Tris pov
Today is the day when we have the initiates go through their fear landscapes. Tobias sets up the machine as Will gives the initiates some speech about what's going on today.
"Are you ready?"Tobias asks me.
"Yes."
He walks over and hugs me, giving me a sweet kiss before he lets me go and opens the door, calling the first person who is Zane.
"Okay, remember the fastest way to get through this is to calm yourself down."I say.
"Okay,"he says and nods.
Tobias injects him with the serum and watches as he falls into the fearscape.
He is in a room full of worms. They're everywhere. He tries to run through them, but he's also screaming as he does so.
"Worms?"I say.
Tobias nods.
Then he goes into a room that looks like plastic. He instantly starts to hyperventalate. Slowly the plastic moves in, closing off the area one by one.
"Suffocation." Tobias says.
After that fear it's fire. He is surrounded by it, it's similar to mine only he's not tied up. It just surrounds him. In all he has 14 fears.
Next is Wen, hers starts with snakes. Then it turns to heights, then after 16 other fears it ends with her family dead.
Rye is the next one. He only has 13 fears. It starts with darkness, then it ends with killing innocents and his family.
Ross is next and his is quite impressive. He has only 8 fears, and he has a divergent way of doing things. He's definitely one of us. His greatest fear is something happening to Nikki, Zane, or his dad.
Rosemarie is afraid of getting smashed.
Then Nikki is up.
She has a different attitude than the others. She is excited to learn about her fears.
Her first fear is bugs. She screams and tries to smash them all. Then she does something weird. She drops to the floor and let's them crawl all over her until it changes to her next fear; spiders.
Her last fear is seeing Ross die.
She only has 8 fears.
The way she goes through the fearlandscapes shows that she too is also divergent.
Mist has a fears of public speaking, failure, and falling. She has 17 fears.
Liam and Ethan have the fears of death and being turned against each other. Jax is afraid of not being good enough, James is afraid of water. Emma is afraid of hurting her friends. Elisa was afraid of dogs.
Dylan is afraid of giant men, and Daniel is afraid of killing someone in rage. Cole is afraid of his step dad, and Char is afraid of her brother's friend. Claire is afraid of small spaces. Avery is afraid of losing her is afraid of being stabbed to death and Alta is afraid of wild animals.
And finally Ajax is afraid of being kicked out of dauntless.
We walk out and tell them that ratings will be changed, then we release them. But on the way out, we stop Ross and Nikki.
"Come with us."
If they're afraid, they hide it well.
We take them back to the room and have them sit down.
"What was the results of your test?"I ask.
"Dauntless." Nikki says.
"What else." Tobias says.
"...Erudite."
"You're divergent."
"Yes, am I in trouble?"
"Divergence isn't a bad thing and you shouldn't be afraid, but you shouldn't tell people, there might still be Jeannine followers."
"Ross?"
"Dauntless and abnegation."
"We knew we were different before, that's what brought us together." Nikki says.
"Don't tell anyone, it could still be a threat. Now go home, and relax. You guys have a day off and then it's the final test."
"Okay. Thank you,"Ross says.
As we walk back to the pit, I am pulled away from Tobias by Christina.
"We need to go shopping, now!"she says.
"Chris!" I whine.
"Nope, if I'm planning this wedding for you, that means that you need to comply with this."
"Fine. What are we shopping for?"
"Your dress."
She takes me to this store that is filled with very nice black wedding dresses. For hours she makes me try on many dresses until I find a nice dress. It's a mermaid styled dress that has a sweetheart neckline.
She pairs it with some heels and black jewels.
"Wow, you look so beautiful."
"Thank you. I like this one."
She makes the order for it and then pulls me into the lingerie store. I roll my eyes, knowing her so well. Only she gets me a strapless bra and simple underwear for the day of.
"The rest is a surprise,"she says with a wink.
After hours and hours of her dragging me around places to pick out flowers and to pick out decorations. It's very exhausting. When I come home, Tobias is asleep on the couch. I walk over to it and shake him lightly.
He just snores.
"Wake up,"I say and shake him harder.
He wakes with a snort and jumps up nearly hitting me with his head. I lean in and kiss his head. He reaches up and tangles his hand in my hair.
"I had a bad dream. They took you from me."He says and hold onto me.
"I'm not going to leave you. Ever. I love you so much." I say that to reassure him and then kiss him deeply before helping him up and saying,"let's go to bed."
He follows me into our room where he kisses me again and again until I kiss him back with a lot of passion. His arms go behind me and pull me to him. He kisses my lips and says,"I love you, Tris."
"I love you too."
