''Sunscreen.'' House said as he threw the bottle at Chase, having finished smearing himself and Chase caught it but shook his head then.

''I am Australian.''

''UV does not look at your passport.'' House said as he still held out the bottle.

''House, I have been living in Australia for 19 years. I think I will live.'' Chase said but he did take the bottle then and applied the sunscreen so House wouldn't nag about it. They made their way to the beach then with the rental car and to a shop close to the beach to rent a board and while Chase was almost running through the shop like a kid in a candy shop, House knocked against some of the boards with his cane, knew there was no way he was going to do it, he couldn't kneel down on jump up, but Chase running around so excited also made it that he didn't want to break his spirit. After he had seen him so sick from the lupus and the chemo it was good to see Chase so happy and now he didn't want to ruin it by shooting down Chase's plan.

''The surfing is going to be so much fun!'' Chase said then.

''I was just kidding about learning how to surf. I am not going to do that to you.'' House said then.

''Yes you are.'' Chase said as he was looking a board for House. For the first time he saw House a bit uneasy and he felt bad, didn't want to force him into this.

''if you don't want to do it, don't do it. I was just joking but I don't want to force you into this.'' Chase said and House shook his head.

''You are so adorable when you are worried.'' House said then and Chase shook his head, picking two boards then and a little later they walked to the beach.

Chase was carrying both boards as they arrived on the beach and put them down in the sand then.

House already struggled with walking through the sand and knew that surfing was not an option for him but he hadn't seen Chase smile so bright in weeks.

Before they walked into the water Chase suddenly stopped.

''Watch out.''

''For what?'' House asked with a frown.

''Watch out for the wobbegongs.'' Chase joked before going into the water.

''Wobbewhats?''

''Wobbegongs, the carpet sharks. Step on them and they will let you know you stepped on them.''

''Did that actually happen once or?'' House said and Chase felt bad for making the joke. Even though House was laughing it off it also sounded that he was a bit nervous now.

''It happened, but it doesn't happen often, but they were my childhood fear after somebody made me scared to death about stepping on one.''

''Your dad?'' House asked careful.

''My neighbour did. He made me too scared to even go in the water at one point. Until I read a book on them and found out they stay away from shallow water. I have seen some while snorkeling, they are actually adorable for a shark.'' Chase smirked and House followed him into the water.

''Only an Aussie could call a shark cute. Is there anything Australian that is not going to try to kill me?'' House asked as he looked around, the water was still calm and clear blue.

''Me.'' Chase said as they entered deeper water and he climbed on the board, just sitting on top of it.

''You want to get me on a surfboard, I am honestly doubting that you don't want to kill me.'' House smirked.

''Come on, it will be fun.'' Chase said really enthusiastic and House knew that it was a bad idea for him to go surfing but since Robert was so excited and enthusiastic he also didn't want to break his spirit.

''I hate you.'' House said with a smile then, trying to climb up but as soon as he put his bad leg down he lost his balance and fell off. Even though he knew that was no way he would even surf, Chase laughed softly and that was enough for House in this moment.

''Okay, how about you surf and I will just watch you.'' House said as he climbed back onto the board and sat on the surfboard. Chase nodded, realized that even though he wanted to teach House how to surf, in all his enthusiasm he had not realized there was no way that House would ever be able to surf. But as House was just relaxing in the water, sitting on the board, he was surfing, trying to catch some of the larger waves but he felt so out of shape. As House had made his way out of the water and sat back on the beach, Chase was still surfing but he also saw that Robert was struggling.

Suddenly the water seemed knock him off his board and he disappeared in the water. House was expecting Chase to pop up out of the water any second but he still wasn't coming up and House started to get concerned.

Robert came up out of the water then and leaned on the surf board, panting for a bit but made his way to the beach then as well and sat down beside House.

''What's wrong?'' House asked as Chase was frowning and seemed to be upset about something.

''I don't know, I am just upset about being so out of shape. I used to be so good at surfing but now I feel like I am terrible.''

''You are still better than me.'' House said and finally Chase smirked.

''Well that isn't so hard.''

''Now that is just rude.'' House said sarcastic and they both smirked again. Even though Chase still a bit upset on how out of shape he felt while surfing, it was a good day and now the sun was shining down on them, he did enjoy being on the beach. Maybe he should have realized that he was going to be out of shape after being so sick and he had to take it easy building up strength again. But he knew he had to know before he would get sick again. Because if he would get sick feeling crappy and weak like this, he knew that it would only be worse.

''What are you thinking about?''

''Not much, as usually.'' Chase mumbled back in response.

''You have been stuck with me for about a week now and you are starting to take over my sarcasm.'' House said then and Chase nodded.

''You are slowly ruining me.''

''Well, looking at how you were when you came to work with me and said yes to everything I said and did everything I wanted and you have grown a lot in the last few years.'' House said then. ''So yes, I am ruining you from a yes man into a more sarcastic well thinking doctor.''

''That doesn't sound too bad, does it?'' Chase smiled then.

''I am proud of you, you have grown a lot in the last few years and you are a great diagnostician.'' House admitted then.

''Don't get all sappy now.'' Chase laughed and House laughed as well and they got up then. Chase was carrying the boards back to the shop, as he was too tired to surf anymore and instead they looked for a good restaurant by the beach for dinner.

Chase was mostly just pricking the pasta on his fork and watching it drop of again.

''Okay how old are you?''

Chase looked up, almost startled.

''Don't play with your food.'' House said teasing, like a strict father.

''I am not so hungry.'' Chase explained but House also knew that that was not the problem.

''You look too tired to even eat.'' House said then and he didn't say it to tease him but because he still was concerned about Chase. Even though he did seem to do better he did seem really tired and House could only imagine he was after the surfing he had done. Even though he had surfed for only a bit this afternoon, he also knew that it was tiresome for him.

''Okay, I admit. I am exhausted.'' Chase yawned, not even able to get excited for a dessert.

''Sounds like it is time to head home then.'' House said.

''Well if you still want to have dessert you can.'' Chase said then as he felt bad for cutting dinner short because he was tired.

''Nah, I would take the strawberry cheesecake but that would insensitive.'' House joked and Chase rolled his eyes and before Chase could get up to pay for dinner House stopped him.

''I already gave them my credit card so that is all done.''

''I could have paid.'' Chase said as he felt bad House kept paying for everything.

''it is fine. Just take that as an exchange for all my clinic hours you did.''

They walked out then and took the car home, Chase trying to drive as good as he could but he was tired. Luckily they arrived at home safe and sound.

Chase was already on the couch, taking his last medication as House came walking in.

''I just got a text from the translator, he is done, we can go see him tomorrow.''

''That is...good.'' Chase said then.

''You still want to go there and find out?''

''Yes, even though it might be a bit hard I feel like I am ready now...and I do want to know what suddenly changed my dad.''

''I am glad to hear that. Now I am going to leave so you can sleep.'' House said and Chase nodded, as House had the light switch in his hand, Chase almost was already asleep.

Even though he was nervous for tomorrow, he did fall asleep immediately, wanting to know what had happened, but too tired to think about it too long, as he was too tired for that.

NOTE: So a chapter without drama but lots of fun for Chase even though it still was hard on his body, but it seems like he is all ready now to find out the truth about his dad!

I am so sorry for the late update. The story is going to have 3 more chapters so 20 will be the last one. I hope you will read it till the end I promise you won't have to wait so long again for an update - chapter 18 is already in the works. I am also already planning on a new House/Chase story that will start when this one is done.
