CH 36: spreading the news
It was early in the morning in Vaniville town and Grace was still asleep. Beside her was her husband Alex who was also still asleep.
Sleeping on a pillow beside the bed was Grace's Fletchling. A few moments later the phone rang , awaking up the small fire bird.
"Fletch?" He said as he flew over to his owner and touched her face with his beak.
"Huh what is it?" Grace said before she heard the phone ringing.
"Is the phone ringing?" Alex asked.
"Don't worry general, I know you're on leave. I've got it." Grace said as she got up and answered it.
"Hello. Serena? So good to hear from you!" Grace said.
"It's Serena?" Alex said as he slowly got up.
"What? Oh my god, it finally happened! Oh I'm so happy for you!" Grace almost shouted.
"What's going on?" Alex asked.
"Alex, our daughter is engaged." Grace said.
"What!?" Alex shouted as he almost leapt out of the bed.
" Oh this so exciting , do you know when your wedding is? Where it is? Who will your maid of honor be? Alright you need to call her. Alright, you want to talk with your father he's here." Grace said.
Alex slowly walked over and picked up the phone.
"Serena?" He said.
"Dad, Ash did it. After I won my showcase, we flew to the top of a peak. He then went over how much he loves me and everything we've been through. He then took my hands and asked me." Serena said.
"Serena this a bit soon. You're only 20 years old, I was 24 when I asked your mother." Alex said.
"You were 21" Serena said back. Alex looked at Grace who gave a guilty expression.
"Pourquoi voudriez-vous lui dire?" Alex said to Grace asking her why she told her that.
"Eh bien, elle posait des questions sur la façon dont il est arrivé et il m'a échappé" Grace said sweat dropping explaining it just slipped out when they were talking about them. Alex sighed before going back to the phone
"Nonetheless, I had my future planned out. I was about to become a Lieutenant when I asked her. Do the two of you have a plan?" Alex asked.
"Ash does, he's working to enter the elite four. I will continue to perform for a career, I've made plenty of money with it. Ash had made plenty of money in the NPC, I know he can make it into the elite four." Serena said.
"Can he get back into the NPC if he doesn't?" Alex asked.
"Yes, but he doesn't need to because he can make it into the elite 4." Serena said.
"Alright, just tell me if you and Ash are getting married in Kanto or Kalos?" He asked.
"We're not sure yet." Serena said.
"Alright just tell us when you know." Alex said.
"I will." Serena said.
"Je t'aime , et je suis heureux pour vous." Alex said saying he loved her and he was happy ,before the phone call ended.
He sat down back on the bed before putting his hands on his temples.
"Wow, she's getting married. Our little girl is getting married." Alex said.
"I know, it's so exciting , I'll help her pick out a wedding dress, where to get married. " Grace started
"I have to watch my only daughter go down the aisle and give her away to another man. I think I'd rather turn to stone again." Alex said.
"Come on, this is going to be the happiest day of your daughters life. At least until she has a child." Grace said.
"Uhhg." Alex groaned.
Elsewhere in Viridian city Red and his father were practicing their martial arts with each other. As this happened Korrina pinned another guardian to the ground in an arm bar.
"You leave yourself too open?" She said to the 18 year old young man.
"I'll keep that in mind." He grunted.
She got off him and offered him a hand to get up before walking over to Delia who was watching.
Korrina sat down beside her and wiped some sweat off her forehead.
"So how are you liking Kanto ?" Delia asked.
"It was a bit of an adjustment at first, but I've grown to like it here." Korrina said before the two looked at Red and Felix.
"Amazing man your son." Korrina said.
"Thank you." Delia started before she gave an uncomfortable look.
"Korrina, can I ask you something?" She asked.
"Anything?" Korrina asked.
"I know how much you two love each other. Have you been?" She started.
"Oh no, we both decided to wait until we were married. It's the right thing to do, Reduka commands it. We also decided to hold off on marriage until we spend another year or so working for the brotherhood." Korrina asked.
Moments later another guardian walked into the sparring room.
"I'm looking for Master Felix. I have a message for him and guardian Red." He said.
Felix and Red stopped sparring before turning to him.
" What's going on?" Felix asked.
"You're son Ash is on the phone from the seafoam island guild. He wishes to speak to all of you."
The group walked over to the guild's phone and saw on the other side Ash and Serena both looking very happy.
"Ash, Serena. Good to see you two. How are you doing?" Delia asked.
"We're doing great!" Serena shouted.
"We have, a big announcement." Ash said.
"What's going on son?" Felix asked.
"We're getting married!" Serena shouted.
"What?!" Delia and Felix said in unison.
"Alright little bro." Red said.
"About dammed time." Korrina said.
"Wait? So the two of you are actually engaged?" Felix asked.
"We are, just last night I proposed." Ash said.
"Oh Ash, I'm so happy for you. " Delia said.
"As am I son." Felix said.
"We still have a lot of planning to do but we already know some things. " Serena said.
"Red, I obviously want you as my best man." Ash said.
"Korrina I'd love for you to be my maid of honor." Serena said.
"Alright I get to be a best man." Red said.
"Wow, thank you Serena. I'm honored." Korrina said.
"So what are you guys going to do now?" Delia asked.
"We're still going to continue our journey, and keep planning the wedding along the way." Serena said.
"Alright, well keep us posted." Delia said.
"We will." Ash said before the phone call ended.
A few minutes later in Lumoise city Kalos, Shauna was with Clemont and Bonnie in prism tower.
In front of them was Bonnie's Frogadier, Delcatty, Dedenne, and Psyduck.
"These are the pokemon I caught so far." Bonnie said.
"Very nice, I assume Delcatty was evolved from your Skitty you had 5 years ago." Shauna said.
"Yes she is." Bonnie said.
"You're doing well Bonnie. I'm really proud of you." Clemont started before they heard a ringing noise.
"What's that?" Shauna asked.
" It's my phone auto device." Clemont said before a cart with a phone on it drove up to them and revealed Ash and Serena on the screen.
"Ash, Serena it's good to see you guys again. How's the journey going?" Clemont asked.
"We're getting married!" Serena shouted.
"What?" The three said in unison.
"I proposed to Serena last night." Ash said.
"Wow, congratulations. I can't believe you two are finally getting married." Shauna said.
"Wow , this is amazing! You two will finally be husband and wife! Je suis raiment enthousiaste!" Bonnie shouted saying how excited she was.
"So do you know when you're getting married?" Clemont asked.
"No , but I know I want you as a groomsmen." Ash said.
"Really, I'm honored." Clemont said.
"I was hoping you could be one of my bridesmaids Shauna." Serena said.
"I'd love to be a bridesmaid. " Shauna said.
"Alright we'll let you guys know when the wedding is, could you also tell the professor." Serena said.
"Ok we'll see you soon." Clemont said before the call needed.
"Wow, Ash and Serena are getting married." Shauna said.
"You know what this means." Bonnie said.
"What?" Clemont asked.
"You two have to get married now." Bonnie said.
"What?" Clemont said as his and Shauna's faces turned red.
Elsewhere in Pallet town at professor Oak's lab, Tracey was trying to pull professor oak out from under Muk.
"Muk." Muk said smiling.
"Ash's new Muk is far to affectionate." Oak said as as he was pulled out.
"What is this time 4, today?" Tracey said.
Moments later the phone started ringing.
"Oh who could that be?" Oak said before he turned it on and saw Ash with Serena on the other side
" Oh hello Ash, Serena. How are you guys doing?" Oak asked.
"We're get timed married." Serena said.
"What?" Gary said.
"Well, how about that. The boy is already getting married. You're father wasn't much older than you when I found out he proposed to your mother." Oak said.
"Congratulations guys." Tracey said.
"We'd like you at the wedding, once we plan it out." Ash said.
"We'd love to come." Oak said.
"Alright we'll see you later." Ash said as he prepared to end the call. As that happened, Muk jumped onto Oak again.
"Wait, can you please swap out one of your pokemon for Muk!" Oak shouted, but was too late.
"5 times." Tracey said sweat dropping.
After the call ended Serena hugged Ash tightly while rubbing her face against the side of his head.
"I can't believe we're actually getting married. " Serena said as her face stayed red.
"I love you, and the time is right." Ash said.
"Pika , Pikachu." Pikachu said as he smiled. He was happy to see Ash finally ask Serena to marry him.
In a matter of months they would be mates for life.
That was when Pikachu realized something. If they married, then they would do other things that married couples did at night. With him out and close to them.
"Pika." Pikachu said sweat dropping.
"I'm just so excited. I get to pick out a wedding dress, flowers, a chapel." Serena said.
"You're going to love planning this wedding aren't you." Ash said.
"I am." Serena said sounding extremely excited.
"Well it won't be the easiest thing planning a wedding on the road , but I'm sure we can do it." Ash said.
"We will." She said before kissing him.
Later that day , they met up with Brock and Lucy at the hotel restaurant.
"So if it isn't Mr. and Mrs. Ketchum." Lucy said as Ash and Serena sat down.
"I can't believe that the two of you are getting married." Brock said.
"Yeah I never thought a pair of 20 year olds would be married before me." Lucy said.
"I know." Brock said before the two accidentally looked at each other and their faces turned red. They then looked back to the others.
"So are we still heading to Cinnabar island today?" Brock asked.
"Yes, but I'd like to gain some info on good chapels in Kanto. If there isn't anything good here, we'll probably get married in Kalos." Serena said.
"So Ash, have you considered who your best man will be?" Brock asked.
"I already know, Red is my best man." Ash said.
"Red, your twin brother. Right." Brock said sweat dropping.
"So Serena, who is your maid of honor?" Lucy asked.
"Korrina, she's the closest person I have to a sister." Serena said.
"How about your brides maids?" Lucy asked.
"Don't worry Lucy, you're going to be in the wedding." Serena said.
"You'll be a groomsmen to Brock." Ash said.
"Alright, wait, if you get married in Kalos are they going to speak Kalos there? I can't speak Kalos." Brock said.
"Don't worry Brock we'll take care of that." Serena said.
"So Serena , why don't you go down and pick up the pamphlets. I want to do some training with my pokemon." Ash said.
"Alright we can look at them tonight on the boat." Serena said.
"I'll come with you." Lucy said. The two walked off as Ash and Brock left the hotel to do some training.
A few hours passed before the group met up at the docks.
"So did you find some places?" Ash asked.
"I have them here." Serena said blushing with over 15 pamphlets in her hands.
later that night Ash and Serena were in their room on the ferry.
Ash was in his boxer shorts laying on the bed with Pikachu beside him.
Standing beside the bed was Serena with the pamphlets in hand.
"Alright I have them all here." Serena said as she put them down on the end of the bed.
After doing so she took off her top and tossed it on the ground.
"Now we can look at them all and decide which one we want." Serena said sounding excited as she unbuttoned her skirt.
"In the end though we're going to pick the one you want." Ash joked before he was hit in the face by her skirt.
"Pika." Pikachu said laughing a little.
Ash put the skirt down and saw Serena in her blue bra and panties.
She climbed onto the bed and crawled beside Ash.
The two were now laying with their heads by the foot end of the bed.
As Serena opened the pamphlets Ash looked with her.
"So how about this hall?" Serena asked as she showed the first one to Ash.
"It looks ok but," Ash started.
"I didn't like it either. Let's move onto the next one." Serena said as Ash and Pikachu sweat dropped.
Ash was a bit more excited about being married to Serena than than wedding planning, but it was necessary and he knew she would love it.
Later that night Serena was asleep with her head on Ash's chest and Pikachu above his head.
"Alright, let's see some more of Altair's life." Ash said as he took out the time flower.
Ash could see a small village with several buildings on fire. The Arceon villagers were either trying to run or being attacked by Tull raiding parties on Rapidashes or Rhyhorn.
Men were being slashed, stabbed, beaten, trampled , or butchered on the stop while women and girls were dragged off and violated.
As a woman was being violated by a Tull a young Arceon boy with a rock in hand rushed over and tried to hit the Tull.
The Tull turned and smacked him across his face and onto the ground.
The Tull was a Tull officer and grabbed the boy before dragging him to the center of the village.
"No! Please!" The woman shouted as she watched her son get dragged off.
"This boy struck me! Let this be a lesson to all who try to resist us!" He shouted as he drew a knife. Many of the villagers looked on in horror as the Arceon boy and his mother began to tear up.
Just before he could plunge a knife into the back of the boy's neck another man leapt up from a top a building at the Tull officer. The Tull looked up just in time to see an another Arceon wearing a white hooded robe and spikes sticking down out of his back.
As he came down a blade came from under his left wrist and was plunged into the Tull's neck at he was slammed into the ground.
The Arceon boy looked up as the aura guardian stood over him and turned to the other Tulls.
Two Tull soldiers sprinted at him when a massive Mega Lucario leapt from the same building and smashed his palms into the Tulls' necks so hard it spanned them.
He then stood beside the aura guardian who drew another hidden blade from his right hand.
He leapt forward and slashed across the face of another Tull who was coming at him.
Ash could only watch in disbelief as he saw the guardian move faster and more swiftly than any guardian he had ever seen before. Slashing, flipping, stabbing, making his way through the Tull soldiers with his hidden blades like a lawnmower through grass.
Even Vaeron at his prime would have been nothing to what the guardian was doing.
When nearly 10 ran at him at once, he unleashed a pulse of aura that hurled them all to the ground. That was when a pair of Tulls took out bucked of water and hurled it onto a trio of muzzled and chained Rhyhorns.
"Attack!" He shouted.
The 3 rock Rhinos sprinted at the guardian with 6 Tull soldiers beside them.
Mega Lucario leapt over the guardian and smashed into the first Rhyhorn with his foot, plowing him into the ground. He then quickly turned and smashed the second one's face with his right fist.
Once this was done he made his way to the Tull soldiers, slashing or smashing them with his claws , fists, and feet.
When the last Rhyhorn reached the guardian , he grabbed his horn and stopped the charging pokemon. He was pushed back a few feet, but wasn't hurled back. He then connected to the pokemon's aura and tried ease his pain.
"It's alright. I don't want to hurt you." the guardian said in a familiar voice. He used his blades to cut the chains off him. As this happened
3 Tull archers on the rooftops aimed and fired at them. The guardian quickly threw a barrier or aura over them that deflected the arrows.
As they launched another 3 arrows, Lucario used metal claw to knock each one away before launching an aura sphere at the archers, hurling them off the roof.
As this happened several more Tull raiders charged at the two aura guardians only to be engulfed in flames from above. The villagers watched as A massive Mega Charizard Y flew down at them.
Ash noticed that the Charizard Y was much bigger than his own. He also noticed that the Charizard had armored scales across his body, his stomach, his chest, his arms, and back, and tail. He also had spikes across them.
The Charizard Y slammed his massive feet onto two Tull raiders before another Guardian leapt off the the Charizard and slammed his hidden blades into two Tull raiders.
As this happened a Mega Blastoise smashed his shell into 5 Tull as another guardian leapt off his shell and assassinated another 2 Tulls.
At the same time, several massive spikes routes shot out of the ground and entangled 5 Tull raiders as a Mega Venasaur revealed herself. Another aura guardian leapt off her back and assassinated another 2 Tull raiders.
Meanwhile a Mega Pidgeot flew overhead and used his massive talons to knock 3 Tull archers off the rooftop. A fifth aura guardian leapt off the mega Pidgeot and slammed her hidden blades into another 2 Tull archers.
The villagers now began to cheer as the 5 aura guardians and their pokemon stood side by side all facing the incoming mob of Tull raiders.
All of the guardians held their hidden blades out then charged into the mob with their pokemon beside them. Ash saw the guardian with the Mega Charizard Y fought incredible well too. He wasn't nearly as good as the first guardian, but was as good as Vaeron was during his prime.
The other guardians also seemed far more skilled than guardians of any other time, except Vaeron.
The 5 guardians and their pokemon continued to slice their way through the Tulls until they cleared the village.
After doing so , they walked to the edge and saw just outside the village , several hundred Tull raiders formed there , shouting, and waiving their curved blades.
The guardians and their pokemon stood between them and the village.
The head Tull stepped forward and shouted out.
"Die hooded men!" He shouted.
"We are aura guardians. The one's who brought your wretched empire to its knees. I am Altair ibn la Ahad. First mentor of the Aura guardians. You will throw down your arms and leave this place." Altair said in a very calm tone.
"It's Altair." Ash said.
"Even you cannot stand against hundreds of us!" The Tull commander shouted.
Moments later hundreds of flaming javelins were hurled into the crowd of Tulls, killing dozens of them, including the lead Tull.
The villagers, and the Tulls turned to a hill overlooking the village. Standing a top the hill were hundreds of men lined up in fell organized formations. The men wore plated armor over their shoulders , chest, and stomach that was all attached together. Under the armor was chain mail and a blue shift that went down to just above their knees.
They wore metal helmets that covered most of their head and face. Just their eyes and mouth were showing. In their leg hands were large metal rectangular shields and in their right, short swords.
The formations also had several large pokemon wearing similar armor and helmets on them. Pokemon like Charizards, Nidoking, and Machamp.
In the front of each formation were officers who wore a chest plate that was brown and made of leather on metal with a display of a crest and red plume facing parallel to the shoulders.
In between the formation was a man wearing armor that looked like a mix between the officers and regulars and was made of gold. The plume on his helmet went perpendicular to his shoulders, and he rode on the back of a large Rapidash.
"Legionaries charge!" He shouted.
At the front of the formation to the right was their officers. A woman who held her short sword out and shouted.
"Maniple, forward Harch!" She shouted as the she and her men started marching in unison.
"Double time, Harch!" She shouted as they began to march in a faster pace, like running. Even the pokemon moved in unison with the soldiers. The Tulls tried to turn, but couldn't in time and the formations slammed into the Tull's side.
The soldiers stayed in formation as they used their shields together to keep themselves safe from any of the Tull's swords. The Charizards and other pokemon also helped with the fight.
As this happened , several dozen Tulls broke from the massive fight and ran at the village. Each time they did, they were cut down by the aura guardians.
Eventually the Tull were slaughtered until none were left.
Once all of the Tull were dead , the armored soldiers rushed into the village to tend to the villagers and the slave pokemon that the Tull brought with them.
The aura guardian with the Charizard followed Altair to the commander of the soldiers as his other guardians helped the people and pokemon.
The Arceon in golden armor and the woman officer walked over to them. They both removed their helmets. The man in gold armor had a face with several scars on it and blue eyes. He also had short black hair and a light morning shadow on his face.
The woman had brown eyes and long raven black hair that fell down to past her shoulders.
"So you're the great Altair ibn la Ahad. Mentor of the Aura guardians. I'm glad to meet the one who helped found the Roman republic. Who saved the land from the Tulls. My name is Lieutenant genera Marius Titus, commander of the 14th legion of the Roman republic. This is Maria Thorpe the finest centurion in my legion." The general said.
"So glad you could sit atop the village and let us fight the mob of Tulls." Maria said in an rather unfriendly tone.
"Centurion." Marius said.
"We were defending the village. We're guardians we protect the innocent." The other guardian said.
"Malik, it's alright. She doesn't understand us, we aren't soldiers." Altair said.
"You're not." Maria said in the same tone.
"Maria do you understand who he is. This Acreon was the first in all of history to befriend and train a pokemon. He founded the guardians who helped create civilization based on reason and wisdom. To not fear pokemon, but embrace them. Live alongside them as friends, not masters. It's because of him that the cursed Tulls are on the brink of collapse." Marius said.
"Yet for all that skill he continues to see himself above us. Him and all his kin, blessed with the ability to use aura." Maria said.
"Our gifts are a blessing yes. But we are not above you, all of us , Arceons and Pokemon alike are the creator's children and must be treated equally." Altair said.
"That is why I joined the legions of Itan." Maria said.
"It is what the creator sent me to do." Altair said.
Maria continued to glare at Altair when another Guardian ran over to them.
"Mentor, the Knights templar. They're here." The guardian said.
Altair and the others turned to see over a dozen Arceons ridding into the village on Rapidash. The roman legionaries, villages, and other guardians turned as they rode into the center of the village. The Arceons wore chain mail armor over their bodies with black tunics on the chest with a large red cross in the center.
Some of them wore larger chain mail armor and wore helmets that covered their entire heads. Ash also noticed each of the men with helmets had either a Kadabra, Drowzee, or Hypno riding with them on their Rapidash.
The head one wore a cape over his back and dismounted before walking over to Altair and the others and removing his helmet.
Ash noticed this Arceon looked different than the others. He resembled them , but definitely had a more sleek and composed body , almost like a Psychic type did.
He had blue eyes and no hair on his head or face at all. Walking beside him was what looked like an Alakazam, but it had no spoons in his hands, was slightly taller, had bigger arms and shorter mustache.
The Acreon bowed before Marius and Altair.
"Guardian mentor, Roman General. Robert De Sable, commander of the Knights Templars at your service. We are here to help." He said.
"If you haven't noticed, all the fighting is done." Maria said as she faced him.
"We can provide more help then just fighting." Robert said as his men dismounted.
The ones with helmets walked over to the destroyed village buildings with their Psychic types beside them.
Robert nodded before the Psychic types started to use Psychic to move the broken pieces of the buildings back into place.
Ash then noticed something. The knights in helmets eyes were glowing red as they aimed their hands at pieces of the buildings and they also moved back into place.
"No, that can't be." Ash said. He couldn't believe it, but these Acreons were using Psychic moves like the pokemon.
Even Robert used Psychic move debris off a wounded villager.
"We can handle the care of this village. It's what we do." Robert said.
"Protecting the people is what the guardians do." Malik said.
"Protect, but we restore." Robert said.
"If the knights Templar have this in check we should keep moving in case there are more Tull raiders nearby. Centurion form up your men. Altair it was good to meet you." Marius said.
"It was good to meet you General, and you Maria." Altair said as he turned back to her.
She ignored him before walking back with Marius.
"Maniple fall in!" Maria shouted as her legionaries rushed back into formation.
Altair and Malik walked back to their group.
"Are we leaving as well?" Malik asked.
"Yes, there are more villages in this valley we must ensure are safe." Altair said.
"I don't like leaving them here with the Templars, I don't trust them." Malik said.
"The Templars aren't the Tulls my friend." Altair said.
"They are ruled by the Psychics, I really don't trust them. They have to control everything, everyone. They sap spirit and freedom from the people." Malik said.
"The Psychics aren't so different than us Malik. They to are decedents of a pokemon species , and like us they retain the abilities of their ancestors." Altair said.
"Robert De Sable is a deceiver, he cannot be trusted." Malik said as their reached their pokemon.
Lucario looked over at Robert and growled slightly as he read his aura.
"Even Lucario agrees with me." Malik said.
"I don't doubt what kind of man you think he is Malik. I don't like him either, but we share a common enemy, the Tulls. Once they are gone, we can focus on the templars. But you saw what the Tulls did to this village. So long as they exist they will pillage, murder, rape, and burn. We must stop them." Altair said.
Malik sighed as his Charizard placed his paw on his shoulder and nodded.
"You're right. The Tulls are far worse than the Templars, and there are still more Tulls." Malik said.
"Now let's go stop them shall we." Altair said before Lucario and Charizard both roared.
