Thank you so much for your response on the previous chapters! I am really glad you like the story so far and I hope you will like this chapter as well. Please tell me what you think after!

I am sorry it took a while before this chapter was up, I needed a little time with planning the storyline ahead because I actually changed it now. I really wanted to get more emotional depth in here...and that will surely come in the upcoming chapters as we dive deeper in Chase's history, even a part he doesn't know yet ;)

2 days later

''Good news, your blood work is looking good, no signs of more infections, your kidneys are getting stronger.'' house said as he looked at the results and Chase sighed relieved.

''So can I get this off now?'' He asked then, pointing at the surgical mask House let him wear every time he left his house.

''No.'' House said then. ''For one, your immune system is crushed because of the chemo, a flu could kill you...and second, it makes everybody else look better now that we don't see half of your face.'' House said and Chase smirked.

''Like this glorified piece of tissue is going to save me.''

''It might.'' House said dryly and Chase got up then. ''Okay, great, going back to work, even I have to wear this.''

''No, you should go home to rest up.'' House said then.

''I will be fine.'' Chase said but House shook his head.

''Your blood work was alright now, just go home, try not to get sick, slap the radioactive squirrels away that will try to bite you.'' House aid and finally Chase agreed, getting up then. He got on the bus, smiling a little bit as he was so happy that his tests had come back with good results. He just wanted to get better as soon as possible. But then, as he got home and laid down in bed, something in his mind stressing him out again.

As he was on his bed again, he tried not to think about that fact that he had to meet his stepmom tomorrow.

1 day later

Nora Chase sat by the table in the cafeteria in the hospital. Chase looked by the entry, not wanting to walk inside at all. He had no idea what she was here for and that scared him. He wasn't sure how much bad news about his dad he could take. But he was surprised his dad had left him something after all. Finally he walked inside then and walked to the table. He had never been really close with his stepmom. He had seen her a couple of times, but they never had been close.

''Nora.'' He said as he wanted shake her hand but she got up and hugged him.

''Oh, it is such a long time ago that I saw you...you were like twenty...twenty-one maybe...how old are you now?'' She asked, hugging him so tight he felt like she was squeezing the air out of his lungs and she was not sure why she was suddenly so affective to him. Maybe because his dad was gone now?

''Twenty-eight.'' He finally managed to say and she let go of him then and frowned as he was still wearing the mask and he saw her looking. He pulled it of then.

''Sorry, just finished a surgery.'' He lied as he walked away to get lunch as well, Nora watching him. As he came walking back she was frowning.

''You are getting bald early.'' His stepmom said then.

''Oh yeah...didn't get dad's genes.'' Chase just lied, didn't want to say that his hair was thinning because of the chemo and sat down then.

''Oh, but you definitely have his eyes...and nose -''

''So why are you here?'' He said, not wanting to talk about how much he looked like the man that had made his childhood and teen years misery.

She opened her bag and grabbed some papers out and a key.

''he left this to you, apparently. It was in an envelope with your name on it, I found it when I cleaned out his desk.''

Chase wanted to ask why she had opened it is but let it go and looked at Key.

''What is it for?''

''A house...in Byron Bay...and I have no idea why he left it to you.'' Nora said as he handed him the key.

''Oh.'' Was all Chase managed to say as he looked at the key. Another family his dad had? Why did he have another house here?

''Come on, eat. Your food is getting cold.'' Nora said then but Chase shook his head.

''You can eat it if you like.''

He wasn't sure if he was just getting sick or if it was this news that make him sick as he snatched the key and the papers from the table.

''I got to go.'' He said as he faked looking at his watch, before giving her quick hug and running away. He barely made his way to the bathroom, feeling sick and fleeing from the table. Standing in a cubicle, he tried not to puke. The key seemed to e burning in his pocket and he wanted to find out what was in the house, what was so important that his father had left it for him.

But there was only one way to find out, which meant he had to go to Byron Bay...and look in the house.

When he finally felt a little better he walked to the office, hoping that he could help there, although he as pretty sure House would send him away again. He hoped that Nora would go away soon, as she made him nervous and remembered him of his dad.

In the elevator a doctor kept looking at him like he was so sorry for him and Chase just looked away. He wasn't feeling better at that much yet, but it did make him feel like a patient again and he walked onto the hallway, House waving him to come inside his office then.

''Where is that glorified piece of tissue...some kid in the clinic with the sniffles could make you sick.''

''I had to meet with my stepmom, didn't want her to know I am sick.'' He admitted.

''How much did you get?'' House asked. ''We could get some hookers...and foot massage...same thing, actually.''

''A key to his house in Byron Bay...but I can't remember he lived there after he left my mom and me.''

''Maybe when he just arrived in Australia?''

''My dad was twenty-one when my grandparents fled Czech, because of the Prague spring.'' Chase shrugged. ''My grandparents moved to Melbourne immediately. I am not sure if he lived in Byron Bay before moving to Melbourne...he met my mum in Melbourne.''

''So why is that house there?'' House asked then.

''I have no idea, what is why I am going there to find out.''

House raised one eyebrow.

''I am going to Australia. There has to be something in that house that is for me, otherwise he would have left it my stepmom.'' Chase said.

''You are not going on a plane. You could get sick.'' House said then, a little surprised Chase had made this decision.

''I am going.'' Chase said stubborn. If there was anything he could find from his dad that could prove that his dad did care, it was everything to him.

''Fine...I will come with you then.'' House said and Chase shook his head.

''No...no it is fine...I can go alone, I don't need you to come with me.''

''Oh yeah, because if something happens to you and you get sick again, you will have nobody by your side. Sounds like a great plan.'' House said then.

''But I think I have to d o do this on my own.'' He said then but House shrugged.

''Then I guess I will plan a trip to Byron bay...like, when you leave too. ''

''Well, come with me then.'' Chase sighed, knew that maybe, it would be nice to have House with him.

NOTE: Chase got his bloodwork done again and more tests and he is doing a lot better now, but they are worried he might get sick now his immune system is suppressed. The next day he had to meet up with Nora with Nora, whom gave him a key to a secret home his dad owned...and now he wants to go to Australia to find out what is there, but House doesn't let him go alone.

Upcoming: Chase and house prepare on their trip to Byron Bay.
