A/N: I feel like I'm losing some of you with the length of this story, so I took a break and wrote Release the Hounds,,, so review and say hey! if you're still with me.

I am going to write a few more chapters before I wrap it up and start on the 3rd instalment... what it's about you will have to wait but it (in some way) will continue on from the end!

I could also use a proof reader for a personal project. PM me if you're interested!

Kain was sat alone in the yard.

"Try and find something to open this gate with." He muttered to himself, repeating Coulson's words.

He kicked his way around the small yard looking, albeit not very hard, for something to open the gate with. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something move. Spinning quickly to fend off any attack, he saw it. One of the time cans he had kicked was floating in the air.

"Keep calm." Kain thought repeatedly to himself as other items were starting to float off the ground.

Kain shrank back into the shadows and watched the floating show. The objects spun around each other, over and under each other and away from each other.

Suddenly the tin roof Kain had kicked over sprung to life and flew straight at him.

Kain screamed and dropped to the floor.

As suddenly as it started, everything stopped and fell to the floor with a clatter.

Kain remained on the floor in the fetal position, trembling from head to toe.

"The electricity signal is getting stronger." Fitz called from the front of the group.

"Any idea what's causing it?" Coulson asked

"Not yet!"

"Ok. Everyone, stay alert. This could turn messy at any point." Coulson warned them.

He didn't need to warn them. When the gate had slammed shut behind them, Ward, May, Skye and Coulson, through their training, had become hyper aware of their surroundings. They noticed every sigh of the wind and every groan of metal.

Amber, still fairly inexperienced, wasn't as hyper aware and tripped over a crate in the dying light. She landed awkwardly and from Skye's perspective, painfully.

"You ok?" Coulson asked her. The last thing he needed was to put her back in the hospital.

"Yeah. I'm fine. " Amber answered letting May haul her to her feet.

"You sure?"

"Good to go!" Amber answered brightly, inspecting her elbow for cuts.

"Sorry to interrupt, but our data is indicating that the source of the electricity is right around this corner." Simmons told them all in a hushed voice.

Ward and May made their way to the front of the group and peeked around the corner to see what they were dealing with. As their relaxed both their bodies and their breathing they walked around the corner. Fitz and Simmons followed, then Coulson, Skye and May.

"Woah!" Fitz exclaimed in delight.

"That's huge!" Simmons cried.

"Erm... guy's. What is it?" Ward asked.

"It's an electro magnet." Fitz answered.

"Why is there an electro magnet?" Amber asked.

"I suspect this whole 'things floating in the air' is a scam. Simmons told her.

"That still doesn't explain why there is a gigantic electro magnet here."

"The electro magnet created the electrically charged static particles that we followed here. They created the anomalous result."

"Can an electro magnet cause things to float in the air?" Coulson asked.

"No. But this could!"

They could hear Ward's voice, but they couldn't see him. That's when they noticed Skye had gone too.

"MARCO?" yelled May

"Polo!" Skye replied.

May led the team in search of the two agents. When they found them they were standing in front of a bunch of wires.

"What on earth?" Coulson asked him. Clearly Ward and Skye had figured out what these wires did.

"Watch!"

As Ward and Skye ran the thin wires through their fingers they could see, on a nearby monitor objects start floating.

Amber giggled as she watched the show. They could all see Kain backup to the wall.

"Let me have a go!" Amber said.

Ward handed her a wire, which she pulled gently on. It floated the piece of roof she had seen Kain kick earlier.

Shooting Ward a devil grin she made the roof fly towards Kain.

"That's enough!" Coulson said as he watched Kain scream, drop to the floor and cower.

Ward, Skye and Amber all let go of the strings and they saw every object that was floating fall to the ground.

"Well that's the mystery behind the 0-8-4 explained." May said.

"Come on. We better go and check on Kain." Coulson said, leading them back out into the alleyway.

They made their way back to the gate quicker than they had on the way as they now knew there was no danger. When they got to the gate they found it was still stuck. To make matters worse – there was no handle!

"Kain?" Coulson shouted.

There was no response.

"Kain?" Coulson shouted again, a little louder this time.

Coulson took his gun out of his holster.

"No Coulson Don't!" Fitz screamed as he pointed the gun at the gate and pulled the trigger.

There were screams from Skye, Simmons and Amber as the bullet hit the gate and flew straight back at them and around the alley.

Kain was still lying on the floor trembling. He thought he heard some muffled shouting, but he was terrified and thought he was imagining it.

Thats when he heard the gun shot and the screams.

Hesitantly he got to his feet and walked over to the gate. He put his ear up to it and listened.

Hearing that it was Coulson and the others he lowered his guard and looked for something to break the lock. He found a fire extinguisher and froze the lock with the gas before smashing it with the base.

He stood back and the gate swung open. Coulson, May, Fitz-Simmons, Skye, Ward and Amber all walked out of the alleyway laughing and joking.

"It's all clear. We're good to go." Coulson told Kain.

"Really? While you were gone things started floating. One of them came straight at me."

"We know. We saw." Skye muttered under her breath to Ward.

"It's ok. There is no 0-8-4. We are no longer needed." Coulson repeated.

"But... But..." Kain protested, pointing at the carnage.

"It's a pulley string system." Amber told him.

"You mean all of those things that were moving. The roof that came flying at me. That was you guys?" Kain asked in disbelief.

"Whatever makes you say that?" Coulson asked him in a tone that was not convincing at all.
