Thank you so much for your response on the previous chapters! But oops it has been some time! I hope you are not too angry about that. I am really glad you came back for the story and I hope you will like this chapter as well. Please tell me what you think of this!

''Your dad's friend... he stopped writing in the night of the invasion.'' The younger boy explained.

''Can you look up more about what happened? Is there any way to find out where my dad was on the night of the invasion?''

''I...I can look through some reports on it. If you leave the diary here I can see what I can find.''

''That would be great, thank you so much.''

''Hey, I don't get do not practice this language very often, this is a good chance for me.'' The boy explained and Chase nodded gratefully.

before he could even ask any more House burst into the room.

''We are going.'' He said then and Chase shrugged.

''We are not ready yet.''

''But we are going.''

The boy looked a bit confused.

''Your...dad?''

''Oh, no, he is not my dad.'' Chase said. ''I uh...will leave the diary here and I will call you about it, okay?''

''All fine.''

As Chase walked out, he did not see House handed the younger boy some Australian dollars.

''Please figure out more about the diary, okay?''

''I will.'' The boy said then and House nodded before walking after Chase.

''We are going home after we pass by a pharmacy''

''Why?'' Chase asked confused.

''because something if off in your blood.''

''how do you know?'' Chase asked puzzled. House looked a little unsure. He did not want to tell Chase that he had secretly taken some of his blood. but Chase was not stupid and he knew he had to tell him.

''I took some of your blood while you were asleep...and I just took a look at it. Your blood is not good. It is not bad...but I just want you to take iron pills and rest, before it gets out of hand.''

''I am heading towards anemia again? That is what you are saying, right?'' Chase asked upset.

''Yes, unfortunately yes. It is not too bad yet so like I said, if you start taking the right medication now it will be fine.''

They went home after driving past a night pharmacy and picking up the medication for Chase they arrived home.

Chase slumped down on the couch, House handing him all his medication and Chase took them all with a deep sigh, looking out of the window. He had wanted to know everything but now he was not sure anymore.

''You look like somebody just murdered your puppy.'' House said then.

''I am just upset that I am sick. I was doing so fine and now I am getting problems with my blood again. I just want thinks to be normal. I just want to go surfing again without having to be concerned about getting sick. Life is not fair.''

''No, it isn't'' House said, not sure what else he could say because Chase was nothing but right.

''You know, a month ago I was fine! Every time I feel something in my body now I start to wonder if I am getting sick again. I don't want to worry about being sick.'' Chase said as he pulled his knees up.

''I know it is frustrating when your life suddenly changes like that. I do, but there is nothing you can to do to change it but to live with it.''

''As if you understand. I have a disease you never even said was possible.''

''I understand what it is like to have your life changed from one day to another.'' House said and when Chase looked at him he hit on his bad leg.

''I am sorry, I know it is stupid but I am so used to you limping and walking with a cane I sometimes forget-''

''Gosh that is insensitive.'' House said sarcastically but smirked at Chase.

''I was playing golf, then my leg suddenly started to hurt. And I went to the Er...and I went home...and returned to the ER and days later...I had lost a muscle and I knew I was never going to live without pain.''

Chase nodded.

''I know, I was there when you told the class.''

''Yeah, I know. I just wanted to tell you I do get it.''

''Did you ever go golfing again?'' Chase asked then.

''No.'' House answered with a frown.

''You know what, let's not dive into my dad's past tomorrow. I have a better idea.'' Chase said with a smile.

''I don't like that smile.'' House said. ''It is an all too familiar smile. You are mimicking my evil smile.''

''I know for a matter of fact that there is a golf course very near to here.''

House looked at him and shook his head then.

''No.''

''Yes.'' Chase said with a cheeky smile.

''No.''

''Oh yes.''

House just looked at Chase with disbelief. This had been the man that had said yes on all his requests, all his jokes. This was the man that never had dared to say a wrong word and now he was forcing him to go golfing with him.

''You are cruel.''

''I learned it from the best.'' Chase smiled. They sat together in silence for a few minutes.

''I have a better idea...why don't we go surfing instead. I am lousy golf teacher but I bet you are better at teaching me how to surf.''

''it will be hard to teach you how to surf, but I can try.'' Chase said.

''Trying to get a cripple to balance on a surfboard, I am going to wish you good luck, but I am hoping you can show me how to do it tomorrow because I am sure you are good at it. You must have had so many classes to learn it.

''I didn't. I just bought a board and a wetsuit, I got in the water and I tried, tried and tried. I fell off but I got back up and tried again. It kept me sane in all the years my parents were the most unstable factor in my life.''

House could imagine that surfing was the only thing that kept him safe at the time. Only now he realized how hard Chase could fight for something. It was like he never had fought to be in the department, because Chase had always said yes to everything he had said, but he knew that the man had a lot of willpower.

''But I am not sure about surfing. What if I get sick again?''

''Well, you could get sick any time. Your own body makes you sick so it is not just too blame on the environmental factors. What do you young kids say, Yolo?''

'''Don't say yolo.'' Chase said strict. ''I am a grown man of 28, I don't yolo.''

They both laughed then and House saw Chase was dozing off, tired and that he needed to sleep soon.

''All right, I am going to head to bed - you sure you still don't want the bed?''

''I am content with my couch.'' Chase smiled.

House wanted to walk to bed when Chase suddenly said his name.

''House, just...thank you for looking out for me. You might be a bit of a stubborn idiot for drawing my blood while I am asleep instead of just asking, but...thank you.''

''All good.'' House said as he walked to bed.

Chase laid down on the couch and pulled the blanket over himself. It was nice to have somebody looking out for him instead of just himself. It had always been him against the world but now he was not alone in this anymore.

NOTE: Chase tried to get more information but the diary ended and House pulled him away, although he paid he boy to find out more so will Chase know more soon? Something was off in his blood but Chase found it in time now and they got the medication and talked a bit.

Upcoming: House and Chase have a day at the beach and Chase tries to teach House how to surf.

I hope you really liked this chapter and thank you so much for reading. I hope you liked the interaction between the characters. The next chapter should be up sooner than this one was, I promise! Please do leave a review before you go so I know what you think. Thank you!
