cover his face as the power of the water crashed against him. Finally he used his feet to force Squirtle up before grabbing him with his offhand and hurling Squirtle high into the air with Seismic toss.
"Squirtle withdraw!" Ash shouted. Squirtle quickly got into his shell as Primeape leapt up and smashed the shell back into the earth with Karate chop.
Squirtle hit the ground hard and saw Primeape coming back at him.
"Come on Squirtle you're doing good!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
Squirtle got up and looked at Primeape.
Despite his best efforts the Primeape was still coming hard. But he knew he couldn't give up, he had done so much and done so much without his shades. He wasn't going to give up, not now or ever.
"Squir!" he shouted before he started to glow white and grow.
"No way." Ash said.
"He's." Brock started.
Moments later Squirtle stopped glowing and revealed his new form. He was now bigger and taller with indigo blue skin. He had brown eyes, a dark blue streak on each cheek, and two sharp teeth protruding from his upper jaw. He had three clawed fingers and pointed toes. Bluish white fur covered his long ears and tail. A brown shell with a pale yellow underside encases his body. A thick, white rim separated the upper and lower halves of the shell.
"Tortle." He said in a deeper voice.
"Squirtle, you evolved , so quickly!" Ash said.
"Pika!".
"What is he?" Serena asked as she opened her pokedex.
"Wartortle, the Turtle Pokemon. . The evolved form of Squirtle. A highly sought after Pokémon because its long fur-covered tail is said to bring good luck."
"Wow, he already evolved?" Brock said.
"Keep in mind he was pretty strong before Ash got him, plus once a guardian opens up an aura connection with their pokemon they both grow much faster than they would have before." Lucy said.
"Tortle." Wartortle said smiling as he looked at Primeape. Despite the fact that his opponent has just evolved , Primeape wasn't afraid. He charged right at Wartortle, ready to Thrash him.
"Wartortle , use Water gun!" Ash shouted.
"Tortle!" Wartortle shouted as he opened his mouth and unleashed a jet of water larger than any he had ever launched before.
"Ape!" Primeape shouted as the water forced him backwards.
"Yeah go Wartortle!" Serena shouted.
The Primeape's face turned red as he got madder and leapt up and over the water. He came down at Wartortle with his foot held out.
"Rapid spin!". Wartortle got into his now larger shell and hurled himself at Primeape. The massive pig monkey was hit in the center of his chest and hurled back into the ground as Squirtle came out of his shell and landed on his feet.
"Tortle." He said smiling.
"He's doing great!" Brock said.
"Ape!" Primeape shouted as his face turned red. He charged at Wartortle like a wild freight train.
"Wartortle ready yourself." Ash said. Wartortle readied his stance and held his tail up.
Before Ash could call out a command, Wartortle covered his tail in water then slammed it into Primeape's chest as hard as he could. Primeape was hurled back several feet before slamming hard into the ground.
"Aqua tail? He learned Aqua tail!" Ash shouted.
"Geez he's just full of surprises today." Brock said.
"Skull Bash!" Ash shouted.
"War." Wartortle started as he lowered his head.
"Tortle!"Wartortle shouted as he hurled himself forward at Primeape who had just gotten up onto his feet.
He looked up just in time to see Wartortle smash into his stomach and hurl him back again. As Wartortle hit Primeape the shades flew off of his face and landed safely on the ground.
"Ape!".
"Alright." Ash said as he reached into his bag and took out a pokeball.
"Pokeball go!" He shouted as he hurled the pokeball forward. The Pokeball soared through the air and hit Primeape in the head.
"Huh?" Serena, Brock, and Lucy said.
Primeape was sent inside the pokeball and it began to shake as Primeape tried to break free.
Ash watched closely for almost a minute before the pokeball sparkled revealing Primeape was caught.
"Alright! I caught a Primeape!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Tortle!".
Moments later the pokeball vanished, transported to Oak's lab.
"Ash why did you catch the Primeape?" Serena asked.
"I thought it best to not leave him here where he'd just attack people." Ash said.
"Thank you for that." The other trainer said as he got up and left with his Sandslash.
Wartortle noticed his shades on the ground and walked over to them. He picked them up and starred at them for several seconds.
"Tortle." he said to himself. He then turned to Ash and offered them to him.
"Tortle." He said.
Ash heard what Wartortle had just told him through their aura connection.
"Wow, he wants me to give them back to Primeape the next time I see him." Ash said.
"What?" The other 3 said.
"After all this trouble he went through to get them back." Brock said.
"Tortle."
"He says that I made him realize he had never needed them to be strong." Ash said before he knelt down in front of Wartortle.
"I'm proud of you Wartortle, you were feeling weak but powered through it and proved that you are stronger than you could have ever imagined." Ash said.
"Pika Pikachu." Pikachu said also congratulating him.
"Tortle." Wartortle said as he hugged Ash.
"Well, I'm proud of you both." Serena said.
Ash got up and turned to the others.
"Well now that that's taken care of , what say we continue on to Celadon city." Ash said.
"Sounds good." Brock said.
"Alright let's go." Ash said.
Later that night in the Vermillion city Army base A pair of soldiers escorted Proton to his cell.
"Fine rocket scum, if you don't feel like talking today you can sit in your cell some more." The Corporal said.
Moments later after they left the same shoulder shouted.
"Light out!" Before slamming the cell block door shut.
Proton sighed before sitting on his bed bunk and holding his temples.
"It's alright Proton, the army can't torture you, plus they can only keep you here so long before they have to give you a proper trial. I'll get a good lawyer, or Giovanni will send someone to break me out." Proton said before he heard something.
It sounded like sparks and fizzing. He looked up at the security camera and saw the wires had been cut.
"Huh?" He said. He then look to the front of the cell and saw none other than Seir standing in front of his cell.
"Yahh!" He said as he lurched back.
"Dam it Seir, you scared me. It's about dam time Giovanni sent someone to rescue me." Proton said.
Seir thrusted his right hidden blade into the lock , tearing it apart before opening the cell.
"Finally, let's get out of." Proton started before Seir thrusted his right hidden blade into Proton's stomach.
He grunted as he looked down at the blade then back up at Seir. Seir's eyes had a look of rage and hate in them as he twisted his wrist and his blade then covered Proton's mouth to keep him from screaming.
Seir then ripped his hidden blade out of Proton's stomach before plunging it into his chest.
Proton convulsed again before Seir ripped his hidden blade out and slammed his foot into Proton's chest. Proton was hurled against the wall before Seir slammed his right forearm into his throat. Seir then looked into Proton's eyes as he slowly slid his left hidden blade into Proton's throat.
The rocket executive continued to struggle before being still. Seir retracted his hidden blade and took a deep breath before walking out of the cell.
Two minutes later the Corporal and the other soldiers came back in.
"What the hell's going on, how did the camera go out?" The Corporal asked as he looked up at the camera.
"Oh my god!" The other soldier shouted. The Corporal turned to Proton's cell and saw the mess.
"Intruder!" He shouted before they both drew their pistols.
"We need to alert the base!".
Author's note:
Before anyone says "He evolved to soon!" Keep in mind in the anime Ash caught Goomy in episode 55 and he evolves into Goodra in episode 65….That's ten episodes.
So with that being said expect other pokemon Ash has to evolve too.
