Thank you so much for your response on the first three chapters! I am really glad you liked the first three chapters and I hope you will like this one as well. Please tell me what you think after!
''We really need to find out what is wrong with him.'' Cameron said as they looked inside the room, Chase hardly moving in the bed. He was receiving the transplant now and they kept waiting now, waiting for the platelets to strengthen him so they could give him the bone marrow biopsy.
Foreman was standing beside her and he also looked at his coworker. He didn't like Chase, but he also felt bad for the young man in the bed. House joined them, rubbing over his arm as it was still a little sore from the donation.
''how much longer?''
''About 15 minutes.'' Foreman said. ''Half an hour before we start the biopsy.''
House nodded slowly. Chase started to get paler and paler and House squinted.
''Is he developing a rash?''
Cameron moved closer to the window and looked as well
''I think that is just from the sweating.'' Foreman said and they walked back to the office, waited there.
''I have no idea what is wrong with him but we have to cure him.'' Cameron sighed then.
''Yes, that is what we are trying too.'' Foreman sighed as he couldn't deal with Cameron's pity. He wanted to make Chase better too and he felt bad for him but somehow Chase's sickness still didn't make him like him enough to actually pity him.
''Time to do the biopsy.'' Foreman said then and he and Cameron looked away. House took his ball and started to throw the ball against the wall, trying to think so hard about a diagnosis and even more, hoping he would get an epiphany soon.
Meanwhile, Foreman and Cameron had taken Chase to an examination room and Chase tried not to think about the fact he was in a hospital gown that was open on the back and also showed his bare back and underwear. He knew it was awkward for their patients but he felt even more awkward because it were his co-workers that had to see him like this.
''Ouch!'' Chase said then.
''Sorry, sedation.''
''You should have warned him!'' Cameron said.
''He knew it was coming.'' Foreman said then and Chase just closed his eyes, trying to ignore whatever upset feelings he had towards Foreman now.
''I am going to do the biopsy now.'' Foreman said then after testing if the sedation had worked.
''You can hold my hand.'' Cameron offered.
''I don't want to hold your hand.'' Chase said then because Cameron was holding her hand out. He knew it was going to hurt but he just greeted his teeth.
''Are you going to do it or what?'' He said then and finally Foreman
Cameron put her hand on his shoulder and he wanted to hit it away but he couldn't even find the power for it, especially not because he was already struggling with the pain of the biopsy needle. He gritted his teeth even more and tried to keep his tears from going because he didn't want to look weak in front of his coworkers. But he wanted to cry, not because of the bone marrow biopsy but because he was scared. Because he felt embarrassed that he was the patient now instead of the doctor.
''Got it.'' Foreman said then and Chase was relieved then the needle finally went out. Cameron put pressure on the small hole to stop the bleeding.
''I think the bleeding is slowly stopping.'' She said then and Chase sighed relieved as she put a plaster over it. She left the room then, taking the biopsy therapy away as Foreman took him back to his room.
''I am sick and still you are being an ass to me. Do you really hate me that much?''
''I don't hate you, but I don't like you. But I do want you to get better,'' Foreman said then and Chase shook his head.
Foreman left then and Chase slept for a few minutes before House came walking, loudly.
''They are looking at your bone marrow now. ''
''What aren't you?''
''Figured you could use some company while you are waiting. Besides, I need a place to watch general hospital and before I had to sneak in some coma patients room but now I have somebody of my time in this room, so I can finally just watch it in a room without much effort.'' House said and Chase gave him a small smile. He could use House sarcastic dry humor now because it was better than all the pity he got from his coworkers.
House sat beside him and put on the tv. He was not just here to watch the TV but also to keep an eye on chase as the man seemed to feel really bad. He started to look worse and worse. House really started to get concerned now, even more now.
''Sleep, okay? We will wake you up when any of the results is known.''
''No, do more tests. You need to do more tests.'' Chase said then. But House shook his head.
''You are too weak to do any test right. Go sleep, save some energy and we will work on getting you better.''
''You have no idea what is wrong with me.'' Chase said then, his voice breaking and he was struggling.
''Not yet, but we will figure it out. You know that.''
''Patients died before.''
''But I won't let you die, I promise. I can't let you take that secret about your hair into your grave.'' House said before walking out. Chase fought to stay awake until they came back but he fell asleep then, until the team walked in.
His eyes fell shut again as House was talking about his bone marrow and he felt he was falling asleep.
''I am talking to you.'' House said then, leaning over the bed. Chase opened his eyes again, trying to fight the urge to fall asleep as he felt so worn out, but he knew it was important.
Cuddy looked inside, frowning as House was writing on the window. The permanent marker was putting Chase's symptoms down again.
''Joint pain, thrombocytopenia, hair loss, failing kidney's and a fever.'' House said then, writing them all down and. They wre all quiet, trying to think.
''What if the fever is not related.'' Chase whispered
''It has to be.'' House shook his head.
''One diagnosis fits. Fever included.'' Cameron said then and Chase knew it was bad. He knew it was the diagnose House always said was wrong but he was pretty sure he had it.
''House, it is lupus, you know it is.'' Chase whispered then. A silence filled the room.
''it is never lupus.'' House said then.
''it is lupus.'' Chase said then.
NOTE: Chase has the transplant and he is struggling. They are trying to figure out what is wrong with him and House has no idea, although he is trying to think of something and Foreman and Cameron took him for a biopsy then. Both of his coworkers react really different to having to treat their coworkers and Chase has a lot of problems with Foreman, but also with Cameron. They start to DDX in his room and Chase gives a diagnose on himself but House didn't agreeā¦but Chase said it again.
