Eren stood outside of his apartment building, waiting for Jean to pick him up so they can begin their search for Levi. He was ready to search everywhere, even though, to be honest... he didn't know where to start. The only lead they had was that a black car had sped away from the scene.

Eren sighed as he thought about his and Jean's first move. After a few moments he heard a car horn blow. He looked around and noticed Jean just pulling up in from of him. Jean rolled down his car window.

"What's up space cadet?"

Eren raised a brow in confusion. "Huh?"

"You looked like you were staring off into space so i called you space cadet." Jean explained.

"Oh."

"Just put your stuff in the damn trunk."

Eren shrugged and walked around to the back of the car, where then Jean popped the trunk and Eren lifted his stuff in and slammed it back shut. He got in the passenger seat next to Jean.

"So... any idea where to begin looking?" Eren tentatively asked.

Jean gave him a look of disbelief. "What?! You have no idea?!"

Eren shook his head. "All we know is that the kidnappers car drove to the outskirts of Shinganshina."

Jean sighed. "The outskirts span at least 150 square miles."

"I know..."

"Then we have some looking to do."

Jean put his car in gear and drove away from Eren's apartment building.

Shinganshina's outskirts looked like an entirely different city from the main part. The outlying part was sleazy and pretty dangerous. It was a haven for drugs and crime. It'd be the perfect place to hide a kidnapped person since the police hated checking here.

Though Eren had doubts.

"Don't you think it seems a bit obvious to come here?" he questioned.

"Dunno. Maybe that's what Erwin wants us to think so we'll give up and check somewhere else." Jean reasoned.

Eren shrugged. He had a point.

"What kind of car did Connie say the person had?"

"It was... dark colored." Eren said.

"Yeah, that helps." Sarcasm ensues.

There weren't many people on the street, but the people who were glared at the intruders menacingly. The duo certainly didn't want to exit the car anytime soon. In the meantime, they looked all around for a lead.

Something, anything that'll lead Eren back to Levi.

Everything looked the same.

Tall, concrete buildings run down over the years.

Graffiti on walls and sidewalks.

Girls on street corners.

People making deals in allys.

Nothing looked remotely helpful. But Eren no longer had doubt.

"Where was Erwin caught?" Jean asked, remembering Eren had told him on the ride over that he'd read some articles about Erwin's arrest.

"It was here, in the outskirts. Have no clue exactly where."

"I guess we'll just keep looking."

Jean sighed, and for a while all was quiet. Until...

"Jean! Over there!"

Said man jumped and looked to where Eren was pointing.

A person sat on the steps of an apartment building. Though the person had on a thick hoodie, you could tell they were female. She was a brunette with glasses.

"What about her?"

"I recognize her! She was in the paper!"

Jean quietly gasped and immediately drove over to her. He rolled down the window once he got in front of her and called out.

"Um, excuse me?"

She whipped her head up towards the voice, and that's when they noticed the protruding cat ears on the top of the woman's head.

"Uh, yes?" She hesitantly asked. Though she narrowed her eyes when she thought of something. "Im not for sale, you pervs."

"What? No!" Jean exclaimed. "We need to ask you something, about someone."

"Yeah, right."

"Really! We do!"

"Then who are you going to ask out then, hm?" she crossed her arms.

Eren pushed Jean back when he leaned across him to be able to talk to the woman still sitting on the steps.

"You used to know Levi, didn't you?!" Eren said, fed up with the earlier bullshit.

The woman's eyes widened.

"Exactly. He's in trouble. Erwin has him and we think you know where he is."

She gulped. "Right... Just..." she paused. "Park around back. I'll tell you what i know."

The woman led Eren and Jean to her ragged apartment on the fifth floor. It was kind of nerve wracking, considering the elevator was a bit sketchy. However, Eren was vibrating with eagerness. This woman, this neko woman may know where his lover is being held captive.

They sat at the tiny dining table and waited for the information to be revealed.

"Im guessing you guys know who I am, right?" She asked.

Eren nodded. "You're Hanji Zoë. You were a servant of Erwin's a while back."

"I wouldn't really call it being a servant, but basically yes. I helped with his experiments and capture of the hybrid humans."

"So what about Levi?"

Hanji took a deep breath. "He was certainly different from the other nekos , and Erwin noticed that. He gave him, along with me and Mike, special treatment. You know who he is too, right?"

Eren and Jean nodded.

"Ok. We became friends with Levi, though we were forced to keep our mouth shut about what Erwin was hiding. We desperately wanted Levi to know, to get the hell out lf that place but he found out on his own. Me and Mike got him out."

"Yeah, we know all that. What we don't know is where he is." Eren stated matter of factly.

"I would guess he returned to the scene of the crime. It would be the last place anyone would check." Hanji continued to talk in riddles.

"Which would be?" Eren asked impatiently. They had finally found a lead. They were so close to knowing where Levi was and the information was just out of his grasp.

"The Survey Lab." Hanji flatly stated.

Jean and Eren gave Hanji confused looks.

"The Survey Lab is a is a lab designed be the government to perform experiments on 'unusual and unnatural oddities', as they call it. Basically as laboratory especially made for nekos and inus."

"Why would there be something like that?" Jean spoke up.

"People are afraid of what they don't understand. And that place was designed to understand the misunderstood. Erwin worked there originally and that's where he keeps all of the drugs he uses on the hybrids. The others are long since gone though."

Her demeanor changed from emotionless to sorrow. "I fear what Erwin has in store for Levi. I remember hearing Erwin swear vengeance on him."

The trio sat in silence, contemplating.

"Where is that place?" Eren stood up and made to leave, motioning for Jean to follow him.

Hanji shook her head. "Ill tell you if you let me go with you."

Eren whipped back around. "What? Why?"

"Because i owe it to Levi. He got me out of that hell hole i wad in by getting Erwin arrested. Im indebted to him."

"That still doesn't explain why you want to come." Eren was getting frustrated. All he wanted to do was go. "Whatever. Lets go."

"Wait, why are you so concerned for him?"

Eren paused.

"Because i love him."

Hanji didn't question it and Eren appreciated that.

Jean led the way back to his car. The trio got in and set out to the location of the Survey Lab with Hanji's guidance.

It was only a matter of time...

Mike unlocked the door to the Underground where Levi was being held. Erwin didn't want the neko at the moment but instead had to feed him. He sent Mike down with a bowl of soup and said to force feed the hybrid if he had to.

The raven neko wad currently sitting on the cot in his cell with his knees drawn up and his back against the wall. All he could think of was the hell he was forcibly thrust in to. He had only been in for a few days but had already thought of ways to escape. Though none, he figured, would work.

He tensed whenever he heard the basement door unlock and anxiety washed over his body when he saw Mike walk down the steps to his cell.

"He doesn't want you right now." Mike spoke lowly.

'Tch. Sadistic bastard.' Levi spat in his thoughts.

Mike held out the bowl and gestured for Levi to take it. The neko refused.

"He said to force feed you if you didn't cooperate."

"Mike, why are you against me all of a sudden? What did i do to you?" Levi glared.

Mike looked away.

Levis eyes narrowed when he came to a conclusion. "You're scared of him aren't you? Yore afraid that if you help me again, he'll punish you."

"He has before."

"What about Hanji? Where did she go?"

"We don't know. Erwin let her go."

That was confusing... Why would he just let her go?

"Why?"

"Im not sure. But that doesn't matter. Here."

Levi flatly denied it once again. "Im not going to eat. Im no use to him if i starve, right?"

"I thought you wanted to see that guy again. Eren was his name?"

Levi flattened his ears against his head. "Don't say his name."

"Of you eat, you may get to see him again."

With that, Mike sat the bowl on the bed and left the cell, locking the door behind him. He exited the cellar quietly and closed the door, leaving Levi confused once again. What was Mike hinting to?

Levi shrugged it off and decided he he should eat if he were to live and see Eren again. He missed his lover more than anything.

So um...

Please, please, please forgive me!

This took too long and Im so sorry!

The hiatus was due to school and the fact i has a serious case of writers block.

I absolutely couldn't think of anything to write!

But now that i had time to think, i have another chapter, albeit a short one. If anyone wants to help me with ideas and editing, let me know!

Again, Im awfully sorry!
