Tris pov
"Lets get this over with." Tobias says.
All the group's take off, leaving me with Zeke and Tobias. Tobias shows me how to use the controls and look through the cameras. I put my speaker on the desk where I can see it in and turn up the volume. Everyone has one. If something happens, they'll call us.
Tobias sits next to me and Zeke next to him. I switch from the camera in the pit to the hall. I see movement so I stay at that one and watch. I see blonde hair. I look closer and watch carefully. She turns and calls to someone, and that's when I see that it's Nikki. I sigh.
I was hoping that it would be the blonde shadow, but it's not. Ross soon follows, his gun held up and aiming. Nikki raises her speaker to her mouth and that's when mine goes off.
"This is Nikki, come in Tris."
"It's Tris, I hear you."
"There's movement heading north towards the Chasm."
"This is Chris, we're near the Chasm, we got it."
I switch cameras to the ones near the Chasm. I don't see anything. Maybe she already ran past this part?
I switch to the camera on the end of the hall, near the cafeteria. The cafeteria is closed at this time, but I see movement inside the kitchen. I switch to the camera in the kitchen, but it's down.
"Four, can you check the kitchen camera?"I ask.
"Sure...What the fuck?"He says, clearly he sees that it's down.
He picks up his speaker and says,"this is Four, anyone near the cafeteria, please check it out. Be advised, the camera in there is down."
"Got it,"says Uriah.
"I'm going down there," Tobias says.
"Let me go with you,"I say.
"Tris, please just stay here. Please,"he says placing a hand on my stomach,"think of the baby. She could be armed and dangerous."
I sigh and say,"fine."
I switch back to the camera in the eating area. I see Uriah and Marlene walk through it, their gun raised. Tobias soon meets with them. They open the door and that's when I see bullets being fired.
Marlene drops to the floor.
"Oh shit!" Zeke says watching what I am watching.
"We need everyone in the cafeteria!"Tobias says over the speakers.
Zeke and I rush down to the cafeteria and find everyone in there. Uriah holds Marlene.
"She got away." Tobias says.
"Is Marlene okay?"I ask.
"She's just knocked out. I think it has something to do with these?" Uriah says pointing to the small silver ball in her arm.
"But you have one too?" Says Christina.
"And you too Four,"Ross says.
"Why are we awake?" Uriah says.
"Maybe it's because we're divergent." Tobias says.
Uriah seems to take that answer.
"Let's get her to the hospital,"I say.
Uriah stands up with her in his arms and we walk to the hospital. The doctors examine Tobias and Zeke and Marlene closely when we get there. I slip away for a second and walk to the pit when no one is looking.
I walk the familiar path to my home so that I can get something to eat. As I unlock the door, I hear footsteps behind me. I pull my gun out and turn around. But it's only Nikki.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you,"she says,"but I saw you walking out here and I didn't want you to be alone."
"Thanks Nikki,"I say.
We walk into the apartment and grab some food to bring back to everyone. As I'm locking the door behind me, I hear gun shots and thump. Nikki drops the food for her gun, but she's hit in the side.
I pull my gun out too but before I can shoot this invisible shooter, I'm shot in the shoulder. It's not a normal gun shot though. It kind of stings. We look around us, but no one is there, and no one is shooting anymore.
Nikki lifts up her shirt to reveal an identical silver ball that matches the one on my shoulder, and on Marlene and the boys. "Divergent?"I ask.
"Yeah, you?"
"Yeah."
We take off running towards the hospital.
When we get there, I find a worried Tobias.
"Where the hell-"
"We went to get some food for everyone, but we were shit by the same things as you." I say. I show him my shoulder and Nikki lifts her shirt to show them.
"C'mon, let's get you guys checked out," he says and leads me to a room with Nikki.
"Tonight's a little busy, so you'll have to share this room,"a nurse says.
"That's okay,"Nikki and I say together.
Ross holds her hand as he sits next to her. Tobias sits next to me, holding my hand. Two nurses come in and start doing blood tests and gets my blood pressure.
"Your blood pressure is a little high, you are going to need to relax a little, okay?" She says.
"Okay."
"And since it already has that you're pregnant on file, I'm guessing you know that already?"
"Yes,"I say.
"Congratulations,"the nurse says.
"Thank you," we say.
The nurse exits the room and in comes another. She walks over to Nikki. I can't help but over hear their conversation.
"You seem fine, but there is something else."
"What?" Nikki asks.
"Congratulations, Ms James, you're pregnant."
"What?!"her and Ross both say surprised.
"You're blood tested positive for pregnancy."
"Oh my god..."She says and gasps.
Ross stands up and holds her as the nurse leaves. They both look in shock. "Ross,"she barely gets out.
"Shhh, it's okay,"he says,"you don't have to say anything."
She cries into his chest and he cries with her. Tobias places a hand on my stomach and rubs it a little. "How do you feel?"he asks me.
"I'm a little hungry."I say.
"Okay, when they release you, we'll eat."
"Okay."
When I finally get released, Tobias takes me home, after making sure everyone gets back safe. We pick up the food we dropped and go inside. I know I said I was hungry, but I end up falling asleep on the couch before I can even eat and wake in Tobias' arms as he carries me to bed.
