Ch 33: Pirates of the Kanto region
It was morning near the coast of route 19 and Ash slowly opened his eyes. He saw Serena and Pikachu were still fast asleep.
Upon seeing this he carefully reached into his bag and took out his scale of Reduka. He hadn't used it in a few days and he wanted to give it another try.
He connected his aura and carefully concentrated on containing the flow of information.
"Allow me to help" A familiar voice said.
"Huh?" Ash said.
It was then he felt Vaeron's aura interact with his own again and helped him contain the inflow of information. Unlike the last few times he tried Ash felt the flow of information very manageable. He could carefully see the information like he wanted.
"Vaeron was that you?" Ash asked.
He heard no response. As Ash sorted through the information he came across another two moves, a grass type move called Frenzy plant, and a water type move called Hydro Cannon.
That is when he felt Serena move her head off his chest.
She yawned before opening her eyes.
"Morning Ash." She said before she saw he was holding the scale of Reduka.
"You're using the Scale of Reduka?" Serena asked.
"I am, and I can finally control the intake of information." Ash said.
"Really? How?" Serena asked.
"I think since I synchronized my aura to Vaeron's his aura can come to help me when I need it. I even heard his voice." Ash said.
"Wow, so you can learn anything you want from there now." Serena said.
"I'm not exactly sure. But now that it's safe, would you like to see what it holds?" Ash asked.
"How could I do that?" Serena asked.
"We have an aura connection and I can." Ash said before he took her hand and connected to her aura. He then connected to the scale of Reduka and they could both see the flow of information in a stable manner.
"Woah, this is amazing. I've never seen anything like it." Serena said.
"Hey now that you can use this too. Want to learn to how to teach Blast Burn to Charla?" Ash asked.
"Yeah that would be amazing!" Serena said sounding very excited.
They explored the technique of Blast burn, but in doing so since the information could be controlled they also saw something else. Information on Charizards in general. Ash thought he already knew a lot about Charizard but he was now learning things he never could have imagined. Serena was as well.
Ash put the scale down before the two looked at each other.
"I can't believe how much we learned so quickly. I know so much about Charizards now, I can use that knowledge to help Charla get so much stronger." Serena said sounding very excited
"Me too." Ash said.
Serena blushed a little.
"Thank you so much for showing me that." Serena said before she grabbed his shoulders and kissed him.
Pikachu yawned before opened his eyes and seeing the two.
"Pika."
"Morning Pikachu." Ash said before Pikachu climbed onto his shoulder.
"We should probably have a quick breakfast and get to the ferry. We don't want to miss it again." Ash said.
"Right." Serena said.
The two got up and met Brock and Lucy for breakfast.
"Morning guys." Brock said as they sat down.
"We need to eat quick if we want to make the ferry." Serena said.
"She's right, otherwise we'll have another day of Gyarados mating season." Lucy said.
"Well something good happened from it. Scyther is finally listening to me." Serena said.
"Are you going to use him in your showcase?" Brock asked.
"Probably not, it's in a few days and He has had no training. I'll probably use Absol since I haven't used him yet and then Charla." Serena said.
"Good choice, Absol deserves a chance to shine." Ash said.
"I'm excited to see Charla perform as a Charizard." Brock said.
"Me too." Serena said.
After finishing their breakfast and gathering their belongings they quickly made their way down to the docks and saw a very large white ferry boat.
A man in a white boat crew uniform stood at the gang plank.
"Are you seeking passage to the Seafoam islands?" He asked.
"Yes." Serena said.
"Thirty dollars for a ticket." He said.
The group each took out 30 dollars and handed it to the man.
"Welcome aboard." He said. The group walked aboard the boat and to the bow.
Another 20 minutes passed before the ferry left the docks.
The group stared out at the ocean around them.
Occasionally they would see some pokemon in the water like Tentacool, Magikarp, Horsea, and Staryu.
"I love seeing the ocean, so vast and open. It makes you feel anything is possible here." Lucy said.
"So Ash learned how to control the scale of Reduka." Serena said.
"Really how?" Lucy asked.
"With Vaeron's aura helping me, I'm able to contain the intake of knowledge. I learned about another 2 moves, plus we both learned so much about Charizards." Ash said.
"Amazing. Still I doubt I'd be able to control it like you did." Lucy said.
"You know I think they serve drinks inside. Want to get some?" Brock asked.
"Sure let's go." Serena said. The group went to the interior of the ferry and saw a restaurant like area with many tables and benches.
They went up to the serving area each each got a drink. Ash and Serena got water, Brock lemonade, Lucy a smoothie.
"Because there are over a million people trapped in Saffron city." The group heard in a distressed voice.
They turned to see a man on a cell phone wearing a navy blue suit and tie with graying hair and green eyes. Standing in front of him were a pair of men wearing military uniforms. They looked similar to Kanto army uniforms except they were black and grey camo.
They also said Kanto SSA instead of army on the uniforms.
Standing beside each was a Riachu.
"Look Tom you can keep worrying about your reelection, I'm going to do something about this!" The man in the suit shouted before he hung up the phone and smashed his fist into the table.
"Dam man!" He shouted.
"Why are there soldiers with that man?" Brock asked.
"Maybe he works for the government." Serena said.
"He did seem upset about Saffron city." Ash said.
"Maybe we should go back outside." Brock said. The group walked back to the outer and to the railing.
"I wonder if we'll see any more pokemon?" Serena asked.
"I can see some Gyarados in the distance." Lucy said as she pointed to where they were.
"I can see them too." Ash said before he saw something else with his advanced sense of sight.
It was a black moving object on top of the water.
"What is that?" Ash said.
The object got closer and closer until the others could see it too.
They realized it was another boat, a larger black one, with it's bow heading right at them.
"Look out!" Ash shouted.
The group quickly moved away from where they were before front of the other boat with a metal ram front slammed into the side of the ferry.
The ferry rocked hard as many of the passengers fell over. As the group got up they saw the larger black boat turn to its side and drop a metal walkway between the two vessels.
Ash's eyes widened as he saw 4 rocket grunts with electric batons in hand and Zubats flying above them.
"Team rocket!" Lucy shouted.
Two of the grunts came at them with their batons raised. Ash quickly blocked the first man's strike with his forearm then grabbed his arm and locked him in place before shoving him into the other grunt. The two men were hurled back and over the broken rails and into the water.
At the same time Lucy rammed her shoulder into the third grunt, knocking him off balance before smashing her foot into the last grunt's calf. As this happened the other grunt tried to come from behind and smash her. She ducked down and grabbed the grunt's arm, hurling him over her body and into the last grunt.
Knocking them both into the water.
The 4 Zubat flew at the group only to be shocked by Pikachu's Thunder.
"Team rocket must want something on this boat." Lucy said.
"Whatever the reason we probably shouldn't stay here." Serena said.
"Good plan , let's get inside." Brock said.
They went into the boat interior and saw 4 rocket grunts and 4 Zubat attacking several passengers.
One was standing over a young woman with her baton above the woman's head.
Before the grunt could club the woman, Ash grab over and grabbed the grunt by her arm and twisted it forward against its joint , forcing the grunt to the side, then forward and through a window out into the water. Another grunt tried to club Ash from behind only to have Ash quickly turn and let out his right hidden blade, cutting the baton in half.
He then brought his left palm forward and slammed it into the grunt's throat, forcing him back and through another window into the water.
A third grunt came at Serena only to have her lurch to the side then slam her knee into the man's gut. As he bent over, Serena smashed her elbow into the back of his head then grabbed the back of his uniform and forced him through another window and into the water.
The last grunt charged at Lucy only to have Lucy slam her foot into his face. As he stumbled backwards, Lucy slammed her shoulder into his chest , hurling him out of a window and into the water.
One again Pikachu blasted the four Zubat.
"We'll explain later." Ash said as he helped the hurt girl up.
"Get yourselves somewhere safe." Lucy said.
The passengers quickly left the room as the group walked to another area. When they did they saw 2 unconscious rocket grunts with taser darts in them and 4 unconscious zubats. Standing over them were the two black camo uniformed soldiers holding another 2 grunts in choke holds before knocking them out.
Standing beside them were their Raichus and behind them was the man in the suit.
"Clear up passengers, we need to move." One of the soldiers said as they retracted their tasers.
"What's going on here. Why is team rocket here?" Brock asked.
"That's none of your concern." The man in the suit said.
"They're attacking us too. It is our concern." Ash said.
The man in the suit sighed.
"They deserve to know Sergeant, they're after me. I'm Senator David Welch of the Kanto government.".
"Having a Senator in their grasp would certainly help them." Lucy said.
"We need to get out of her congressmen." One of the soldiers said.
"To the lifeboats." Brock shouted. They rushed to the ferry exterior only to find most of the crew and passengers waiting there.
"What's going on?" The congressmen asked the ferry captain.
"When they rammed us they put a hole in the hull and we're taking on water. They also destroyed the lifeboats when they rammed us." The captain said.
"What do we do now?" A passenger asked.
"You die." Another voice said.
They all turned to the rocket boat and saw none other than Isabel of Infestation standing on the deck with two sentinels beside her.
"You!" Ash shouted.
"That's right, and I'm afraid congressmen Welch will be coming with me." She said.
The two soldiers got in front of him with their Raichu sparking their cheeks.
"I have an idea." Ash said as he whispered it to the congressmen.
"If it get's these people to safety I'm with you." The senator said.
"So congressmen do you want to make this easier on yourself?" Isabel asked.
"I say, to hell with you!" The senator shouted.
"Pikachu Thunder!".
"Raichu Thunder!" One of the soldiers shouted.
All 3 electric type pokemon unleashed their electricity right at the rocket boat.
Isabel and her sentinels quickly hit the deck as the electricity surged through the rocket boat.
"Captain get us away from here!" The senator shouted.
"Where?" He asked.
"Anywhere!" Ash shouted.
The captain sprinted to the helm and started up the ferry before driving the sinking ferry off.
When Isabel got up she scowled.
"After them!" She shouted. The rocket boat didn't move.
"Why aren't we moving?!" She shouted.
"Ma'am those electric attacks shorted out the electricity." A grunt said. Isabel's face turned red before she grabbed the grunt and hurled him into the water.
"I want those engines back on line in ten minutes or another man goes in the water!" She shouted.
Meanwhile back on the ferry the crew was trying to keep the passengers on the area of the boat that wasn't sinking.
"Are we going to make it to land?" a little girl asked.
"We will." Her father said.
"Maybe we should go to the helm and help the captain." Ash said.
"How?" Brock asked.
Lucy turned to Ash and nodded.
"I have an idea." Ash said. They went to the helm and saw the captain and two crewman franticly operating the ferry.
"Captain the nearest islands is too far. We'll sink by then." One crewmen said.
"Not if you head in these coordinates." Lucy said as she pointed to a position on the map.
"There's nothing there." The captain said.
"Just do it!" Lucy shouted.
"Eh why not." The captain said as he changed their coordinates.
Back in the front the congressmen and his soldiers saw something.
"Look!" The congressmen shouted as they saw an island.
"Land we're saved!" A man shouted.
"How did you know there would be an island here?" Brock whispered to Lucy.
"I used my aura vision and saw signs of life in that direction." Lucy said.
"How did you know they weren't sea creatures?" Brock asked.
" Huh." Lucy said.
"Full speed!" The captain shouted. As water filled the decks the passengers moved to the upper levels before the boat crashed into the beach.
"We're safe!" A man shouted as they got off the boat.
Ash and the others disembarked with the senator and the crew.
"So since this islands not on the map it's uncharted." The captain said sweat dropping.
"What about the radio?" One of the soldiers asked.
"It's out, the water hit the generators." Another crewman said.
"Ok so now what?" Serena asked.
"We can try and fix the radio." The other soldier said.
"I don't see what choice we have. Let's get to work." The captain said as he and his crew climbed back into the beached half sunk ferry.
"You to Sergeant." The senator said.
"Congressmen." He started.
"I'm perfectly safe here." He said. The two soldiers walked onto the ferry as well. As the passengers sat around the beach the congressman walked to a higher up point on the beach.
He took out his cell phone but had no reception.
"Of course." He said.
"Hey." Ash said as the congressmen looked up and saw the group.
"Oh it's you kids." He said.
"It seemed like they really wanted you and knew where you were going to be. Why is that?" Ash asked.
"I can't discuss this with a bunch of kids, oh what do I care anymore. We're on a deserted islands. You want to know the truth here's the truth. There is a reason they want me so badly and how they knew where I was. I'm the leading congressmen in anti team rocket policy. I voted to approve an increase in military spending and new policies to allow the investigation of all private industries money records." The senator said.
"Why?" Ash asked.
"So the government can investigate which businesses are fronts for team rocket. If we could shut them down we could cut off millions of dollars to their organization." The senator said.
"That's explained why they want you. But it still doesn't explain how they got your location." Lucy asked.
"I'm only speculating here, but I know of a few other congressmen who I think are on team rocket's pay roll. They voted against anything that could be harmful to team rocket's organization. I also believe that they gave them my location." The senator said.
"That's horrible." Serena said.
"What's worse, now I've dragged all of you innocent people into this." The senator said.
"Trust me, we're no strangers to team rocket." Ash said.
"You know, we do have a pair of Charizards. They could fly out and look for other ships and boats." Serena said.
"That's a good idea." Ash said as he let Charizard out.
"Go Charla." Serena said. The two Charizards came out and stood in front of the group.
"We need you guys to fly around the ocean and try to find a ship or boat. If you do lead them to the island." Ash said.
"Grauu." Charizard said nodding before he and Charla took off.
"Now we wait." The congressmen said.
"It could be a while, why don't we look around a bit." Ash said.
"Beats just sitting here." Serena said.
The group got up and started looking around the island. The island had many trees and tall grassy paths on it. As the group walked down one they could see some pokemon like Mankey, Spearow, or Nidoran.
Pikachu saw a low branch and leapt onto it before climbing up the tree.
"Going exploring Pikachu." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said nodding.
"Just be careful up there." Ash said.
As Pikchu climbed up the trees and saw several Spearow flying off. When he got to the top of the tree he could see much of there island.
"Pika." Pikachu said amazed at the view.
As Pikachu looked around he noticed there was a rock formation near another section of the island with an opening by it.
"Chu." He said.
Meanwhile out in the ocean Charla was still looking for ships or boats of any kind.
It had been over an hour and she had seen nothing. She was almost ready to give up, when she saw something. At first she thought it might have just been a Gyarados until she flew closer and saw it was a boat.
"Grauu!" Charla growled sounding excited. She flew down closer until she could see the crew.
Her eyes widened when she saw none other than team rocket members on the deck.
Cassidy and Butch were sitting on the deck watching as grunts tried to fix the engine.
"Think we should help?" Butch asked.
"Nah , they're grunts it's their job to." Cassidy started before she heard a load roar.
The two looked up and saw Charla flying down at them as she unleashed a massive jet of fire.
"Yahh!" The two shouted before sprinting away and falling off the deck. The flamethrower hit the deck of the boat and sent several rocket grunts scrambling for cover.
After making 3 passes Charla turned and flew back towards the island. Moments later Isabel stepped out and stared at Charla.
"I know that Charizard. Is the boat ready?" She asked.
"Yes Ma'am." A grunt said.
"Follow her." She said.
"Wait for us!" Cassidy shouted as she and Butch climbed back on.
Meanwhile back on the island Ash and the others made it back to the beach after finishing the trail.
"This island is beautiful. It's actually kind of nice that it's uncharted. No one will ever try to build something here." Lucy said.
"Yeah and aside from now, the pokemon will remain undisturbed." Brock said.
"Well now that we've explored the trails , not much more we can do except wait until Charizard and Charla come back." Serena said.
"Think we could get some training in?" Ash asked.
"Pika." Pikachu said as he saw Charizard fly in. The others looked up as Charizard landed in front of them.
"Grauu." he said sounding disappointed.
"It's alright Charizard you did your best." Ash said.
"Grauuu!" The group heard. They looked up to see Charla flying at them looking very concerned.
She landed and turned to Charizard.
"Grauu!." She growled.
"Grauu!" Charizard growled back before turning to Ash.
"Oh no." Ash said.
"What?" Serena asked.
"Charizard said team rocket is on their way here."
"What!?" The congressmen said as he heard what they said. He rushed over to them.
"Team rocket found us?" He asked.
"Apparently, and they'll be here soon." Lucy said.
"Great, we need to get these people to safety." The congressmen said.
"I have an idea. We went on these trails deep into the island , there's plenty of places they could hide there." Ash said.
"Alright I'll tell the captain, but what about you." The congressmen asked.
"We'll set up a bottleneck on the beach. Send as many grunts as we can running before falling back." Ash said.
"Then what?" The congressmen asked.
"We'll think of something." Brock asked.
"Alright but I'm staying to help you." The congressmen said.
"That's alright." Ash said.
"No it's me they want. If I stay away from the other passengers they won't be harmed." The senator said.
Ash and the others could appreciate how brave and selfless the senator was being.
"Alright." Ash said.
"Ash, I hope you're not going to ask me to sit this one out, because after the last time." Serena started.
"Serena are you being serious. Of course I need you to stay, what chance do we have if you don't." Ash said. Serena smiled.
After explaining to the captain and his crew, they took the other passengers deeper into the island.
Meanwhile the group had set up on top of the ridges above the beach.
With them were the congressmen and his two soldier guards.
"Look!" Brock shouted as they saw the rocket boat come into sight.
"Here they come." Ash said. The rocket boat dropped anchor and then lowered several planks into the water. A dozen rocket grunts came out of the boat with 6 Nidorinos with them and charged across the beach.
"Now!" Ash shouted.
Charizard , Charla, Pikachu, the two Raichu's, Seviper, and Onix came out and all unleashed their attacks.
The grunts and their pokemon looked up and saw 3 Flamethrowers 3 Thunders, and a Rock tomb coming down at them.
Many tried to disperse but the attacks were simply overwhelming. Many were knocked out, others simply ran back to the boat.
That is when the group saw Isabel step off the boat with her Sentinels.
"So the twerps want to play rough. Alright then, we're playing rough." Isabel said before she hurled over 20 pokeballs forward all at once. The group saw in terror as an entire swarm of Beedrill formed and flew right at them.
"Again!" Ash shouted.
The pokemon unleashed their attacks and knocked out several Beedrill, but could not stop them all. The Beedrill swarmed around the pokemon and the humans as Isabel smiled.
"Feel the wrath of the insect horde!" She shouted. Once they were out of the water the two sentinels each let out a Rhydon and aimed their hands at the group.
Serena saw the two Rhydon and shouted.
"Look out!". After zapping 3 Beedrill with Thunder, Pikachu heard Serena and looked up to see several massive rocks flying at them.
"Pika!" He shouted before he sprinted out of the way.
"Brock look out!" Lucy shouted as she tackled him away from an incoming boulder.
"Thanks Lucy." Brock said.
The two soldiers also began to back up with their Raichu as the boulders continued to fly at them.
"Senator we need to get you out of here." One shouted.
"No , not until we all leave. I won't run!" He shouted.
Ash grit his teeth, as if the swarm of Beedrill weren't bad enough, now they were being hit by rock tomb.
Charizard opened his mouth and unleashed a Dragon pulse that destroyed 3 incoming rocks.
Charla smashed two Beedrill away from her with Fire First before she was hit in the back with a large rock.
"Grauu!" She grunted in pain.
"Charla!" Serena shouted.
She tried to turn to face the two Rhydon, but there were too many Beedrill around her.
"Charla get them back with a fire sphere!" Serena shouted.
Charla unleashed a Flamethrower around her self as she acrobatically spun herself with her wings, forcing the fire out and into the swarm of Beedrill. Just after doing this, another 2 large rocks hit her.
"Charla!" Serena shouted in fear. The rock type moves were super effective on her. Serena tried to grab another pokeball to let out Absol, but the swarming Beedrill kept at her as well. Ash came to her side and tried to force them away from her with a pulse of aura.
"There's too many of them!" Ash shouted remembering the swam from the Viridian forest.
"Charla!" Serena shouted in fear as she saw Charla get hit by another 3 rocks.
"Pikachu , Charizard help her!" Ash shouted. Pikachu and Charizard tried to rush to Charla's aid, but there were simply too many Beedrill.
After getting hit by another 2 rocks, Charla collapsed and fell to the beach.
Isabel smiled.
"Now for the kill." She said as she let out another wave of Beedrill that all began swarming Charla.
"No!" Serena shouted with tears in her eyes.
Charizard roared in anger as he tried to burn as many Beedrill as possible.
"I have to do something." Ash said when he could feel how enraged Charizard was and he remembered what he had learned from the Scale of Reduka.
"That's it!" Ash said as he touched his new mega evolution stone. Moments later Charizard Mega evolved into Charizard Y and unleashed a flamethrower far bigger than before, knocking out all the Beedrill in front of him. He then saw at least 20 swarming over Charla.
"Charizard focus your anger and aggression into your inner strength. Then let it out in an explosive manner." Ash said to Charizard via aura message.
Charizard did as Ash said and focused all his rage and aggression towards his inner strength. He felt an even bigger fire light in his stomach. His tail flame exploded , surrounding him in fire.
"Blaze? But he's not in a critical state." Brock said in confusion.
"Now use Blast burn!" Ash shouted. Charizard knew that he had to do this to save Charla, he opened his mouth and roared as he concentrated his attack into a focused center then unleashed it. The group watched as a burst of fire that looked like Fire blast flew from Charizard's mouth and hit the swarm of Beedrill.
The fire blast then exploded into a maelstrom of fire like Ash had never seen before. Even up on the ridge, the sheer force of the explosion knocked the group and their pokemon off their feet. They also began to sweat from the maelstrom of fire below.
When the fire began to clear Pikachu and Ash slowly looked down to see nearly the entire swarm of Beedrill covered in soot with swirly eyes laying across the beach unconscious.
Even Isabel, her sentinels, and their Rhydon had been knocked back into the water.
Serena looked down to see Charla was very hurt, but still alive and conscious.
"Charla!" She shouted.
Charla slowly raised her head up at her trainer. Not a moment later Charizard Y swopped down and grabbed Charla. Charla slowly looked up at Mega Charizard Y as he held her in his arms and carried her away.
She gave a slight smile and blush thinking.
"I may have been swarmed by over a dozen Beedrill, but this almost makes it worth it."
Charizard Y landed in front of Ash and Serena.
"Charla, thank Reduka you're safe." Serena said as she came over and hugged her.
"We need to fall back." Lucy said as she saw Isabel get up and let out more Beedrill.
"Good idea." Ash said as Serena returned Charla.
"Charizard you've done enough, return." Ash said as he returned him as well.
"Let's go Pikachu." Ash said as Pikachu leapt onto his shoulders.
"Sergeant , you and Peterson go and protect the passengers."
"Senator." One of the soldiers said.
"Go I'll be fine!" He shouted.
The group started running and were soon out of sight.
Isabel looked on and then turned back to the boat to see Cassidy and Butch cowering after seeing the blast burn.
"You two, Cassidy and Biff, go and find them." She said.
"It's Butch!" Butch shouted.
She walked over and grabbed them by the collars of their shirts.
"I don't care what your fucking name is, you're lucky I took you in and didn't throw you to Seir after what you did in the Safari zone. Now unless you want me to feed you to my Beedrill , I suggest you go after them." Isabel said.
"Yes Ma'am." Cassidy said. Several grunts climbed off the boat and followed them up the trail.
"Back to the boat, we're going to circle the island." Isabel said.
Back on the trail the group continued away from the beach.
"So where to now?" Lucy asked.
"We can't go back to the other passengers and risk leading team rocket to them." Ash said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said to Ash.
"You saw a cave where we can go." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said nodding.
"Let's go." Ash said as Pikachu lead them down the path. When they reached the end of the trail they saw a large cave entrance.
Ash and Lucy felt something strange in the cave, like an aura presence was there.
"This must be it." Brock said.
"Anyone have a flashlight?" The senator asked.
"Charizard can came back out." Ash said as Charizard came out.
As they walked into the cave Ash and Lucy felt the aura presence get stronger as well. Charizard's tail continued to light up the cave as they moved further in.
Charizard turned to Ash and let out a low growl.
He told Ash that he couldn't believe he was able to use Blast burn, but also that he wasn't sure he'd be able to do it again. At least not unless he was in mega form and had all the anger and aggression.
"I know Charizard, even I knew it was the only reason you were able to do it. But the scale taught me something more about Charizards. That they can control their rage and unleash it on demand. It's part of how Blast burn works, your rage an aggression is what makes it truly explosive. It is also what allowed you to use blaze on demand." Ash said via aura message.
"Grauu." Charizard growled in interest.
"For years we trained on your physical abilities , but now I know a way to truly unlock your abilities. When you learn to control to rage and aggression you'll be able to use Blast burn or Blaze any time even when in normal form." Ash said.
Charizard smiled. It wasn't just about that, he started to admire Charla more and more each passing day. He saw her fight off as many Beedrill as she could while being pelted by massive rocks.
Even then she didn't give up, she just kept fighting .
"Wait look over there." The senator said. They looked over at he cave wall and saw a torch attached to the wall.
"Is that a torch?" Serena asked. Brock took it and lit it with Charizard's tail.
"Why would there be a torch here?" Brock asked.
They continued down the path they saw another torch.
"Another one?" Ash asked.
Lucy took it and lit it.
"Two torches, this place must have had some one in it at one time." The senator said.
"I think he can testify to that." Brock said as he pointed to the cave ahead.
Sitting against the cave wall was a skeleton with an 18th century attire and a sword beside him.
"Yah!" Serena shouted before lurching back to Ash.
"A skeleton?" Lucy said.
"It looks almost like a pirate." Ash said.
"Maybe we should turn back." Serena said.
"No, team rocket is behind us." Lucy said. They continued down the cave until they saw a light ahead of them.
"Look." Ash said. They followed the light until they reached massive cavern with a massive pool of water in it. The cavern had a very large crack in it that lead to the ocean and let the light in.
"Oh my Reduka." Ash said as he and the others saw a massive black 18th century Frigate floating in the pool of water.
On top of the ship was a black flag with a skull and cross blades.
"It's a pirate ship." Serena said.
"I guess it was a dead pirate." Brock said.
"It would be a good place to hide." The senator said.
"Or if we got it up and running we could sail it out of here." Ash said.
"How?" Brock asked.
"Well it's an idea." Ash said sweat dropping.
"Let's just get down there." Serena said. That was when Ash and Lucy felt the aura presence feel extremely strong. They also noticed something strange, the blades on the pirate flag almost looked like hidden blades.
The group spent a few minutes trying to find a path , but the ridge overlooking the pool had none.
"Ok so how do we get down there?" The senator asked.
"Well we could do this." Lucy said before she dove off the edge performing a leap of faith and landing safely in the water.
Serena looked over the edge of the cliff.
"Can't be worse than diving down into a pod of Gyarados." She said before she dove off the edge.
"I guess we're next." Ash said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said as he jumped before Ash performed a leap of faith.
Brock then jumped before the Senator nervously looked over the edge then at Charizard.
"Wait couldn't you have just flown us down?" He asked. Charizard pushed the senator over the ledge.
"Yahh!" He shouted before splashing into the water.
Charizard laughed a little before he flew down to the deck of the ship. Ash and Lucy used their skills to climb up the ship side and onto the deck.
Charizard walked over and helped the others onto the deck with Ash and Lucy.
On the deck of the ship they saw a few more pirate skeletons.
"I can't believe we're on a real pirate ship." Ash said.
"I wonder if there's gold here." Brock said.
Ash and Lucy felt the aura presence very closely, and they knew where.
"We should check the captains cabin." Ash said. They walked over to it and inside. Inside the captains cabin were maps, draws, a table, a bed, and a massive pile of gold and silver doubloons, as well as gold jewelry, metal wear, and a few bars.
"Wow." The group said upon seeing the fortune.
Sitting in the pile of gold were a pair of skeletons. One was a human, the other a pokemon. The pokemon's skeleton was clearly a Blastoise, its shell was still in tact and its skull's left eye had a patch over it.
The human skeleton wore a dark blue 18th century jacket with a hood over it and potions of leather armor over the chest, arms, and shoulders.
Ash and Lucy then saw something else on the skeleton's forearms.
Hidden blades with a mega evolution stone on the underside of the left one.
They looked at the Blastoises eye patch and saw a piece of Blastoiseite embedded into it.
This was the source of the aura presence. This pirate was an aura guardian.
"Wait I know who this is. It's admiral Jake Neiwlon." Lucy said.
"Who?" Serena asked asked.
"He was a pirate who named himself admiral of a large pirate fleet that raided the tyrant Kanto navy's warships and merchant vessels. They would steal from them and give to the poor." Lucy said.
"Ah yes, he was the people's hero. The only pirate to be loved, and not allow his men to rape anyone." The senator said.
"He was an aura guardian?" Ash asked via aura message.
"He certainly was, a well known Kanto guardian . He tended to follow his own rules , but still fought to protect people and pokemon. After the corrupt, tyrant government sent an entire armada after him, he fought until all of his ships went to the bottom and he sent every one of the navy ships to the bottom as well. But the guardians never found him. He must have retreated here when the navy sent reinforcements." Lucy said.
"This is just incredible." The senator said as he walked over to one of the maps.
When he wasn't looking Ash and Serena walked over to Jake's skeleton.
"Resquieta in Pace." She said as she gave him his final rights.
"Resquieta in Pace" Ash said to his Blastoise.
"So I have a question, if we get out of here what do we do with the ship and the gold?" Brock asked.
"Well I don't need this money. You kids found it, its yours. You'll probably be set for life, this gold must be worth millions, maybe even a billion." He said.
"Are we really going to keep it?" Serena whispered to Ash.
"No, this ship, and this treasure belong to the aura guardians. The guild at the Seafoam islands will take it to the mentor for us." Lucy said.
"Lucy's right, it's what Jake would have wanted." Ash said.
"Well, we did find it. Could we take some?" Serena asked.
"Alright we can each take some. Not a lot ." Lucy said. They each took a handful of gold doubloons and put it into their backpacks. Serena also found a gold necklace and earrings.
Lucy noticed that Jake's hidden blades were made of solid gold. She considered taking them for herself, but thought it might be disrespectful. He wasn't her ancestor, it didn't seem right. The entire brotherhood should see them.
As Ash put his gold coins into his bag he saw Pikachu digging through the pile and come up with something in his hand.
"Pika." Pikachu said as he showed as a solid gold ring with a large sapphire blue diamond on it.
"Huh it's beautiful. Good find Pikachu." Ash said as he put it in his bag.
As this happened Cassidy and Butch were walking down the cave with several grunts behind them.
"Ok so we saw a dead pirate, what makes you think they'll be pirate treasure here? Shouldn't we be looking for the senator?" Butch asked.
"Well if we find pirate gold we'll be rich. We won't ever have to listen to them again Butch." Cassidy said.
"It's not Butch it's Biff! I mean Butch, dam it." Butch said.
The group continued down the cave until they found the cavern with the ship in it.
"Woah." Butch said.
"I was right!" Cassidy shouted.
"Hey look!" One of the grunts said. They looked down at the deck and saw the senator with Ash and the others.
"It's the senator!" Butch shouted.
"Ha I knew this was the right way to go." Cassidy said as she took out her radio.
"Ma'am we found him. He's in a cavern on the west side of the island, you can get here from the boat." Cassidy said.
"This ship is still in good condition, maybe we can use it to get the people out of here." The senator said.
"Well how do we get down there?" They heard above them.
The group looked up to see Cassidy push Butch and the other grunts into the water before jumping.
"Was that Cassidy and Buzz?" Brock asked.
"My name is Butch!" Butch shouted as he burst out of the water.
"Team rocket is here!" The senator shouted.
"So we fight!" Brock shouted as he picked up one of the dead pirates swords.
"Um alright." Serena said sweat dropping.
Moments later they heard motor sounds and turned to see the rocket boat drive in and block off the cave exit.
"There you are senator." Isabel said before she and her Sentinels climbed onto 3 Beedrill and started flying over.
"Let's defend the ship." Ash said as he picked up a sword and handed it to Serena, then another to the senator. Isabel let other a smaller Swarm of Beedrill before drawing a pair of combat knives as her Sentinels drew their swords.
Serena saw a pair of grunts come at her with Zubat.
"Alright go Scyther!" Serena shouted .
"Scyther!" Scyther shouted as he came out
"Scyther use Slash!" Serena shouted.
Scyther did as Serena said and flew forward before slashing the two Zubats, and knocking them out.
When the first grunt came at Serena she blocked his baton with the sword Ash gave her , then grabbed his other arm and twisted it against his joint before hurling him into the other grunt and knocked them both over the edge and into the water.
"You!" Serena heard. She turned and saw Cassidy standing there with her Raticate.
"Raticate use Hyper fang." Cassidy said.
"Scyther use Air slash!" Serena shouted. Scyther flew forward and slashed Raticate across his body and hurled him back. Cassidy came forward with her knife but was blocked with Serena's sword. After holding Cassidy's knife in place Serena kicked Cassidy's calf, making her cringe before punched Cassidy across the face with the sword handle.
Before Serena could do anything else, two grunts came from behind and grabbed her arms.
"Let me go!" Serena shouted as she tried to break free.
Cassidy came back up and walked over to Serena.
"Alright, now that I have you , why don't we start by cutting off all your pretty little hair." Cassidy started as Serena gave a very frightened look.
"Scyther!" Scyther shouted as he quickly flew over and knocked the two grunts away with his claws before slashing his blades across Cassidy's head.
When he stopped Cassidy stood there without a scratch on her.
"Huh? Ha you missed." Cassidy said. That is when Serena saw all of Cassidy's hair fall off leaving her with a shiny bald head that the light reflected off of.
"Huh?" Cassidy said before she saw her hair on the ground.
She touched the top of her head and then looked at her reflection in the water.
"Gahhh!" She shouted before she ran off and jumped overboard.
"Scyther." Scyther said looking proud.
"Wow, I love you Scyther." Serena said hugging him.
Brock blocked Butch's knife with his sword and then pushed him back to the edge of the ship railing and locked his sword with Butch's knife.
"Who do you think you are Arol Flyn?" Butch asked.
"I'm Arol Brock!" Brock shouted before they both sweat dropped.
"Ok I'm just Brock." He said before smashing the sword handle into Butch's face and knocked him into the water.
Brock then saw the senator get knocked to the ground by one of the two sentinels. He rushed over and blocked the Sentinel's blade with his sword.
The Sentinel turned to him and knocked Brock's sword away from him before punching him and knocking him to the ground. Brock tried to get up but the Sentinel slammed his foot into Brock's back and forced him down.
He was about to slash Brock when a pirate cutlass was plunged through his chest.
Brock looked over and saw the senator had done it.
"I killed him." The senator said.
Meanwhile Lucy hurled two grunts back onto the water with a pulse of aura, but the second sentinel climbed back up and ran at her with his sword. Lucy blocked his sword with her hidden blades and tried to kick his calf. The Sentinel moved back and tried to thrust his sword into Lucy. She knocked it aside with her left blade before slamming her right blade into his neck.
Isabel came at Ash with her blades only to have Ash block them with his hidden blades.
"Attack!" Isabel shouted as several of her Beedrill flew at Ash.
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he filled several with electricity. At the same time Charizard blasted the rest with Flamethrower.
Ash knocked her blades aside and tried to slash her. Isabel lurched back and tried to come at Ash from he side.
Ash came at her with his shoulder and knocked her off balance. Still she summer salted forward and away from him. Just after doing so , Ash smashed his foot into her calf and made her cringe. Ash then delivered a powerful kick to her face, knocking her over the side and into the water.
"Now to clear the way, Charizard fire at will!" Ash shouted. Charizard turned to the cannons on the deck and used Flamethrower to ignite 3 of them.
The cannons fired and hit the rocket boat , tearing it apart before it exploded.
"My boat!" Isabel shouted as the remains started to sink. She quickly swam over and got on a jet ski before it was dragged down.
"You can't hide forever Senator!" Isabel shouted before she quickly rode off.
"Wait for us!" Butch shouted as he and now bald Cassidy climbed onto another jet ski and drove off.
"What happened to Cassidy's hair?" Ash asked.
"Scyther cut it all off." Serena said still hugging him.
" Go Scyther." Lucy said.
"Well we're safe now. We should bring the passengers in." The senator said as he dumped the Sentinel's body overboard.
Brock put on one of the skeleton's hats and walked over to the helm.
"Right then weigh anchor !" He shouted holding his sword.
Ash and the others sweat dropped, but Lucy smiled and laughed a little.
"That's my little captain." Lucy said.
Two hours later all of the passengers were on the pirate ship as it sailed across the open ocean and the remaining grunts were locked up in the ships cells with the two soldiers guarding them.
"So I never would have expected to be sailing to Seafoam on an aura guardian pirate ship." Ash said.
"Well I'd like to thank you kids for everything you did. And I'm not even going to ask about the blades you had." He said.
"Your welcome. Just keep up your work against team rocket." Ash said.
"Trust me , I will." He said before walking off.
"The captain said we should be there by tonight." Brock said.
"Well this was an interesting day." Lucy said.
"Getting some pirate treasure was nice to." Serena said.
"Now we have something to always remember this." Ash said.
"And two brothers will be returned to their family." Lucy said.
"So will their treasure and ship." Ash said.
"I wanted to thank you again Scyther for saving me from Cassidy, and well cutting off her hair." Serena said.
"Scy." Scyther said smiling.
"Tomorrow we'll be in Seafoam islands, and it will be awesome." Ash said.
"But will it be awesome as being pirates!" Brock shouted as he and the rest of the group looked out at the open ocean.

"Hey when a ship starts taking on water like that the ship is then unable to move otherwise you risk the safety of the crew in the lower decks that need to be there to operate the ship, that doesn't make any sense."
"how would all of the life boats been destroyed if the team rocket ship only crashed into one side and without previous sabotage. It makes no sense"
"nearly 200 years of inactivity would leave the pirate ship nothing more than a useless piece of rotting driftwood. Not to mention the cannons would've also been weathered and would've had cracks in them meaning that they'd just blow up. It makes no sense."
Look guys I know that this kind of stuff doesn't make sense, but this is a fanfiction, a pokemon fanfiction at that, does it make sense that Stormtroopers can't hit the broadside of a barn, or that a human and dwarf can fight off an army of Uruk-hai in front of a gate.
Please don't sweat those things and just enjoy the story.
That being said, Jake is in no way related to Ash.
Also some of you have asked how Ash saw saw Altair's memory when Altair didn't have a time flower at the time. Well it wasn't a time flower memory, it was an aura memory like Ash had about Vaeron in the last story. It happened because he touched something that Altair did.
Well why didn't that happen with Aaron...plot
Expect more Altair memories except they will be from the time flower.
